#4 of Winter Class

This time, we are introduced to our first main female character! She's a German Sheppard, so expect 'playful tomboy'.

Oh, and before you all start reading, I decided to do a thing that allows you readers to give me input on what character you want to learn more about! You see, here is what you do...

  1. Post a comment saying which character in my Winter Class series you want to learn more about (Brett, Jey, Vole, etc.)

  2. I will look through the comment section in every chapter. Every 5 chapters, I will write a sub-story about the character that gets the most votes!

This will allow you, readers, to learn more about the particular character's background, history, etc.

Your welcome!

Anyways, please enjoy this chapter and don't forget to comment on who you want to learn more about! Fav/Rating is also appreciated ;)

Winter Class ~Chapter 4~

It's only been the second day of my senior class trip to Alaska and I've already had to deal with way too much than I should be able to handle. I'm not being dramatic here - it's that bad. In fact, I'm pretty sure something else is going to happen soon that's going to screw my life over three times.

Vole is in my bed again, under the bed sheets. He's got a shirt on, so he isn't naked like before (which was totally awkward and amazing, by the way). Trying to stay as quiet as possible, I stagger over to the sink in the little kitchenette area of the room. He seems really tired - his snoring is super loud and obnoxious. Maybe I was too rough on him yesterday? Sleeping on the couch and all...

I threw up a bit more in the sink (in little spurts, so it doesn't make much noise) and threw the plastic bag with my vomit in it into the trashcan. Gross - smelled like puke everywhere, pun intended. Looking back, Vole is still in the exact same position on the bed, sleeping like a pup. Shockingly enough, he looks pretty cute when he's sleeping. His tail is flopped over, sticking out outside of the sheets he is under and he is all scrunched up into a little ball of sorts. Vole's face looks so peaceful too, not like his usual smirk that looks like a playful fox. Hell, he could pass for a fox if he wanted to, as long as he trimmed down on his height and muscles.

I turned the "warm" faucet on so I can wash my mouth from the disgusting stench of bile mixed with little chunks of food, but all that comes out is freezing cold water. Just my luck. Cupping my paws, I gurgle some water and spit it out, clenching my teeth because of how cold the water is.

The sick feeling in my stomach is gone now, so that's a relief. Hopefully I won't have to deal with that anymore while I'm on this godforsaken trip. Grabbing my furry coat (for double the furry protection, don't worry its faux), I glance back at Vole again for some reason just to check to see if I accidentally woke him up. No movement.

Smiling for no apparent reason at all, I step outside of my room. After closing and locking the door behind me, I throw my room key up into the air and snatch it, sort of like how in video games people do a little victory dance after winning a battle. That's when I see it. Right in front of my room is another staircase that leads downstairs into the lobby area. Damn it! That explains why Jey didn't see me down the hall when he left the room.

"Oh, it's you!" I turn my head to the right. That's a girl's voice.

Walking down the hallway towards me is an acquaintance of mine, Kylie Song. She's a dog - a German Sheppard to be exact. Brown fur, my height (about 5' 7"), even same color eyes. We were partners in our Chem 2 class a while ago, but I haven't spoken to her since. "Hey, what's up?" I ask.

Kylie stops in front of me and glares at me with her royal blue eyes. She huffs a little bit, telling me she is either worn out from doing something or she's fairly angry/worried. "The hell do you mean, 'What's up'? You were freaking DYING earlier!"

Looks like it was her that helped me.

"Oh. That was you? Sorry, didn't notice - too busy gagging. Where did you run off to? I wanted to say thanks for the plastic bag." She smiled a bit after I mentioned the word 'thanks'.

"You got some stuff on me, so I had to wash it off in my room. And you're welcome for the bag! You made me late for lunch, after all," Kylie replied. She had her head raised high, arms crossed. Her long, fluffy tail was sweeping the floor from all of the dust. Even the smallest of things make her proud and mighty, I guess.

I scratch my head. Not because of flees or itches or anything, just out of habit. "Where is everyone, anyways? Did they all go out somewhere?" I asked. It's kind of obvious they went out somewhere, of course.

"Mhm! They all went to a mall that's down the road. There is supposedly a "famous architecture" thing there, so that pretty much justified Mr. Stark to go there. I know he just went there to shop, though." She laughed. "I'm kind of surprised he didn't do roll call before going, though. It's in his job description, you know?" I nodded.

Click!

The door to my room opened - it sounds like Vole is awake. I turned around and Vole was at the doorway, staring at me. Then at Kylie. Then back to me. He smirked a bit, giving off one of those "caught you in the act" looks, then pulled me over to the side.

Whispering into my ear, he said "I thought you were gay?"

"Shut up, she doesn't know that! I'm just trying to be friends with her!" And I really was - I wanted to have a female friend for once. Being introverted AND gay has its downsides. A lot of the time, girls just approach me cause I'm 'cute' and my 'fur looks nice', but then they back off when gossip goes around and they learn I'm gay. I don't want that to happen with Kylie.

"Ohhhh... I thought you were turning straight for a second there," he whispered back. Why does he care?

I removed his arm from my shoulder and stepped backwards a few steps to the point where I'm standing side-by-side with Kylie. Glancing over, Kylie looks like she just saw a romantic drama. Fuck. What is with people seeing other people being touched nowadays? It wasn't even sexual.

"And who are you?" Kylie asks Vole. I can sense... distaste in her voice? I don't know if I'm right - either wolves have super hearing that can tell emotions or I'm just guessing.

"You don't know who I am? Damn, there are so many Seniors in our school that only half of the group knows who is who! I'm Vole. You got a thing for Brett over here?" He points this thumb to me.

WHO THE HELL ASKS THAT TO A STRANGER!?Wait a second... maybe she'll respond with that reaction I see in anime a lot - where the girl blushes and totally blows her cover! Not that I'm interested in girls, but it's always nice to feel loved...

I swear my imagination likes to fuck me over, because when I do turn to see Kylie's face, she's just seething with anger. Like, not even kidding - teeth bared, tense paws, etc. "Perv! Why the hell would I like a guy who puked on me!?" She yelled at Vole. Kylie has a point there.

"Oh?" Vole looked at me. "You puked? Hahah! Thought I smelled something!"

I rolled my eyes at him and quickly smelled my breath. Geez, make fun of everything why don't you. Vole is busy laughing his ass off and Kylie is still growling at him (pretty un-ladylike, if you ask me). Not my ideal situation right now. I just got better from my nausea and everything, too...

I gulped and started to speak. "Uhh... now that we are all acquainted, I think it's time to catch up to the group. We just wasted-" I look at my watch "- 10 minutes of my time."

Both Kylie and Vole calmed down gradually in sync. Vole just rolled his eyes and closed the door to the room and Kylie smiled and nodded.

I'm glad that's under control, but I doubt that Vole is going to stop teasing me.
