My best friend the dino
#26 of Paco and Sid
A story about a boy and best friend dinosaur.
Sid walked through the deep, dark forest. The shade of the big trees cast their shadows over the cold, hard ground as the boys footsteps. The dust from the steps Sid took brought a little dust up every time his foot hit the dusty ground. What the boy was looking for in the forest was his best friend: A dinosaur. Sid had no idea how his friend was still around even though all of the other dinosaurs had died out but maybe it was best not to question these kind of things. Books didn't always have the answer to things, despite the pleas of nerds and librarians everywhere. When was the last time a book had said that there was a purple T-rex living the woods?
"Paco!? Where are you?!" Sid called out as he continued to look round the forest. He had been exploring these words ever since he was young but even HE got lost in here sometimes. And unfortunately, this time was one of those times. "Dammit..." He groaned as he stopped for a second. How long did it take to find a T-rex in the woods? It shouldn't be like finding a letter in an entire book! Geez, this was annoying. It was then when he grabbed of his feet and forced into a giant purple belly. "Hey little guy." A voice said as the gurgles of his big belly were heard by the small human in his arms. Said human looked up and smiled at his best bud.
"Nice to see you too Paco!" He grinned as he hugged back, nuzzling the massive tummy and cuddling in, nice and close. The two friends always loved hugging each other. It just felt really nice on both ends. "So... Watcha wanna do today?" Paco said as he loosened his grip slightly. Sid thought for a second. "Ummm.... How about we play hide and seek?" He asked as he wiggled out of the dinosaurs big arms. "Sure! Dibs on seeking first!" Paco grinned as he shut his eyes and the boy ran off to find a half-decent hiding spot.
100 seconds later. Paco had finished what seemed like an eternity of counting and began to search the area for his buddy. It certainly didn't help that finding anyone or anything in the darkness of the shady trees was easier said than done. Much easier. Sid meanwhile, had hidden himself behind a tree near a waterfall. The loud crashes and splashes of the water hitting the bottom below muffled his breathing like a blanket and there was absolutely no way he could find... "Found you!"
Sid jumped as a giant purple head reached around the tree and scared the living heck out of him. At the same time, the cliff they were on began to crack and the two fell headfirst into a large stream. The two friends took a welcome breath of oxygen as they poked their heads out of the water before Sid finally spoke. "Maybe next time we should play something else..." Paco just nodded in agreement and gave his little buddy another big hug. He was so relieved that Sid was safe and happy that meant the world to him. The two continued to cuddle, not even bothering to get out of the water. It didn't even bother them a bit, now that they were in each others arms.
