_Authors Notes: I really like it when people plan ahead of time and tell me they are going to show up. Oh so much better than them randomly showing up without warning. It gives me time to exercise the various smells from my house, banishing the odd lingering scent of Dog and Rabbit mingling in the air. Yes, my house smells clean now. Oh gosh, I love planned visits so.

Trace invites Kindling and his cousin Cosmo over for the morning to help be rid the house of various smells that a accumulated from strange cookings and socks thrown about. Trace doesn't even wear socks. It's a mystery/ as to where they come from. She always thinks sock gnomes might keep their stash of left socks from various lands at her house.

The two Candle Foxes arrive at Trace's Burrow, a nice little hole underneath quite a large and ancient tree. Kindling turns to Cosmo and smiles. Cosmo seems a little nervous. "Don't worry Cosmo. It's a really easy job to do," Kindling say. Their job is to be the smell that be rids all other scents in the house. This is Cosmo's first time taking on this type of work with Kindling being his mentor. Kindling is one of the best Scent Exorcists around, and Cosmo doesn't want to make a bad impression on him.

Trace Answers the door, and invites the two inside. The house is quite clean. "Hello there guys, I know that the place seems pretty well off as it is on its own, but I just want to make sure that their aren't any smells hanging around that I'm blind to," Trace explains to the two. Kindling nods, "That won't be a problem. Cosmo would be glad to take this job himself." Kindling nudges Cosmo.

Cosmo grabs his arm nervously, so unsure, "I-I will try my best."

Trace smiles at him, "Thank you Cosmo." Then she leaves the house to leave these two Candle Foxes to their Business.

Cosmo, so tense, takes a deep breath as Trace leaves. He nearly passes out from the nervousness. Kindling goes to hold him up. "Alright, alright. Calm yourself Cosmo, your Fine." Kindling sets Cosmo on one of Trace's wooden Kitchen Chairs. A chair much smaller than the rest. It was made just for Kindling, so it fits their short stature. Trace has her home Exercised of scents often, and thought a chair might be a great addition for her guest's comfort. Cosmo calms himself down finally and looks up to Kindling, "Kindling, I'm alright now."

"That's good Cosmo. Would you like to begin?" Kindling holds out his hand to help Cosmo back up to his feet. Cosmo then pulls out two small paper fans. His stance starts of on one food, the two fans above him. He sparks his purple flames and a wafting scent of Flowers flows into the air. Cosmo then swipes the fans gently, and moves himself across the room gracefully. Each swipe of the fan Casually scooping the scented air from his tail across all parts of the room.

The scent that housed itself before begins to react to the scent of Cosmo's flame. They become visible, and intertwine with one another. "Cosmo," Kindling spoke up, "your doing good. Let the scents dance with you. Draw them out as best you can." Cosmo closes his eyes. He's very nervous, though his Dancing is so graceful and flawless. The two scents intermingle, and pull at one another as he moves. The house soon has all of its scent drawn out; a great ball of of colors swirls in the Kitchen.

"This is it," Cosmo thought, "This is the moment!" Cosmo opens his eyes, his face becomes a bit more serious, but soon becomes too overwhelmed. The slightest ting of weakness shown to the other scent begins to pulls Cosmo's flowerful gust into itself. "This isn't good," Kindling mutters to himself. "Cosmo, Don't worry, I'll help you out!" Kindling shouts out to Cosmo as he sees him stepping back.

Kindling Jumps out in front of Cosmo to finish the Exorcism of these smells. Cosmo begins to tear up a little and thinks to himself, "I made a mess. I made a big mess." He sat their in tears as Kindling pulled the scents out from one another, and turned them into a fine odor of fresh air. Cosmo Stutters through tears, "K-Kindling, I'm.. I'm Really Sorry!" Kindling turns to Cosmo and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Don't worry, you did really good. This was the really tough part. You almost had it. I'm sure you will be able to get it the next time," Kindling reassures Cosmo. "We can come back next time and try again."

Cosmo looks through teary eyes, "I don't want to. I'll mess up again. I'm bad at this."

Kindling puts his arms around Cosmo and hugs him tight, "I'm sorry Cosmo, you can try when your ready again. Even if it's not for a while." Kindling looks at Cosmo's runny nosed faces, and wipes off the tears and snot, "But, in the mean time, would you like to try to finish the scent ritual? I know this is your favorite Part." Cosmo wipes his own face of and nods. He stands up wobbly, and slowly circles around the house letting his fire spark. The house's scent now smells of a flower field as his Candle's scent descends. He then walks back over to Kindling. "I'm done," he says with a half smile.

A knock at the door, and a female voice shouts, "I'm home guys! Is it safe to come in?!" "Kindling shouts back, "Yeah, we just finished."

Trace plows through the door with large bags in hand, and sets them out onto the kitchen Table. She breaths in the air of the newly scented home. "My, this is such an open fragrance. It reminds me of when I went Cloud Gazing" Trace walks over to Cosmo and Crouches down to give him a hands shake. "Thank you so much Cosmo, you've done an amazing job. Would you like a sandwich for your troubles? I just bought some Bread and Jellies to Celebrate." Cosmo looks at Kindling, who shrugs with a smile on his face, then back at Trace who has an even more excited smile on her face. Cosmo Nods with a smile of his own, too.

The three spent the afternoon making PB&J's of many kinds, and setting outside to talk about all sorts of strange stories and tales. They had a really great time together. It soon became time for the two Candle Foxes to be on their way. Kindling looks at Cosmo, "Even though things might not always turn out the best, I always think it's worth it to get through those tough times to see those smiling faces at the end." Cosmo looks back at Kindling, "Even though your scared?"

Kindling smiles, "It just makes times like this even more worth while, I think."

Cosmo looks back at Trace's house as he leaves. Trace waves goodbye to them. "It does," Cosmo said happily. He giggles at himself a bit. "When can we go again?"
