Chapter 7: honor

It would be a month or so of physical therapy before I could finally be released from the hospital. As I was admitting myself out, a soldier walked up to me. "Well, if it isn't Jakli himself." the soldier said. I didn't looked up from the papers as I was signing them. "Yup, that's me, well, whats left of me." I replied "Whats left of you? You are the same dragon I met so many years ago." they stated. I finally looked up and over to the soldier, wondering who it was if they seemed to have met me years ago. Being surprised I saw it was Laude, leaning on the desk.

"You seem surprised? Did you think I fell off the side of the planet?" She asked in a joking tone. She would walk over and wrap her left arm over my shoulders and began looking at the papers. "Well, admit I wasn't expecting you, but we are also on a planet that doesn't have a side to fall off of, so, I cant say I thought that." I said looking back down at the papers and signing them. She smirked, "Yeah alright smart ass. Anyways you ready? We have a ceremony to get too." Finishing the papers I looked over to her slightly bewildered. "Ceremony?" I asked. "You were promoted to High Fleet Admiral, remember?" she replied. I nodded, "Yes I remember, but a ceremony? Blave, nor Kinhard was given one, why do I get the special treatment?" I waved over to the door so we could talk and get to the Citadel of War.

We began walking out to the transport area. "Well they were promoted under stressful situations, you know, Legion invasion. You are the first High Fleet Admiral to be promoted due to actions, not fear of invasion. Besides, we couldn't give them a ceremony because we were gearing up for the fight." Laude stated as she hailed a cab. "I suppose that makes sense, but I still don't see the need for a ceremony." I said as we got into the cab and made our way to the Citadel. "Bah, stop being a stick in the mud, you deserve it." She said.

Upon reaching the Citadel, I noticed that the whole area was packed. People flooded the outside and inside of the Citadel. Getting out of the cab, people cheered to me as they began to notice me. Laude went off to I don't know where, probably to go do her own thing or something. I would walk into the Citadel and to the Battle Chamber. Journalists, and news crew were getting set up for the event. My whole family was there along with the other ancients. The Kryta's crew massed on the right side of the chamber with Captain Wyrnn and the other destroyer captains and their crew. Rune and her bodyguards stood with Oxy, Blave and Kinhard. I would walk up to them and salute them.

"At ease Jakli, today is your day." Oxy stated. I nodded and walked up the stairs to the throne where Oxy was laying. "Is this all really necessary?" I asked Oxy. "Yes, the people need to know that figures like you, are what command our troops to victory, they need that faith and hope that you have brought into their eyes, both the day the Legion invaded, and on your mission. You hold a lot of power over the people in this war." He stated.

As all the journalists and news crews were done setting up, Oxy signaled the start of the event. Cameras began moving around and live streaming, zooming in on Oxy as he stood up from this throne.

"Today we honor Jakli Lyss Carsus, Son of Rynaroth and Aesir Carsus, Grandson of Aevoth and Lyss. Over two months ago the Hierarchy fought against the Legion Invasion of our home world, Ragrinok. When things looked grim both in the space battle, and the battle here on Diamond Square, Jakli Lyss Carsus showed remarkable courage. Bringing our soldiers moral up when they needed it the most. This brought us the victory we needed. Not long after that he sacrificed himself for the safety of his crew and escort ships during his mission over Imaryu. Taking down the Achillies Titan stationed there, which allowed us to make a swift counterattack to retake the planet. Jakli's bravery and valor has positioned himself of High Fleet Admiral. It is of great honor to give this extraordinary dragon this title. You are hereby given the Hierarchy Honor, along with the Act Of Valor. Take these with pride and command our fleets into victory across every theater of war." Oxy would then bow and step back as Blave walked over and handed me the medals. Oxy then moved his head up and exhaled into a metal tube. His fire traveled through the pipes and released out around the Citadel. This was a signal of honor from the Citadel when a soldier is given Oxy's honor. I stood there with pride as I could hear the uproar of cheers going on outside and around the chamber.

Confetti rained in and around the Citadel as the celebration ended. Everywhere I walked, everyone was saluting me, cheering for me, and patting my back in pride. Unica would walk up to me bowing his head to me. "Despite our quarrel you have my respect. With this, I want to personally give you a piece of High City for your own. A large block on the corner of Diamond Square and Diamond Stretch is yours. I don't seek your acceptance, but I do apologize, I had a moment of weakness in a time that was not needed." Unica stated. I smiled and bowed back. "We all have them your ancient, your apology is accepted, and thank you, I will put the lot to good use." I replied. Unica smiled, "Let my adviser know what you plan to do with your piece of land, He'll get it done for you." He stated before walking off.

I would go around shaking hands, and so on with the rest of my crew and friends before I took off with Sina and my father back to the Carsus Estate. Due to my father being feral, Sina and I just rode on his back to the house. Better then paying for transport. Plus i enjoyed flying on my dads back, he flies through the clouds every time, just like he did when i was a kid. It always puts a smile on my face.

On the way to the Estate I forwarded the plans for my lot to Unica's Adviser. It was to be a club, and my own apartment. Uniquely designed I made it the perfect social gathering spot for High City. Due to the lack of clubs on Ragrinok, i felt this was going to be a good way to keep the people happy.

Although I was promoted, I wasn't given any missions or orders concerning the war. Blave stated that i needed to keep recovering until I was to 100%. This left me time to help out with the building of my club, along with helping around DeLoom. As my mother once did daily during her time.

It would be about another 4 weeks of building until my club was finished, I named it The Presidium. It wouldn't be long until the club became a popular attraction. People flooded the club day in and day out, admittance was very cheap, around 10 coins, but it still gave a lot of revenue in its first week of opening.

I constantly would interact with people around the lounge portion of the club. Learning that the general population enjoyed getting to relax while listening to good music. It put a smile on my face each day that passed by as the club was always full of people from around High City. Soon enough I began to acquire visitors from around the Andromeda Galaxy.

Walking around the bar I noticed a single dragon sitting by himself. I walked over, "You seem lonely stranger." I could tell he wasn't from Ragrinok, i suspect the outer-rim of the galaxy, sharing his fair share of scars himself across his smaller built body.. He smiled and patted the spot next to him. I sat down next to him and ordered the bartender to get us a couple of rounds. "Names, Jakli Carsus, I cant help but notice you are not from Ragrinok. Might I ask where you come from?" I asked. "Shade Verath, nice to meet you. I admit, you got a good eye, I'm actually from Fathora." Shade replied taking a sip from the glass. I nodded, taking my own sip turning around on the bar stool and leaning back on the bar counter. "Fathora? Didn't know dragons could reside on the Protaphian home planet." He smirked and took another sip. "They can't." not stating another word. "Ahh, illegally staying? Living dangerously I see." I stated. He looked down, "You could say that." I knew he was hiding something, so i leaned over the counter and grabbed the entire bottle of light-liquor. "Then we will get along just fine." Pouring him another shot.

A few hours would pass as we talked and drank our shots. "I never expected to.. make such a good friend." Shade slurred his words as the liquor was him slightly buzzed. Being slightly drunk myself, I patted his back. "Always expected.. the unexpected my friend." I stated. Shade would lean his head down on the counter, "Ack, my head is spinning, I don't think I will be able to go anywhere tonight." I chuckled. "That's fine you can stay with me tonight, my apartment is just above us." Shade smiled even blushing a bit, "I don't want to be a burden." I smirked and stood up, extending my hand to him. He grabbed and I pulled him from the stool and wrapped his arm around my neck so I could carry him upstairs. "Nonsense, you'll be fine." I stated as we went to the elevator and up to my loft apartment.

Walking out into my apartment I sat Shade down on my couch. Before I released him Shade look at me, "I don't know if this is the booze or not but..." Before I could ask him what, Shade leaned in, closing his eyes and tilting his head. I realized what he was going to do, smiling and closed my own eyes and leaned in as well. We locked lips, and kissed. Shade began to blush and pulled back. "I... sorry." I looked him in his eyes and smirked softly. "I'm not." I leaned back in and kissed him again. Wrapping my right arm around his back and using my left arm to pick him back up. Shade wrapped his legs around my lower back and his arms around my neck as we enjoyed this moment. We released lips, "I guess the couch wouldn't be as comfy to sleep in." I stated as I walked us up and into my bedroom. I could Shade murring softly as he leaned his head on my shoulder. I think he likes being carried.

Laying Shade onto my bed. Crawling over him and kissing him again. I could feel him moving his hands under my shirt and feeling my chest. I grinned and leaned up, taking off my shirt. Shade couldn't help but murr again, he seems to enjoy what he sees. I leaned back down and lifted his shirt, kissing his stomach, he twitched a few times before pulling on my shoulders. "mmmhn, stop.." he requested. I looked back up at him as i grabbed onto his pants. "Hmmn? Whats wrong?" I asked before trying to pull them down. He looked away and sighed. "I don't think we should do this.."

"What makes you think that?" I let go of his pants and sat back on my ankles looking at him. "I'm.... I'm not what you think I am." He stated, trying not to make eye contact with me. I grabbed his chin and turned his head to mine, "That's all?" I rolled my eyes and leaned back down, grabbing his pants again, pulling them down slightly while licking his stomach. "Jakli, please.." He stated. Having pulled his pants down enough to reveal his bare waist. Looking down I noticed he didn't have a male slit, instead, it was a female slit. I looked up at him to see he was highly worried, "You were scared of me finding out you are not a male?" I smiled at him. "Worried I would judge you?"

He looked at me and shook his head. "You got it wrong, I am a male, I just, my dragonling era was..." he looked down in shame. I leaned up to him and grabbed his chin again, looking him right in the eyes. "You don't have to tell me right now, but there's nothing to be worried about, you are still as attractive as you were. I'm not perfect either you know." I grabbed his hand and slid it into my pants, he could feel my member as I was rather aroused by the situation, but I kept pushing his hand in down to my own female slit located under my male slit. "You and I are just as we were born to be. What you are, is what you are, you will always be accepted with me. No matter what." I reassured him. Shade smiled as he pulled his hand out from my pants, "I still, can we wait on this?" he asked. I nodded and pulled him up to my chest, holding him. "I don't ever want to make you uncomfortable Shade, if you want to wait, I'm more then happy to wait." I pulled him down with me, laying him on top of me as i laid on my back, getting comfy with him. Pulling the blanket over us. Shade snuggled into me, "Thank you..." he said. "Anything for the cute little dragon." I said. It wouldn't take long before Shade drifted off and fell asleep. Rubbing his back, I too, would fall sleep.
