Sorry for the crappy format. Did it in another program that's not Word. It messes up the paragraphs when pasting it here.

** CHAPTER 2**

The D.E1 team, still fully suited, walked through a dark corridor of special complex within the Hangar sector. This was a never used complex, and one that just thinking on ever putting it to use made them really nervous.

Retcans had thought of everything when reconstructing Canis Major, and they knew that a situation like this might someday happen. So they build a special facility made exclusively to keep custody of any foreign alien life form that for whatever reason needed to be granted access to the Evo's space colony.

"I need the Hangar Sector and the access to Sector Z sealed completely until I advise the contrary. Red alert is lifted by order of D.E1 Captain K9." Kalem advised the inner security team. "However, I want the general caution alert active and everyone to stay in their Sectors until I say so. And do not worry; we have this taken care of."

"Understood, K9." The voice of another Evo echoed through Kalem's earpiece.

Surrounded by the D.E1 Team, the small creature barely taller than Laser walked. It still had its helmet on, and attempts of communicating with it had failed due to interference. None had seen each other's faces yet.

The complex was a bit intimidating. It was very dark, and silent. The idea was to keep the real Canis Major away from the 'intruder's' eyes. Evos had also been trained to act cold and as emotionless as possible in this situation so they would not show any signs of weakness.

The D.E1 team however had taken a different approach with this creature. They had put away their weapons in a sign of trust towards this creature. They were pleased that the creature hadn't shown any sign of aggression and seemed to be responding to the good intentions of the Evos; however, they still had to be cautious.

After going through various decontamination chambers, they finally reached an area where a large room was only surrounded by glass walls.

"Okay," Husky spoke. He still insisted on being the one who would communicate with the creature. It was his job now to keep in contact with it and to keep that trust going on. "If you can understand me, please step into that room. Understand that we still don't know about your origins, and we need to keep you in quarantine for a while until we figure out what to do."

Amazingly, the creature nodded and walked inside the room. The creature still felt defensive, walking backwards into the room, never taking his sight from his hosts.

With a command from a panel, the door of the quarantine room was sealed. The Evos could now feel at ease knowing that at least they had control over the situation. But now came the hardest part. They needed to perform tests on this creature, to make sure he wasn't a threat to them.

"Good. I know you can hear me. If you can, please nod at me." Husky spoke, following Kalem's directions.

To their surprise, once again the creature slightly nodded.

"It can understand us..." Fx said. Everyone was amazed by this realization.

"Okay..." Husky took a deep breath and continued. "We need you to show yourself now..."

The creature stood immobile for a second. They weren't sure how it would react.

"Understand that this is for our safety. Remember that this is our home, and you're technically an intruder." Husky explained. He wasn't too happy about telling the creature this, but it was necessary.

"You must have an atmosphere analyzer build in your armor. Please use it and if our air is not safe for you, then let us know by any means. That room that you're in can be adjusted to your needs."

The creature seemed to understand and after a few seconds of looking around him he inputted commands in his armor. For a second he seemed frustrated. Apparently his armor had a malfunction.

"Our atmosphere is at 18% Oxygen, 81.50% Nitrogen and the rest of its components are just Argon and very small traces of Carbon Dioxide." Husky said when he noticed the slight frustration on the creature. Hopefully it would understand and this atmosphere would be ideal for its survival.

The creature seemed to be struggling again with its thoughts. Husky and the team didn't know how to help the creature, until Husky came up with an idea.

"Listen. Look at me..." Husky said. He had a plan. It wasn't really a very helpful plan, but maybe this would help the creature know if it was safe to take off its helmet.

Husky inputted a command in his armor, and a soft hiss came out of it.

"Husky, what are you doing? This is not part of the protocol!" Kalem instantly confronted Husky.

"Let him, Kalem. He's got a plan." Hasky quickly interceded.

A white mist came from Husky's helmet as this dissected into various pieces that soon folded into compartments within the armor itself. Husky had taken his helmet off, revealing his appearance to the creature. Looking down, with his eyes closed, Husky slowly raised his head and opened his eyes, looking directly to the creature.

As with the Evo's armor, the creature couldn't be seen behind his helmet. There was no visible visor or anything. But Husky could feel how the creature was looking right into his eyes.

Husky's blue eyes stared directly into the creature, hoping that his appearance gave it a hint of what kind of environment they lived in. Life forms usually shared common traits when living in similar conditions. It was not an exact science, but it was usually fairly accurate.

"This is us. I hope that this helps you understand if our environment is ideal for you." Husky said; now through a com system that connected to speakers inside the room.

Something was going on with the creature. It just stared at Husky. But after a minute it reached for the belt of his armor, and with a push of a series of button combinations, his armor released its atmosphere in a white mist.

"Don't worry. If you need help we will be ready." Husky confirmed.

The creature slowly raised his arms until it reached its helmet. It slowly took it off...

The Evos were nervous as they've never been. Encountering alien life forms was never something to be taken lightly, especially if this being was inside their ship.

Time felt as going slower than usual as the creature slowly slid his helmet off of his head. They Evos were ready to face this creature that had just crashed into their home. They didn't know what to expect.

What a surprise when this creature's helmet was half way through.

"He has fur..." Fx said when he had a glance at the tufts of the softest looking pure white fur settling after being pressed into that helmet for who knows how long.

It was like the creature doubted for a second, but it continued until his helmet was completely off. What Evocanis were seeing at that moment was something they would never forget in their lives...

In front of them in that room, the most beautiful creature stared at them with its penetrating golden eyes. Its pure white fur shined strongly against the strong white lights of the room. The creature looked concerned as it never took its sight from Husky. But it was not really concern, but more curiousness. And it had many reasons to feel curious... Husky in essence looked just like him...

Husky couldn't find the right words. He had his eyes fixed right at the creature's. Husky closed his eyes for a second and shook his head. Then he opened them back again and kept on staring at the creature. It was strange... A sense of familiarity invaded Husky. Maybe it was because of the creature's identical appearance to them.

"He looks just alike an Evo!" Hasky said. Everyone was shocked.

"What's going on? How does a creature like him exist? Could he be one of us?" Anubis now questioned. They were excited, but very confused. The creature was also very surprised. It hadn't moved ever since it took its helmet off and kept on staring at Husky.

"Take your helmets off. Everyone." Husky ordered his friends. He never stopped looking at the creature.

This was not part of the protocol, but something in the rest of the Evos told them that it was okay. After a few seconds, the D.E Team had their helmets removed. The creature just stared at all of them from the other side of the glass wall. His defensive stance was less noticeable now, but his eyes were still fixed at its hosts. Surprised or not, the protocol needed to continue.

"I would really want to know if you can understand us. So far you have given us the hint that you do." Husky said. The creature still looked at him but didn't respond.

"Okay... The next thing that we need you to do is take off that armor and put it in the compartment that you see next to that metallic table behind you." Husky said, following Kalem's orders. "A medic team will soon arrive and treat your wounds if necessary."

The creature didn't seem to follow for a few minutes. The situation must have been very tense and confusing.

"Please. Do not be afraid. We won't hurt you. We just need to make sure you don't have anything on you that could hurt us. I'm not talking about weapons. We also have to make sure we don't have anything that might hurt you as well. The last thing we want for you is to keep you in that small room forever." Husky said. The last line was completely out of protocol, but it came right from Husky's heart. This creature was so appealing to their eyes, that they immediately felt a connection with it. They didn't want to keep him or her inside that room.

"Again, please take your armor off. It needs to be sterilized. After that we will perform some simple tests on you and sterilize you as well."

The creature seemed reluctant to obey, but it soon realized that it was probably the best if he followed with its host's orders.

After a few minutes and without taking his sight from the Evos, the creature stripped from his armor revealing how this magnificent white coat covered his entire body. Taking off the plating that covered his tail revealed the puffiest tail that an Evo had seen before, short of being as big as its body.

"Thank you. You can sit in that metallic table. We will run some tests and if everything goes okay, we will make contact with you." Husky informed the creature that cautiously walked backwards never taking his sight from them, until he sat on the metallic table. "You are a very beautiful creature, by the way. Something tells me you're like us and everything will be okay. If you clear the tests, then you are welcome into this ship." Husky added, once again slipping out from protocol.

Maybe half an hour had passed. The medic team had been checking through cameras and atmosphere analyzers the status of the creature. Everything indicated that he didn't carry anything in his body that could be harmful for the Evos... so far. The next would be performing a closer inspection.

"I know you're probably tired. We are doing this as fast as we can." Husky kept on talking with the creature, to keep building trust. The creature kept on staring at him without giving any response. But Husky did notice the expression of the creature seemed slightly more relaxed.

"Apparently a male; definitely a mammal with strong canine characteristics. There are differences in his facial structure, but seeing through the X-Ray cam, his bone structure is just like ours. Not sure if he is a youngling, or very short in size though." One of the medic Evos gave a report to Kalem in a room close by.

"Do you think it's safe for us to lift the quarantine?" Kalem asked.

"Well... I don't know. I think the next step would be to make contact with him. We need some blood samples and check if he's not hurt. The X-ray cam doesn't reveal any fractures, but he might have some bruising and sprains. No internal damage detected thankfully. His internal organs all seem to be healthy and surprisingly he looks just like us in the inside."

"Okay..."

There wasn't much to do now, but to get closer to the creature. Since Husky was the one keeping in constant contact with him, he was ordered by Kalem to proceed.

"Okay..." Husky spoke once again with the creature. "So far we haven't detected anything that might suggest a threat to us or you. This is what will happen now." Husky explained. He was very nervous, and the creature seemed to be listening very closely. "I will open the room and go inside. After I'm sure that everything is fine, a medic will come in too and check if you're okay. Just in case you didn't notice, you just crashed into a solid iron wall not an hour ago, so we want to make sure you're okay."

The creature still stared at Husky as he approached the entrance. Husky had taken of his armor and wore his regular outfit to look less menacing. He carried a white fluffy sheet with him.

After going through a secondary decontamination chamber, the door that lead inside the room now opened. Husky was face to face with the creature, which was not a few meters from him, sitting in the metallic table.

Husky slowly approached the creature, trying to look as friendly as possible. Those golden eyes never stopped from looking at him as he slowly approached.

"Hi..." Husky greeted the creature gently. "My name is Husky. You are in our home, Canis Major." Husky said as he stopped just a meter or two form the creature. "I'm the one who reached for you outside. I'm very glad to see you face to face."

Husky didn't know how to react, or what to say next. He did his best to look sure of himself, but also not to look as a menace for this creature.

"We are very surprised by your appearance... As you might already notice, we are very alike." Husky continued. The creature still stared at him, now looking more relaxed but still analyzing Husky's every move.

"If you are able to speak, and if you understand me, I would like that you do so..."

The creature shook his head for a second, but not as denying that he could speak, but probably debating with himself if he should.

"It's okay... So you speak 9051? I know you at least understand it. What is your name?" Husky asked gently as he smiled at the creature.

What happened next was incredible. The creature apparently wanted to say something.

"Yes? Go ahead. I hear you. Even if you can't speak my language, we will find a way to understand each other..." Husky reassured the little white furred creature. Husky made the first move and got close, giving the white fluffy sheet to the creature.

"Here you go. Sitting in that metallic table might be a bit uncomfortable." Husky said.

The creature slowly extended his arm to reach for the sheet, and happily accepted it. He immediately placed it around him and pressed it hard against him. Who knows how long it had passed since he felt some comfort.

Husky smiled, while the creature seemed to feel more comfortable...

"...I do... understand you..." a very soft and almost inaudible voice was heard.

"What was that?" Husky asked surprised. His heart pounded rapidly after that brief interaction.

"My name is Yukiomaru Alexander." The white creature now spoke clearer. "Admiral Yukiomaru Alexander of the UDAS."

"You do speak our language!" Husky said very happy. Not only he had the appearance of this creature helping build the trust, but now he knew they could easily communicate. Husky approached the creature even more and placed his hand paw on Yukiomaru's shoulder. "Do not worry, Yukium... Yuk..."

"Yukiomaru." The white creature repeated.

"Yukiomaru." Husky now got it right. "Don't worry. We will help you with what you need. You're safe in Canis Major."

"Thank you for your help..." Yukiomaru responded. Still slightly defensive, but he could feel warmth coming from Husky that made him feel somewhat at ease.

"We have a lot to talk about, Yukiomaru. But first we must make sure you're okay. And by the way, you are very welcome, my little furred friend..."

It was strange. But that sense of familiarity became even stronger when Husky heard the creature speaking, especially when he heard his name. He wasn't sure why, but it was evident that the Evocanis race had once again been lucky and might have found a new friend to share their love with. Only time would tell what would come out of this new friendship.
