The next morning....

The sun was rising on the horizon as Mightyena and i continue our rest together. The air had begun to warm up for the day ahead, but i remained snuggled fast against and sleeping with Mightyena, like a child with its mother. If i could have stayed like this forever, I'm not sure if I would have said. Of course life had other plans as a sudden and sharp noise filled the cabin, snapping me awake and looking the room in a panic. My eyes darted around me looking for the source of the noise, only to see Mightyena groggily raising his head and shaking it. I looked at him, confused for a moment before realizing that the noise was nothing more then a sudden sneeze from him. A smile crept to my face and i began to laugh, from both his silly antics and my still foggy, morning brain not being one hundred percent. Mightyena, who himself was still groggy, looked to me and tilted his head, looking at me as if i were crazy. This made me laugh more as i fell back onto the bed, smiling wide and looking up at him. Mightyena remained confused by my sudden laughing fit, but simply sighed and laid next to me.

I looked over to him as he laid himself out and sighed. I took a breath in effort to calm myself down and smiled yet again at him. I say back up and began to stretch myself out, letting all of the sleeping stiffness seep out of my body and replaced it with morning energy. I grunted a bit as i kept stretching; Mightyena however wanted nothing to do with waking up along with me and let his eyes shut in attempt to go back to sleep. I gave him a smirk and set my hand atop his head and began to rub, throwing in a good scratch behind his ears for a tich bit extra encouragement. his delighted growls and murrs cued me in that this was working, and in not time he was up and stretching along with me. I laughed and gave him a hug, thanking him for getting up, then stood up. I made my way over to the dusty curtains in the corner of the room and parted them, allowing the morning sun into the room whilst at the same time sending myself into a sneezing fit from the large amount of dust kicked up. Worried by my sudden attack, Mightyena rushed to my side and nudged my leg, curious as to what was wrong. I shook my head a bit and smiled to him, giving a nod of confirmation that i was okay. He sighed and padded over to the other curtain, opening it himself. I smiled and sighed, telling him he cared too much about my health. he simply huffed, which made giggle and laugh.

I turned to the window then, gazing outside of it and watching the sun peak its head over the large tree line in front of me. Mightyena returned to my side and sat on his haunches, looking outside with me and wagging his tail and panting happily. I smiled to myself and instinctively began rubbing his head as we watched. It truly was a lovely sight, one that i was glad i could have shared with my best friend. However, the moment didn't last long as it was broken by, ironically, another odd and loud sound. This time though, the sound was only unfamiliar to Mightyena, who looked around, curious to the sounds origins. He looked to me, wondering if i had heard it as well and saw my face stained with a blush. Curiosity growing, he nudged me, his version of asking what was wrong. I looked down to him and smiled sheepishly, placing my hand on my stomach as the noise sounded out again. Mightyena, realizing it was stomach grumbling for a meal, cracked a wide grin at me and gave a deep and sudden nuzzle to my belly. His sudden actions surprised me, enough so to cause me to yelp a bit and stumble to the ground. Seeing my surprise, Mightyena whimpered and looked down, seemingly ashamed. I gave him a sympathetic smile and rubbed his cheek, telling him it was okay. He looked back at me with uncertain eyes. I sighed, telling him again that it really was okay and gave him a hug. The hug fully convincing him, his smile returned and he began to lick away at my cheek. I laughed and smiled, standing back up and nodding at the door. It was time for us to go "hunting" and get a good breakfast.

It took us only minuets of searching in the forest to find a tree filled with fruits. I looked up at the tree, sighing at the height of the fruit and went to its trunk. I made a few feeble attempts to try and climb up the tree, all of which ended with me falling down a foot or two onto my back. During this poor display of athleticism, Mightyena was smiling and wagging his tail, amused by my poor skills. After about the fourth or fifth try, i gave up and sat down on the ground, defeated. Mightyena gave me a sympathetic smile and licked my cheek before launching a weak Dark Pulse attack into the branches, in turn knocking down a small feast of apples for us. I looked up and smile, thanking him and scooted over to where the pile of apples had formed. Sitting next to me, Mightyena wasted no time digging into the meal, as did i. We at all of the apples together, leaving nothing but the cores behind. I gave a satisfied groan and leaned back, rubbing my stomach, which now had a slight bulge in it from the meal. Mightyena was no different and stretched himself out, showing off his own larger, apple filled gut. I gave a quiet giggle and started to rub his tummy with both hand in slow, gentle, circular motions. His tongue quickly lolled out of his mouth as growls of content rumbled out of him. My giggles got a bit louder and a smile covered my entire face. Seeing Mightyena happy and relaxed like this was the ultimate delight to me, and it was my intention to see him as such as often as i could.

After a few minutes of tummy rubs, delighted growls and wide smiles, i stopped and sighed, sitting back against the tree and looking up at the sky. Seeing the slowly rolling clouds up high relaxed me a little further, but said relaxation was not for long as questions, thoughts, and worries began to seep into my mind. These where realizations, ones that i hoped would not have bothered me. But i wasn't lucky enough for that. They were questions of how would i eat everyday, where would i get the food to eat, how would i bathe and where would i get clothes, how would i be able to live out here with Mightyena? All of these questions had to be answered if i was to keep him with me and by my side. I couldn't just bring him home with me, it wouldn't be right of me. He'd hate the secluded nature of the city and how loud and busy it always was. Plus even if i did, where would i get the money to pay for all of his food and other needs. And that brought up another point, how would i care for him, whether in the city or here? I had no trainer experience and for all i know, i could have been messing up my job as his friend royally! No matter which way i tried to play it in my head, it always ended with him suffering and me being a complete failure to him...

All of this frustration was getting to me and showed blatantly. Mightyena picked up on it rather quickly and looked at me, worry in his eyes. I tried to smile and tell him it was okay, but one look from him told me it was no use to try and hide what was on my mind. I sighed and looked down, telling him all of what was bothering me. He listened intently to the end, unwilling to look away. As i finished telling him everything, tears had began to stream down my cheeks and my voice was shaky, almost lost in sobs. i had buried my face in my knees, attempting to hide the shame of being a worthless friend to Mightyena, who had done nothing but helped me since we had met again. But as my sobs persisted, i felt the gentle rub of a furry cheek again the side of my head, followed suit by a quiet whimper. I sniffed and looked up, knowing it was Mightyena attempting to console me. I didn't know why he was trying to, it was obvious i was nothing but a detriment to him. But as my eyes met his, i froze. As i gazed into his deep blue eyes, I saw nothing but compassion, caring, love, confidence that we'd do okay. All of these reassuring emotions running through his eyes made me smile and in an instant i was crying harder, my arms wrapped tightly around him. Mightyena smiled softly and licked away gently as my cheeks, trying his best to remove my tears and stained cheeks the best he could. He had no worries this time as i cried; we both knew that my tears where ones of relief, relief that we'd both be okay in the end, no matter what we had to go through. Just so long as we had each other as friends, nothing could stop us.

After all of this drama had unfolded and i had calmed down, i decided that it was about time that i got all of my things from the city and moved them out here. Mightyena had wanted to come with, but i had to tell him no. I didn't want him to become stressed and uneasy in an environment like that, so i'd go alone and gather what few things i had to move them. He didn't like the idea, but eventually gave in, only after the demand that his belly be rubbed first. Not wanting to disappoint gladly gave into his demands, with a happy smile and giggle. After i finished, i ran as fast as i could to the city to gather my things. Luckily for me i was one who didn't have much and managed to fit it all into one bag, save for my bed and furniture. Those proved to be too large to move to the cabin, but i had plans to have them sold for some extra money, money to be used for a safety net, or some special purchases later on. With everything gathered and packed into my bag, i began the trek back to the woods, stopping first to get a special surprise for Mightyena.

It took me just twenty minuets to get home, and as i entered the perimeter of the cabin, i was tackled down in an instant by Mightyena and greeted with a myriad of licks and happy barks. I laughed hard and playfully tried to push him off, but to no avail. I didn't really mind, this kind of love was something i, well... loved. This lick attack continued for a few minutes before i eventually got myself free and headed inside, Mightyena trailing at my heels. Once inside, i began to unpack my bag, save for the special surprise. I set it all out on a table, blankets from my home, what food i had at home, some personal grooming tools, all of the normal supplies one would keep at home. I took a breath and looked it all over, then began to pack it all away in appropriate spots, with some help from Mightyena. It took us just a few minuets before everything was packed away. During this time i did realize that we would need some sort of power source eventually, but that was a problem for another day. Tonight, all that mattered was that everything was packed away and that Mightyena and I could just relax after a stress filled day.

With a tired sigh from me and an exhausted pant from Mightyena, we both plopped onto the mattress in front of the fireplace (I was still glad that it was such a large bed to fit us both). Mightyena laid himself down next to me and stretched himself out, presenting himself get a good petting. I laughed and gave his head a kiss, telling him not yet. He looked over to me, tilting his head and giving a grumble of confusion. I gave him a sneaky smile and moved over to grab my bag. I rustled through it a bit, then pulled out a shined, simple looking wooden box. Still confused, Mightyena sniffed at the box, then began to pant with excitement and kicked his tail up into a flurry of excitement. I giggle and smiled wide, opening up the box and revealing to him a large assortment of sweet, delicious Pokepuffs and other such treats, just for him. I took one of them and held it in front of his face and told him to say please. Mightyena whimpered and put his head down, whimpering like a cute puppy. I smiled with delight and gave it to him. In an instant, he demolished the the desert, leaving his face with a few streaks of frosting. I laughed and smiled even more, pulling another one out and letting him eat it freely. He did the same to this one as before, and the same to the next one, and the next, and so on and so forth.

Eventually the puffs were demolished and i set the box aside. Mightyena's head was laying on his side, his tummy bulging quite nicely from his large meal of deserts. I smiled at him, bu felt my cheeks grow hot with a blush. i hadn't a clue why i was blushing, but i didn't want him to see it. So the only option was to bury my face in his belly in attempts to hide them. Mightyena was a bit surprised by this, but i began to rub it as well, which caused his surprise to be overtaken by blissful delight. His relaxed delight heralded his signature happy growls, which rumbled up around me. They where much more soothing up close, and i smiled softly. Along with the soothing sound of his growls, the sounds of his digesting tummy gurgled up from under my head, furthering my blushes and my confusion of why this made me so happy. in the back of my head, i thought that this would have to be something that we'd do more often. I was worried that Mightyena wouldn't like doing it, but he was seemingly enjoying it more than i, which really confused me. But really, i didn't care and Mightyena didn't either. This was so enjoyable for both Mightyena and I that it didn't bug us much. It had turned out that hiding my blushes was actually a door opening to something that both of us enjoyed, and it was a delight that we had found it.

Our snuggling had both tired us out further then we initially were. The soothing sounds of his tummy and my gentle tummy nuzzles and rubs had soothed both of us beyond belief, and now sleep was both knocking on our doors. I yawned aloud first, shutting my eyes and nestling myself gently against Mightyena. he in turn yawned and curled around my own body, nuzzling me gently. It was an odd feeling, to be held so close to his body like this, but i didn't mind at all. I smiled softly and sniffed a bit, the overwhelming feeling of being loved getting to me a bit. The way he had me snuggled against him.... i felt like not only his friend, i felt like his child in a way. being safely cradled in his arms, away from all of the dangers of the world. This safety and security was the final stimuli i needed to fall fast asleep, and my resting quietly in his embrace lulled Mightyena to sleep soon after. And just as the night before, we slept together in our loving embrace.
