A person in need

Part 2: What's Going on?

Rio was walking through her school, following the sound of an acoustic guitar that drew her in one day ago. Continuing forward, she found the source, A gray wolf sitting on a stool strumming quietly on a guitar. As she approached, he looked up and putting the guitar down, and began to walk towards her. As they came together, he embraced her in a tight hug which she returned fondly. Suddenly she looked up at his lips, moving closer towards hers. As they were about to kiss she awoke.

"What -- where!" she looked around until she noticed she was in her room. She began to hitting her pillow, crying out, frustrated, "Why am I dreaming about him?" She turned around and screamed, pillow on her face. "How does one thing have me so into him!" She then looked at the clock and noticed that she was up two hours early. Getting up she went downstairs to get some breakfast. She sat staring at her toast until she saw the kitchen lights turn on, and her mother come down saying, "What are you doing up so early dear?"

"Couldn't sleep, so I came down her to get something to eat."

"Well, the bus won't be here for at least another hour. Why don't you go up and take a shower?" She said in her motherly voice

"Yeah, I guess you're right." And getting up, she went upstairs and got into the shower. Feeling better for being clean, she got out and dried off. As she went down stairs she heard her brother shout, "C'mon, bus is just down the street!"

Rio started to panic, but then her mother walked in the room. "Don't worry dear, I got your bag and packed your lunch, now get your shoes on and have a great day."

"Thanks mom!" she said running out as the bus showed up. As she took her seat surrounded by her friends, they started bombarding her with questions.

"Why were you almost late?" Alisa, The red Toucan asked.

"How's Zachy?" Mellina, The brown cat teased.

"Did you finish the English homework? 'Cause I need to copy it off of someone." Alisa said.

"I woke up late; I don't know, and no I didn't." Rio replied in a tired voice. The rest of the ride was mostly in silence, with a bit of conversation between Alisa and Mellina. As they got off the bus, Rio headed straight to her locker. As she got there, she saw Zachariah there. He looked as if he had not even changed his clothes, still wearing a pair of ripped jeans and a plain black shirt. As she walked up, he looked up and quickly put something in his bag.

"What was that?" Rio said hoping to make some conversation.

"Work." was his only reply before walking away. Too tired to care, she opened her locker and grabbed her books, then headed to class. She arrived a couple minutes early and saw Zachariah sitting at his desk with his head down and his ear buds in. Taking a chance, she went to the back of the class and sat down beside him.

"Yes?" he said in an uncaring voice.

"I just wanted to talk" She replied, suddenly feeling very stupid.

"About?"

"I don't know, what do you like doing?" she asked, feeling increasingly more stupid by the second.

He gave her a puzzled look, and slowly replied "I like music."

By now, every nerve in her body was screaming at her to leave, and she could feel her cheeks turning red beneath her fur. As the bell rang, she quickly got up and went to her seat as he gave her an odd look and put his head back down. After another uneventful class, in which she was yelled at for not finishing her work, she went off to science and once again tried to start a conversation.

"So how do you like the new school?"

"Uh, It's okay so far."

"That's good, I've gone here since -- " she stopped as he put up his paw.

"Listen, I know the principal made you talk to me, but its okay you don't have to."

"What? No, it's not -- I want â€" uh...." she was stuttering, not knowing how to voice the reason she was really talking to him.

He gave a small sigh and began to walk away. "Wait!" she called after him "Do you want to maybe hang out, or something, after school?" she asked looking down, face turning red.

"I have to do something after school"

"Well maybe I could come with you or something?"

"You won't like it."

"You don't know that." she said looking up.

He gave another small sigh and replied, "Okay then, meet me at our locker after school."

"Okay," she said, walking to class in a much better mood. School could not have gone slower if it was going backwards. But eventually, it ended and she hurried to her locker to wait for Zachariah. After about five minutes, he arrived and they started to walk out together.

"Oh, hold on," she said, reaching down, "I have to call my mother." She pulled out her phone and called her house

"Hello?"

"Hi mom, I'm going out with a friend, so I won't be back for a bit."

"Okay dear, don't stay out to late and stay safe."

"Alright mom, love you."

"love you too, dear."

As she hung up the phone, she saw Zach looking at her with a tired look in his eyes. She gave him a small smile and they started walking.

"How far is this place?" Rio asked about ten minutes into the walk.

"It's just up here." He stopped, as if pondering something. "Are you sure you want to come, 'cause I can give you some money and you can take the bus home?

"No, I'm sure it can't be that bad." she said, though she was starting to get a little freaked out by the surroundings. Everything was dark and there were people in the shadows giving her lusty looks. She got close to Zach and he led her into an alleyway where there was nothing but a door. He walked up and knocked on the door three times. A little slider moved and A voice said "Password"

"Horrorpheliac." He replied in a low voice.

The door opened and they walked in. It was a bar, with groups of kids she had never seen before. They all were wearing black and had piercings and makeup on. At the front of the bar was a stage with no one on it. Zachariah was right, she did not like this place at all. It was scary and she felt out of place. Zachariah noticed her scared look and, grabbing her hand, led her to a dark hallway and into a room with the words Sublime Nightmare written on the door. When they got in he turned towards her and said, "I told you, you wouldn't like it, you can stay in here if you like"

"Uh, okay, but won't that guy Sublime Nightmare get mad?"

"No, that's me. Sublime Nightmare is my goth name."

"Oh, uh, okay then...." She was still scared, but felt oddly better being alone with him.

"Uh, I have to go do something, so you can stay here and I'll be back in about an hour. If you want to find me, go look on that stage I should be there" And he went out the door. Rio just sat, looking around. The windows were blacked out, there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and a broken mirror on the other side of the room. Needless to say, this room did not comfort her much. Thinking that she would just go and see if she could wait with him in the backstage area, she went out looking for him. As she walked down what she believed was the way Zach went, she opened a door and saw a fox dressed in black and a bull with far too many piercings on his face. As she tried to walk out quietly, the fox looked up "Hey! What are you doing here?" The bull then looked up and gave an evil laugh.

"Oh, it appears that this little collie got lost, maybe we should..." he paused with an evil smile "show her around?" They both got up and began to advance on her. She ran as fast as she could, but they were close behind her and not looking in front of her, she ran into something furry. She looked up and saw Zachariah looking down at her with a puzzled look on his face. Until he looked up and saw the fox stop in front of him. Rio quickly got up and got behind him shaking, tail between her legs.

"Alright wolfy, give us the girl and no one has to get hurt."

"Get out of here Roy, you know I can take you."

"Oh yeah but can you take," he turned around but saw no one there. "What! Where's... uh" he ran off, when he saw his muscle had disappeared. Zachariah turned around, looking concerned.

"Uh, are you okay?" Rio did not reply, but began to quietly sob into his chest. His face turned red through his fur and he nervously patted her on the back. "It's okay, they're gone now. Um I'll take you home, it was a bad idea taking you here." They quickly walked out and got on a bus.

"Oh good, it's raining." Zach said in a moody voice, as droplets began to hit the window. When their stop came, he pulled off his coat and put it over her so she would not get wet. She looked up at him but he was looking forward, his face still red. "You're going to have to tell me how to get to your house."

"Okay, w-we get o-off at the n-next stop." she said through her tears.

"And you gotta stop crying, or your parents will be all worried about you, or something."

As the tears slowly began to stop, she noticed her stop was next and they got off and began walking down the street, towards her house. "This is the one." Rio said as she turned into the driveway.

"Okay," He paused "listen, sorry about making you go through all that, next time I'll give you more detail."

She just looked at him then moved forward slowly, until their lips met in a kiss. His eyes went wide and she moved in closer, wrapping her arms around him. Slowly, she felt him put his arms around her in a tight embrace. Suddenly, she no longer noticed the rain, only Zachariah and the warm feeling she got in his warm embrace. Their kiss could have lasted forever and still would not be long enough. As she broke it, Rio suddenly felt the cold of the night come back to her, and looking at him one last time, turned and ran inside. When she closed the door, she felt a lot better. She went up stairs quickly to avoid questions from her mother and quickly got into the shower. Getting out feeling a lot better, she grab went to her room and, putting her dirty cloths on the floor, noticed Zachariah's jacket in the pile. Smiling to herself, she grabbed it and, despite how wet it was, wrapped it around herself, and went into a deep sleep.

Zachariah could not do anything but stand there. He had just been kissed by a girl he had only known for two days. He felt odd, it was a good feeling, but still, it was odd. As the shock of the whole ordeal wore off, and he began to think strait, he felt very good, a lot better than he had felt in a long time. he slowly turned and began to walk to the bus stop, feeling suddenly empty without her presence, and found himself looking forward to tomorrow.

END

well another story finished. I'm having a lot of fun writing these and hopefully, I'll have the next one up of the week.

Yeah I already know that it is so predictable with the whole guy saving girl, girl kissing guy sorta thing but I love stories like that and wanted it like that so deal with it.

Once again special thanks go to Lucien Lurderna for editing and my friend Zechariah for giving me a good name to use (sorry I spelt it wrong <=P). Hope you enjoyed the story
