Chapter 3 â€" Liek and the "Crazy Killer"

Location â€" Valley High School: Classroom

"Why does my head hurt so much?" mumbled Liek as he tried to sit up during an important lecture that will be his test the next day.

"Did you stay up and drink any alcohol?" whispered a person next to him.

"Not that I know of anyways," mumbled Liek some more before he returned his head to the table.

Ever since the event with my laptop up until now has been some sort of a blur cause I don't remember anything that happened at all. All my memories surmise up to is that I turned on my laptop after dinner and that's it. I also have a thirst for raw food now that I think about it. Sometimes I wonder whether it is even worth trying to remember.

"Get some Tylenol or something. You look like you have a horrible hang over," whispered the same person.

"You have any on you?" asked Liek quietly.

"Don't think so. Think Dan took the last one from me," answered the person.

"That's just great," moaned Liek. "Could you make the teacher shut up so I can get some peace and quite?"

"Impossible man. Just last until the end of the day," said the person.

"Don't think I'll last till the end of the period," said Liek.

Location â€" Valley High School: Outside of Classroom

"Dude, you really need some sleep. That's why I always look to god for help," said the same person to Liek.

"Why do you need to keep bringing up religion, Joe?" asked Liek.

"Cause it brings salvation to the soul," replied Joe enthusiastically.

"What ever you say. Just stop talking religious to me," said Liek as they walked away from the classroom.

"Hey, did you hear about the accident today?" asked someone behind them.

"What accident?" asked a second voice behind them.

Accident? This sounds interesting not that I should be anyways but still...violence is awesome to the human mind.

"You know that senior that you have a crush on, right?" asked the first voice.

"Ya, what about him?" asked the second voice.

"His car was found this morning. It was all crushed and on fire. He was also in it when they found the wrecked car. Reports say that he's dead," answered the first voice.

Liek started to slow down a little to get a better hearing of this gossip. Joe looked at Liek and was wondering why Liek was walking slower until he caught the end of the first voice's sentence.

"What?! That can't be possible! What was the cause of the fire!?" exclaimed the second voice in shock.

"Dunno but it's very mysterious since their was nothing else around to have caused the fire or to fuck up a car badly," answered the first voice. "You don't think there are people with superpowers right?"

"That's not possible! Superpowers don't exist! Even you know that! No one just ups and dies for no reason!" shouted the second voice.

Mysterious reasons? That can't be possible since everything has to have a reason behind it. That's what mom and dad taught me anyways but I think that it holds true for everything. I wonder if this is just something or if it has something to do with my memory. Naw, this is just a mere coincidence.

"Hurry Liek or we're going to be late for class!" said Joe as he started to run.

Liek began to run after him but he couldn't stop thinking about the mysterious accident. It's amazing that someone with a headache can still think about something with a great mystery attached to it.

Location â€" Liek's House: Liek's Room (After School)

"Now I can rest and relax for a couple of hours," said Liek as he dropped his backpack on the floor and lay down in his bed.

Liek closed his eyes out of fatigue and started to dream about cookies and milk before images of his laptop started to constantly appear either next to a cookie or swimming in the milk. No matter how hard Liek tries to run from the laptop in his dreams, the laptop is always in front of him. A pleasant dream started to turn into a nightmare until he opened his eyes and starred at the ceiling above him. Breathing heavily, he started to think about what he dreamed about as he calmed down.

"What the hell was I dreaming about?" said Liek dumbfounded.

"Oh, I would hardly call that a dream. More like a nightmare," said a deep voice to his left.

Immediately, Liek sat up in his bed and looked to his left. The back of a chair facing Liek as he tried to see who was sitting in the chair. The constant sound of tapping laptop keys resonated from the chair as Liek got up. By the time he was standing, the chair spun around so that Liek could see who was sitting in it.

"Hello again. By the look on your face you don't recognize me. That's okay, we only met for about a day anyways," said the person in the chair.

"Who are you? I can't even make out your face," said Liek cautiously as he scanned his room for a weapon.

"Again with this annoying question. When are you going to get it into your head that I am you and you are I? Honestly, humans are the most confusing species I've ever seen. Next to a Vorbus anyways," said the person.

The person looked down at laptop before realizing what was wrong.

"Forgot I was wearing black clothing," said the person as it got up and removed the black gloves and hood that covered its face.

What the hell am I looking at?! Is that...thing...an animal? Is that thing a special form of science that the military came up with? What ever it is, I gotta get rid of it.

"Don't give me that 'what the hell are you' look and don't even think about getting rid of me! I'm just here trying to prove something to you. That's all. Besides, my people disproves of your species anyways," snapped the animal like thing as it read Liek's face.

"Just who the hell are you and how'd you get into my room!?" exclaimed Liek trying not to look afriad.

"I am Li'thel, Commanding Officer of the Fell. I came in the same way I took you to my world. Through your laptop," answered Li'thel but Liek wasn't really listening as he was starting to think he was crazy.

Lion's head, hands and feet with fur on them, and vicious looking. I have to be crazy or hallucinating. No, I'm still dreaming. This has got to be a dream that I can wake up from. Ya, that's right. A dream. There's no other explanation to what I'm seeing and I'm not schizophrenic and this isn't my imagination. I'm way too old for imagination.

Li'thel sighed before saying, "Do you want to make this easy or hard on you? It won't really make much of a difference to me on what you choose."

Maybe I should slap my self. Pinching works too but it doesn't work unless somebody else does it. I know, mom could pinch or slap me. That's the perfect plan for everything. Mom always knows what to do.

"Your mom is not at home if you didn't catch the note in the kitchen AND in front of your door," said Li'thel.

"What?! There was a not on my door and I didn't see it?!" exclaimed Liek as he dashed to his door and opened it only to find that there really is a note on the door.

"Your mom went out to by stuff and won't be back until about late at night so eat what you want since the money is on the kitchen table," said Li'thel as he summarized the note.

No, this can't be true. Mom would never do this except every first Wednesday of each month. There's no way this is true since this isn't mom's handing. I know mom's hand writing so I'm stuck in the house with a crazy killer who has fur on his (automatic assumption since most psychotic killers happen to be male) hands and feet. That lion's head is probably a mask to hide his true identity. I should save myself while I still can. Ya, mom's gonna freak if she finds me dead. There's no way I'm going to die.

"In about a few seconds he's going to bolt out of the room, run down to the kitchen, and defend himself with a kitchen knife under the assumption that I am a male psychotic killer using a lion's mask to hide my true identity. Does he really miss a moving mouth?" mumbled Li'thel as he watched Liek from the chair.

"You're not going to kill me! I'm too young to die!" shouted Liek as he dashed out of the room

Location: Liek's House: Kitchen

I need something to defend myself from this crazy killer. But what can I use? Bowls are useless and so are my mom's cooking supplies. Fruit knives aren't long enough and the cleaver sucks in my hands. I know! The knife set my mom got for her birthday. They're really sharp and she hasn't touched them yet.

Li'thel descended the stairs and entered the kitchen to face the armed Liek. Li'thel looked at Liek's stance and smirks as he finds all of the easy openings in Liek's stance.

"Amateur," smirked Li'thel as he began to walk forward.

"Stay back! I have a knife in my hands and I totally don't know how to use it to kill someone!" shouted Liek.

"No need to get violent here. I'm no psychotic killer. If I was, you'd be asleep in your bed. I probably rape you first but I didn't do either. Now put the knife down before someone gets hurt. By someone, I mean you," said Li'thel hiding the amusement.

"Stop where you are or...I'll throw this orange at you!" commanded Liek picking up an orange as his legs started to shake.

"What can an orange do to me? I'd probably eat it and that's about it," said Li'thel walking slowly to Liek.

"I'm warning you! I don't know how to use a knife but I will to protect my own safety," shouted Liek.

"Liek! Put that knife down before you cut yourself and hurt the orange!" shouted a voice behind Li'thel.

"You could've come at a faster time so that none of this would have happened you know," said Li'thel without turning his back.

"Mom! Get away from him! He's a crazy killer in disguise!" shouted Liek.

"Honestly Liek, you really need to stop watching CSI and bloody horror movies," said Lily as she walked past Li'thel and grabbed the knife and orange out of Liek's hands.

"You really know how to raise a child don't you, Lily," said Li'thel sarcastically.

"Isn't he just a bundle of joy Li'thel?" said Lily happily.

"What the hell's going on here?! Aren't you going to call the police or something?!" exclaimed Liek.

"There's no need to sweetie. Li'thel is a good friend of mine aside from his monstrous appearance and potentially threatening and dangerous looking eyes," replied Lily.

"WHAT?! YOU'RE REALLY A MAN?!" exclaimed Liek.

"For the fucking last time! I am you and you are I! Get that through your fucking think skull already!" said Li'thel vehemently.

"I thought you wanted to ask Liek something Li'thal," said Lily.

"I would have if this asshole didn't think I was some sort of crazy killer. Anyways, what do you think about today's mysterious accident?" asked Li'thal.

"Mysterious accident? Liek, do you know anything about that?" asked Lily.

"No! I know nothing about it!" answered Liek quickly.

"Grrr. Do you believe in other worlds are not?!" shouted Li'thel.

"NO! I NEVER will!" shouted Liek.

"Then I'll make you remember what happened last night! Since you seem to have forgotten," said Li'thel as he approached Liek at an astounding speed.

"What are you doing to me?! Let go of me! There's no way in hell I'm going anywhere with you!" struggled Liek.

"Yes you are. Now shut your trap or I'll do it for you," scolded Li'thel but Liek refused to listen.

"I'm never going to get any cooking done at this rate," said Lily to herself as he grabbed a ladle from one of the drawers and struck Liek on the top of his head with it.

"Stop complaining and go with Li'thel. It will be a good psychological and cultural experience for you," said Lily in a serious tone.

"Come on," said Li'thel dragging Liek behind him.

Location: Liek's House: Liek's Room.

"Sit right there and don't move," commanded Li'thel as he let go of Liek and grabbed the laptop.

Great, my mom is friend's with this crazy person and she isn't even freaking out. It turns out this thing is really male and that I shouldn't be mean to him but he's a fucking crazy person for god's sake! Why would she side with the freak anyways?! I'm her son so she should be saving me from all of this trouble. Cultural experience my ass.

"This is going to hurt you a lot more than it's going to hurt me," said Li'thal as he smashed the laptop's screen on top of Liek's head.

Instead of a bleeding head or an aching head, Liek went right into the screen and came out from another laptop in a room similar to his. Liek fell onto the floor once he was completely through whereas Li'thel was on his feet when he came through afterwards.

"Just to let you know, you're going to get a really big headache and I am a lion so no more crazy killer wearing a lion's mask to hide his real identity," said Li'thel bending down to pick up the laptop.

The moment Li'thel finished his sentence, the ground shook as a great explosion was heard in the distance and Liek receives another giant headache as he remembered everything that happened to him after he closed his laptop last night.
