Chapter 2: Hidden valley

~Centre of the dragon lands, Cruelties heart fortress.~

One of the wyrm henchmen slowly made his way to the throne room his master was in. As he passed the guards and entered the throne room he gulped, he was about to be the bringer of bad news.

"I trust you're here for a good reason?" The great wyrm asked, coiled within the large throne.

"Yes sir, it is about the child of prophecy..." He started.

"Ahh good. Things all went well then?" He said but then saw the messenger look down, causing him to growl. "The runt got away! Where's the idiot who failed to complete such a simple task!!"

"Dead sir, found a pile of ash's with his head gem among it." The messenger said nervously.

"Then the failure is passed on to you."

"Wait what!? But I'm no....GAH!!" The wyrm yelled but was interrupted as he felt a chocking force around his neck and was dragged towards his master by the same force.

"Do not question me!" He said and kept pulling his messenger towards him via telekinesis. "Now if you don't want to be blamed for failure you should never witness it, and there's only one sure way of doing that..."

"No.. Please no don't!!" The messenger chocked out, panicking and struggling against his masters grip. Alas it was all in vain as with one swift motion, the great wyrm ripped out his messengers eyes, making him scream in agony.

"Take him away." The wyrm said, throwing the now blind and screaming messenger away for his guards to dispose of. As his messenger was dragged out he sighed and said. "The runts parents are dead, may it perish in the wilderness alone as it try's to flee."

~Forbidden lands, Spire foot hills.~

Tom collapsed by the bottom of a small, exhausted from his trip. He glanced around with each of his heads and knew this place must be the lifeless area around the barren Black Spire mountains. "Where safe." He muttered.

"But for how long." He muttered but from his left head.

"They wont come out here, no one dares." He replied from his right head.

"Not now guys." Toms central head said, being the one that always spoke for Tom while the other two seemed to have minds of there own at times.

"Sorry, thought some conversation would be good for you.." The right said.

"Talking to my self is good for me?" Tom muttered and lay his heads down and curled up. The other two said nothing more and just went silent as Tom tried to get to sleep and forget to day, but he ended up breaking out in tears as he remembered what happened.

After about an hour he had finally cried himself to sleep, hoping to be left alone and in peace. But that didn't happen. A few dragons landed near him. "Another runaway.." One muttered.

"Not a normal runaway, look at him... Hasn't the Elder spoken something about a dragon who looks like this?"

"Indeed... Alright let's bring him straight to him, we might just have what we need." The third said, seeming like the leader of the three. The other two nodded and the first picked the young drake up and put him upon his back. They all then spread there wings and took flight, flying between the spire mountains.

~Hidden valley, Black Spire mountains.~

Tom groaned, waking up slowly. He awoke to see the face of a grey scaled dragon in front of him. He shot back slightly, looking around at his new surroundings and the three other dragons in the room.

"Relax young one, we are not your enemies." The old grey dragon said.

Tom relaxed slightly, sensing no hostile intent from any of these four dragons. "Where am I, who are you?" He asked, glancing at each of the dragons.

"This is the hidden valley, the one safe haven for dragons from the wyrm. As for who we are I am Elder Grey Moon." The old grey dragon said. His shape was similar to that of a water dragon, except even more serpent like. He lacked horns and wigs and had a sort of large crest over the top of his head and all the way round his neck. He also had bits of what could be described as hair like features, forming a sort of beard hanging off his chin, giving a look of intelligence about him. "And these three are the ones who found you, Flame Wolf, Leaf Wing and my second In command Stone breaker." He introduced and each did a small nod as their names where said.

"Why do you have such weird names?" Tom asked, examining the three. Flame Wolf was a typical fire dragon, being the build of most normal European dragons you would see and having red scales with orange underbelly and wings. Unusually he also had some fur on parts of his body, mainly his back, chest and tail. Leaf Wing was around half the size of all the other dragons and having dark green scales, normal for wind dragons. He had no wings or horns and just had a membrane of skin connected between his long legs. Stone Breaker's scales where a deep shade of black giving him a nearly evil feel despite his nature. His body was a standard earth dragon appearance. He had one horn on his left side curled up like a rams, the other though was ripped off from some battle long ago. He also seemed very similar to Tom in appearance.

"Are names and previous lives are behind us, the elder renames us when we join the valley." Leaf Wing said.

"That means I will have a new name then I guess." Tom said.

"Indeed Three Sun, welcome to the hidden valley." Grey Moon finally said.
