Rise of the Burning Rose

[3 years ago]Deathball, the best sport for getting rid of people, or for having something fun to watch. After my last little 'incident' with the game, I was told to never play it again, but I could always watch. I noticed one of the guys on the field, I think his name was Xyan, is talking to the coach. Xyan stepped onto the field, but his jersey instantly flashed a bright gold, he was the target. "This is gonna be good" I thought, watching as everyone turned towards him, grinning maliciously. What none of us expected was for him to pull out his weapons and use them as protection, which some people didn't find fair, even though he has virtually no powers. Another guy started running towards him, his friend Raix, who almost got hit, but Xy blocked it, sending the blast into a ball that would have hit him. Raix grabbed onto Xy, flying up into the air before letting go, leaving Xy as an open target, but somehow, he wasn't in the air anymore, he was on the ground, underneath the falling Raix. He raised his arms, hoping to stop himself from getting hurt, but it only resulted in a sickening crack to echo through the gym as the bones in his arms shattered. Luckily he passed out before the pain could hit him, but by the look on his face, He was just as surprised as everyone else.

[3 weeks ago]The three of us have been hunting down the same group that ordered the death of Xy and his family, which includes me and Raix, who I still can't fully trust, even if we are related. "Hey Nura, think you can help us get this fire started?" Xy yelled outside my tent. I slowly get up, letting the bed I grew last night curl back into the ground before stepping out, shading my eyes from the sun. "How come you guys can't even start a small fire?" I shake my head at them, stepping over to the empty fire pit, tossing a small, but very warm flame into it before jumping up into one of the trees that I grew around our camp as protection, zoning out from any further conversation. "Why don't they ever realize that I actually could help, I'm not just a pretty girl who can't defend herself." I flex my hands, watching as my small, but razor sharp claws pop out, helping me comb my unruly hair. "I mean seriously, I can create a miniature sun for crying out loud, I can take care of myself just fine, they'll see, one day I won't be here and they will just have to live without me.

[3 hours ago]Now I'm living in the main base of the people who ordered our death, but as it turns out, they were right all along. If Xy tries to develop his mental powers any more than they naturally would, he will go crazy and rip apart this reality. They even have a guy who can see the future, Zin, the frozen sphinx. Rhin's kind voice echoes into my room from an intercom in the corner, "Okay Nuratai, we're going to test your powers today, please come to the testing room, the same place you met Zin, and try not to take too long." Rhin is awesome, even though her power labeled her as an outcast from her family, she has become one of the Sealed. I quickly get dressed, combing my hair, but letting it fall behind me as I dismiss my bed back into the rose that I received once they heard about my power with plants. As I step out of the room, I see Glidonia, one of the strangest of the Sealed, flow by. As she passes, she looks over at me and gives me a small smile, and nods to me in acknowledgement. Once I make it to the testing room, the first thing I see is my old friend, Drake. He is one of the strongest fire wielders I know, and he is the wielder of the legendary Wyvernblades, making him a member of the Blade Guardians. "Good morning, I see that you remember me from school, that's good cause we're going to be working together to stop Xyan from destroying reality." He sits down in a chair, gesturing towards the table in front of us covered in many small clay pots, each holding different substances. I look at the closest pot, which seems to hold only fire and nothing else. Knowing what to do, I focus on the flame, willing it to grow into a rose, my favorite flower. As I focus, a small seed forms within the flame, quickly pulling in the fire as it blooms into a rose made out of pure fire, glowing faintly with warmth. As the day continues, I succeed in growing many different plants from everything, all of them original. As I approach the final pot, which seems to contain nothing, but is labeled as A-M, which I have no idea what that means, but I focus on the emptiness, watching as a small blank space appears in the middle of the pot, slowly growing into what appears to be an absence of space in the shape of a lily. "What was in that last pot by the way, it looked like I only made nothingness." Drake looks over his shoulder at me and says the one thing I feared he would, " No Nura, that was antimatter, pure antimatter." As he said it the second time, I pass out from sheer shock.

[Present time]When I wake up, in my room, I wait on Rhin to tell me what I need to do now, but all I hear is light snoring beside me. When I look down, I almost pass out again when I see the tiny, adorable, 6 inch tall squirrel-cat-fox hybrid curled up on my bed. I hear a crackle in my ear as my new earpiece activates, "Nura, this little guy is Blade, He decided that he is going to be your new pet for a while. He will also protect you in case of an emergency, but don't worry about how he will, we just hope that you don't have to find out. Tomorrow, we want you guys to get to know each other better goodnight." I look down at Blade, rubbing my thumb over the top of his head as I lay back down to sleep. When I woke up, I didn't even see Blade anywhere, and I know he's not in the room when I dismiss my bed again. When I finish placing the rose back on its shelf, I hear a knock on the door, "Yes?" I ask the person outside, "May I come in, I got locked out when I left to get you some breakfast." I open the door cautiously, since the only other thing that was in my room last night was Blade. When I look out the door, I see a 9 year old boy, who has the same cuteness as Blade, standing with a tray of food. "Wait, Blade?!" Wondering if the cute creature from last night can change form. "Yes, I don't know who else was in your room last night but me" He looks at me with a cute expression on his face, "Uh, no, nobody else was in here last night that I know of." He nods, setting the tray down before he glows as he switches back into his feral form, hopping up onto my shoulder, "So what are we going to do today then?" I look at the tray, picking up a cold piece of chicken, "How come the food's cold Blade?" He looks at me guiltily, "Uh I was waiting outside your door for about an hour waiting on you to wake up." I nod, understanding how heavily I sleep sometimes, and blow a small flame across the meat, cooking it quickly. Blade looks at me in shock, but before he can say anything, I tell him, "I can do much more than what they think I can, but are you going to tell them anything about this?" He shakes his head quickly, "No, I can't disobey you, you're my current Master." I look at him, wondering what he meant, but Rhin comes on over the intercom, "I want the two of you to take the day off to enjoy yourselves, but try to be careful."

As we walk the nearby trail, I try to find out more about Blade, who evidently is a big talker. I found out that Raix has the Stormblade, making him part of the Blade Guardians, which somehow Blade is a part of, but he refused to elaborate as to how he could be. As it turns out, his species has to guard people, or else they become evil, and he is the last living member of his species, since he had to kill the rest of them as they were trying to kill Rhin when she first got her powers. I tricked him into showing me how he is in the Blade Guardians when he went in his anthro form. I threw a flame at him, which he batted away with a wave of his hand, which now had large, blood red claws instead of fingers. "What are those, Blade, I want you to tell me what those are, now!" He looks at me guiltily before he shifts again, growing spikes on the back of his hands, blades from his elbows, his tail changes into an axeheaded draconic tail, he grows a curved scythe from his head, blades below his knees, and wings made out of blades. He the holds out his hands as 2 swords forms into his hands, the lost Everblades, the strongest of the Guardians Blades. "This is how I'm a Guardian, and this is why I didn't want you to find out, I look hideous like this." He turns back into his feral form, hopping onto my shoulder as he starts to cry into my hair. I reach up to pet him, starting to walk back to the main building until I hear a massive explosion. When I get back to the base, I see Rhin, Glidonia, and Zin all fighting Drake, Raix, and Xyan. "Drake! What are you doing?!' He looks up at me, only to launch a massive flame at me. Blade instantly jumps in front of me, but I step in front of him, "No Blade, this is my fight." I raise my hand as the flame reaches me, then drop it as I let the Flames surround me. "Looks like your precious rose is burning, Rhin." Drake laughs evilly as the flames build up around me. I breath in, extinguishing the flames with a thought, grinning at the look of shock on Drake's face, "I think I know what I'm going to call myself Rhin, I am the Burning Rose!" I yell the last words, launching a small fireball at Drake, which he easily blocks with his Blade, but what he didn't know was that I wasn't aiming for him. The ball stops 10 feet above him, slowly rotating as it gathers energy. I see Xy reach out, taking Raix with him through one of his rifts just as I grow protection around everyone there, all but Drake. The sun then explodes outwards, engulfing Drake in the equivalent energy of a supernova, instantly incinerating him. When I feel his power vanish, I pull the flame around me, dismissing it like I do with my plants, watching it flow into my body. "N-Nura?" Blade is looking up at me, a happy look on his face as he points toward my hands. When I look down at them, I see a seal on each of my hands, a burning rose. "Blade, you're the one who created the seals, aren't you?" He grins, looking up at me, "Yep, and I think that the fun is only just beginning."
