Chris sighed happily and stretched as he woke up late the next morning. He looked to his left and saw Brutus, his head in his paws, sitting on the edge of the bed. The human sat up and kissed the Dalmatian's cheek, frowning as the Dalmatian shied away.

"Is everything alright baby?" Chris asked.

"We had sex last night," Brutus whined, "I'm freaking out Chris."

Chris kissed Brutus's cheek again and rubbed the Dalmatian's shoulders. The Dog shrugged the human off and got up from the bed. It was apparent that he hadn't slept much. Brutus began to pace, his head in his paws. Chris sighed.

"We were safe," Chris began, "There's no reason to worry."

Brutus stopped pacing and whined.

"There's a huge reason to worry," Brutus replied, "You didn't forget did you?"

"Of course I didn't forget," Chris sighed, "God did you sleep at all? You look like shit."

Brutus shook his head and began to pace again.

"I had nightmares," Brutus replied, "I dreamed I got you sick. Then you were mad and dumped me."

Chris sighed.

"Then," Brutus shook his head, "I moved on, everything was perfect in my life, I had a new man and everything. Then you outlived me."

"That's not going to happen," Chris began, "I'll get tested as soon as we get home, I promise."

"What if you do get sick though?" Brutus asked, "God, I wouldn't be able to live with myself Chris."

Chris sighed and pat the bed beside him.

"Just sit down Brutus," Chris began, "Take some deep breaths and relax."

The Dalmatian sat down and put his head back in his paws. Chris put his arm around his boyfriend and rested his head on Brutus's shoulder. Brutus chuckled and kissed Chris's cheek.

"Thanks for putting up with me," Brutus smiled, "I'm sorry I'm being a worrywart."

Chris shook his head.

"You don't have to thank me," Chris replied, "It's what I'm here for. You can't be happy and worry free all the time. I'm just glad I'm there to help."

Brutus raised an eyebrow.

"That was pretty mature for a boy who's never had a boyfriend," Brutus chuckled, "Damn I'm lucky."

Chris shrugged.

"I'd do it for my friends," Chris sighed, "If I really had any that is. Growing up with no friends makes you really appreciate the ones that do end up becoming a part of your life. Hell, a boyfriend is just a friend that you can fall in love with."

Brutus's tail started to wag.

"Did you?" Brutus asked.

Chris looked into the Dalmatian's eyes.

"I don't know," Chris began, "I've never fallen in love before. I'll tell you one thing though. I sure as hell have more feelings for you than I did when I first did."

"I suppose that's good," Brutus began, "I feel the same way."

Chris kissed Brutus's cheek.

"You should try and get some more sleep," Chris began, "I'll take a shower and wake you up when I finish."

Brutus shook his head.

"Can't I join you?" Brutus asked, "We should try and conserve water. You know, with climate change and all, it's important for us to do our part to save the planet."

Chris chuckled.

"We shouldn't," Chris began, "I'd rather not have to speak to my mother about my sex life again."

"Did you run into her last night?" Brutus chuckled, "Oh God, what did you do?"

"Told the truth," Chris replied, "Well not the whole truth. She was cool."

Brutus nodded and got back into bed. Chris got up and put on a pair of shorts. The Dalmatian smirked and watched the human leave. Chris walked into Thomas's room and chuckled at the sight of his empty bed. Chris walked into the bathroom and started the shower up. He took a deep breath and got into the warm running water.

He groaned as he heard footsteps come into the bathroom. Brutus chuckled and pushed the curtain aside. The Dog poked his head in and looked over Chris's body.

"Sorry babe," Brutus began, "But I was just so guilty about the planet."

Chris rolled his eyes.

"Bullshit," Chris replied, "You just wanted to see me naked."

Brutus chuckled and threw the curtain back. His sheath was plumped and a sliver of crimson poked out from it. Chris looked over Brutus's muscular body, his eyes lingering over the Dog's package.

"Yeah," Brutus flexed and kissed his bicep, "You wanted me to put this naked body against you."

Chris blushed.

"You may have topped last night," Brutus continued, "But I know what you really want."

Chris looked down at his feet and back up at the Dalmatian.

"Will you deliver?" Chris asked, "Or do I have to beg?"

Brutus murred and got into the shower.

"Not today," Brutus began, "But I'd love to hear you beg for me."

Chris blushed hard as Brutus pressed his naked back against the wall of the shower. The Dalmatian murred and bent down to kiss the human deeply. He pressed his paws on either side of Chris's head, protectively and possessively surrounding the human with his furry body. Chris gasped and moaned quietly, allowing Brutus's tongue to enter his mouth. One of Brutus's paws moved down to rub over Chris's lower back.

"Brutus," Chris gasped and moaned as the Dog moved his mouth down to nibble over Chris's collarbone, "Fuck I like that."

Brutus chuckled and murred.

"I know you do, and I," Brutus moved his paw down to grab and knead Chris's ass, "I like this."

Chris bit his lip and moaned.

"I can go get the condoms and lube," Chris gasped and shuddered, "If you want to."

Brutus sighed and moved his paw back up.

"You know that I want to," Brutus began, "You know we can't, not yet."

Chris nodded and kissed over Brutus's muscular chest.

"You want another blowjob?" Chris asked, "We can do that right?"

Brutus shook his head.

"I want to," Brutus began, "I really do, but I'll get worried all over again. Can we hold off until after I get the news?"

"Ok Brutus," Chris replied, "We can."

The pair shared another kiss as someone knocked, hard on the door.

"Will you two hurry up?!" Sarah began, "You're going to use up all of the hot water."

Chris blushed hard and poked his head out of the shower.

"Yes Mom," Chris replied, "I'll be right out."

Brutus smirked.

"Me too," Brutus laughed as Chris punched his arm, "What's for breakfast?"

"Pancakes," Sarah barely concealed her mirth, "I'm making eggs too, Chris likes them runny. How about you Brutus?"

"The same," Brutus dumped a dollop of shampoo on Chris's head, "We'll be out shortly, I just got the shampoo in Chris's hair."

Sarah snorted and walked away from the door, laughing all the way back to the kitchen. Chris glared at Brutus. The Dalmatian chuckled and shampooed up his own fur.

"You said she was cool with it," Brutus chuckled and shook his head, "Sounds like she was to me."

"That doesn't mean that I want to flaunt our sex life to my mother," Chris replied indignantly, "Can you pass the conditioner."

Brutus chuckled and waited for Chris to wash out the shampoo. With a grin, the Dalmatian plopped a small amount of the human's conditioner onto his palm and rubbed it into Chris's hair. The human sighed and shook his head.

"I can do it myself you know," Chris quipped, "I am a big boy."

Brutus chuckled and washed the shampoo out of his fur.

"Fine," Brutus replied, "Guess I'll just head out then and eat all of the pancakes."

Chris gasped.

"You wouldn't dare," Chris hurried washed out the conditioner, "Wait for me at least."

Brutus shook his head and jumped out of the shower. The human meeped and hurriedly soaped himself up. The Dog whistled tunelessly, and slowly toweled himself off. Chris finished up and lunged out of the shower. He tripped and collided with the Dog. Brutus fell to the floor laughing, his body and arms keeping the human from harm.

"You ok?" Brutus licked the human's cheek, "I think I took the fall pretty well."

Chris chuckled and nodded.

"You shouldn't have threatened to take my pancakes," Chris got up from the floor, "Give me pancakes or give me-"

"A broken hip from falling out of the shower?" Brutus offered.

Chris scoffed and flipped Brutus the bird. The human grabbed his own towel and dried off quickly. He jumped as Brutus came up behind him and gave his rump a squeeze. Chris blushed and relaxed as the Dog started to kiss gently along his neck. The human giggled as Brutus's muzzle moved up his body and to his ear.

"Baby," Brutus's paw moved down to squeeze Chris's bulge through the towel, "Guess what I'm going to do?"

Chris giggled and moaned quietly.

"What?" Chris's breath caught as Brutus shed his towel and ground his hips against him.

"I'm going to get to those pancakes before you," Brutus licked the human's cheek and ran out of the bathroom.

Chris paused for a moment, processing what had just happened. He pulled on his shorts and ran to his bedroom to throw on a tee-shirt. The human sighed and walked into the kitchen, where his boyfriend stood with two plates of pancakes.

"I took the liberty of fixing you a plate," Brutus chuckled, "I need to watch my figure, whereas you..."

Chris stuck out his tongue and took the plate from the Dalmatian's paws. Brutus chuckled and crammed his mouth full of breakfast. Thomas and Barry were sitting at the kitchen counter, socializing with Chris's parents. Daniel turned to look at Chris with a grin.

"I'd never thought that I would have to make a rule about one body per shower," Daniel began, "I guess that's about to change."

Thomas snorted.

"Really Chris," Thomas began, "You couldn't wait until you got back to college?"

"At least I didn't sneak out last night," Chris retorted, "Last I checked there was a rule against that."

Thomas rolled his eyes.

"I'm 23," Thomas began, "It's not sneaking out if you are an adult."

Sarah cleared her throat.

"What's this about you sneaking out Thomas?" Sarah asked, "I don't care if you're an adult. You're still in my house."

Barry put his paw on Thomas's shoulder.

"He was with me," Barry chuckled, "It was for a good cause."

Thomas kissed the Dingo's paw.

"Do you two have some news for us?" Sarah asked, "Or are you going to make me guess."

Thomas chuckled.

"It's pretty obvious Mom," Thomas began, "But I finally asked Barry out."

"Finally?" Sarah asked, "Has he been your, trick? Is that what they're called?"

Thomas looked at Chris and shrugged.

"Lover I guess," Thomas began, "I don't know what the gay community calls them."

The whole room looked to Chris. The human looked up from his plate and blinked.

"What?" Chris looked back down at his plate, "Not all gay people know all the slang."

"I figured you would," Brutus began, "You do have a lot of older gay friends."

"That doesn't mean anything," Chris replied, "Just because they're old and gay doesn't mean they know everything about gay culture."

Sarah chuckled.

"Older gay friends?" Sarah asked, "How did that happen Chris?"

Chris chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Janet's brother introduced me," Chris began, "One of them, Max, is a really good friend of mine."

Sarah's eyebrow raised.

"Oh yeah," Sarah replied, "How'd you get to be such good friends?"

Thomas cleared his throat.

"I'm sure you'll hear that story in a couple of years Mom, don't you worry about that," Thomas began, "I'll be honest with you Chris, I hope you introduce Barry and I to those guys."

Chris blinked.

"Wait," The human chuckled, "Is Barry coming back with you?"

Thomas nodded and put a paw on the Dingo's shoulder.

"We've been doing whatever it is we've been doing long enough," Thomas chuckled, "I think it's about time for that to happen."

Barry looked down and blushed.

"I'm so excited," Barry began, "I'm so happy I actually get to date you now."

The pair smiled and shared a quick kiss. Daniel and Sarah looked at each other for a moment and looked away from the couple. Chris frowned at the display and was about to open his mouth. He was cut off by the piercing ring of the wall mounted telephone. Daniel walked over to the phone and answered it, studiously and politely.

After a few moments, the older male Fox blanched and hung up. He looked down at the floor and took a couple of deep breaths before looking up at Chris. The human sighed and put his plate down on the counter.

"Who was that Dad?" Chris asked, "Did it have something to do with me?"

Daniel nodded.

"It was just some reporter," Daniel sighed, "God, now it feels like it's really happening."

The phone rang again. Sarah growled and stormed up to the telephone. She hung up on the caller and left the phone off the hook. The vixen took a couple deep breaths and looked back at Chris.

"We've got to get you a lawyer sweetie," Sarah began, "I saw on the news that the Chancellor wants to fight this in court. I don't want that dirty bastard to get his son out of any of this. He deserves the worst they can give him.

Chris sighed.

"Ok mom," Chris replied, "Do you know who we could get?"

Daniel shook his head.

"I don't know if we can afford that sweetheart," Daniel put a paw on Sarah's shoulder, "Lawyers are expensive."

Brutus raised a paw.

"I could ask my family's lawyer," Brutus began, "She'd love to work a case like this."

"Your family's lawyer?" Sarah asked, "Why does your family need a lawyer?"

Brutus sighed and looked over at Chris. The pair locked eyes. The human nodded and stood behind the Dalmatian, his hand firmly grasping Brutus's shoulder. The Dalmatian sighed and looked over at Daniel and Sarah, who were now standing close together.

"I've got a lot to tell you guys," Brutus began, "There's some things you need to know about me."

Daniel and Sarah nodded.

"My family is rich," Brutus continued, "Very rich."

"Are they business owners?" Sarah asked, "How rich are we talking?"

"My great-grandmother is the majority shareholder of a fashion company in Italy," Brutus replied, "She's absolutely loaded."

Sarah blinked and fell silent.

"Anyways," Brutus started to pace, "That's how I can get Chris a lawyer."

Brutus paused and took a deep breath.

"There's something else I need to tell you guys too," Brutus started to pace again, "It's something that Chris already knows."

Chris watched Brutus from the side of the kitchen, worry etched into his face.

"I have FHIV," Brutus stopped walking and sighed, "I've had it for a couple of years."

The kitchen was silent for a few moments until Barry, tears in his eyes, stood up from his chair.

"Oh my god you poor dear," Barry walked up to the Dalmatian and hugged him tightly, "I'm so sorry."

Sarah looked at Chris and sighed.

"Jesus Chris," The vixen shook her head, "What are you doing?"

Chris looked at his mother and squared his stance, daring her to keep going.

"You have no idea what you're getting involved with don't you?" Sarah began, "You really, really, think you are ready to give Brutus the relationship he deserves. There's no way you are grown up enough to give him anything of value."

"What do you mean Sarah?" Chris asked, glaring forward at the vixen, "There's plenty I can do. It's not like I'm marrying this guy, he's my first boyfriend."

"I shouldn't have said anything," Sarah sighed, "I knew you wouldn't listen. You didn't when I told you not to come out of the closet until college and you won't listen now."

Barry looked over at Sarah and sighed.

"Don't be too hard on him," Barry began, "I think it's great that Chris is dating Brutus. Even if it doesn't last forever, Chris is still going to grow from it."

Daniel nodded.

"Just be safe Chris," Daniel looked down at the floor, "I don't know what I'd do if I heard you came down with FHIV."

Chris walked up and embraced his father.

"Don't worry Dad," Chris began, "We always are."

The vixen looked over her son and sighed. She walked over to the phone and put it back on the hook. Chris broke away from his father and walked over to his mother.

"What are you doing now?" Chris asked, "Those pricks are just going to keep calling."

"I know," Sarah began, "I just want to tell them not to bother talking to us until the trial."

The phone rang again and Daniel sighed.

"I guess it's starting then," Daniel began, "No turning back now."

Thomas walked up to his father and put his paw on the older male's shoulder.

"Don't worry," Thomas replied, "We can do this."

Chris nodded and looked over his family. For the first time since the attack he was feeling confident. At this point, he knew he was going to win.

Sunday morning

Chris sighed as he watched Brutus and Thomas load the car full of their suitcases. It had been a nice change of pace to be home, and Chris was not looking forward to what lay ahead at the campus. The human hadn't left the house all weekend, his family thought it would be best if the human laid low. Chris felt bad for Brutus, he knew that the Dalmatian would have loved to check out the town where his boyfriend grew up, but Brutus didn't seem to mind.

Barry walked over to the car with a smile, putting his suitcase into the trunk on top of Thomas's. The Dingo kissed his boyfriend and walked up to the front porch. He stood beside the human and looked over the car.

"You ready to go?" Barry asked, "If we leave now we should be at the college by dinner time."

Chris shook his head.

"I'm really not looking forward to going back Barry," Chris began, "I don't want to deal with any of this Andrew stuff."

Barry nodded and gave the human a hug.

"It'll be ok," Barry smiled, "Besides you've got the greatest people in your corner. We'll be with you every step of the way until it's over."

Chris nodded. The Friday after Thanksgiving, the court in Montana called the house and let Chris and his family know that the trial was set for two months from now. Luckily, Andrew was under house arrest, which meant that Chris should be safe for the near future. Chris's parents came out of the house and put their paws on the human's shoulder.

"We'll see you soon son," Daniel began, "This Christmas at the latest."

Sarah gave Chris a kiss on the cheek.

"You call if you need anything ok," Sarah smiled, "We'll be there in a heartbeat."

Chris nodded and smiled. The human's phone beeped in his pocket. Chris pulled it out and looked it over. Mitch had texted him.

Do you want to come over when you get home? I know you're probably fine with Brutus, but I'm worried about you.

Chris was surprised and nearly felt a blush creep onto his face. For a few moments, his pulse elevated and a dumb smile crept over his face. He was excited, and he didn't know why. He shook off the feeling and replied.

I'd love to hang to hang out. It would be good for me.

Thomas called up from the car.

"You ready to go Chris?" Thomas asked, "We've gotta hurry if we want to get back by tonight."

"Be right there," Chris called back as he walked down the steps, "I'll call you when I get back to the campus guys."

Chris's parents smiled and waved as Chris got into the car. Thomas smiled and backed out of the driveway, Barry's paw on the Fox's thigh.

"I can't believe I'm finally leaving," Barry began, "I haven't left since after graduation. You remember Thomas?"

Thomas chuckled and started driving out of the cul-de-sac.

"How could I ever forget," Thomas replied, "That trip to the Oregon Coast was a blast."

Barry blushed and looked down at his seat.

"That was also the first time we actually went on a date," Barry chuckled, "You were so nervous. I still remember sneaking out of the hotel before the rest of our friends woke up to go to Denny's."

Chris chuckled.

"Denny's huh," Chris began, "Sounds romantic."

Brutus rolled his eyes.

"You have no room to talk," Brutus interjected, "Our first date was a movie. That isn't exactly romantic."

Thomas chuckled.

"What movie did you guys see?" Thomas asked, "Not a porno right?"

"Spots," Brutus chuckled, "That movie with Damon Kane and Ebony Hildritch."

Barry giggled.

"Oh I loved that movie," Barry began, "Then again, I love anything with Damon Kane in it. That Dog is such a dream."

Thomas scoffed.

"I can't believe you took my brother to a porno," Thomas shook his head, "A porno with girls!"

Brutus shrugged.

"What? It was a romantic movie," Brutus chucked, "Besides, you got to see Damon Kane's cock."

Barry murred.

"Oh hell yes you did," Barry replied, "Someone somewhere is incredibly lucky."

Chris shrugged.

"It wasn't too porny," Chris interjected, "And for being about a straight couple the sex was actually really hot."

Brutus chuckled.

"Hell yes," The Dalmatian began, "Not even gay males can say no to Kathryn Burnett. She's got to be one of the hottest female humans out there."

Thomas chuckled.

"I said no to her," The Fox replied, "Practically broke her heart."

The car was silent.

"You met Kathryn Burnett?" Chris asked, "What the hell Thomas? Did you forget about our deal? If either of us met a celebrity we had to tell everything. Full disclosure."

"It's kind of an embarrassing story," Thomas began, "There's a reason I didn't tell you it."

"It's not too late," Chris smiled, "I want to hear this story."

Thomas sighed and turned onto the highway.

"Ok," The Fox began, "Do you remember that superhero movie that came out a couple of years ago?"

"Yeah," Chris replied, "Ember 2, we went to see that together in theaters when you got home from college."

Thomas nodded.

"She was filming some scenes up on the campus," Thomas continued, "When they wrapped up shooting, she went down to The Roost for drinks."

"No way," Brutus snorted and crossed his arms, "There is no way that a classy movie star like Kathryn Burnett would ever go to a dump like the Roost."

Chris elbowed Brutus in the side.

"Shush," Chris leaned forward, "I want to hear this story."

"Anyways," Thomas changed lanes on the highway, "It was my 21st birthday, and I was having one last drink. My friends had left already. As I was down to the last bit of my drink, Kathryn walks in. She was just swarmed, but somehow, she made her way to the crowd and sat down beside me."

Brutus leaned forward in his seat, his tail wagging in anticipation.

"She offered to buy me a drink, and I accepted," Thomas chuckled, "We talked for a while. She had been flirting with me the whole time, but at the moment, I didn't realize that until she ran her hand up my thigh."

Barry chuckled at the sight of Brutus, who was nearly drooling in the back seat. Chris rolled his eyes and sat back in his seat.

"God her hand was smooth," Thomas began, "After that, she asked me to walk her back to her hotel room. I accepted. We weren't even inside the room when she started kissing me. No matter what she did, she couldn't get me ready to play."

Brutus chuckled.

"What did she do man?" Brutus asked, "Full disclosure."

Thomas chuckled.

"Well," Thomas began, "She got naked and tried to give me a blowjob."

Brutus gulped, his tail standing straight up.

"Let me get this straight," Brutus shuddered, "Kathryn Burnett had her lips on your junk, and it didn't go anywhere?"

Thomas nodded.

"I told her no thank you, I was seeing someone," Thomas chuckled, "God, it was like I broke her heart. She had never been rejected by anyone before. Normally, Furs like me were putty in her hands, but that's how it happened."

Brutus chuckled and nudged Chris with an elbow.

"Your brother is an awesome fucking guy," The Dalmatian began, "I can't believe you didn't tell me."

Thomas scoffed.

"And I can't believe you didn't figure it out," Thomas chuckled, "I've been awesome since before you were born kid."

The car laughed uproariously. Chris looked over at Brutus and kissed the Dalmatian on the cheek.

"Hey," Chris began, "Is it ok if I go over to Mitch's tonight?"

Brutus blinked and looked over at the human.

"Why would you want to go over there?" Brutus asked.

Chris shrugged.

"He's worried about me," Chris began, "And besides, it would be good for me to go hang out with people."

Brutus grumbled.

"I don't like it," Brutus began, "But I can't stop you."

Chris nodded.

"Don't worry," Chris held the Dalmatian's paw, "I won't be spending the night."

Brutus chuckled and nuzzled Chris's cheek. The pair cuddled up together in the backseat, Chris's head resting on Brutus's shoulder. Thomas chuckled and looked back at the couple in the backseat.

"Do you guys want to play road games?" Thomas asked, "It's going to be a long drive."

Chris sat up and nodded, a huge smile on his face.

"Can we play I-Spy?" Chris began.

Brutus groaned and covered his ears. This long drive just got a lot longer.

Sunday Night

Chris knocked on Mitch's door again. He wrapped his winter coat tighter around him. The last time he had been in this position he was freezing his butt off. The Wolf answered the door with a grin on his face.

"I'm sorry if this is a bad time," Chris began, "My phone died on the way back."

"It's never a bad time," Mitch hugged the human, "Are you doing ok?"

Chris nodded.

"I don't have to worry about, you know, the trial for a while," Chris sighed, "I'm just trying to push it from my mind."

Mitch sighed and ushered the human in.

"Come on in and have a drink," Mitch began, "You actually had perfect timing. Owen just left with his new boyfriend."

Chris took off his coat and sat on the Wolf's couch.

"New boyfriend?" Chris asked, "Who is he?"

Mitch chuckled.

"Some track star," Mitch replied as he mixed the human a rum and coke, "He's a Pronghorn, very nice guy, they're so cute together."

"I thought that Owen was going to date you," Chris began, "I ran into him before I left for Thanksgiving."

Mitch laughed and handed the human his drink.

"He did," Mitch began, "For about five minutes. He got drunk, asked me out, and then ran straight for that track star."

Chris sipped his drink and blanched.

"Damn this is strong," Chris shuddered and set it down, "How much have you had today?"

Mitch rubbed the back of his head.

"Well," Mitch began, "A few. I can make you another one."

Chris shook his head.

"I'll just sip this one," Chris replied, "Thank you Mitch."

The Wolf smiled and sat down beside the human.

"Have you eaten yet?" Mitch asked, "I think I've got some leftovers around here."

Chris nodded.

"Yeah, my brother took Brutus, Barry, and I out to sushi," Chris replied, "It was pretty good."

Mitch shook his head and stuck out his tongue.

"How could you eat fish when the ocean is miles away?" Mitch asked, "That's got to be worrisome."

Chris laughed and nodded.

"I got noodles," Chris began, "They all gave me shit too. I was worried about worms."

"You date Dogs and you're worried about worms in fish," Mitch laughed, "That's pretty rich."

Chris chuckled and shook his head.

"What?" Chris replied, "Do Wolves not get worms or something?"

"I know that I don't have any," Mitch began, "But seriously, how is Brutus?"

Chris took another sip of his drink.

"He's good," Chris replied, "He went back to North Dakota with me for the weekend. My parents took the news that I was dating a Fur well."

"Good," Mitch nodded and gulped his drink down, "I'm glad they did."

The Wolf took a deep breath.

"Can I ask you something?" Mitch asked, "It's been on my mind since we've started talking again."

Chris blinked and set his drink aside. Mitch took another deep breath and turned his body around to face the human.

"If I didn't make such a fool of myself," Mitch began, "Would we still be dating?"

Chris bit his lip.

"I-I don't really know Mitch," Chris looked away, "I'm with Brutus, I care a lot for him, remember."

"I know," Mitch asked, "Would you have left me for him though?"

The pair sat in silence for a while.

"I don't want to talk about this," Chris sighed, "I should go."

Mitch whined and grabbed Chris's wrists.

"Wait," Mitch sighed, "Look, I asked you over to invite you to a party this weekend. Can you come?"

"Only if I can bring Brutus," Chris replied.

Mitch nodded, a defeated look crossing his face.

"Of course you can," Mitch began, "I assume you're leaving now."

"Yes," Chris replied and got up from the couch, "Get some sleep Mitch, I'll see you this weekend."

"Hey hold up," Mitch shakily stood up, "Let me walk you out."

Chris sighed and waited for the Wolf to steady himself. The human started to walk towards the wolf's door, grimacing at how close Mitch was to him. The hockey player put his paw on the human's shoulder. Chris turned to protest, but was pushed up against the wall by the larger male. Mitch looked down at him, his eyes swimming with tears.

"You don't know what you did to me do you?" Mitch shook his head, "God, you've been etched into my thoughts ever since I first smelled you. Remember that?"

Chris sighed.

"No," Chris began, "That wasn't me, that was just my pheromones going crazy."

Mitch growled and waved his paw like he was swatting the idea out of the air.

"No, from the night we met, from the first time I ever saw you, you've been on my mind," Mitch moved a paw to Chris's cheek, "I know you're with Brutus, but I need you Chris."

The human looked away.

"What you need is sleep," Chris replied, "You're only saying this because you've been drinking."

Mitch shook his head and whined.

"Can't I do what Brutus did?" Mitch asked, "I know he swept you off of your feet. I know I can do that."

Chris sighed.

"I don't want you to Mitch," Chris began, "I'm sorry but I don't think we'll ever be getting back together. I'm way too happy with Brutus."

Mitch shook his head.

"Can't you tell that you feel the same way for me that I feel about you?" Mitch asked, "I can smell it on you Chris, and believe it or not, Brutus can too."

"You're talking crazy," Chris began, "I just-"

Chris's eyes went wide as Mitch leaned in to kiss him. Stars shot past his vison and he could feel his knees threaten to give way underneath him. The feelings that he had developed for Mitch, feelings that the human thought he had quashed for good, came flooding up into his mind. The Wolf whimpered and held the human tightly, maintaining this tender kiss as long as he could. As Mitch broke away, a sob escaped Chris's mouth.

"I shouldn't have come here," Chris sniffled and rubbed his arm, "I need to go before I mess things up worse."

Mitch shook his head.

"Leaving my apartment will mess things up worse," Mitch wiped the human's tears, "You know how your heart feels right?"

Chris broke away from the Wolf and went back into his living room. A smile crept onto Mitch's face and his tail began to wag as he followed the human. Chris walked up to his drink and finished it, shuddering and grimacing as the harsh beverage travelled towards his stomach.

"I don't know how I feel Mitch," Chris began as the Wolf's arms embraced him from behind, "I'm with Brutus."

Mitch nodded and started kissing over the human's cheek.

"You're with him, that is true," Mitch replied, "Who gives you rosier thoughts Chris? Me or him? Who do you see yourself growing old with?"

Chris whimpered and looked down at the floor.

"I'm going to break Brutus's heart," Chris sighed, "He thought he won me from you."

"He did for a moment," Mitch replied, "I know that he seduced you the night we met. I smelt it on you the next day. That's why Fur high schools have so much drama, they start feeling like this, feeling people who are good matches. Suddenly, someone "better" comes along and causes drama."

"Why didn't that happen with Max then?" Chris asked, "He was such a nice Dog, and attractive too."

Mitch chuckled.

"There's a difference between a connection and an attraction," Mitch began, "A connection is far more powerful. That's what you and I have, and that's what you and Brutus have. The issue is, our connection is stronger, and you know that."

Chris sighed.

"I don't know what to do," Chris began, "Brutus said he was going to help me with this assault case. I don't want to hurt him when all he's done is been good to me."

Chris started to cry again.

"He's been so much better than I deserve." Chris sat back down on the couch.

Mitch whined and sat down on the couch beside the human. He hugged Chris tightly, his paws rubbing softly over Chris's back.

"You are just like a Fur Chris," Mitch began, "You attach, quickly, because you are able to see people for who they really are. You're still attached to me because you were able to see that I'm not always a fuck up."

Chris shook his head and sighed.

"Why did I have to attach to two Furs?" Chris asked, "Why does this have to hurt so much?"

Mitch sighed.

"This sort of thing happens," Mitch began, "Furs form connections, and often times, the partner that is the weakest connection is swapped out in favor of a stronger one."

Chris looked over at Mitch.

"I don't trust you Mitch," Chris sniffled, "How could I still have these feelings for you? I mean, you willfully hurt Brutus and I."

Mitch sighed.

"Because deep down you know I did it for you," Mitch began, "I can't tell you why these things happen like this. All I know is that they do. I know that you and I are meant to be. Deep down, you knew it too. Now, you really do."

Chris shook his head and got up from the couch.

"Can I go home now?" Chris asked, "I need to get back to my boyfriend."

Mitch sighed and nodded.

"I'll see you this weekend right?" Mitch asked.

Chris hesitated and nodded.

"Good," Mitch's tail started to wag, "Can I get a kiss before you go?"

Chris looked down and sniffled. He leaned in and planted a kiss on the Wolf's forehead. Mitch shook his head and pulled the human into another soft and tender kiss. Mitch supported the human as he swooned, and took his time kissing and caressing Chris. The human broke away, fresh tears in his eyes.

"I thought you hated me," Chris began, "I thought you never wanted to see a slut like me again."

Mitch shook his head.

"You aren't a slut," Mitch sighed, "This is to be expected. These are pretty powerful sensations for a human to deal with. After all, human/human relationships never have these sorts of feelings."

Chris sighed.

"Maybe I should date humans then," Chris began, "Then I won't be doing shit like this."

Mitch smiled.

"Go for it," Mitch replied, "Just so long as you date me first."

Chris sniffled and looked down at his feet.

"I'm going to go now," Chris began, "Can you text me tomorrow?"

Mitch beamed and nodded.

"I'd love to," Mitch replied, "You go home and get some sleep."

Chris nodded and wiped his eyes.

"It's going to be ok right?" Chris asked, "Things are going to work out the way they're supposed to right?"

Mitch sighed.

"I don't know," Mitch shook his head, "It feels weird to be doing this. I don't want to ruin what you and Brutus have, but I think you would be happier with me. I think Brutus would be happier if he went out and found someone new as well."

Chris sighed. There were dozens of things he wanted to ask the Wolf, but Chris had the feeling that if he asked, he would end up spending the night. Mitch picked up on this and stood up.

"Do you want to just spend the night?" Mitch asked, "We can talk all night if you want."

Chris hesitated and shook his head.

"I can't Mitch," Chris began, "God I shouldn't have even come here."

Mitch nodded.

"You'll thank yourself if you act on it Chris," Mitch said to Chris's retreating form, "The sooner you decide not to fight it, the happier everyone is going to be."

Chris stopped in Mitch's entryway for a brief moment and, after fighting the urge to turn around and kiss the wolf again, walked home.
