#3 of The Headsman and the Pianist

Generally I don't write disclaimers before my stories but, I feel that a disclaimer is warranted due to the subject matter that I will be exploring in this series. Aside from the gay relationships and accompanying sex. This series will also contain violence, racism, themes of genocide, and other not so nice things. This chapter contains a scene of attempted rape. It doesn't get too far, but I just thought I would warn any sensitive readers.

Thanks for reading :)

January 16th, 1904

I grimaced as I adjusted my shoulder sling. I wasn't looking forward to the prospect of wearing this uncomfortable piece of cloth for another three weeks. It was early in the morning, and the sun was still low in the sky. It hadn't started to get hot yet, which meant the pain in my arm was bearable. The heat messed with my arm and made it throb painfully. I adjusted myself again and walked over to stand in front of the impromptu gallows that Herr Von Hoft directed us to set up a few days ago.

Ever since the skirmish on the outskirts of the property Von Hoft believed that more needed to be done to dissuade the natives from attacking. Public execution was the solution he had landed on. Since I could stand, Von Hoft put me in charge of these executions. The ones today would be the third and fourth in three days. On top of this, I still had my other duties, but all that was required of me was to deputize members of my crew to go out to the outskirts of the property and supervise in my stead.

That meant that I got to spend more quality time with Klaus. He and I hadn't had another night like the one shared after I had been shot, but the human did find ways to sneak out of his house and spend time with me. Soon, I murred at the thought of it, Herr Von Hoft was taking a long trip into Windhoek. That would give us lots of opportunities to spend more time together. Maybe we even could take our relationship to the next level.

I sighed, but managed to shoot Klaus a smile as he and his father walked out to our execution ground. I didn't think Von Hoft was actually serious about taking his son out to watch one of these. The young man returned my smile and looked down at his feet. Hopefully, this one would be quick, for everyone's sake.

Alfred hauled the two young humans we were executing out of the small shack we set aside to hold our prisoners. They were two brothers, one 19 and one about 13, who had been caught trying to make off with some of Von Hoft's cattle. Klaus turned white as a sheet as the youngest boy made eye contact with him. I looked over the two boys and sighed. I didn't see why humans made such a big deal about skin color, aside from that glaring difference, they really didn't look that different. I'm sure if I looked closely, I'd find some differences, but to me, they were all simply humans.

The younger one started to babble something in his native language, but was stopped by a snarl and a vicious cuff from Alfred. It worried me how much the Honey Badger enjoyed stuff like this. I found it very emotionally taxing to watch, let alone direct these grim proceedings. Klaus shivered and closed his eyes. Von Hoft scoffed and led Klaus over to me roughly. I reached my paw down to my holster and clenched my fist. Luckily, I caught myself before anybody saw and calmed down.

"Gustav," Von Hoft stood his son in front of me, "Perhaps you can help me make my son more of a man. Can I put him on your work crew?"

I blinked. This was an interesting move for Von Hoft. I welcomed it. It meant that I could keep Klaus close.

"There's always room," I tried to sound as neutral in the matter as possible, "May I ask why?"

The older human scoffed.

"I didn't want to believe it," Von Hoft spat, "But my son is a filthy buggerer. He can stay on the estate, but he is no longer my son. Do with him as you will."

Klaus bit his lip and tried not to break down and cry. I sighed and put a paw on the young man's shoulder. Fortunately, it seemed that Von Hoft didn't know about our relationship. If that were the case, I'd be probably be getting executed today too.

"Alright," I began, "I'll see what I can do."

Von Hoft nodded politely at me and went over to Alfred. Alfred had become my second in command. The Honey Badger was a vicious, savage bastard, but very dependable and loyal.

"How did he find out?" I asked, "What happened?"

Klaus rubbed his arm.

"A friend from school sent me a letter," Klaus replied, "I told him where I was going, but I didn't think he'd actually send me anything. My father read it, and yeah... I guess I'm not his son anymore."

I shook my head.

"He'll come around," I began, "Besides, this way you get to spend lots of time with me."

Klaus smiled slightly and stopped as he saw Alfred kneel the two boys down in front of the gallows. I looked over and sighed. I really didn't want Klaus to see this.

"Stand back a bit with the other guys," I ordered, "Don't look away. Be strong. Show them that you're one of them."

Klaus nodded and scurried over to the crew. I sighed and walked up to Alfred. Members of the boys' tribe and other neighboring tribes arrived and stood, proud and silent. Their hate made the air heavy. I could tell they were dreaming of revenge, of terrible ways to get back at us for this. I didn't care. This was law and revenge of our own. Four of our guys, of my crew, died during and after the skirmish. The way I saw it, one of ours was worth all of theirs.

"Herr Von Hoft only wants us to hang one of them," Alfred began, "We'll shoot the other one."

I nodded.

"The boss said to hang the younger one," Alfred looked down at the older brother, "And shoot the older one after he's dead."

I shuddered. This was not going to be a quick and easy execution. Our gallows was tall, which meant that during a hanging, the prisoner's neck would be snapped by his own weight. This would spare the audience from the grisly scene of someone suffocating to death. I shook my head.

"The young one is too light," I replied, "I don't want to sit around and wait for him to die. Bring the older one up there."

I started to feel queasy. Alfred was the one who ran the gallows which meant that I would have to be the one who shot the kid. I suppose it was better that way, at least Alfred wouldn't get too excited or get carried away up there. The Honey Badger looked at me with wide eyes.

"That's not what Von Hoft said to do," Alfred whined, "What if he gets angry at us?"

For reasons unknown to me, the only thing that scared Alfred was Von Hoft. Alfred could easily rip the hefty old German apart, but acted like a kicked puppy in his presence. I looked up to Von Hoft's vantage point, the back porch of the house.

"He won't be able to tell the difference from the porch," I began, "If he has an issue with it, he can talk to me. Come on, let's get this done."

Alfred nodded and wrenched the 19 year old human up from his feet. The younger one cried out and grabbed out for him. I sighed, pulled out my revolver, and put the tip of it to the young human's head. He stopped, and started to cry, his tears soaking the dusty ground beneath him. The crowd fell started to grumble and shout abusively.

"P-Please," The boy said in broken German, "P-Please."

"Quiet kid," I pulled the hammer back, "It'll be over soon enough."

I looked up at the gallows. The older boy was facing his death with dignity. He didn't react, even as the noose was tightened around his neck. Alfred looked up at me, waiting for my go ahead. I surveyed over the crowd, passing over the sea of black and furred faces staring angrily at me. I glanced back at my men, and nearly burst into tears at the horrified look on Klaus's face. He was doing as I told him, and I hated myself for it.

"Do it," I looked back at Alfred, "Do it."

With a crash, the gallows floor dropped out from underneath the young man. For what seemed like an eternity, the human dropped. When the rope finally went taut, the boy's neck didn't snap. He gasped and wriggled, his dark brown hands gripping feebly at the thick rope. The crowd began to get agitated, if this went on any longer, there'd be a riot on our hands. The teenager kneeling in front of me screamed in anger.

I snarled and, fighting every instinct and impulse in my body, fired into the back of the human's head. As the younger brother lay dead in front of me, I raised my gun and emptied it into the dangling young man under the gallows. Alfred, who was watching, mesmerized, as the human fought to breathe, looked up in shock at the sound of the gunfire. I quickly reloaded my pistol, and pointed it at the crowd of natives.

"Show's over," I growled, "Get the hell out of here. Or you'll be next."

The crowd glared at me and only started to move when the rest of my crew readied their weapons. If my men hadn't have searched them all before coming onto the property, we all would have been dead.

"You'll get yours Headsman!" A woman shouted from the crowd, "You'll get yours!"

I holstered my gun as Herr Von Hoft ran up behind me, his pudgy face red from exertion.

"What," Von Hoft wheezed into a white and pink handkerchief, "What the hell was that!?"

"They're dead aren't they?" I replied, "If we would have let that boy suffocate to death. That crowd would have torn us apart. I handled it."

Von Hoft grumbled and shook his head.

"Get rid of these bodies," Von Hoft began, "I've got to leave for Windhoek today. I want you to take the men I don't take with me and have them guard the borders. I want double the usual watchmen."

"Yes Herr Von Hoft," I replied, "I'll handle it."

"Good," Herr Von Hoft coughed and wiped his face again, "You're head of the estate until I return. Keep things running smoothly."

I was too emotionally drained to have much of a reaction. The older man patted my shoulder and walked away. Alfred came up to me and stood at attention in front of me.

"So," Alfred began, "What did Herr Von Hoft want?"

"He's leaving for a bit," I began, "We need to do double the normal security. Can you be in charge of that?"

Alfred looked like a schoolboy who got an extra helping of dessert. It would have been cute if the Honey Badger wasn't a total psychopath.

"You mean it?" Alfred beamed, "I'm in charge?"

"Yeah," I replied, "Report to me every morning and night. If you need anything, let me know and I'll make sure you guys get it."

Alfred nodded and walked over to the crew. Klaus looked very nervous as Alfred got close to him with a smirk. He told them my order and smiled widely as they did as they were told. Klaus stood awkwardly in front of the Honey Badger. I stayed within earshot, but knew to better to make a move unless something happened.

"So," Alfred chuckled, "Your father asked me to take you out and teach you a few things. I know about what happened. I'm sorry you got kicked out, but I'll take good care of you."

Klaus rubbed his arm.

"Are you sure?" Klaus asked, "I'm not sure if I'm ready to go out."

"Alfred," I began, "Maybe I should teach him a bit before he goes out on security detail. He's a bit soft."

Alfred shook his head.

"Herr Von Hoft told me to do it today," The Honey Badger began, "It was a direct order."

I nodded. There wasn't much I could do. Alfred would do whatever Herr Von Hoft told him no matter what. The human should be safe. Alfred wouldn't dare to hurt the boss's kid.

"Is there room in the crew quarters for him?" I asked, "I know we have a bunch of new arrivals. If I need to I can make up a cot in my cabin."

"That would be best," Alfred nodded, "At least until some of these newbies die off."

"Ok," I raised a finger, "Alfred, don't put a gun in his hands until I teach him how to shoot. Wait here, let me get him some supplies and give him the rundown."

The Honey Badger nodded and stayed still. I took the human to my cabin and closed the door behind me. He ran into my arms and started to sob. With a heavy sigh, I held him and rubbed his back. It felt so good to hold him like this.

"You've got to get it together," I began, "You can't be weak in front of these guys. If something goes bad they won't help you if they don't think you're worth it."

Klaus shuddered and looked up at me.

"You killed them," Klaus replied, "How could you?"

"I-I," I rubbed the back of my neck, "It's my job."

"That doesn't make it right," Klaus pushed away from me, "They were children!"

I wasn't sure what to say.

"I can't even look at you," Klaus continued, "How can I be with anyone who could kill a child?"

"I-I'm sorry," I walked forward and put my paw on the human's cheek, "I have to follow orders Klaus. I don't know what you want me to say."

"Are you sorry?" Klaus slapped my paw away and paced angrily in front of me, "Really? How am I supposed to believe that?"

I looked up at the human, my ears lowered.

"Because I said it," I began, "And I am. I can't let this tear me up. If I do, I lose face, with more than just the guys. If your father thinks I can't cut it, he'll get rid of me."

Klaus sniffled and got back into my arms.

"I can't hate you," Klaus cried into my chest, "But I want to."

"I know kid," I replied and kissed the top of his head, "After I saw the look on your face, I started hating me too."

Someone knocked on the window behind us. We broke apart, and Alfred walked into the cabin with a smirk on his face. I didn't know how much he saw, but it was enough.

"Well well," Alfred chuckled, "Gustav likes the soft meat too. I never would have guessed."

My paw went down to my gun.

"Is there going to be a problem?" I asked, "Or can I trust you to keep this quiet?"

Alfred put up his paws.

"You can," Alfred grinned and pointed at the human, "But only if he trusts me."

"What do you mean?" I asked, relaxing and moving my paw away from my gun.

"Well, if he and I get a chance to maybe, uh," Alfred chuckled and looked over the human, "Get a chance to be friends."

Klaus blanched.

"Just don't hurt him," I began, "I get any word of you hurting him, and I'll kill you."

Alfred smirked.

"I'm glad were on the same page," Alfred started to leave, "I'll be waiting Klaus."

Klaus's jaw dropped as the Honey Badger closed the door behind him. I reached into a dilapidated old chest, pulled out an ancient-looking single-action revolver, and put it into his hands. This was my first revolver, one that got me through a lot of close calls.

"Pull the hammer back and shoot him if he goes too far," I began, "He shouldn't hurt you."

"O-ok," Klaus hid the gun in his pants, "I know we don't have a choice. I-I trust you."

I kissed the human on the forehead.

"I'll see you in my bed tonight," I kissed him again, "Don't worry, just be you. He'll be way more interested in taking care of you that way."

Klaus sighed and nodded. He walked out of my cabin and closed the door behind him. I watched Alfred put his arm around Klaus and felt anger coursing through my veins. There was nothing I could do right now. I needed to think.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The human walked into my cabin just after sunset. I was sitting at my desk looking at a map of the property by candlelight, trying to identify potential weaknesses in our defenses. Klaus closed the door and cleared his throat, pulling me out of my thoughts. He looked good. His skin was tan, something I found very attractive on him.

"So," I put the maps away and turned my chair around to face him, "Was everything ok?"

Klaus nodded.

"It was," Klaus began, "It was really quiet, and Alfred took me all around the property. He was very good to me."

I smiled. I had been worried. I knew how the Honey Badger could be with potential sexual conquests. The fact that he didn't try anything too drastic boded well. I finished up the last bit of food, a bite of steak with some local vegetables, and set my plate to the side.

"Did you eat?" I asked, "I can get you something from the house if you like."

"I did," Klaus smiled, "Someone shot an antelope and we had a cookout."

"Sounds fun," I got up and embraced the human, "Did Alfred... try anything?"

Klaus shook his head and hugged me back.

"No," The human replied, "He was very kind."

Alfred knocked on the door and entered my cabin. He smiled at Klaus and turned to look at me.

"Everything was quiet boss," The Honey Badger began, "I'm heading back out there. Klaus, would you like to come with me?"

The human shook his head.

"It's been a long day Alfred," Klaus looked back at Gustav, "Is it alright if I sleep?"

I nodded.

"Let him sleep," I began, "I'll teach him how to shoot tomorrow, and maybe he'll be able to handle a night shift. Is that alright with you Alfred?"

"Yes," Alfred looked back to the human and smiled, "Looks like I'll see you tomorrow."

Klaus walked up and hugged the Honey Badger. Alfred chuckled and nuzzled into Klaus's neck as he returned the hug, eliciting a giggle from the human. I stifled a growl as Alfred's paws roamed low over the human's back. I trusted Klaus. I knew that if he did anything with Alfred it would be because he had to, not because he wanted to be with him.

"Thanks for everything Alfred," Klaus pulled back from the hug, "I'll see you later."

I bit my lip until the Honey Badger left my cabin.

"Fucking smug bastard," I shook my head and put out the candles, "Who does he think he is touching you like that in front of me?"

Klaus sighed.

"I don't think he's looking for something like you and I have," The human replied, "I think he just wants a friend. Someone who will actually talk to him. You guys give him a really hard time."

I scoffed.

"Because he's a monster," I replied, "He actually likes killing."

Klaus shook his head and started to strip down to his underwear.

"Because it's his job," Klaus sighed and got into the cot, "I'm sure he's just coping with it, just like you do. I'm sleeping here tonight."

I scoffed. My coping mechanism wasn't killing whores or shooting natives just to watch them die. I knew Klaus was bluffing. He'd get in my bed tonight.

"Suit yourself."

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I woke up screaming that night. I shot out of bed, shivering and panting hard, tears streaking my muzzle fur. I dreamed that I was at the execution again, but this time, Chris was the one kneeling at my feet. With a shudder, I pushed those thoughts out of my mind and walked out into the cabin. Chris's cot was empty.

"What the hell?" I growled and picked up a note off of the human's pillow.

Gustav

I'm going to the west watch post with Alfred. I'll see you tomorrow.

Klaus

I growled and crumpled up the note in my paw. The fact that Klaus felt the need to sneak out really worried me. I took a few deep breaths to calm my nerves and then dressed myself. It was going to be a hard ride, one that would probably fuck my shoulder up worse than it already was, but it needed to be done. I had to know exactly what was going on. I walked out of the cabin and slammed the door closed behind me.

My horse whinnied in excitement as I walked into the stable. It had been a while since the stallion had seen me. I readied my saddle and pulled myself up onto his back with my good arm. I grunted in pain as my horse started to walk out of the stable, jostling my arm with each step. With my good arm, I directed my horse towards the west watch post. Fortunately for me, it was the closest one to the house. I gritted my teeth as we started to move faster.

After what seemed like an eternity, I rode up behind the watch post. This was the most primitive watch post on the property. It was a lean-to, a ramshackle tin roof stacked on top of a crude wooden frame. The orange flickering of fire lit up the dark African night. I left my horse further behind the shack and crept up to a hole in the back wall.

Alfred and Klaus were sitting together, very close. The Honey Badger had his arm around the human and was sipping coffee out of a small metal cup.

"Gustav is worried about me spending time with you," Klaus sighed, "He said you were a monster."

The Honey Badger scoffed and shook his head.

"Typical," Alfred sighed, "How much do you know about Furs?"

"Quite a lot," Klaus replied, "At least I think I do."

"Some Furs are more feral than others," Alfred finished his coffee, "I'm one of them. I try not to be, but sometimes, I just black out. When I wake up, something terrible has happened."

"Is that why you work for my father?" Klaus asked.

The Honey Badger sighed and nodded.

"My tribe didn't want me around once the settlers came," Alfred began, "They thought I was too unpredictable."

"I'm sorry," Klaus sighed, "I guess I know how it feels to have a family who doesn't want you anymore."

"You still have a family," Alfred smiled, "You have me, Gustav, and all the guys. Everyone likes you Klaus. We can be your family now."

I could have been wrong. Alfred may have just been looking for a friend. For reasons unknown to me at the time, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was very wrong. Alfred looked over at Klaus and nuzzled into the human's neck.

"It's easier to stop myself when I think of you," Alfred began, "I feel so much more in control."

Klaus blinked.

"What do you mean?" The human asked.

I bit back a growl. Alfred may have been dependable and obedient, but I didn't trust him in the slightest. If the worst happened, and Alfred lost control with the human, I wouldn't hesitate to put him down like the feral he was.

"When I'm by myself out here," Alfred started rubbing over the human's arm, "It's harder to keep the bad side of me from coming out. You keep it at bay."

"So I'm like the Beauty to your Beast," Klaus chuckled.

My fists clenched as Alfred's free paw moved to the human's chin. The Honey Badger smiled and looked into Klaus's crystal blue eyes.

"You are a beauty," Alfred stroked Klaus's chin, "I didn't know humans could look like you."

Klaus chuckled and looked away with a gentle blush. Alfred's paw gently moved over the human's neck and started to toy with the fabric of Klaus's shirt. I felt my anger boiling inside of me and barely managed to stop my fingers from grasping the handle of my revolver.

"Alfred," Klaus started to look uncomfortable, "What are you doing?"

"Checking something," Alfred traced over Klaus's neck with a claw, "How does this feel?"

Klaus shivered and gasped as the Honey Badger's other paw moved down to his crotch. I couldn't stop myself now, my fingers gripped my revolver. I didn't know how to stop this. If Klaus wanted it, I was going to make things very difficult for everyone involved. I couldn't leave and assume things would be ok. I knew Alfred wouldn't stop, even if Klaus begged him.

"Alfred," Klaus practically whimpered with need as the Honey Badger started kissing his way up the human's neck, "S-Stop, P-"

Alfred murred and plastered his lips against the human's lips. My ears drooped. I could smell Klaus's arousal. Even if he tried to say no, his body, and by extension Alfred, wouldn't. I shuddered as I heard the Honey Badger's lips repeatedly make contact with Klaus's. His hands were pressed against Alfred's chest as he tried, unsuccessfully, to push him away.

"Please don't make me do this," Klaus whimpered, "It would break Gustav's heart."

Alfred smirked and fondled the human's package.

"I thought you were mad at him," Alfred began, "Besides, your body wants this. You're hard as a rock."

Klaus bit back a moan as the Honey Badger's other paw went down the back of his pants.

"But I don't," Klaus whimpered as Alfred snarled and kissed him lustfully.

Klaus shuddered and hit Alfred's shoulders with his clenched fists as the Honey Badger slipped his tongue into his mouth. That was the last straw. I drew my revolver and banged the butt of it on the roof of the watch post. Alfred looked up, his eyes wild as he realized it was me. Klaus tried even harder to get out of Alfred's grasp, but stopped and cried out in pain as Alfred threw him aside.

"Get the fuck away from him," I snarled and directed Alfred to step out of the watch post, "Out there, or I'll shoot."

Alfred started to breathe heavily. Klaus stood up and moved away.

"Please," Klaus held up his hands, "Just talk about this."

I growled as the Honey Badger stood his ground.

"Stand back Klaus," I began, "No one does that to you and gets away with it."

Alfred howled in rage and lunged at me. I pulled the trigger and hit the ground with Alfred on top of me. I faintly felt the wetness of the Honey Badger's blood on my abdomen as Alfred's fist cannoned into my left eye. After that all of the punches blended together. My face erupted in pain, and blood welled up in my nose and mouth. I screamed out in pain as Alfred turned his attention to my chest and broken shoulder.

Alfred stopped hitting me long enough for to spray out the blood in my nose and mouth and shakily inhale. I looked up at him through my swollen eyes and met my gaze with his bloodshot, brown eyes. The utter savagery of the attack shocked me, and kept me from reacting the way I should have. He hadn't pinned my arms down. If I were thinking, I would have gouged those beady brown eyes right out of his skull.

Alfred bared his teeth in a snarl and closed his paws around my throat. I gasped and sputtered as my air was cut off. The Honey Badger bent down, putting his full strength into strangling me. All I could hear was the sound of my heartbeat pounding in my ears. My paws feebly clawed at his strong grip, and my feet kicked out desperately to find enough leverage to push Alfred off of me. My vision started to fade, and I went limp. Suddenly, Alfred jumped off of me and disappeared from my sight. I shuddered and took the three of the most painful breaths I had ever taken. Klaus took Alfred's place in my dim and blurry vision.

"Gustav," He began, his tears spattering on my face, "Gustav I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have left."

I tried to talk, but only managed to wheeze out a mixture of spittle and blood. This almost hurt as bad as being shot.

"Don't speak," Klaus sniffled and wiped my face with his sleeve, "I shot him, twice. He ran off."

Using all of my strength, I sat up. Klaus looked around nervously.

"He's dead," I spat out, "Even if he's not, he won't come back."

Klaus sniffled and looked out over the savanna behind us.

"They're coming," Klaus began, "What do I say?"

I shook my head.

"Say he tried to rape you," I began, "Say I stepped in, and he attacked me. In other words, the truth."

Klaus nodded and put my gun away.

"I'm so sorry," Klaus rubbed his arm, "I should have stayed in the cabin like you told me to."

I shakily got to my feet. Klaus ran to my side and helped me. I looked up at him and wiped a tear from his face.

"You can't be crying Klaus," I began, "Be strong. They'll think you were asking for it if you act weak."

Klaus nodded and stood apart from me. I didn't want to seem harsh, or uncaring, but there was a certain standard that needed to be upheld. If anyone else found out about Klaus and me, the crew would kick us off of the property.

"You can break down tonight," I continued, "Wait until we get home."

"Home?" Klaus asked.

"You heard me," I looked out into the night at the rapidly approaching torches, "Home, the cabin is ours now as far as I am concerned."

Ernst was the first Fur on the scene. He looked over it slowly, his yellow eyes widening at the sight of my bloody and bruised body. Klaus stepped forward.

"It was Alfred," Klaus sighed, "He attacked me, then Gustav. We shot him."

"You aren't injured," Ernst's eyes went wide as he realized what happened, "Oh God. My poor boy."

Ernst hugged the human tightly.

"Ernst," I spat out a mouthful of blood, "Can you be in charge? Report to me each morning and night."

Ernst nodded.

"Will you be taking Klaus with you?" Ernst asked, "He may need to see a doctor."

Klaus raised a hand.

"It's ok," The human began, "He didn't get as far as that. I'm going to make sure Gustav is ok. If I go out to the borders of the property, I'll go out with you when you report in."

"What do I tell the men?" Ernst asked.

Ernst was dependable and loyal, but had no initiative. He had to be told what to do, and couldn't figure things out on his own. Lucky for me, the other males on the crew were able to do that. I had nothing to worry about.

"Tell them that we were attacked by Alfred," I began, "No details Ernst."

Klaus walked over to my side and started to help me walk back to my horse. Ernst nodded and followed us. The Owl stood behind the shack and waited for the torches to come up. I shrugged off Klaus's help and shakily climbed up onto my horse.

"You'll have to hold the reins," I began, "My body hurts too much."

Klaus got onto the horse in front of me. I held on to Klaus tightly. It was hard to keep up my tough front. I wasn't about to cry. What I wanted was to hold him, to kiss him, to make sure my soul knew that he was with me fully. Klaus ushered my horse on, and we started the very brief ride back to my cabin. We went around the torchbearers. Klaus was smart enough to avoid that discussion.

This ride seemed much faster than the last one, probably because I blacked out. Klaus woke me up once we were safely in the stable. I groaned and got off of the horse, just barely managing to stay on my feet. The human ran outside and a got a pail of clean water and a rag. He sat me down on a box, and started to clean me up. I had stopped bleeding, but my fur was matted with old, dried blood.

"There we go," Klaus smiled at me as he finished up, "Much better."

I nuzzled his cheek and left a smear of blood and water.

"Can we go home?" I asked, "I want to go to bed."

"I-I," Klaus paused and nodded, "Ok."

I chuckled.

"What?" I asked, "What is it?"

Klaus looked up and kissed my forehead gently.

"I want to," Klaus blushed and reached down to hold my paw, "I want to show you that I love you. I want you to make love to me."

I wanted to, but my body was not having it. Making that human moan and writhe under me may have been one of my top priorities but, I just didn't have the strength, at least not enough to do it right.

"I can't darling," I sighed, "I'm hurting too bad."

Klaus blushed harder.

"I'll do all the work," Klaus began, "I just... I want Alfred's scent off of me. I want tonight to be about us, not about what he did, what he tried to do."

That may be something I could do.

"Let's go home," I smiled, "To our bed."

I led the way, grimacing in pain with each step. Klaus put his hand on my shoulder, letting me know he was close and ready to help if I needed it. We walked into the cabin and I nearly fell over. I didn't realize how much strength it took to keep me from passing out. Klaus kissed my cheek.

"Do you want me to help you out of your clothes?" Klaus asked.

I grumbled and shook my head. Klaus looked over me and walked into my bedroom. As he left my sight, he causally stripped his shirt and let it fall to the floor. I chuckled quietly and gave him a few seconds before walking in to the room. He was naked, and lying on his stomach. I drank in the sight of his naked body, spending extra time on the human's taut, firm buttocks.

"Aren't you going to join me?" Klaus looked back at me with a smile, flashing his perfect, white teeth.

I slowly shed my clothes and got into my bed with a groan. The human was at my side in an instant, his soft fingers caressing my fur and tired body.

"I'm going to have to keep you from all the hard work," I closed my eyes and smiled, "Your hands are just so soft. I want to keep them that way."

Klaus leaned down and kissed me.

"Klaus," I looked up at the human as he straddled my crotch, "I don't think you should kiss me. My lip is pretty fat, and I don't know if I'm still bleeding in there. It might be pretty disgusting."

Klaus shook his head and kissed me again.

"You aren't," He replied, "Do you want me to do this?"

I laughed.

"Of course I want you to do this," I raised my good arm up to stroke the human's side, "I just don't know if my body will."

"I'll tell you what," Klaus's hand snaked between my thighs, "If we can, we will."

I closed my eyes and sighed happily as the human's dexterous fingers started to fondle my sheath and balls. Even though my body was tired, pangs of arousal still shot through my mind. I let out a low moan as Klaus turned his attention to the tip my slowly emerging member. Klaus chuckled and started stroking my slowly growing length.

"See," Klaus chuckled, "I knew you'd be up for it."

I opened an eye just in time to see Klaus take a dollop of my pre on his fingers and bring it behind him. The human moaned quietly as he penetrated himself with the fingers. This wasn't right. Our first time together should have been something special. My body didn't care about my mind's protestations. My cock was already hard and throbbing.

"No foreplay?" I chuckled as Klaus took more of my pre to lube himself up with.

Klaus moaned again and chuckled.

"Next time," Klaus began, "When you've got full range of motion."

I suppose that was fair. After all, we'd done practically everything but full out sex. There was no unwritten rule that said we had to do everything in one session. I still wanted to do that, there were things I wanted to do to Klaus that would make his head spin. The feeling of Klaus's tightness enveloping my tip stirred me from my thoughts. The human blushed and gasped as he slowly worked his way down. He stopped every couple of seconds, and moved his hips up over a small portion of my cock, giving me more stimulation.

"O-oh Gustav," Klaus moaned loudly, his head thrown back in ecstasy.

I raised an eyebrow. I didn't think I was deep enough to warrant that wonderful, sexy noise. Klaus must have been one of those males who was born to take it in the ass. I reached up with both paws, grimacing as my broken shoulder twinged painfully, and put them on Klaus's hips. I sat up, shuddering as Klaus took all of me. The human steadied himself on my chest, making me wince in pain as he hit one of my many bruises.

"S-sorry," Klaus blushed and moved that hand to my uninjured shoulder, "Better?"

I panted and bent my head down to kiss it.

"Much," I looked down at where our hips met, "Are you going to take all of me? Even the knot?"

Klaus stroked over my chest.

"I want to," Klaus began, "I'm sure as hell going to try."

With that, Klaus started to slowly move his hips. I moaned loudly and closed my eyes. Klaus was very good at this. Every motion, whether it was up and down or back and forth, was intended to showcase how his inner walls fit me like a glove and how much he enjoyed having me inside of him. The human cried out passionately with each movement, his own uncut cock erect and bobbing with each motion of his hips. I started rocking my hips in time with his motions, making us both moan in ecstasy.

We rocked against each other slowly for a long while, savoring this close contact with each other. As we did, I found myself amazed by Klaus's stamina. I had been ridden before, but never for this long and this well. The human showed no signs of tiring or slowing down. The human bent down and kissed me again. We maintained the kiss, our lips and tongues meeting and intertwining with each other. Klaus pulled away and looked into my eyes.

"Ready to take it up a notch?" Klaus murred.

"You mean there's more?" I chuckled, "It scares me that you're so good at this."

"You ain't seen nothing yet," Klaus winked, "Hold on baby. It's going to be a wild ride."

Klaus kept doing the same motions, only much faster. I growled and panted in pleasure, my fully formed knot throbbing at the human's entrance. Klaus raised an eyebrow as my growls and pants turned into pleasured yips and needy whines.

"Already?" Klaus murred and angled his hips in preparation to take the knot, "Aren't you going to get me off first."

With a loud, dominate growl, I started pistoning my hips into the human. I smirked as the human let out a loud and effeminate moan and came, hard, over my chest. I don't think he saw that coming. Klaus shivered and slammed his hips down onto my knot, taking it inside of him with a lewd squelch. The human gripped me tightly as I trembled and flooded him with my essence. This was the best orgasm of recent memory, and I rode it out, my arms wrapped tightly around the half passed out human on my chest.

"Klaus," I licked the human's cheek, "How was that?"

Klaus smiled and nuzzled up into me.

"Fine," Klaus yawned, "Is your shoulder ok?"

I chuckled and nodded.

"It hardly even hurts at all," I replied, "All I can feel is you."

"Do you forgive me?" Klaus looked up at me, "For tonight?"

"Is that was this was about?" I raised an eyebrow, "You didn't need to do this for forgiveness."

Klaus smiled and shook his head.

"This was because I wanted to," Klaus began, "Do you though?"

I sighed.

"Of course I do," I replied, "I love you Klaus."

Klaus's eyes opened wide.

"Y-you love me?" Klaus asked, "Are you sure?"

I was. Things like Klaus only happened once in a life time. I knew it, the universe knew it, and deep down, Klaus did too. Deep down, he loved me too. It pained me, but I knew that Klaus didn't feel this, at least not yet. His life in Europe was still close enough for him to miss. Once he was here with me for a while, he'd come around.

"I'm positive," I began, "I love you Klaus Von Hoft."

Klaus blushed.

"I don't think I like that name anymore," Klaus replied, "What's your last name?"

I chuckled.

"Löwe," I began, "Why? Do you like it?"

"Maybe I'd like to make it my own," Klaus kissed the side of my muzzle, "If that's alright with you."

My eyes went wide as I realized what Klaus was suggesting.

"You mean marriage?" I asked, "Klaus we can't, no one would marry us."

"I know it can't be official," Klaus sighed, "But it would be to me."

"You want that level of commitment?" I chuckled, "We've just met."

Klaus rubbed his arm. I knew what he was about to say before he said it.

"Do you really want to risk not doing it?" Klaus asked, "Either of us could die tomorrow. It seems like someone dies here every day. What if one of us is next? Wouldn't it be better to do it now, so if the worst happens we can at least have some time together?"

The human was right. I didn't want to think about my mortality, but the events of the past couple of weeks really put my life, and how tenuous my grasp on it really was, into perspective.

"Ok," I began, "How do you want to do it? We can't get it done in a church."

"I really don't think God will mind," Klaus chuckled, "I'm sure people who commit worse sins still get into Heaven. Let's just do something small, just the two of us."

I thought for a moment.

"There's a waterfall in the woods," I began, "It's dangerous to get there and will take a couple of days, but it's secluded."

Klaus nodded.

"How would we slip away?" Klaus asked, "When would we do this?"

"As soon as possible," I replied, "We'll cook up some excuse, and go."

The human smiled.

"Ok," He cuddled up into me, "Are you ready for bed?"

I nodded and yawned.

"Go ahead and sleep," Klaus began, "I'll get comfortable once the tie is finished."

I shook my head and rolled onto my side. Klaus blushed and sighed happily as I held him tightly to me. I kissed his forehead.

"Better?" I asked.

"Better," Klaus closed his eyes, "Good night love."

I smiled and kissed his forehead again.

"Good night."
