Third Chapter, I'm doing good with this I think. Sorry for any spelling mistakes or anything else. Please put any mistakes you notice into a comment and I will try to fix it

Gideon walked home after his hospital visit to Raymond, smiling a smile that was from ear to ear. He never knew that a relationship would come about like this, a friend he had just met at school going into a coma, and asking to speak to him when he woke up. Gideon didn't mind though. He was just finally happy he had someone. He was walking down his street, not noticing his dad hadn't gotten home yet. He walked inside and was surprised to find that his sister was the only one home. Usually his father was home at this time. "Where's dad?" Gideon asked his sister, Clarice, a bronze dragon. She had bronze hair to match her skin, you couldn't tell where her hair began unless you looked really closely. Her golden eyes shone. She was muscular, for a girl, and she wasn't bad looking. Lucky for her boyfriend. "He went to a business meeting in Springfield." Clarice said. I sighed, remembering the trick I was gonna pull, looks like the water balloons are going to get really cold. Springfield was six hours away. They lived in a small town in Illinois called Alton. It was just on the edge of the Mississippi river, being where the Lewis and Clark bridge started they got a lot of traffic. It wasn't a big city and Gideon's Social Studies teacher blames it on the murder of Elijah P. Lovejoy, a newspaper editor for the Alton Observer that supported anti-slavery during the civil war. Alton didn't have a very good history. Now it was a peaceful town but it still didn't prosper. "Listen, I need to talk to you Clarice." Gideon said, "Its something that I honestly don't want to talk about with..." "I'm guessing you finally found a boyfriend?" Clarice asked, with no trace of anything but laughter in her voice. She had reason to laugh. Gideon had a look of shock on his face that said so much. "How did you find out?" Gideon asked her. "I've never told anybody in the family." "Gideon," she said with a sigh, "I am your sister, aren't you ever going to realize that I know my baby brother well enough to realize that he's gay?" Gideon started to get angry, he didn't like being called her baby brother. "Don't call me that, I'm 14 now." "I'm six years older than you, your always gonna be my baby brother." Clarice said, trying to hold back another round of laughter. "When am I gonna get to meet him?" "I'm gonna bring him over here tomorrow. He just came out of a coma, if a short one." Gideon told her. "You have had a boyfriend long enough for him to get injured enough to go into a coma and I haven't known?" Clarice said, slightly disappointed. "No, he got hit by a car and went into a coma, he woke up today and I walked to the hospital. In other words, it just happened." Gideon responded. "How long have you known him?" Clarice asked once again, her curiosity getting the better of her. "Curiosity killed the cat." Gideon said, trying to sound like a smart ass. "No, I killed the cat because he wouldn't tell me what I wanted to know," Clarice answered with her usual response, "now tell me." "A day and a half." Gideon said in defeat, knowing that his sister would sit there until his dad got back, making him sit too. "Moving fast aren't ya?" she asked. "I mean, you could have at least chosen someone you know better." "Clarice, if you knew as much as you think you know, you would realize that I may be a jock that everybody is afraid of, but people don't like me, let alone hang out with me. The only people that do are the tennis team, and they are all straight and in a happy relationship." Gideon stood up, "Now, if your game of twenty questions is over can I go? I need to move the water balloons out of the attic so they don't freeze." Clarice looked confused, and then stood up and walked to her room, not believing her brother was actually going to drop water balloons on their dad. "Don't tell mom or dad," he yelled after her and remembered his other sister, "or Malissa, and ESPECIALLY not Craig." Malissa was twenty-two and married to Craig who was twenty-five. "I won't, I will leave that up to you." Clarice yelled back, "Just make sure I'm there when you tell dad, you know how he gets." "‘Kay" Gideon told her, running up to the attic. He remembered the trick his sister had pulled on him and found the tiles above her room. He silently removed them and dropped the largest water balloon, right on her head. "That's for putting my alarm clock next to my head yesterday." "I'm gonna kill you." Clarice said. He quickly replaced the floor tile and ran down the stairs. He just barely escaped his sister. He may be a guy, but when it came to dragons, even female dragons could get very strong, and he was only fourteen. He didn't want to go anywhere so he snuck around to his back yard. He was happy to see the feral dog, the animals that couldn't talk and still had the minds all animals had before the first furs were called feral animals. They were rare and Gideon was lucky they could afford to have one for a pet. He walked over to the Feral Alaskan Malamute. He just sat there petting the dog for hours. Before he knew it it was dark. He decided to do something he hadn't done in a long time. He took the Malamute off his chain and carried him indoors, up to his room. He shut the door and sat down on his bed, the Malamute climbing up shortly after and resting it's head on Gideon's leg. The Malamute wasn't allowed indoors except for special occasions, but Gideon didn't care. He hadn't let the dog in for a while and the Malamute deserved it. He stood up, disturbing the dog, and walked over to his closet and opened the sliding door. The wood was cool to the touch and kinda hard to open since he hadn't gotten into it in a while. He pulled out one of his most prized possessions once the door was open. It was an old fashioned acoustic guitar. He walked to his bed and sat down. He started strumming the strings to make sure the guitar was tuned correctly. Once he was satisfied he started strumming the notes for one of his favorite songs. He hadn't had reason to play it in a while but now he played it like he never had before. He sung better as well. "Imagine me and you, I do I think about you day and night, it's only right To think about the one you love and hold them tight So happy together If I should call you up, invest a dime And you say you belong to me and ease my mind Imagine how the world could be, so very fine So happy together I can't see me lovin' nobody but you For all my life When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue For all my life Me and you and you and me No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be The only one for me is you, and you for me So happy together I can't see me lovin' nobody but you For all my life When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue For all my life Me and you and you and me No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be The only one for me is you, and you for me So happy together Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba Me and you and you and me No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be The only one for me is you, and you for me So happy together So happy together How is the weather So happy together We're happy together So happy together Happy together So happy together So happy together (ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba)" After he was done singing, having replaced a few words due to his sexuality. He had been thinking about Raymond the whole time. He looked after at the dog that was laying down on his bed still, looking at him with his tail wagging. Gideon almost laughed at the dog. Gideon went through a whole list of songs he could play, switching to his electric guitar after the first song. By the time he was finished he was tired out. He lay down on his bed, the dog curled up right next to him, clapped twice to turn the light out. He though ‘God bless the man who created the clapper.' And fell asleep. ***************************************************************************** Raymond's day in the hospital was absolutely dreadful. There was nothing to do, the female interns who accompanied nearly all the nurses kept trying to hit on him. One kept coming back over and over again. She finally ditched the nurse and sat down on his bed. "My name is Isabella," she said with a charming Italian accent. He would have dated her if he was straight, but he wasn't. "What's your name." "My name is Raymond," he said without the slightest stutter, she looked shocked that he wasn't nervous. Most of the time men were when they talked to her. "How are you?" "I'm good," she said, "do you have a girlfriend?" she blurted out. He was surprised at how blunt she was but managed to say, "No." "Can I be your girlfriend?" she asked. "No, you can't." He answered, "Sorry." "Why not?" She said, checking her clothes and hair to make sure there wasn't anything wrong. "Is there something wrong with the way I look?" "No." Raymond replied simply. "Then why not?" She asked insistently now. "Because I'm in a relationship" Raymond replied, getting irritated. "But you said you didn't have a girlfriend." She replied, trying to make a point. "I don't" Raymond said, getting kind of amused. "Then how are you in a relation..." she thought for a moment, then stood up and left the room. ‘Well she's out of my way.' Raymond thought to himself. He fell asleep, happy that his distractions would be gone. Tell one person your gay, and the word spreads. He woke up at 9:30 the next morning. The doctor came in and said, "Ahhh, your awake. You are free to go." "Awesome." Raymond said, deciding to wait out front. He got up and found his clothes, it wasn't that hard considering they were sitting at the foot of his bed. He got dressed and went down to the front entrance. He stepped out side and was greeted by wave upon wave of scorching heat. He stepped back, deciding to wait inside. He was bored for the next half an hour, waiting for Gideon to show up. When Gideon finally did show up, Raymond was dismayed to find out he was riding his bike. Gideon walked in the door and Raymond said, "Did you have to ride your bike. It is really hot out there." Gideon just laughed and handed him a small disc that looked like a bracelet. "What's this?" Raymond asked. "It's a PACU." Gideon replied, "Just put it on your wrist." "What's a PACU?" Raymond replied, putting the PACU on his wrist. "Personal Air Conditioning Unit." Gideon said, "I decided to steal my dad's for a bit so you wouldn't fry. Let's go." They walked out and Raymond knew instantly that Gideon had been telling the truth. The ring around his wrist had started whirring as soon as they stepped out the door and he was cool. "I don't get how this works. How are you gonna ride us both to your house?" "Your gonna sit on my handle bars, or you can sit behind me on my seat. Either one." Gideon said the last part with laughter almost on his face. Gideon got on the bike and Raymond sat behind him, slightly uncomfortable. "Hold on, I'm gonna be riding fast. It's about five minutes." Raymond grabbed a hold of Gideon, his arms wrapped around his waist. Gideon liked the feeling and started riding off towards his. He hadn't lied to Raymond, he was riding almost as fast as the cars driving on the road next to them. He made it to his house faster than his estimation, and they were stepping into the cool house with the granite floors. "Clarice, I'm home." Gideon yelled out. Clarice walked out of the kitchen with an apron around her waist and drying off her hands. "Hi, I'm guessing your Raymond," Clarice said, pulling Raymond into a hug, "I already know." she added to the confused look on Raymond's face. Relief flooded Raymond's face. He had thought she was gonna start hitting on him like those nurses had for a second there. "Ya, I am." Raymond said, feeling stupid about answering something that she already knew. Gideon laughed, "Good job Raymond. Good job. You successfully made yourself look like an idiot." "Shut up," Raymond snapped at Gideon, "you didn't exactly do to well with my parents." "Hey, I didn't make myself look stupid. I was eavesdropping, there is a difference." Gideon said. "Will you two stop bickering like your married, it's giving me a headache." Clarice said, causing both Gideon and Raymond to laugh. "In about four years, we might BE a married couple. I don't care what my parents think about it." Gideon said. "Ditto." Raymond replied. Gideon just kissed Raymond on the lips, but they pulled apart in embarrassment when they heard Clarice say, "Awww." She just laughed as they pulled apart, blushing. "So," Raymond coughed, "does your dad know?" "No, he doesn't. I'm not telling him yet." Gideon answered Raymond's question. "Oh," Raymond said, slightly disappointed. "Well, I'm gonna end up telling my parents, so, do you think I could get a ride over?" "Hey, I'm gonna be there with you when you tell them." Gideon bursted out. "Well, I'll take you over there. Now if you want." Clarice said. Raymond was happy about being able to ride in a car, so he gave her the directions and they left. They made it to Raymond's house in a few minutes. Gideon and Raymond stepped out of the car, "Wait here," Gideon told Clarice, "we don't know how this is gonna turn out." "OK, just hurry up." Clarice said, slightly anxious. Gideon and Raymond walked into Raymond's house, and Raymond called his parents into the living room. "Mom, Dad, I have something I need to tell you." "What?" Raymond's parents said at the same time. Raymond was looking slightly nervous and looked over at Gideon. Gideon smiled reassuringly and Raymond continued, "This is Gideon, I'm sure you have met him. He's m-my boyfriend." The atmosphere of the living room changed so fast, Gideon could swear he felt the temperature drop instantaneously. Raymond's parents just went to the kitchen after saying they need to talk for a minute. "Go to your room and get some clothes and whatever else you need. This isn't gonna end good." Raymond did what Gideon suggested with tears in his eyes. He had everything he wanted and needed in his school bag. Raymond was still crying when he sat down next to Gideon and Gideon leaned over and hugged him. Raymond's parents came into the room and said one thing at the same time. "Get out." ______________________________________________________________ More cliffhangers! YAY!
