Chapter 11

Waiting impatiently for something good to happen, Rhynsa wanted to walk out of the room so he could find a local food vendor, but Karkos knew his intention of walking out of a meeting, and said, "(And where do you think you're going, Black Dog?)"

Rhynsa turned, clearly annoyed by someone calling his other name in mocking fashion just like his enemies. He cocked his rifle in a threat, knowing that it was a blank he loaded, yet Anarim blew it off by saying "(Rhynsa, your weapon is harmless. Just calm down, my young friend, this meeting is not over yet)."

"(My king, I think it's best if you could just, uh...dismiss from our meeting. It's more of a private talk)."

"(Well, if you say so, my former weaponmaster. There are three generals here, so I guess it's military stuff)."

As Anarim left the place and closed the door, Rhynsa and Anenka nodded to each other and locked the door, closed the window and relying on the illumination of the lamp for them. With a sigh, Anenka said, "(It's better not for him to know about his son)."

"(Sadly, yes...it's unfortunate. The old devils are really stirring from their sleeps for the past decades and their millennia-old plan of world domination concerns me. Azgal's presence is a proof that this is a desperate measure from the circle. Stirring up prophecies and fates...fucking loomers...)"

"(Don't we have reliable allies now? They are all strong and influential hellhounds, right? I mean, we have an Ulshurfak in our midst...)"

"(That list has nothing to do with our war preparation, Rhynsa)," said Karkos rubbing his head. "(The fucking devils put many curses upon all of us that changed our fates. Look at my eyes, Rhynsa. I'm sure those bat eyes of yours can see something's wrong)."

Rhynsa moved closer and gasped upon seeing the vision upon his eyes. While it looked normal from afar, Karkos' eyes had a different colorization, like a dichromatic person. One had a normal red hellhound eye, but the other eye had a redder colorization with golden color coming out from the slit pupil that was more of a reptile's slit that their own slit pupil. Aside from that, because of the eye's size, the black sclera of a hellhound wasn't entirely seen.

"(This is not a goddamn hellhound eye! What kind of demon put a mismatched eye in there?)"

"(It's a hell dragon's eye, Rhynsa. The eye enabled me to see the future, but not immediate future. That way, I can see gray events that might or might not be occurring, depending on what we're doing right now)."

"(How does a hell dragon can do that? I know they're smart bastards, but to the point of seeing the future? Goddamn it, I can go nuts because of thinking of their hidden potentials)."

"(The devils are planning to dominate this world after killing of a third of human and other surface creature's lives. The first thing they need to do, though, is to root out the supporters of the late monarchs in their first move to start liberation down in the hell. Next, they will conduct a massacre before laying waste on this continent. Then, they will continue on to the nearest continent possible with considerable surface dragon population. With the forces of hell itself descending on them, they will have no chance to fight back. That's why, we need to start finding allies if we want to help this world and ourselves)."

"(Karkos, this is bullshit, man)," said Anenka. "(The devils are forbidden to directly invade the surface. They might get holy interventions)."

"(How about if I say there's a giant portal in a process of completion on a place in this continent?)"

This news struck both former generals directly that they glanced at Karkos quickly. They stood up, surprised by the revelation, which was confirmed merely by the hellhound's nod.

"(You fucking piece of shit, what are you doing holding that secret from Anarim?! This is a crucial info, you dog shit!)" exclaimed Rhynsa while shaking Karkos violently. "(Where's the portal, Karkos? Where the fuck is it?!)"

"(Stop shaking me up, you bat-ears! Those are merely future images. We can't verify the truth right now. It's just my eye!)"

"(Then can you verify this?!)"

Rhynsa quickly pointed his rifle to a seemingly random position and cocked it, which prompted Karkos to panic. Rhynsa didn't seem to care, but he suddenly grabbed something from inside the veil and yanked it out to plain view, where the figure quickly became panicked and tried to find a gun, only to realize that it was snatched out from the hellhound's hand.

"(Hey, girl, I appreciate you preparing up before eavesdropping, but this is a grown up talk and you shouldn't be in it)."

"(What?! I'm a goddamn grown-up female hound, you old bat-winged son of a bitch. Who do you think you are, talking around like a bitch?)"

"(I'm Rhynsa Vantwork, former special operations division of the Schelkz Monarch Military and you should pay a goddamn respect or I'll blow your head off!)" "(I don't give a shit about that!)"

"(Okay, you don't give a shit, then? Tell me, does this gun looks like a bitch)?"

"(What?)" "(Does your fucking old model revolver looks like a bitch, Mizarka Agedal? If so, then don't get out until this meeting's over, got it?)"

Miza nodded in annoyance. She never thought Rhynsa, a vigilante who was fond of being said as a pacifist who didn't kill, was a jerk and a very dangerous bat-hound, which didn't bother Rhynsa at all.

"(I can't tell this in front of Anarim himself. He won't bear to hear that his family is at it again. The vision I saw in my eye is of a hellhound who was clearly possessed by a force greater than him. The problem is, he has reddish fur and yellow eyes, which...sadly is...)"

"(Ensalder, right?)" said Anenka with a gulp. "(This is your reason, Karkos? Ensalder will lay waste upon the surface of this earth and bring about the age of darkness?)"

"(King Ensalder is in the vision. There's no doubt about it. I'm sorry, Anenka...I'm so sorry that this must happen between you two, but everything he did for the past years...)"

"(Stop, Karkos...that is enough)," said Anenka with another gulp, somehow trying to hold a vomit. "(I...I need some space)."

"(Hey, Anenka, this is not the time to puke just because this is a revelation of a lifetime)," said Rhynsa slowly. "(Yes, I know you're mad at this, but, is that something you do when a friend becomes an enemy? You look pathetic)."

"(Can't you all feel it? There's something in the air. I'm...on holding very well to strong demonic aura. I need to drop my glasses...)"

Anenka put off his glasses, but he quickly gasped, which troubled the rest of the hellhounds since Anenka never got surprised by something in front of his thermal vision eyes (he never could see anything at all). He was panting hard and needed Miza to prop him up. The next moment, there was a loud banging sound from the door. The urgency of the knock give Karkos a reflex. Opening the door, he found that Anarim, also panting hard, was barely even able to stand.

"(This is bad. This is fucking bad news to all of us)."

"(Whoa...that's out of your way of talking, my king...)"

"(I am once young, Rhynsa my boy. I can't stand right. Anenka felt that too, right? There's a stir to the atmosphere. What is that demon doing to that cub?)"

"(What's actually happening here that any other hellhounds can't feel, Anarim? This is starting to confuse me more than it made me understand)."

"(That wrath demon, Azgal. He's unleashing his true form on this world, and it emits a strong demonic aura from his own circle. Being in the eye of the storm can possibly save a wrath demon's descendants, but...with temperature rising like this, in this tree city...)"

"(Shit...that demon's going to kill us all!)"
