Warmer Soil and Water
Hm. This little ditty was inspired by "In the Aeroplane Over The Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel, and "Bird Song" by Florence & the Machine. Probably inspired by Disney Nature's "Chimpanzee" as well.
The cold, loving winter has such nice weather
And like two wolves sleeping together
We dream of a time when things were better
Dreaming of a time when our ears were wetter
And like two bears we're fighting each other
Like humans, we fight like we're lovers
We hit and scratch and we all suffer
Then we stop and rest and wait for another
Just like two penguins in Antarctica
We fish in the sea
Together happily
Wondering when the sun will be seen
Whatever the reason we ignore our feelings
We can't help being in love without seeing the other bleeding
In the dead of night we hear the other breathing
It's like words from the book we're reading
And like the animals we are
We tear cubs from away from mothers
For our own comfort or survival
Whatever the reason we have for living
That doesn't matter as we both have our love
Nothing matters anymore, there's nothing up above
There doesn't need war, only our fights
There doesn't need to be anything, just our sight
And much like the buildings we have
We stand proudly
Patriotic and loudly
We'll be here till there is no more common ground for our feet
And like the moon and stars
We'll still be what we are
And shine and breathe till we are no more
