A "eulogy"/farewell poem to my "son" that I will probably never see again.

Farewell, My Son.

By Murphy Slaugh

Farewell, Cody, my dear son.

While we were together we had lots of fun.

But now your heart has lead you astray,

And you are so far away.

You've left your friends and family.

No more of your shining face we'll see.

My future with you is no more,

And this has made my heart so sore.

You were once so full of life

Despite you living with all that strife.

Your early life was full of woe,

And it seemed a better life you wanted to go.

Though you'll still be in my heart,

I'm afraid that this is where we must part.

Know that it won't be without pain or tears,

Or sorrow or anger or even fears.

I must admit it's hard to cope,

While thinking that there is no hope.

Cody, my son, why did you leave?

And leaving your friends back home to grieve.

Farewell, Cody, goodbye, adieu.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

May God allow you one day to return,

Until then for your face my heart will yearn.
