I started this story a while ago, and while its not completly finished, i can put out a few chapters and well see what u all think. please comment and tell me where u think this work should go!

Part 1: the Change

Dawn struggled awake, her head was pounding and her stomach was telling her in no

uncertain terms that she hadn't eaten in a while. Looking around, she found she wasn't in

the woods anymore, but a brightly lit room with several beds, some separated by curtain

dividers. With a start, she realized that she was in a hospital.

Dawn tried to think back, but the last thing she remembered was getting to within sight of

Veilstone City with Ash, Brock and Pikachu. She remembered that they had stopped for

lunch on the shore of a small lake and she distinctly remembered letting her Piplup and

Buizel out of their pokeballs for some training before her next Pokemon Contest. After

that things were a blur. Sitting up in her bed, Dawn noticed that her friends were all

sleeping near by, slouched on chairs, benches, anything that was available. Her Piplup

stirred as she sat up in bed, opening its eyes and regarding her. The blue penguin had

been her first pokemon when she started her journey from Twinleaf Town after her tenth

birthday, and was her best partner in Contests.

"Piplup, what happened? Why am I in the hospital?" Piplup looked at her for a second

or two, and then opened its beak. However, instead of it saying syllables of its name over

and over, as most pokemon will with their own languages, Piplup actually spoke.

"Team Rocket made another grab for Pikachu while we had our lunch, we beat their

latest machine but you were caught in the blast, Ash sent Staravia for help and you were

brought here. You've been unconscious for a whole week now and...why are you staring

at me like that Dawn?"

"I must have hit my head pretty hard, you're not talking like you normally do Piplup, I

mean, I'm understanding every word you say. I guess I'm just dreaming though, no need

to worry." Piplup however looked shocked.

"Dawn! You can understand me?"

"Somehow, yeah. I don't understand it myself, how could something like this happen?"

Piplup shrugged.

"All I know is you were given some kind of experimental treatment, maybe I could ask

Pikachu, he's much more experienced than I am." Dawn nodded to the penguin

pokemon, lost in thought as she tried to remember what happened to her. She was still

trying to remember when Ash, Brock and Pikachu woke up. Ash just grinned when he

saw she was awake

"Hey Dawn, how are you feeling?" He walked over to her bed and sat down on the edge,

Pikachu jumping up to its usual position on his shoulder.

"Oh, I'm fine Ash, no need to worry." Ash made a face.

"You know when you say that is when we worry the most, is something wrong?" Dawn

grimaced, but lowered her gaze.

"To tell you the truth, I'm not really sure. I woke up a few minuets ago really confused,

and then Piplup started talking to me, but I understood everything it said. Like it was

speaking in a human language." Dawn saw Pikachu glance at Piplup, and Piplup's nod

of assent.

"But that would be impossible..." Dawn started at the sound of the electric mouse's

musings.

"Why should it be impossible Pikachu?" She quickly clapped a hand over her mouth as

both Ash and Brock stared at her.

"Something's not right here, how could Dawn suddenly understand both Pikachu and her

Piplup so perfectly?" Brock started to pace as he tried to put his thoughts together.

Dawn turned her attention towards Pikachu as Ash left to find a nurse or doctor to let

them know that she was awake.

"Hey Pikachu, Piplup said something about an experimental treatment being given to me.

Do you know anything about it?" Pikachu shook its head.

"Sorry Dawn, I didn't understand anymore then Piplup, but from what the doctor told

Ash and Brock, I gathered that you were given an infusion of pokemon blood and then a

mix of Super Potion and a few other things." Dawn could only stare at Pikachu.

"I was given pokemon blood?" She asked. Pikachu nodded.

"The doctor said this treatment showed a lot of promise and that it was perfectly safe for

humans." Dawn nodded to Pikachu as Ash came back with a doctor. After a brief check,

during which Dawn was asked a few questions that made her blush to the roots of her

hair, she was released from the hospital with her friends.

That night they made camp not far from the outskirts of Veilstone City, as usual, Dawn

slept in her tent while Ash, Brock and Pikachu elected to sleep under the stars. After

eating a delicious dinner, prepared and cooked by Brock, Dawn decided to turn in early

as she felt a little strange and thought that a good night's sleep would help. She said her

goodnights to her friends and then climbed into the tent to change into her nightshirt for

bed. She was asleep almost before her head hit the pillow.

Her dreams that night were, for the lack of a better term, decidedly odd. It seemed as

though she were running across a grassy field toward a forest. She had no idea why she

was running like this, she only knew that it felt really good to be exerting herself in such

a manner. Then she was eating berries from a bush, they had something of a spicy taste,

but they filled her belly well. The rest of the night passed much the same way, the

dreams seemed almost random, but they still managed to be pleasant.

She woke the next morning still feeling a little strange, but better than she had last night.

Stretching to relive some stiffness, Dawn reached over to her backpack for her hairbrush

as she normally did, until she saw her hand. What she saw shocked her so she did the

only sensible thing she could think of. She screamed.

well, there it is, Part 1 of a new series that i really hope will do well in the times to come. this is my first shot at doing a lemon story and a pokemon story, so please, be kind.
