Zavyn chapter 1: History forges Future.
The world is know very different from how our ancestors knew it, for us is a blessing and for our ancestors was a curse and their end.
It all started in 1865 when Gregor Mendel brought the knowledge of genetics to mankind. Genetics grew and prospered throughout the years, especially in the twentieth century thanks to the computers. First it was just used to medical application but as we all know men always want more than what they need, they want power. Then genetics was used for the creation of biological weapons, ahh just another grain of sand in the desert of human perdition. Then the alteration of plant genes came, wanting to produce bigger and better products, then they started experimenting with live animals producing firstly a series of grotesque creatures. At the end of the twentieth century scientist achieved to produce an identical cell from another, and the term cloning was born, later they were able to clone a sheep and then pigs, religion was against this saying this wasn't right, that new life should be produced naturally. Thankfully scientist didn't pay any attention to this, looking forward to human cloning some thinking of medical advances and others of more greedy purposes. But it wasn't until the twenty-first century that the first human clone was produced born from an identical human mother. Scientist now wanted in vitro cloning thinking it was more efficient for clones to be born from a machine instead tan a human but this wasn't achieved until later.
Since this was very difficult scientist decided to firstly create artificial intelligence to better understand machines, after very hard work they managed to create androids. With this knowledge they finally achieved in vitro cloning producing clones in masses, now they were interested in the combination of genes from a human and an animal, firstly with military application, like soldiers with smell of a dog, eyesight of a cat, or strength of a lion. Then they thought of working applications mostly construction enterprises. Scientist first started mixing relatively alike animals, without any good results giving birth to grotesque malformed creatures. Finally the scientist Dr. Harold Bahkens was able to mix a rat and a porcupine, with a long and complex process, with this done they started to mix human and animal genes, still with bad results, but Dr. Harold made it again with the first successful hybrid, it was almost human exempting its long ears longer face and more body hair, his strength was somewhat bigger than a normal human and better sense of smell. Dr. Harold thought of this as his better work but died shortly after this, leaving all his formulas to his most trusted partner maintaining the knowledge of hybridization. Years came by and after some research scientist concluded that hybrids more animal than humans were more successful, but needed to walk on their hind legs, have opposable thumbs, human torso muscles, and human mind. The scientists kept all their specimens on a secret subterranean area far from any unprepared human eye.
It wasn't until 2107 that the first human-dog hybrid came to be, he had a dog head with higher forehead, ears, fur covered body, hind legs with longer thighs, tail, and genitals all this like a dog; with humanlike arms and paws except for the claws, torso muscles, and longer headfur. The scientist celebrated on their success, ha! they didn't even expected what was coming later. This being which was named Raks, presented an almost human mind and speech with the exception of some natural instincts of the animal part, and excellent senses like those of a dog, with superior strength of a common human. He was tested on various psychological test and proved to be totally reasonable.
On this success a series of hybrids with different animals were produced in vitro, getting ready to expose them to the public.
In the year of 2112 they were introduced openly to the public on a scientific museum, end permitted the public to ask questions to them, firstly some fearful people asked them and as time passed they lost fear in them, at the end there was a reserved exposition to business and military men who might be interested on placing a hybrid order. Various orders were placed but not to many due to high prices.
So furries, as the scientist liked to call them, where produced in masses to accomplish their new masters orders all of them male to avoid breeding. During their growing time special neighborhoods were built for the furries to live, which was a security requirement not to mix them directly with human citizens.
When the furries were all ready to work they started populating the neighborhoods. A scientist thought that making females and breeding them with males was an easy way to reduce prices and keep producing new furries without using all those expensive in vitro cloning machines.
This was put to the test and a female furry was made, this of course made all the existing furries very happy. She then was bred with a male and produced a healthy pup. Then a mass number of females where produced and a breeding program was made, every once in a while on different dates females had to come forcefully to breed with other males, and thus maintaining a constant number of furries coming.
In the beginning all this breeding was carefully checked and free willful breeding was forbidden, only the scientist could tell who and when should they breed. This made all the furries angry, but know one paid attention.
Males and females lived in separated neighborhoods but they still managed to breed without any consent from the scientists. From the shards of history left from that time this writing was found from a personal diary of a female furry:
