#5 of The Prince and the Dragon

Sorry this one is so short, like I said I've been having some major time restraints for the past month and I hope to begin writing more now.

--Quentin--

"Engine checks complete, beginning takeoff." the robotic voice said.

"What's an engine?" Elizabeth asked no one in particular.

"Just go with it and try to keep up to the best of your abilities. Trust me, I don't understand any of it and his explanations make it worse." Vincent said to her as he gestured to me.

"Wow, rude!" I said in an exaggerated tone, but in all honesty I really didn't know how to explain it any other way. The fact that these people were from the equivalent of medieval earth didn't help.

"Well it's not like it isn't true now is it, your explanations don't make sense!" he said with an equally over exaggerated tone and a roll of the eyes.

The ship shuttered as it took off from its mountain top hideout causing the two new inhabitants to stumble a bit. We began to move up but at this point it was barely noticeable and soon we had moved above the constricting atmosphere.

"First things first, we need to get you two updated identities and get you screened by a doctor with higher tech equipment than this ship has." I say to the bewildered human and snake on board.

--Elizabeth--

This was all very strange. First the gods visit the castle, then the prince is a god, then the gods aren't gods, and now I'm just standing here, right in the not-gods home. This will definitely take some getting used to.

"Alert: hull breached. Decompression imminent. Refrain from exiting atmosphere compleatly"the strange, lifeless voice without a source said. Now I'm not sure what an atmosphere is, but I do know what a hull and a hull breach are from serving workers on the king's docks. I also knew that if a hull was breached the ship could sink and the men abord could perish.

"Are we going to fall out of the air?" I ask with audible concern.

"No no, nothing like that. There's just a hole somewhere in the ship, all we have to do is get the repair system going." He said with slight annoyance. He pushed himself up from his chair quite quickly and proceeded to faint and hit the floor with a loud thud.

"What's happened to him?!" I ask, very concerned.

"I-I'm not sure." Vincent says shakily

Quentin started to wake up and get up off the floor and he saw the concern in our faces.

"Sorry, sorry. I just have really low blood pressure right now because I haven't taken my medication yet today. I'll be fine, I just can't get up too quickly right now alright." He said, obviously brushing off our concern for him.

"Yeah, alright" Vincent and I said in unison with hesitance in our voices.

--Vincent--

'God, I hope Quentin's alright. I wonder why I'm so attached to him, maybe it's because he's taking me on some magical adventure into the stars AND he let Elizabeth come. Yeah, that's it, I'm just so grateful for his part in my life. I mean he has helped me through so much it only makes sense to look up to him and feel emotionally attached. But it feels different than that too; it feels warmer, and softer, and it makes me feel happier. Maybe it's because he's played such an important role? Or maybe it's something different altogether...' my thoughts began to wander as the, now dashingly dressed, blue and purple dragon walked back into our shared room. Elizabeth was already asleep in a large rectangular panel in the wall that opened up to a bed, and another was opened next to it, Quentin and Elizabeth both agreed to let me sleep in the bigger more comfortable bed because I had been through a lot in the past few days. I obviously suggested that I was fine and would sleep in the smaller bed in the wall but both of the stubborn creatures denied my request.

"Goodnight Vincent" Quentin said with a yawn

"Goodnight Quentin" I said back, responding to his yawn with my own.

And that's how my first day traveling in these strange and magnificent creatures ship went.
