San Diego, California. 1962.

Joshua walked out of the building and said his goodbyes to Maria. "Damn she's hot..." He thought silently to himself. He walked over to his truck, a '62 Ford. He was headed to a Marine recruiters office that he had been talking to, and it was time to seal the deal. The recruiter had approached him a year ago and addressed him personally, almost like he knew him, when Josh asked the recruiter, he changed the subject to recruitment papers (to be expected). Josh lived currently with his adoptive mother, she had adopted him at two months, when she was in the Army. Josh had never known his actual mother, but he had an odd feeling that she wasnt like himself or his adoptive one. He pulled his truck into the stall of the recruiters parking lot. Walking along the sidewalk he arrived at the door and reassured himself that this was what he wanted to do. He pushed open the door and the refreshingly cool air poured out into the hot June day.

"Josh" the recruiter yelled "Good to see ya buddy!" "Yeah, good to see you too Clarence." Joshua replied.

"So how's the Wolfman?" Clarence asked.

"I'm doing all right, How about you?"

"I ain't got a new recruit in weeks, after Korea they just started dropping."

"Yeah, I'm finally graduated, so Lets get me signed up!" Josh said.

"Gotcha," Clarence replied as he reached into an old oak desk and grabbed some paperwork.

"Just fill these out... and you're all ready to go."

2 months later. Treasure Island Naval Base, California. 1962.

Joshua had just finished boot camp when he had been transfered to Treasure Island. This was his last stop before 'Nam. One last gear check, then a boat ride he thought. Josh layed down in his bunk and checked his A1. Spotless, as usual he smirked. He looked around for anyone watching him, and pulled out an officer model Colt 1911 pistol. He cleaned the pistol too. It was an old relic his mother had given him, his adoptive father (or would have been) sent this pistol to her shortly before he died in the Bulge. When he had told her he was going to sign up, she had given it to Josh. "This .45 slug will stop anything" she had said. Lets put that to the test he thought. "ROLL CALL!" His Sargeant yelled as he strode into the room. They all shouted out their names as he checked a piece of paper.

"Good, good. I'm Sargeant Smith, but your all gonna call me Sarge. If I hear different, so help me I'll knock you cold."

"OK Smitty." a fur in the back yelled and started cracking up. Sarge walked up to him and hit him with a right hook, dropping him like a lead weight. When he didn't move, Sarge picked him up and threw him onto his bunk. He walked back to the front of the room.

"Learn from him, and dont call me Smitty." Sarge said before leaving.

"Damn, What a hardass... He pissin' me off already!" a soldier in the bunk above him whispered.

"Yeah, don't let him get to your head, he's just doing his job."

"And whats that? Killin' us all 'fore the Vietcong get us?"

"No, keeping us in line." Josh said before he went to sleep

Saigon, South Vietnam. 1 month later. 1962.

Joshua shivered and clung to his M16 as the swiftboat travelled upriver. The gunner next to him had warned Josh to bring a jacket, but no, he had to wear his shirt. He had thought that Vietnam would have been warmer, and it would have been, had his unit not arrived during Monsoon season. A rattle in the bushes caught Josh's attention. He tapped the gunners shoulder and pointed to where the rustling was coming from. The gunner swung the Browning .50 in that direction and stayed there. More rustling was up ahead. "AMBUSH!" the boats pilot yelled as several Vietcong ran onto the banks of the river and began firing with AK-47's. Joshua ducked and cowered behind the bridge of the swiftboat. He looked past and saw the gunner on the .50 get hit

"Fuck, Hernandez, get on that gun!"The pilot yelled. Joshua stayed where he was.

"Get on that goddamn gun Hernandez!" With that Josh dropped his M16 and ran to the .50 cal. he made sure that the ammunition belt was still feeding and charged it anyway to make sure. He took aim at the nearest Vietcong and yelled "DIE YOU FUCKING COMMIE" as he pressed down on the machine guns butterfly trigger. the roar of the Browning was deafening, he could feel the gun shaking on its mounts as the Vietcong were ripped to pieces by the .50 caliber bullets flying out of the barrel at Mach 1. With each Vietcong he killed three more ran out of the forest.

"Get us the fuck out of here!" He yelled over the gun. The Pilot gunned the boats engine and Joshua swiveled the gun on its mounts and fired back at the Vietcong. once they were out of sight, Joshua collapsed.

Saigon Field Hospital, 2 hours later. Joshua awoke with no idea where he was. He was in a hospital of some sort, a field hospital by the looks of it. He looked around some more and saw bodybags on either side of him, and a nurse putting ID tags on peoples toes. He bolted upright, and noticed he was naked. one of the nurses, a Vixen, Gasped when he got up.

"B b but your supposed to be KIA" she studdered.

"B b but I'm alive" Joshua retorted.

Another nurse, this time a stunningly beautiful wolf, turned around to see what in the hell was going on. her face was at first a look of shock, then giggling as she noticed him staring at her tits. she wiggled them around a bit then giggled some more at the rather explicit, but natural, reaction. Joshua snapped out of his euphoria and looked around then covered himself.

"Wheres the guys who were on that Swiftboat with me?" Joshua asked.

The nurses face got serious fast, and she snapped back to reality. she looked at a pair of bodybags.

"I'm so sorry..."
