After I completed the Pioneer 1 series, I decided to ask the assistance of one of my friends on here. Trailstoride. I needed a little practice and diversion from the way I normally write, and so I asked him to tell me as much as he could about his fursona, and I would include his character as the main character (Pioneer was the opposite, I was given the story arch and premise with no characters.

** Please note there are some important details left missing intentionally. This was not a mistake. Things happen fast, and little details can be missed by the people experiencing it.

I lightly smiled at the music coming from my ear buds, A nice Mozart Symphony. A lively one. The Jupiter, No. 40. da da dee dum da da de dum..da da de dum........I hummed to myself as the music started. I trotted down the lane.

The lane wound around the summer cabin I had rented. All the land was normal suburbia, except for the land across the street, National Forrest land. I jogged along the trail depicted by the signs and the guides given me by the Forrest guide.

I sighed deeply letting my breath out of my nostrils in one big snort. My mouth was part open to allow my huge breaths in as effortlessly as if my nose was closed.

I grimaced at that. Too much was expected of us equines. We had to be virile, studly, etc. Until I expressed the interest in swimming and in classical music.

I fumed at that a little, letting my equine personality get to the problem a little.

Fuck them. I am who I am

It was a weak rant, as I knew who I was. I was a good equine, a normal equine, I pulled my weight and was happy in what I did. Pull the load, tote that bale. I snorted a little in annoyance. My normal job just bored me to tears. Here I was, on vacation, and ready to enjoy my time out here even if it was momentary.

I'd known the family who owned the old cabin for years, they were friends of my parents. I'd rent it once a year, and come out here and just run, swim, and enjoy nature as it was intended to be. I loved how the sunlight played through the trees, how the river nearby always sang it's soft sweet song in the late afternoons as the waters curled around the stones on it's bank.

I trotted down by the river bottom, the houses leaving my rear view quickly. My breath grew to a steady pace. I timed it to the symphony in my head.

I glanced down every now and then. The river was more of a creek during the hot summer. It had rocks, branches, an arm and fingers.

I stopped quickly and waded in. I was a strong fast swimmer but the figure before me was trapped in branches. It would only take a strong form a few minutes to get him free. I fought with the branches, tearing one by one from their embedded roots, dried or not, I didn't care.

The figure was free. He was on his back, floating gently in the current once I freed him, his golden coat belied his lineage. He was a blond and strapping palomino. My breath caught.

"Oh my!" Was all I could get out.

He looked helpless and lost and almost totally drowned. I grabbed him and pulled him to the shore. I looked around and whinnied for help, none was coming. It was the middle of the week in June. I was probably all by myself here in the woods.

I bent down. His breaths came evenly, his coat was golden, and his mane was almost white. He was shirtless, with jean shorts of some type. He looked very very muscular. I coughed a few times to try to get his attention.

Finally I had to slap his muzzle a bit to get him to wake up. He looked at me bleary eyed, then his eyes locked on me. He flailed in the water harshly as he awoke.

**

Oh God, I should be dead, I need to be. For what I have done...forgive me....then I saw the eyes. The deep brown eyes.....I cried deep in my chest, but kept my reactions normal as I was taught at the last house. But when I saw them---they were so deep, so brown, like my grandfathers....

**

I hobbled him out of the river once I calmed him down, one of his arms around my shoulders, his wet fut causing my shirt to sag with dampness in the afternoon. I just cooed to him and encouraged him to hobble along to the cabin. I finally got him inside and to the downstairs bedroom, I laid him on the bed

Once on my bed, I put on Mozart to try to calm him. The slightly older stereo took a while for me to get it to work, but finally the familiar strains of Mozart came on. I cursed as the 39th of Mozart's came up. It was calm enough in the beginning, but my the middle, it would be raucous.

The younger stallion looked at me with frightened eyes, he leaned up on his elbows and gave me a wary look.

"Oh come on! I'm not going to rape you, you were drowning in a river! How did you get there?

"What happened?"

The poor equine laid on my bed, I pondered the blondish palomino. He was every bit of the Palomino of legend, strong, muscular, and very slender, but very strong. I admired his physique, being a bit bigger I knew what it would take to get muscles like that on his frame and I admired the work he had put into them.

**

He stared at me, "Well, things didn't go well, we were caught and now I am here," He replied shortly, ducking his head lightly in submission. He looked very scared and young, but I knew he was of age. He had the attitude of abuse though, something that heralded issues to come. But he had that authority even if he had been abused all his life. All equines knew it. I nodded. He leveraged himself to his elbows again, and I helped him sit up.

He shook his wild mane to clear his head, and winced at the feeling.

I quickly took my knee and took his head in my hands. I stared at him and smirked a little.

"What happened? What caused this?"

The other equine responded with a kiss. I was not ready for that. I pulled away carefully, making certain I didn't break the kiss harshly. His lips were warm and wonderful, and lightly sweet with the hint of Bermuda on him. He must have had lunch just before whatever happened.

I pulled back, putting one hand on his chest.

"This is not the time" I whispered. I so wish it was though. In my fleeting heart, and in my soul I so wanted it to be the time. This time. Now.

The other equine ducked his head again.

"Sorry, but well...."

**

My eyes opened briefly. I saw the huge horse standing over me. He was a big bay. Period. There is nothing else for description other than imposing, but repossessing. He seemed smaller than he was physically, at least he tried to physically make himself smaller by scrunching himself down. His fist was on his chin, he was contemplating me!?

**

"Well you are injured, but how do you feel?"

**

The huge stallion reached down to cup my chin. For a moment I shuddered. He shook his equine head in annoyance.

"Oh come on! I'm not going to rape you, you were drowning in a river! How did you get here?

I gulped trying to answer.

** The poor Palomino swore profusely as he told his story. He had been discovered, with another male a few years ago, then he was taken to a home and then another, when he wasn't cured. The equine was gay. Very gay. He wanted another male badly.

He'd been taking to a "Cure Home" for gays. Places where gay furs could be transformed into upright, upstanding citizens that had no gay in them.

I shook my mane at that. He was handsome and had no hint of gay about him.

I helped him up onto his shaky legs. He was a little cautious at my leading him, but finally I got him into the next room over and into the nice soft leather recliner. This cabin had a study and it was one of the reasons I loved it. I had to have books around me, and my music to calm my nerves.

The poor palomino kept glancing around once in a while, his eye taking in the as I took the phone and I rang the local police.

He shuddered a little at that, but I just gave him a reassuring pat. I talked for a while on the phone. "Yes....in the river. A "Cure home" I think they called it. Almost drowned. No he's ok."

I hung up the phone.

We talked for a while, and then soon the police arrived.

I knew the places he was sent were not sanctioned by the local medical authorities, and some of them were considered houses of abuse. The officer on the other line had said they would send a car down shortly to take custody of the poor guy.

They took a statement from him. I tried to keep my eyes down. This would be the last time I would see the poor guy. Sure I was the knight in shining armor, but when was my turn?

Finally I turned and shook his hand. He looked shocked. I actually shook his hand, like I was 70. Then he was in my arms, hugging me hard. 'Thank you!' He whispered into my ear, and my ear alone. I nodded. He was ushered out of my house. I sighed deeply looking at the empty door wondering if anything else would befall me.

I just realised, I didn't even know the Palimino's name.
