#9 of A Dream come True

A wet tongue licks over my face. Slow and warm. Hands caress me. Stroke over my scales light as a feather. "Hey beautiful." he greets me. I act as if I was still asleep, enjoying each moment of this.

"You are awake, I know that, silly." "Meany." Drake laughs. His hand runs along my cheeks down my neck, meaning he was back in his two-legged shape. But this made no difference. I love both forms, even though I have to say that I like his feral form a little bit more. Simply because there is more of him.

"Feeling good?" "Never felt better." "Wanna take a walk?" "Give me a second, okay? My head always needs some time to wake up." I yawn, stretch my limbs. "Thought you wanted to meet him?" "Meet him?" "Tyrel." "Ty... ah right." I jump up instantly. My head swirls a little, my legs feel weak. Right, I promised him to accompany him to the grave of his long deceased friend who led him here.

"Whoa, careful. No need to rush that fast. He won't run away, you know?" "Probably not." I'm not sure how to react. I don't want to make fun of his old friend, but on the other hand I want to cheer him up a bit. "It's in that direction, a bit deeper into he forest." His voice got a sad tune. I grab his hand, hold it tight. "Let's visit him." He nods with a smile on his muzzle, but he can't hide the sadness behind it.

He slowly marches forward into the direction he pointed to earlier. I can feel him shudder slightly. I bet he hasn't visited him for a long time and now feels sorry for leaving him alone for so long. And I can fully understand that. When I think back to Sally... my cat... I actually never visited her grave even once after I moved away from my mother. I always told myself I'd go there on her birthday... yet I never did.

We walk in silence through the woods. The forest becomes darker, the trees closer. A sudden light. A clearing in the middle of this thick woods. "Here we are." I look around. Wild grass and a very few flowers grow here, but nothing really looks like what I had expected. But then again, what do I know about dragons and their rituals? I just became one a few days ago.

Drake loosens the grip of his hand and rushes into the clearing, searching for something. "It is here, I know it. It must be here." "Drake, calm down. I know you are in panic right now but-" "No Chris. It must be here. I know it. It should be exactly- ouch" Dull noises, stones hitting each other. "Drake? Are you alright?" "Yeah, just hit my foot at those sto...nes... SHIT!" "Drake?" "I walked right into his grave. Tyrel, I am sorry, I did not want that."

I haven't seen him in such a panic before. I rush towards him, paying attention not to run into anything that might be a grave. Then I see it. A pile of stones, covered in moss and grass. "Drake, calm down, we will rebuild it together. He won't be mad at you, I promise." "Are you sure?" Drake had completely changed. "You are his best friend. And you did it just by accident. I assure you he won't be mad if we bring it back to the old glory." "You think so?" "Of course. And now get back to normal Drake. I almost don't recognize you. And that scares me."

He sobs, kneels down onto the ground and picks up one of the stones, peels the moss off. I kneel down next to him and help cleaning the stones. About ten minutes later we finish cleaning the stones and piling them up nicely.

"I might have liked him, too, you know?" "Chris? What do you mean?" "I just saw all of your memories about him. You had loads of fun together." "Yeah. It was a lot of fun." "He doesn't want you to cry." "Why do you think that?" "No one wants his friends to cry. He doesn't... and neither do I." Drake closes his eyes and breathes deep and slow. He's talking to his friend... I can't hear it. I just feel it.

He helped me before... now it is my time to help him.

Hi... my name is Chris... we haven't met before.

I'm Drake's friend... well... more than just friend... I'm his soulmate it seems. ...No... I AM his soulmate. He just told me about you, and your adventures. Well... I'm not much of a talker... Drake really is sorry for what happened with your grave, and I promise you it was just an accident. Please accept his apologies. He really was just nervous after not visiting you for such a long time.

"Chris?"

Sorry... gotta go... my love calls me. Will try to make him visit you more often. See ya.

"Chris?" "Sorry, just had a small talk with him." "Thanks Chris." "What for?" "For being with me." "Drake?" "I stopped visiting him a few years ago... when I got to know that my soulmate was a lost soul. In my search for you, I totally forgot about him." "Don't mention it. You changed my life to something better. If someone has to say thanks, it's me." "Let's go back home. Okay?"

"Why don't we stay the rest of the day and fly back in the evening? I really like this place. It's so... peaceful... so natural..." "We don't have any food with us." "Oh come on, we won't starve in the next hours... right?" "No, of course not." "See? So why hurry back if we can still enjoy this place?" "What do you want to do?" "I don't know... relaxing... maybe a bit cuddling..." "You still want more?" "Hey, I said cuddling. You can cuddle without it ending in sex, you know?" "I can... but can you?" he smiles lusty. "I can, too... but do you want to?" I grin at him. "Aahh... maybe?" He rolls his eyes, obviously telling me he doesn't exactly want to. "No really... I'm still a bit sore from all the fun." I act as voice of reason.

Hand in hand we walk back to the lake. The sun still shines bright. It's around early afternoon... maybe 3PM... a bit later maybe. The best time to lie down at the beach and just do nothing.

I sit down first, not too far from the water. The sun burns warm on my dark blue scales. It feels good. I turn around and lie down on my belly, unfolding my wings a bit. Just closing my eyes a little bit... "Hey... Chris...?" Drakes voice comes from right in front of me, so I open my eyes again. He lies on his belly, face-to-face with me. He's smiling bright. "What is it?" I laugh.

"I love you." Well... I knew that already... but still... hearing it from him... makes my heart race. "And you are everything to me, Drake. I will always love you too." Tears form in his eyes, sniffling noises... He's so happy, it makes him cry. I like this soft side on him. Dragons are feral monsters? Maybe... but they are also very passionate lovers.

"Say..." "Hm?" I was curious what he wanted to know next. "Are you happy? Are you happy with your new life?" "The first few moments... were hard... I basically died... You can't digest such a thing that easy. But you were there for me, even called friends to help me... even let me choose to stay or to leave after searching so long for me. There is not a single second I regretted my choice. Quite the opposite. It has been such a long time I felt so alive before." I close my eyes again to enjoy the sun to its full extend.

"And then... it still feels like this is just a dream. I have been dreaming of dragons for so long... then I discovered that I wasn't only into humans. I always loved my pets more than any humans... because they never lied to me... and some years later... I discovered... and accepted that I have no interest in females... And I found this site... read stories about dogs and horses and dolphins... wolves... lions... and then... finally... dragons.

I couldn't tell why they felt so special to me. Stories about dragons always fascinated me, although they were usually pointed out as evil, man-slaughtering beasts. Everyone said that never really existed... or if they existed, they went extinct long time ago.

And now? Now I lie on the beach of a magical island... have the body of a dragon... and am talking to another dragon, with beautiful eyes... a sexy body... and the courage to talk open about emotions. And he doesn't mind listening to my cheesy talk. No... he rewards me with a genuine smile instead." "...and sex." I laugh loud. He says it out loud as if it was nothing special... well... it actually isn't anything to be ashamed of... just a remnant of my former life.

"Back then... when I was still human... on the site where I made my story public... Someone asked if people want their pets to be their friends, if they love them, or if they are just fuck-buddies to them..." "And...?" "I can only repeat what I answered back then. Friendship... complete trust... is the cake. Love is the sweet icing on the cake. Not that great on it's own, but it makes the cake even more delicious. And sex... sex is... colored sprinkles. You can have them on their own, but you'll get sick of them quickly. And without icing, they easily fall off the cake." "Interesting comparison... actually making me hungry..."

"How do you think about it?" I ask him. "Hmmm... I was always told that one day I will find my soulmate... that he will be the one I love... and that... well... that I will have sex with him... sorry..." "What are you sorry for? That's the way it usually works here, isn't it?" "Sure... but... Now that I have met you... it feels so wrong..." "Don't worry about it. You were educated that way... and now you know it better. You should be proud of what you gained." "Oh, I definitely am, no doubt. I just don't like that I was simply expecting it to happen. I know I put a lot of pressure onto you..." "Hehe... pressure is the perfect word for it." I smile devilish, not even sure if his eyes are open.

"I always envied Az when he found Mike... He was so happy... but still cared for me... his lonely friend whose partner is hiding somewhere out there. He still helped me find you..." "No one said that you have to abandon all of your friends as soon as you find your soulmate, right?" "Of course not... but I was scared that Az might be too busy being with Mike... that he might forget me..." "We should pay them a visit so you can tell him." "He already knows... I told him just before you woke up in your new body... that's why I wasn't there when you got up." "How did he react?" "He hugged me... said that's what friends are for... and told me to hurry back to you, as you might wake up every moment now..." "And then I was already awake... mustering my new body in a mirror..." "...wondering why you looked like the character of your story... yeah..." I felt his soft touch on my cheek, gentle strokes along my muzzle.

"I still think back to the moment we met... I like to remember it. You came around the corner and looked at me in awe... your were fascinated, but also scared of me..." "I just met a species I was told it wouldn't exist... what did you expect?" "But you came closer... petted me... huddled yourself against my leg... Heck, you even tried to protect me when those hunters came. What were you thinking back then?" "Oh... various things... it went from 'holy fuck, a dragon' over to 'shit, he is going to eat me'... then I thought that you were cute. Then I was scared they'd hurt you... or even kill you." "You were concerned about me even before you knew me... That's why I know that you are my soulmate."

"Drake?" "Yeah?" "I love you." "And I love you."

We spent hours just lying there, caressing each other with gently stroking, until the sun started to set.

"Chris?" "Yeah, it's time to head back home." I get up slowly, open my eyes again. There he is, stretching his muscular arms and legs, his semi-transparent wings, flexing his sexy tail. My red beauty. I brush off some grains of sand from my belly, then start stretching myself, carefully warming up my wings, preparing for the imminent flight.

"Are you ready?" I yawn loud, then shake my body. "Yup. Let's go." We walk to where we landed, near the edge of the island. "You remember the way back?" he suddenly asks me. "Should be... er... that way?" I point into the direction I think we came from. "A bit more to the right..." he grabs my arm and points it a bit further to the right, and a bit lower. "...like... this." "You are not going to let me fly alone, are you?" "Of course not. Just wanted to see how good your sense of orientation works." "It doesn't work at all." I laugh. My sense of orientation was so bad, I could run in circles with a map in my hands and wouldn't notice it. "Nah, It was actually quite good. You missed our home by just a hundred meters I guess. But we'll have to fly to the platform anyway." "Why don't we fly there directly?" "The flight would be longer... and also laws prohibit landing and taking off outside of platforms." "Didn't you land right on the street when you brought me there first?" "I made an exception." "And what if someone had seen you?" "The people in my street are okay. They knew that I finally found you, knew I had been searching you for so long, so they didn't care about it. They were happy for me." He smiles.

"Ready to start?" I flap my wings until I feel the weight on my feet getting lighter. Drake takes it as a sign for 'yes' and lifts off like a rocket. Will take me a while till I can fly like him. But that's okay. He has years of practice and knows every single muscle in his body. I lift off, too, and follow him in a slight curve, slowly gaining height until I am at his side.

"Sorry Chris. Forgot you are a beginner when it comes to flying." "I have a great teacher... I'll be able to fly like you in no-time." "Must be an awesome guy. You are not making out with him, are you?" "Sometimes... Actually I just spent a night on his little secret island." "You fucked him good?" I 'blush' a little, meaning I feel my head filling with boiling blood. "I wouldn't call it that way... but yeah, we had some... 'fun' already." "And how well did he?" "If I had to describe it in one word... hmmm... delicious." We start to laugh simultaneously.

"No, but seriously... was it fun for you?" "Drake... You put so much effort into it, showing me how much I mean to you. And you showed me a lot of your character. What more could I ask for? When you wanted me to come here, I had no expectations... only a few assumptions... most of it happened." "Only most of it?" he asks me interested. "We still have a lot of time for those other things." "Oh come on... Tell me!" "Nosy little dragon. Don't worry. You did your part perfect. I couldn't have wished for more." "Little? I'm almost one inch taller than you." "Ah yeah? But I'm quite sure I'm longer than you!" "What? Oh...OH, you want to compare 'them'." "Maybe." "Just wait till we are home. You'll see." "Yes, I will." It is so much fun. He has the same sense of humor I have, is as perverted as I am... If I wouldn't already know it, I'd say I'm in love with him.

A light in the distance, illuminating the platform below it. This time we took just half the time for the flight. I guess it's a sign for my quick adaption to my body. A few minutes later we walk through the door into our home and drop down on the couch.

"Want something to eat?" he asks while immediately jumping up again. "Drake, why don't you get some rest first? "But you might be hungry." "Drake, I'm not a small baby. If I was about to starve, I'd go and find something. Right now, I just want you right next to me." "But if you need something-" "I will ask you where I can find it. Just cause I'm basically only a few days old doesn't make me a hatchling. You don't need to mother me." "Okay, my big boy... speaking of which..." "Drake, it was just a joke. I don't care who has the bigger one, or the better technique, ... or the tastier spunk..." "Huh, what are you talking about?" "You were not talking about size comparison?" "Oh, you meant that serious?" "What? No. But you were... okay... doesn't matter. What did you want to talk about?" "I thought about going to bed, and wanted to ask my big boy if he wants to join me." "A bit later... sorry. But..." How should I explain that I kind of hoped for my friends and family asking me what happened. That I wanted to check if they sent me any messages.

"Your friends and family? Don't worry, I can understand that. You said you'd break up the contact... but you can't just forget about them. That's natural. You spent your whole life with them, you care for them." Again he had read my mind. But I was grateful for it this time. "Thanks Drake."

"Don't mention it. And I know I don't have to tell you, but... no words about dragons or the upper world. You can understand why, right?" "If mankind knew, there'd be war again. Don't worry... They wouldn't believe me anyway so I better think of a better excuse." "Night, Chris. And don't take too long."
