Chapter Five: Wishmaster, Part Two

Previously on Shadow of Space:

"You don't know who I am, but I'm going to tell you. They created me for one purpose, destruction. I'm not like other hawks and attack birds, I was designed for creating death, my teeth and claws sharper, my powers made for killing." He said if raddling of a list he had created in his head.

"And there will be more of me; the Shadow entity that attacks is one of them. She is a revived saber-tooth tiger. Beware her power; if she wanted to she could have taken you to the void." He said sounding more and more crazy as the one-sided conversation continued.

...

The jury gasped as the walking shadow quickly disposed of the guards. However, the detective saw how to deal with it last time the shadow appeared. He got of his seat and started to run towards the forcefield and thus the shadow. He jumped over the fence and in one move got over and latched on to the shadow.

However, this time it was different. His body burned as the shadow particles attacked his skin, almost akin to burning him. The detective let go and fell to the ground his body almost smoking.

"Silly wolf, I knew that was coming." She said as her voice modulator turned off and she decided to reveal her true form as a saber-tooth tiger. She growled at the jury keeping them at bay.

"Now then Markus, shall we wreak this spacestation?" The hawk stretched out and walked out of the forcefield stand.

"Ah that's more like it, so now let's get to this. I feel that this spacestation is a too far away from the energy ring to collect its energy, how about we use the thrusters to dip it in?" Markus asked as he turned behind him and looked at the jury.

He placed his hand on the ground; electricity followed out and flew into the jury, knocking them all out. He laughed as he turned around and rejoined the shadow entity; they exited out of the room and looked at the massive protesting crowd before them.

"So, Helena I say as the new captain of this ship, no more shall you protest." He said giving Helena a command as she reformed her shadow entity form and looked at the crowd, causing them to back off. However, before they could run away she formed a massive portal underneath the crowd, which led into space.

...

"So Helena, Markus have you come here to surrender?" Dwight said as they stood right before the spoke started right were the airlock door stood. Dwight realized what was going to happen.

"Crap, quickly get back into the wheel!" Dwight yelled as he grabbed Marian and Kory, he had to get them back to the other side of the spoke, but it seemed so far way. His blood rushed, sweat was bursting out from his head and his breathing intensified.

However, Helena had different plans about it. She engulfed her whole body in shadows, pointed her hand at the floor, and fired. The shadow hit the floor and as it burst, the air sensors with their last bit of electricity sent the message.

The airlock doors shut and the air decompressed out of the spoke. Dwight, Kory and Marian tried to run, but the force of decompression hit them like a brick. The force pulled them back and towards the open void of space. Seconds turned into minutes as decompression pulled them out of the spacestation.

Dwight formed a clamp in his hand and grabbed on to the edge of the floor. Marian quickly grabbed on to his leg and Kory on to her. Dwight looked down and realized that this might be the last time he saw his friends.

...

Dwight knew that the oxygen and the heat from the spacestation wouldn't last for much longer, he had to make a choice and somehow save his friends. The airlock wouldn't open if he even somehow managed to climb back into the spacestation, and he had no idea how he be able to survive in the vacuum of space.

"Guys I know it might seem bleak right know, but I will find a way to get us out of here." Dwight said with no knowledge of weather of not his friends heard him. His clamp started to slip as the airflow from the spacestation stopped.

He looked down and Kory seemed to playing with a chain in his spare hand. He swung it around and Dwight looked as the area around him glowed. A psychic wave expanded out from Kory and encircled the three.

The sphere around them interfered with the clam and caused it to disappear. Dwight realized that there was enough air around them and he took a breath, followed by Marian and Kory who both realized what had happened.

"Kory, quickly float us up into the spoke." Dwight said giving a command. Kory played with the chain, put the ends in his hands and pointing it upwards. The bubble followed and they slipped back into the spacestation.

"Ok, just need to quickly open the door." Dwight said as he formed in his hand a large drill, he pushed it against the bubble and pushed it though and against the door. He activated it and drilled through the door. He let go of the drill and reached through the door, slamming his hand against the inside. The door pulled open as he managed to hit the door override.

He pulled himself back into the spacestation and Kory, Marian and the bubble followed. He pressed the override button and the airlock closed again, pressed another button on the interface and a firelock fell down over the door.

The bubble popped and Dwight took a sigh as he leaned against the wall. He never enjoyed having oxygen in his lungs as much.

"OK, new rule no going outside in space anymore." Dwight said as he fell against the floor and put his hands against his head. "Is everybody ok?"

"Think so, we need to take down those two before any more people die." Marian said as she stood off and walked over to Kory who was breathing heavily and seemed drained. "Come on Kory; don't use your powers anymore until you feel better." Marian said as she helping the priest up.

"What was that?" Dwight asked as he stood up and brushed himself up.

"I don't know I thought I could push us up into the spacestation, but that just happened. I had no idea what to do, it just happened." Kory said as he went over the events in his head.

"Ok, come on we need to get going, I'll handle any weapons now." Dwight said as he formed the guns with bayonets from before. He walked forward towards the elevator, but as he did the lights above them flickered.

"NO, don't give out on me, do not give out on me!" Dwight said getting angry as he looked at the lights flicking above him, they darkened and Dwight screamed. He fired two shots into the light, "Dammit, I swear if any other things go wrong!"

"Crap, we have to converse air now if we are going to make it." Marian said as comforted Dwight.

"No they just took control of the station, run again!" Dwight said grabbing Marian and Kory and pulling them forward towards the elevator. The firelocks on the room started to lower as Dwight pulled them towards the elevator.

"Hurry up, we can't get trapped in the area!" Dwight yelled as he pushed the two towards the elevator towards the end of the hallway. He ducked under the final firelock and looked as the entire hallway was sealed off.

"Shit can this day go even worse, this isn't the central elevator. We're going had to go down a floor and find the central elevator." Dwight said as he put his flashdrive into the door and forced the elevator doors open.

"Ok then gets do down to the third floor, we can regroup there and see if we can cut off their control before anything happens." Dwight said as he entered the elevator followed by Marian and Kory.

"Though I guess we we're lucky that you managed to pull off that trick, as much as it was a fluke." Dwight said making a passing comment to Kory.

"Now I don't think that was a fluke, I tried very hard to create that bubble." Kory said arguing with Dwight. "If I wanted to I could take them down all on my own."

"Yeah sure, fine then I'll let you go your own way see if you can get their first." Dwight said as he walked out of the elevator and to third floor.

"Well, then I give you the grace of god, because you're going to be beat by me." Father Kory said as he walked down one end of the hallway, Dwight turned down the other end and walked down the hallway. Marian made a confused look and followed Dwight.

...

"Stupid Dwight, letting his pride get in front of him. He can't even handle someone else who would be better equipped to deal with the situation, trying to formulate a plan." Kory said as he walked down the hallway, with no idea on how ironic he just sounded.

"That Dinosaur is so stubborn he can't even let me think of ideas, always taking control of the situation and getting all the prizes and just dragging me along like a lost puppy on the ground." Kory said continuing his rant.

"And as I laid here dying I hoped the ranting priest would notice me and help me." Kory stopped when he heard the monologue of a familiar voice, and turned around. He saw the bloody and burnt body of The Detective on the floor reaching out with one hand.

"Oh god, it's time for final rites." Kory said as he walked over to the dying body and leaned on the ground.

"I thought about what I need and the best place would be the spaceship. My mind remembered the schematics of medbay and how their machines can help me, if you heal me; I think I can help you get to the bridge." The detective said as he limped out of the courtroom.

"Darn, don't get to preform last rites often, but I think you're an exception for the continued good of the universe." Kory said as he grabbed the detective off the floor, carefully holding the detective and helping him up.

"Come on the arrival bay is close, it might hurt but your almost there." Kory said giving encouragement to the detective as he arrived in the bay. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a flashdrive. He opened the door and walked into the bay.

He opened the spaceships door and The Detective groaned as Kory pulled him into the ship. His skin was burned and the priest didn't want to look at any more than he had to.

He pulled him up the stairs and into the medbay, he laid the detective on the floor and opened the healing machine. The detective groaned as Kory pulled his body and placed him upright in the machine. He quickly pressed the buttons as the detective couldn't hold himself up for long and the machine closed as the detective was cryogenically frozen.

"Ok, now how to get to the bridge quickly." Kory asked himself as he walked down the stairs and into the bridge of the ship. He wondered what The Detective had planned into order to get them into the bridge, but he had an idea when he saw the navigation system of the ship.

He pulled his flashdrive out and plugged it into the starter point. The ship rumbled and made other various noises as it began and he looked at the computer. He disconnected from the spaceship and pointed The Void towards the station.

"Time for a break in!"

...

"God that priest, aren't they supposed to do everything you say so long as it is within the boundaries of their so holy text." Dwight said to Marian as they walked down the other hallway and towards the central elevator.

"I think you have a priest confused with a butler, either way he still has free will and he is going to do whatever he thinks is best." Marian said as she caught up with Dwight who looked promptly angry.

"Either way he's heading the wrong way, he's going towards the arrival bay. The centralized elevator is in this direction." Dwight said as he saw the large central tube in the middle of the stations gathering area.

"Well maybe he's going to use the maintenance tubes, they don't have security features and he can easily use that psychic bubble he made to float up the tubes into the bridge." Marian suggested to Dwight as they arrived in the eerily clear gathering area.

"God this place is creepy with no people, it's like a horror movie where something could come in straight through the ceiling without you knowing." Dwight said as he looked up towards the roof to make sure that wasn't going to happen.

"Also fluke, the word you keep on using. I do not think it means what you think it means. You keep on saying it like it was interrupting your plan, but you didn't have a plan. I think you hurt his feelings, that makes you the donkey." Marian said as they arrived at the centralized elevator.

Dwight leaned down and pressed the open button on the interface, as expected it didn't open. So he bent down on the ground and pulled off a panel of the screen. He looked around the interface and its complicated wiring and found a plug. He of course pulled out his flashdrive and plugged it into the interface.

"Now then, a minute or two and we should be able to get to the bridge and beat those a-holes into the airlock and eject them like they tried to do to us." Dwight said as the flashdrive started to decode the elevator password.

"God, you and your pride. I'm not going to think less of you if you don't eject them out of the airlock, you can arrest them and turn them over in a different security. It's not like they escaped from prison, Helena was the reason Markus escaped." Marian said pleading with Dwight.

"No, they have to die. They killed everyone in the station, either that or they are very good at hiding." Dwight said as the flashdrive blinked blue and the elevator doors opened. He and Marian walked into the elevator and he pressed the bridge button.

"Marian I need you cover me, but only if I am in risk of dying or if they attack you and let me have the final strike against them." Dwight said as the elevator doors opened and they were faced with one final hallway with an open till the bridge.

"God you and your pride, just do what you want but don't break the glass. I the airlock will lower again and I don't want to deal with lack of oxygen again." Marian said as she pointed out the airlock on the hallway door.

However, a sudden rumbling filled their ears, which quickly intensified. The glass in the bridge broke as a large ship rammed into the bridge and shook the station. The airlock lowered quickly shutting them out of the bridge, and a forcefield formed around the bridge preventing any air as well as The Void from escaping.

"That little priest took my ship and rammed it into the bridge, when I see him again I am going to burn that mother..." Dwight said before getting cut off by Marian.

"Dwight we have more problems, The Void is going to knock the ship and make it roll. This isn't going to be a problem as the floors are going to keep their gravity, but the top part of the station is going to fall into the energy wave, so we need to hack into the bridge controls here." Marian said quickly explaining their situation.

"Crap, I am going to murder him." Dwight said as he bent down on one knee and pulled the panel of the wall, seeing all the wires that connected to the bridge system. Quite luckily there was a plug for a flashdrive, because spacestation logic.

"Connect this to the PDA, maybe we can quickly fire blasters to rise up the station and get us out of the ring, or maybe we can control the ship to keep the ship up straight." Dwight said as he pulled the PDA out and reconnected it to his flashdrive.

...

"So now have you two decided to do the rational thing and turn yourselves in. I am quite lenient on those who confess to their crimes, but then again I would like to go all fire and brimstone and beat the sin out of you." Kory said as he faced the two criminals in the bridge room, he reached into his pocket and pulled out the chain.

"Now then what are you going to do, the last time we fought you were barely able to control your psychic energy without fainting." Helena said as she engulfed her body in shadow energy, while referring to their first battle on the roller coaster.

"That was two months ago. I have been training myself and with this just maybe I'll be able to defeat you two." Father Kory raised his arm and started to flick around his chain. The mood changed as psychic energy followed up into the chain and caused it to glow.

In comparison to the darkened room, the glowing chain was almost brighter than the room. He held It for a few seconds before he released it bringing his arm down and slashing the chain against the floor. A massive wave was sent towards the two, taking everything that wasn't held down with it.

The two stood still but the wave surprisingly knocked the two down on the ground. Markus and Helena looked shocked; they quickly stood up and decided to attack. The hawk ran forward putting his claws forward filling them with electricity as he attacked.

This was in Kory's mind a somewhat predictable move, and he responded in the way he trained himself. Just as the hawk approached, he jumped up and put his body over the arm. He brought his legs in and slammed Markus right in the head, knocking him against the floor.

"How did you even do that? What you did that's crazy impossible." Helena said as she watched the priest completely dominate Markus in one move.

"Well, in my free time I used the holodeck to train myself, specifically with holograms of him and you captured from our battles together, so come at me." Kory said waving his hands and making a taunt.

The shadow-engulfed beast ran towards Kory, picking up speed as she decided to change up tactics. She put her fist forward and punched the priest who responded with an uppercut as she hit him, both were knocked down on the floor.

As Kory stood up and wiped the dirt off his black shirt, so did Helena and Markus.

"So it is still two against one, and I don't care if you can juggle, you still will never beat us." Markus said as he created a spark of electricity.

"What?" Kory and Helena said, as they didn't get the reference.

"Sorry, seemed to oblivious not to be used." Markus said, he struck forward engulfing his body in electricity and running towards the priest.

"Ok, let's try something else." Kory said as he put his hand out in front of him and let most of the chain fall out of his hand. He started to swing it so that it was swing like a propeller on a plane.

A psychic shield almost formed in front of him and Markus taking the challenge rammed forward and hit the shield like a wall. He as he bounced off he made a noise comparable to a goat screaming, and caused Kory and Helena to chuckle a bit.

Kory pulled back the chain and the psychic energy released from the chain and waved towards Helena. She sent a blast of shadow energy and the two waves canceled each other out.

"OK, so I think I can keep up with you. Now why don't we try a little harder." Kory said taunting the two as they regrouped. He ran forward and let his chain drag on the ground. He let the psychic energy into the chain and as he approached the touch, he jumped to the left and flicked the chain forward.

A psychic wave hit the two and knocked Markus and Helena against the window. He looked at them and knew what he had to do; he was going to release them into the void of space. He prepared to slam the chain against the window.

However, Markus jumped up and rammed the priest against the ground. Kory screamed as Markus let electricity flow through his body and shocked him. Kory still had the chain in his hand and quickly flicked the chain and managed to hit the hawk on the back.

Markus screamed and rolled off Kory. The priest stood up and pulled the chain with him. Helena looked at the chain and put her hands forward. She fired a blast of shadow energy, and he jumped over the energy.

"Now then I think this is useless, we just going to fight all day and going to get nowhere so why don't we stop!" Kory quickly jumped into action as he fired an energy wave at Helena, she jumped over it but the wave of energy hit the glass behind the saber-tooth tiger.

The glass broke and expectantly the room started to decompress. Helena lodged her claws into the floor, but couldn't get a grip and flew out of the room. In space her shadow energy dissipated and she was left to die.

However Markus managed to grab onto a desk and was currently not flying out into space.

"Let go and stop this madness, face your sins!" Kory said in a commanding way as if sentencing him to death. Markus didn't respond but instead jumped up and grabbed on to Kory's leg.

"So now father how about you send me to my death now?" Markus said as he started to fire little electrical shocks in the priest's leg, as to make him let go of the table.

He was surprised then when someone grabbed his leg as well. It was the detective, his face was half burnt and he looked at Kory with a smile. He kicked Markus off but the hawk grabbed on to The Detective's legs.

"No, you cannot defeat us we are APEX, we will rise and destroy the lesser races and destroy, destroy, exterminate, exterminate!" Markus said as he tried to climb up the detective's leg.

"And with my last few breaths I thought, thank you Father Kory for protecting the station, I've lived a good life." The detective said not knowing if anyone heard his last monologue. He let go of Kory's leg and tipped his fedora as he was pulled out of the space station, Markus screaming as he faced death.

Kory reached up and smashed his hand against the "reform forcefield" button and the decompression stopped. He breathed as he realized what happened, he ended it. Taking deep breaths, he walked over to the airlock button and opened the door.

Marian was the first to rush in followed by Dwight, who had an angry look on his face.

"Did you do it?" Dwight was the first to speak up, looking at the empty room and lack of people shooting at them.

"I did and I'm sorry, I shouldn't have let my want to prove myself get over my logics." Kory said bowing his head down at Dwight. Dwight didn't say anything, but instead walked over to Kory and hugged him.

"Don't be you still solved the situation and that's all that matters." Dwight said as he hugged Kory. "Can I ask for your forgiveness?"

"You're sins are absolved." Kory said as he let go.

...

"So Marian, I think we can finally go. Four months on a spacestation, I need to fly away, god it feels so long. Speaking of god, where's Father Kory?" Dwight said as he took a sip of the ship's coffee.

"Well there was someone who didn't want to be borged, so Father Kory said he would do a funeral." Marian said as she ate the eggs she made for herself.

"Oh good Kory's doing a funeral." Dwight said letting a few seconds pass before he realized what that meant. "You let Father Reid do a funeral!" Dwight yelled as he ran out of the ship hoping to find Kory before something bad happened.

"Oh god, maybe it's not as bad as it seems." Dwight said as he made a few turns and found a precession. The funeral was in the glass wall only held by the forcefield, and children were screaming and paramedics were helping out the few injured. "It's worse."

"How'd did the cart even, get through the wall, how, what even happened here!" Dwight said as he approached the priest in his purple robe.

"So how'd I do." Kory said in a non-ironic way, as the crowd turned towards him and ran at him. Dwight reacted accordingly and put his flash drive in the air, teleporting him and Kory back to the ship.

"They will never let us back into the station again, so Marian get out." Dwight said as he prepared to say his good-byes to the librarian.

"No way, I am staying here from now on. Dwight and the Void, next stop everywhere." Marian said as she continued to sit down and took another scoop of her eggs.

"Well then rule one, no more funerals." Dwight said as he walked to the driver's seat and sat down. He turned on the ship and pressed a few buttons on the computer screen.

"Hello, it looks like you are trying to jump to an area behind you, the computer needs to turn around the ship. Would you like help with that?" Clippie said he surfed on to the interface.

"No Clippie I can handle that." Dwight said as he shooed the application away, and took control of the ship. He disconnected from the spacestation and flew forward, pressing a few buttons on the warp scream when he got far enough way.

"I like that Marian, don't copyright that. Dwight, Marian, Father Kory and the Void, next stop everywhere!" Dwight yelled out as the ship formed a wormhole and they flew in.

"Now men and ladies, we have got another one. For the third time this month, once again someone has pushed a millionaire off the subway and the subway cart did the rest. Which wouldn't happen if the council would reconsider my bill for forcefield generators to be placed on the platforms, any ideas anyone?" Alison asked as she sat down in her chair and looked at the two.

"Congratulations applicator, you have managed to have a mutation on gene number 15, which has caused the production of cytomegazine in your blood, which in your brain attaches to your hippocampus and through unknown processes allows you to manipulate the world or yourself through your powers." The program said forming a holographic demonstration of DNA in his hand and swirling it around for effect.

"Today, they attempted to steal your freedom but I and STAR have given it back to you. However, we cannot do this forever. We need your help to stop the threats!" Valo said as he started a speech to the crowd before him. He figured he was doing good as the crowd was cheering.
