This is my comeback...Pitiful, isn't it?

The reason why this is short because I'm planning something big for this story and I need the next chappy for it to be represented!

So, let's delve into the chappy where Kuri finally becomes useful to the team!

Enjoy!

Chapter 9: Kuri's Chance At Greatness

The Hall Of Origins...

"Welcome back Guardians!" Arceus called as they came in.

"Good to be...back..." Seje said weakly, still hurting from the explosion they narrowly escaped from.

"Hoo...ray..." Kora added in the same tone.

"Okay, what's wrong?" Celebi asked them.

"When you nearly get caught in an explosion and fall from a height most normal humans cannot survive...how ELSE are you supposed to feel?" Seje explained.

"I guess like shit." Yveltal commented, getting some appalled stares and agreeing nods.

"So, what happened?" Arceus asked.

"We...had a little run-in with some bandits...got kidnapped...and got interrogated by Crasher Wake..." Chriss said, panting heavily.

"Crasher Wake? I thought he was dead..." Manaphy commented.

"He is most definitely dead, thanks to me." Seje said, catching everyone's attention.

"How?" Cobalion asked, wondering if his pupil did the deed outta cold-heartedness.

"Well, I'll tell ya..." Seje responded, sitting down...

Flashback...

Seje and Kora were wondering where the thumping was coming from, Seje turning back into his normal form to help. The shockwaves seemed to emanate from the far door, where two doors were slowly but surely caving in from a source.

"What's going on Seje-kun?" Kora asked as the thumping grew louder.

"I don't know but what I do know is it better not be a Pokemon or so help me I'm gonna kil Wa-!" But Seje was cut off as the door they were watching busted inwards, being sent to their feet and a power-suit entered from its previous location.

"I don't think you're gonna be killing anyone Sinareman..." a voice said from inside the suit, sounding like...

"Crasher Wake..." Seje said with venom, looking dead at the glass that kept the former Gym Leader from environmental contact and gases.

"Crasher Wake? As in, 'Pronounced dead Crasher Wake'?" Kora asked Seje.

"The one and only...Although, he's about to be confirmed of those rumors." Seje responded, going into his 'Y' form.

"You really think you're capable of killing me Sinareman?" Wake said mockingly, making Kora realize something and look at Seje in surprise.

"Your name is Sinareman?" she questioned, making Seje turn to her.

"Yes it is..."Seje replied, not wanting to dwell on the subject.

"So that was you that killed Lysandre's son in a fight all those years ago?" she pursued, making Seje tense up from the memory.

"Another time Kora; we have to get outta here." he said, posting his 'guns' out.

"You're not leaving here alive Sinareman...[Chuckles darkly] Not while I still have your friends in my custody..." Wake smugly said, prepping his suit.

"They won't be for long...Kora, go find the others; I got the former Gym Bitch." Seje ordered, Kora responding by running through the doorway Wake came out of.

"She won't make it...And neither will you..." Crasher sneered, charging up a Mega Punch. Seje stood there, waiting for him to move.

"Heh. Too scared to move? They always are..." Wake said, finishing his charging session.

"I'm just waiting for you to shut the fuck up and come at me bro." Seje replied, flicking Wake off.

"That's it!" Wake cried in sudden anger, speeding forward at frightening speeds.

I was listening to 'Borderlands The Pre-Sequel OST-Eridian Traps' when I wrote this next part.

Seje waited for the appropriate time, the Pastoria's old Gym Leader coming in close. Then, as he neared punching range, Seje immediately launched his own to countered, stopping the punch altogether.

"What?! How the hell?!" Wake cried, disbelief marked on his face as he struggled to gain dominance over Seje.

"Simple. You are an idiot for thinking a simple Mega Punch could do me in." Seje told the former Gym Leader.

"How dare you?..." Wake growled, a vein popping outta his head in his struggle of will and whim.

"I dare with ferocity." And with that note, Seje side-stepped and drew his raised fist back, making the power-suit wielding Wake stumble forward...

Right into Seje's drawn fist.

The Leader of the Guardians punched forward, hitting the chamber of the suit, shutting down its primary weapon systems.

"What?! Ho-?" But Crasher couldn't finish as Seje punched him away with a force that could break necks on contact. He was sent flying through machinery, breaking and damaging them beyond repair before finally impacting with the wall.

"You little shit..." Wake seethed, getting up from his position on the ground.

"Hey, I'm not little and I denifinitely DON'T look like someone's fecal matter." Seje responded, posting up again.

Wake didn't not verbally respond; rather, he got up and charged at Seje again. The Leader just shook his head and readied for another counter.

But Wake stopped-literally stopped- mid-charge, and stood there smirking. This had confused Seje, making him drop his guard...

For the next few moments, anyway.

A whirring had started up, resonating from a source Seje couldn't find anywhere near him. He looked all around before looking at the Mother Computer, his back turned to Wake as he looked at the computer, which had sprung to life somehow and was digistructing something next to it...

Seje's eyes widened as he looked at the final boss of Borderlands the Pre-Sequel materialize from the computer in all of his Guardian glory.

"Hahahahehehehehahahah..." the animated Guardian of the once animated Vault laughed creepily, looking at Seje and Wake with his multiple faces.

"What the hell?" Seje said, looking between Crasher Wake and the Sentinel.

"You really thought Team Neo would just ignore where you got some of your forms from?" Wake told Seje.

"I didn't think Team Neo was smart enough to do something like this..." Seje replied, backing away from the Sentinel. Said Guardian was readying his staff...

"You really belittle Team Neo and proof of our advances is right here in front of you?" Wake questioned critically.

"I belittle Team Neo even with your...proof because your proof is dangerous on his own..." Seje said, now further away from the Sentinel than Wake was.

"Whatever do you mean? He's under my control; he wouldn't hurt a fly without my say." Wake told him, not looking at the Sentinel in question who was staring intently at him from his words.

"You really think so?" Seje said, pointing at the Guardian.

"What're yo-?" But Wake had decided to look where he pointed...

And was run through by the Sentinel's staff.

The Sentinel had grown tired of standing around and decided to do what he did best- do harm to those who he thinks is after the Vault.

So he attacked the closest thing to him-Wake.

The staff was lodged through the suit, penetrating the glass that protected Wake from the outside world and the power core that helps the suit function. Wake's chest had been pierced like butter by the staff, puncturing his lungs from the staff blade's width.

Wake gurgled on blood before saying, "Why?..." He died moments later.

The Sentinel pulled his staff out and cleaned it off before looking at Seje. Said person readied for a fight but the Sentinel just stood there watching.

"Well? You gonna kill me too?" Seje asked the immobile Sentinel before getting a response...

In the from of the Sentinel teleporting into his face.

Seje, not ready for it, raised his gauntlets in defense for an attack, but the Sentinel caught his arms before they could cover his face. He closed his eyes, fearing that this was the end of Sinareman Ashford...

He waited...

And waited...

And waited some more.

When he grew concerned as to why he wasn't a human on a stick, Seje opened his eyes again...

And nearly jumped when he saw that the Sentinel was in his face.

They stared at each other for what felt like hours to Seje. Then, the Sentinel raised a hand, making Seje close his eyes again and flinch. The hand, however, wasn't hostile as the Sentinel used it to wipe off the tears that had trailed on his face, making Seje look up in confusion.

"What?" he asked the Guardian of the animated Vault, perplexed at his caring behavior. The Sentinel grabbed Seje's head, pulling him forward and he whispered something in Seje's ear in clear English.

Not garbled speech, not laughter, not even an ancient alien language. Articulate English.

"I will be back...for you..." And the Sentinel was gone with those words. Seje sat there stunned before the bomb he had installed in the main systems of the Base had started to beep, signifying that it was nearly time for the light show.

"OH SHIT!" Seje cried, before going into his 'A-6' form- Ada Wong from RE4- and shooting outta the labs...

Flashback End...

"...And that...is why...I ran out..." Seje finished, panting from the memory and his own fatigue of using so many forms in one day.

"So it seems we have a new neutral party on our hands." Arceus said after thinking about Seje's tale.

"So it seems..." Sin said.

"Now what?" Chris asked, cutting in to the tense atmosphere created.

"Who is that?" Mew asked, pointing at Kuri, making everyone look at her now.

"I'm...Kora's older sister..." Kuri said, hiding behind Seje for protection.

"Sister? You never told us about a sister Kora." Shaymin said to the Medic, who didn't respond immediately.

"...Because I thought she was dead already..." Kora told the Gratitude Pokemon, making her look at her pupil in shock.

"Really?..." Shaymin asked, worried that Kora may be too sad for direct talk about something new they were to cover...

"Don't worry; I already have her back!" Kora said in cheerfulness, or at least that's what it sounded like.

"If you say so..." Shaymin said.

"Okay, well done overall. You managed to take out a Base on your own, you two." Arceus said, talking to Seje and Kora.

"It was all in a day's work!" Seje cried, Kora joining in tandem.

"Yeah! :D"

"Well, go rest up, Guardians. We have much to do." Arceus told them, making them look at Kuri.

"Well?" Kora asked Kuri, who was standing there nervous in Arceus' gaze.

"What's going on?" the Alpha Pokemon questioned.

"Kuri has something she wishes to ask of you." Sin told her, nudging Kuri to get it over with.

"Oh come on. She won't say 'yes'." Kuri whispered to them.

"What would I deny to make me say 'no' Kuri?" Arceus rebutted, butting in their conversation by leaning in from the rear.

"[Sigh] I wanna be a Guardian..." Kuri said, no one hearing her correctly.

"What was that?" the Alpha POkemon goddess inquired.

"I SAID I WANNA BE A GUARDIAN!" Kuri yelled, catching the Council off-guard.

"Really now?" Arceus asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes. I don't want to leave my younger sister by herself and...other reasons..." she said that last part while looking away from Seje.

"If this is to be, then what are you to be?" Arceus asked her.

"[Hums in thought]...I always wanted to know what it's like to be Psychic. I always looked up to Sabrina and Annabel before they were killed..." Kuri told them, looking down in sadness at the thought of the loss of said Psychics.

"Psychic powers are not to be taken lightly, young one." Arceus told her, thus confirming her status.

"Okay." Kuri simply replied, head up and chin pointed.

"I like your attitude. Now hold still..." The Alpha Pokemon glowed a bright pink before one of her plates materialized in front of her.

"Here we go..." The plate began to shrink down, becoming the size of a pendant gem before a chain wrapped around the plate and floated to Kuri.

"There is your Psy-Pendant. This will allow you to perform abilities that Psychics normally can't do. Use it caringly as overusage may cause damage to your brain cells..." Arceus told Kuri.

"Don't worry", Kuri started, grabbing the pendant before wrapping the chain around her neck, "I will never risk it." And with that, she clasped the chain in place before being surrounded in an egg of blue energy, which was very bright.

When the light show died down, Kuri looked different.

She was clad in a dark purple dress that ended above her knees with frills. The pendant had become a series of marking around where it should be and her arms were covered in said markings. Her hair went from its original coloring to being black with purple highlights, also growing from shoulder length to knee-length.

Kuri looked herself over before saying, "Of this is what it feels like with you guys, then I can't wait to get shit done." with determination.

"Just what I like to hear." Arceus said encouragingly.

"Awesome Kuri! You're a Guardian now!" Kora said.

"Yeah...Can't wait to start going on missions with you guys..." she responded, looking more at Seje than anyone else.

"But not now; you'll have to wait for tomorrow to come." Arceus told them, making Kuri deflate.

"Oh fine..." And with that, they were off to the Infirmary and then to bed...

The Next Day...

Kora awoke to yelling in the hallway she was in. She perked her ears to eavesdrop.

"...I said 'No'! Don't go in there!" Seje yelled at someone, who made themselves obvious.

"I don't care! She needs to know!" The voice of Celebi-sama cried out, making Kora curious about what was going on. The door began to be banged on, making Kora jump in surprise.

"Don't go i-!" But Seje was cut off by being blasted through the door by a MoonBlast from Celebi-sama.

"What's going on?" Kora asked, the Medic on high-alert.

But she wasn't ready for this part.

"Celebi is trying to say you can't go on missions with us anymore, saying 'it's for your own good'!" Seje yelled, glaring daggers at the Time Travel Pokemon.

"It's for the best that she don't go with you guys anymore! She needs more training and she's a walking target on her own!" Celebi yelled back, not realizing that her words hurt more than helped.

"Now Kora, before I was rudely interrupted, do you-?" But Celebi stopped once she saw Kora's face, which was just easily readable as the saddest face to ever exist.

"Kora?" Celebi asked, reaching out to her pupil...

Before said pupil slapped her hand away and ran out the room.

"I told yo' ass not to do it!" Seje cried before running off after her, leaving Celebi to think.

"But I'm doing it to protect her..." Celebi deadpanned before Chris came in the room for a secco.

"Why would you do that?!" he yelled before running in the direction Seje and Kora went, making Celebi feel horrible about herself...
