#1 of Life As A Breeder

"No way! Your parents really run a breading house?" a voice said in excitement, perhaps a little too loudly. Aiden, however, had zoned out from the conversation a long time ago and didn't really hear what the overly enthusiastic girl sitting at his lunch table had said. He guessed that she had been talking to him though, because the table had gone quiet after the question was asked.

Thankfully, his sister Alyssa came to his rescue, answering the question for him.

"Yeah." She said next to him, taking a bite of her sandwich. She bopped her leg against his under the table, and he shot her a thankful look. He wasn't trying to rude, but he was beyond tired. Alyssa smiled at him and went back to fielding the other questions from their friends.

Thankfully the bell rang shortly after, allowing the day to progress and draw that much closer to the time when Aiden could finally get some sleep. His lunch group dissipated, each headed to their next class, and Aiden yawned as he dumped the rest of his lunch into the trash. He had been working on a project that was only supposed to take an hour, instead he caught a major problem and had to spend majority of the night fixing it. He wasn't sure exactly how much sleep he got, but it wasn't enough.

"Forgetting someone?" Alyssa called from behind him. Aiden stopped and blinked a few times before turning.

"Sorry." He grinned.

"You still wiped out?"

"I've stopped feeling emotions hours ago....."

Alyssa giggled, as she joined her arm with his and began walking to their next class.

He always managed to feel more relaxed whenever they were together. Maybe it was a twin thing.

Aidan and Alyssa were born exactly thirty minutes apart. He was borne first, a fact that often came in handy in an argument. According to the story his parents told them, Aidan wailed as he was taken away, the sound loud enough even to worry the doctors. They weren't sure what the problem was, until after Alyssa was borne. When she was brought over to him, herself crying equally as loud, the two suddenly calmed down as they were placed side by side.

They had been inseparable every since.

While the twins shared the same physical characteristics; white complexion, dark red hair and forest green eyes, their personalities were very different. Alyssa was the more athletic one, and had been a part of their middle and high school track and field teams. Aidan wasn't out of shape though, he just saw running as more of a chore than a hobby. Instead, he usually had his nose buried in one book or another. Subject didn't matter; as he would read whatever he could get his hands on. As a result, he excelled at school.

"Can I go to sleep yet?" he asked, allowing her to lead him to class.

"Not yet. A few more hours I promise." She grinned, pushing a strand of her shoulder length hair behind her ears.

Aidan groaned.

Aidan didn't remember exactly how he got home, but before he knew it he was opening the front door and shuffling inside. He was barley aware of his sister behind him, shutting the door as he proceeded up the stairs and to his room.

The house, as usual, was spotless. This was quite a task, as the two-story house was quite big, and cleaning was often a daylong chore. His parents had bought it shortly after they got married, and it was here that they started their business. Breeding anthromorphic animals for the public was a challenge, especially in the early days. But they had been on the forefront and, when the trend finally took off, became quite wealthy. The business grew at an exponential rate. First it was the addition of a second house to the property, which served as the main breeding house and where most of the anthros slept and were trained. Then the business expanded into other states and eventually other countries. Today his parents had offices all over the world. Once he had asked his parents why the business had become so successful.

"Because we care!" His mom simply answered, leaving him to ponder its meaning. His parents did care, about a lot of things. Before anthros came along, his parents were big in the animal rights community. When shady organizations started selling anthros that were borne and raised in horrid conditions, his parents stepped in to offer something different. All anthros raised by his family were treated with dignity and respect, and lived in spacious houses. It had cost the company, but their higher quality animals were always in demand.

Unfortunately, his parents were still very involved, often leaving for extended weekend trips to their many facilities. Aidan understood, but it didn't mean he had to like it.

Many of these thoughts were far from his mind though as he finished ascending the stairs. Alyssa called up at him as he reached the final step.

"I'm going on a run. I'll wake you for dinner!"

He made some sort of grumble in response and headed to his room. He was so close now. All he had to do is open the door and collapse on the bed.

As he pushed his door open and stepped into his room, a familiar form caught his eye. Sitting in his chair at his desk, reading a book from his collection was Chloe. She jumped at his quick entrance and he couldn't help but smile.

Chloe was a white and light blue anthro husky, borne and raised in the house next door for the purpose of being a service dog to some rich couple in New York. They were willing to pay quite a large sum of money for her too, as she far surpassed many anthros in intelligence.

But something went wrong.

Not but a few days after they took her home did they bring her back, extremely dissatisfied. He never found out exactly what caused the couple to do this, but he was extremely grateful they did. He had become extremely attached to the husky. For their twelfth birthday, his parents allowed Alyssa and him to each pick an anthro that would be theirs. He chose her without hesitation, but was devastated when he found out that she was already sold. Fortunately, after the incident, he was allowed to keep her.

He decided to name her Chloe, after the heroine in the Greek play Daphnis and Chloe. Alyssa called him a dork, but the name stuck.

"Mmaster!" Chloe called, her sweet voice filling the room.

Despite the numerous times he told her to call him by his name, she would sometimes slip when surprised.

He walked over to the husky and pat her head, her soft fur feeling great on his skin.

"Sorry I scared you."

She smiled at his attention, tail wagging unconsciously.

As he moved over to his bed, he noticed that she was wearing one of his t-shirts with a pair of her shorts. He was going to ask her about this, but she spoke up first.

"Do you want me to go?" she asked, rising up from the chair once she noticed he was heading towards the bed. She walked over to him, and offered to take his backpack, which he didn't even realize he still had.

He remembered when they were the same height, but now she came up just past his shoulders, reminding him of just how much they both had grown up.

Anthros aged faster than humans, but slower than regular dogs. A regular anthro could expect to live forty to fifty years, and Chloe had just turned the human equivalent of sixteen.

"No." he said softly, handing the item over and slowly moving into bed. "You can stay if you want."

Chloe nodded and made her way back to the chair.

Aidan wanted to say more. He wanted to ask the husky about her day, about the book she was reading, but all questions were lost the second he hit the bed. He was able to kick off his shoes and lay his head on the pillow- but that was it.

He was out.

Chloe smiled as Aidan's breathing slowed and he entered what she hoped was a peaceful sleep. Slowly she returned her attention back to her book.

It was about an hour later when she noticed the teen on the bed shiver. He didn't have time to cover himself before passing out, and he kept the room a little cooler than normal ever since she moved in, because he knew that she liked it. She would have put up with any temperature in order to stay in his room with him, and she had told him so (more or less), but he was adamant that she be comfortable.

Chloe listened to see if anyone was around as she slowly got up. When she was satisfied that there was no one else around, the husky put the book on the table and moved over to the bed, taking careful steps to avoid waking him. When she was finally close enough, she sat at the edge, within arms reach from him. Gently, she pulled the covers over his body, and watched as he slowly stopped shivering.

"You work too hard." She whispered, knowing that it would not be enough to wake him.

She had been up with him last night, doing whatever she could to help the project move faster so he could go to sleep. He was a perfectionist though, and when he found that error well into the night, he insisted on fixing it. It added a few hours onto their work time, but he was insistent.

Chloe knew that his perfectionist tendencies were only partly the reason for his insistence. The other half was Alyssa. The girl was struggling a little in their history class and Aidan had insisted on partnering with her on the project to help boost her grade. Normally he would have left the error for the morning, but he didn't want to take any chances when it came to helping his sister.

The husky smiled at her master as she moved a stray lock of his hair away from his eyes and tucked it behind his ear. He looked so peaceful when he slept.

Eventually she decided to leave him be, but not before leaning over and lightly using the tip of her light blue tongue to kiss the tip of his nose.

A few minutes later, Chloe closed the door to Aidan's room gently, mind set on a glass of milk to take back up before she continued her book. She made it but a few steps towards the stairs when a voice called out to her, stopping her in her tracks.

"Enjoying your quality time?" the voice asked.

Chloe rolled her eyes, but her cheeks turned a bright shade of red at having been caught. She looked over, and saw Damian.

The first thing everyone noticed about Damian were his eyes, a beautiful deep green color you could get lost in. That trait was rare, especially among other German shepherd anthros. He was also kind, loyal, funny, and especially drawn to Alyssa, who had chosen him in the same way Aiden had chosen her. As he stood a little ways away from her, Chloe could see that he was wearing a his classic running shorts but no shirt, allowing all those interested a look at his toned chest.

"Har har." She fake laughed, causing him to smile. The two were friends, and had been raised in the same litter.

She continued down the stairs and he followed her into the kitchen. As he chose a seat at the table, she moved over to the fridge.

"How is he?" He asked, partly as a way to start conversation and partly because he cared. The twins spent most of their lives helping out with the family business, doing menial chores around the anthro house next door, and they were often placed in charge of it while their parents were gone. Their kind, warm demeanor had made them well liked by the other anthros.

"Tired. He passed out the second he got home." She answered, before pulling out the carton of milk and tipping it in his direction, asking if he wanted some as well.

"Dang" the Shepherd answered, nodding in response. The husky poured the two a glass and moved to sit across from him at the table.

"I don't even remember what time he went to bed."

"Must have been pretty late. But at least he had you to take "care" of him." Damian grinned.

Chloe spurt out a little milk as the realization of what he was saying sunk in. She pounded on her chest as she swallowed hard, a blush now furiously raging.

The two anthros had many late night conversations around this very table while their owners were asleep. As a result, each knew quite a lot about the other, and many a secret was shared. One such night, after much poking and prodding, he had gotten her to give up her most closely guarded secret.

She was in love Aidan.

--

When she first met Aidan, her heart would pound in her chest whenever he was around. Even the sound of his voice had been enough to fill her stomach with butterflies. At the time, she had chalked it up to puppy love, a simple crush that she would outgrow with time. But as the years went by her feelings only got stronger. While she was finally able to control the butterflies in her stomach, she was sure he noticed how often she blushed when he pet her, or how often just hearing him say her name sent her pesky tail wagging.

When it came time to leave, to go with that couple from New York, she was devastated. What killed her the most, though, was the look of pure sadness on his face as they said goodbye. She made up her mind right then and there that she would do whatever it took to come back. On her first night she had run away, breaking a few priceless items in the process. It had been hard, as she was good tempered and shy by nature, but she would do whatever she needed to do. When she finally returned the couple was beyond furious and had returned her the next day. Aidan's parents were confused, unable to believe the story their clients told them, but they accepted her back nonetheless. On her way back to the house, a blur shot out of nowhere and wrapped its arms around her, pulling her close.

"You're back!" it said, beyond excited.

She would have recognized that scent anywhere.

As she wrapped her arms around him, inhaling the smell that had always managed to make her feel safe, she knew that she had made the right decision.

"I'm back!" she sighed.

She was finally home.

--

Her secret didn't come cheap, and after she made Damian swear he would never tell another soul, she expected a secret from him in return. He had smiled that charming smile of his and revealed a similar secret; he too was in love with his master.

"Jerk!" she said once she could breath again. Damian chuckled as he handed her a towel, quite confident in his ability to fluster her.

"You should tell him, though." He told her. "Really."

Chloe sighed. Damian was the bold one out of the two of them. He was naturally charismatic, a trait she wished she had. "I wish it were that easy."

Damian nodded knowingly, but suddenly grinned. "You could try something a little more.... obvious."

She eyed him suspiciously.

"You know....like...mating."

Chloe didn't know she could blush any harder.

"Stop teasing me!" she said, getting up from the table quickly to put her glass in the sink. It was the best thing she could think of to do so he wouldn't see her now crimson red cheeks.

"I'm serious!"

"Oh yeah?" she said, putting the glass in the sink and turning around to face him, "If you think that would work, why haven't you tried it yourself?"

The Shepherd locked eyes with her, before looking away with a slight grin on his face.

"Actually....."

Chloe's eyes got wide. "You did not!"

He nodded his head, before looking up again with a much bigger smile. "Two nights ago."

"WHAT!?" she nearly shouted, shock evident on her face. "What happened?"

"Well..." he said, motioning for her to sit back down, which she did quite eagerly. "I had gone out for a pretty late jog around the property." He said, finger circling the air like a lasso.

She nodded.

"When I got back, I was going to go straight into the shower, but realized that I forgot to lay out a spare change of clothes. So I went upstairs to grab some out of ma...Alyssa's room. I was right outside the door when I heard heavy breathing coming from inside the room. I thought something was wrong! Like she needed help or something! So I opened the door quickly, my heart beating so hard into my chest and quickly scanned the room.....but...."

"But?"

"She was....was...." he said, a slight blush now on his face.

"Yes?!" she practically shouted, now on the edge of her seat.

"She was....playing with herself." He said, using the best language he could.

"No!"

"God!' he exclaimed, slumping back in his chair, "It was the most embarrassing moment of my life! She was just laying there, completely naked, and I couldn't stop staring."

"What happened next?"

"She stopped...mid moan. We locked eyes and I think time froze for a few seconds. Finally I managed to regain control of...most of my body" he grinned. " I turned around and started walking out. I was almost out when she said something. She asked me to stop.... I turned back around, using every ounce of my willpower to look only at her eyes. I thought she would be...I mean she had never been really mad at me before...but...."

"Anyway" he said, getting back on track, "her voice was really shaky when she finally spoke again. She...she asked if I wanted to come inside..."

"And?"

"And...I did." He said with another grin, leaving the rest up to her imagination.

The husky slumped back into her chair, trying to absorb all the information. "I can't believe you guys just...did it!"

"Me neither!" he said, slumping back in his own chair, "but it was awesome!"

"I'm happy for you!" Chloe said, genuinely happy for her friend. "But I don't think something like that would happen to me...."

"That's why you've got to be bold!" he told her, sitting forward in his seat again. "Find what you want, and take it!"

"I don't know...."

"Or someone else will."

Chloe flinched.

The words were harsh, harsher than Damian intended, but he knew how much she wanted this. He had to find a way to make her let herself be happy.

Chloe looked down at her hands as they lay in her lap, letting Damian's words sink in. Just the mention of Aidan with someone else filled her with dread. She could almost see herself, genuinely happy for him but filled with a dreadful loneliness, the possibilities playing out in her mind in torturous detail. She sighed as one of her hands brushed the fur on the other.

"I just....wish I was....human." she said quietly.

The shepherd just sighed as he got up and walked over to her. Gently, he placed his hand on her shoulder.

"You don't have to be."

They stayed like that for a few seconds, before the sound of a door opening drew their attention.

"I'm back!" Alyssa called as she entered the house, kicking off her shoes. "Anyone still here?"

Damian gave the husky one last squeeze of reassurance before he pulled his hand away. "In the kitchen!" he called happily, tail wagging in excitement. A minute later, Alyssa entered the kitchen and wrapped the Shepherd in a big hug.

"Hey guys! You hungry?"

"Starved!" he answered. Chloe nodded and did her best to smile at the human.

"Great!" Alyssa answered, letting the anthro go and walking towards the cupboard. When she passed the husky, the girl reached a hand out and ruffled the fur on the top of the husky's head. Chloe tried to act like everything was fine.

"I should be done pretty soon. Mind waking the ungrateful dead for me?" The twin asked, smiling.

She smiled, "Sure!"

--

During her entire walk back up the stairs, Chloe tried to banish her feelings of sadness to the back of her mind. It was like caging a very unhappy tiger, every time she thought she had done it, something managed to escape. When she finally reached the top, she gave it one last push and walked up to her master's room. Quietly she opened the door and slipped inside.

She had turned the lights off as she left earlier, and now the only light in the room was from a slowly setting sun. The husky walked back over to the bed and sat in the same spot she had earlier. Orange light bathed the room and illuminated his face as she gazed down at him.

'You're not good enough!' the tiger mocked, searching the cage for weak points. She did the best to resist the bait.

"master...." She whispered, gently shaking him a little. The twin stirred a little, but did not wake up.

"Master..." she said a little louder this time, shaking him again. He stirred a little more this time, but still did not wake up.

She sighed, leaning in so that her muzzle was right next his ear.

"master...It's time to get up!" she whispered, her breath tickling him.

"hmmmhuhhhhhhmmm" he grumbled, hands snaking out from the cover as he turned on his side to face where she was sitting. But he didn't open his eyes.

"What?" she asked, pulling her head back so she could see his face.

"I said..." Aidan smiled, eyes still closed, "Stop calling me that!"

Suddenly, his arms reached out and wrapped around her slender frame, pulling her down on top of him and tickling her.

"No!" the husky giggled as she lay on his chest.

"What's my name?" he asked as he held her tight against him, keeping up his assault. She kept laughing.

"A *giggle Aid *giggle an!"

"What?" he asked, his laughter joining hers.

"Aidan!" she finally managed to get out between giggles.

Satisfied, the boy released his hold on her and brought his hands up to rub the sleep from his eyes.

Chloe sighed in contentment as she kept her head on his chest, her giggles dying down. As her breathing began to return to normal, she listened to his heartbeat. She also took the chance to inhale deeply, letting his scent encircle her in a blanket of safety. The tiger was slowly pushed farther and farther away from her thoughts.

"Are you ok?"

She nodded into him, and lifted her head. Gently, she licked once along his neck and nuzzled back into him. He smiled at her affection, and while one hand wrapped around her, the other massaged the top of her head. The two lay like that for a few minutes in comfortable silence.

"You sure?"

"Yeah..."

'Now'.

The smell of spaghetti was the first thing Aidan noticed as he entered the kitchen.

"About time!" Alyssa said, jokingly as she took the pasta out of the oven. He could see Damian sitting in his usual spot next to his sister on one side.

"Sorry." He said, walking over to where Chloe usually sat and pulled out her chair for her. He usually did this, and it never failed to earn a beaming smile. "I was sleeping like a log."

"Why do you think I sent in the big gun?" his sister answered, gesturing over to Chloe, "she's the only one who can manage to wake you up! Now come help me set the table!"

"Yes Mom..." he said, grinning as he made his way towards the cupboards where they kept the plates.

"Chloe....you mind if I talk to you for a second?" he heard Damian ask as he was setting plates for the four of them. Chloe nodded and the pair got up and started walking towards the living room.

"Go ahead and start without us!" Damian said, looking back before disappearing. The humans shrugged as they sat across from each other.

"By the way," Aidan said, digging into the pasta, "did you take good notes in history today? I couldn't focus."

Alyssa nodded, eating her food before she stopped and grinned. "You know. If you took your studies a little more seriously, you wouldn't have gone to bed so late."

Aidan met his sister's eyes, and grinned himself. "Please", he gestured wildly, "continue!"

"I'm just saying" she said, circling her fork to gather her food, "If you hadn't waited until the last minute to do your half, you could have gotten more sleep."

"I see..." he answered, still grinning as he took a sip of his water.

"I mean, I was done with my half a couple of days ago! Tisk Tisk!" she said, flicking her fork twice at him to further her point.

What she had forgot, though, was that there was still a good amount of food left on that fork at the time, and what was left flew across the table and hit his shirt before coming to rest on top of his lap.

Aidan's eyes widened as he looked from his shirt, to his shorts, and then to his sister. His grin got even bigger.

"Oh really?"

Alyssa's mouth opened in surprise. "Aidan...." She said wearily, watching as he gathered a fair amount of food on his fork. "Don't!"

It was too late. With a quick flick of his wrist, he hit her shirt and laughed in victory.

"Ok....It's on!"

What happened next was pure, unadulterated chaos. The teens were running around the kitchen, throwing food at each other and laughing hysterically. The kitchen took the brunt of it, as more than a few shots missed.

One in particular came from Aidan, who upon seeing his sister close to the kitchen entrance threw a particularly large handful of food at her. Alyssa, though, had seen the blow coming, and managed to duck just in time. She waited for the sound of the food hitting the ground, but it never did. Looking behind her, she gasped in surprise as a certain blue husky stood behind her, a good amount of spaghetti hanging from her muzzle. The look on Chloe's face was priceless.

Aidan just stood there in shock.

"Oh really?" the husky said, sounding so much like he had earlier that he would have laughed if the situation wasn't so scary.

"Hold on now..." he said, hands up.

But it was too late.

Aidan smiled as he made his way up the stairs, toweling off his damp hair as he climbed. The fight had gone on a little longer after Chloe and Damian entered, but they only had so much pasta. Eventually they all collapsed on the floor, laughing at how each was coated either in either pasta or sauce. The fight had used up all their food, and they all ended up having to have cereal for dinner. As the twins offered to clean up the kitchen, the anthros used the two available showers. It had taken quite some time to get the kitchen back up to shape, and even longer to wash out all the sauce, but it had been well worth it. He hadn't laughed like that in a long time.

As he entered his room, it was pretty late. He was still tired, but his nap earlier and the food fight had energized him. As he closed the door behind him, he tossed the towel to the side and looked around the room for his canine companion. He found her on his bed reading her book.

"Not tired?" he asked.

She lowered her book just enough so she could narrow her eyes at him, "I can't. I'm too mad at you."

Aidan raised his hands in surrender as he grinned at her.

"Alyssa started it!"

The husky closed her book and put it on the dresser next to the bed. She then crossed her arms and looked away from him with a dignified huff.

Aidan laughed, when suddenly an idea popped into his head. Slowly he made his way over to the light switch, and with a flick covered the room in darkness. The moon prevented the room from becoming completely pitch black though, and his silhouette was illuminated in white light as it slowly crept over to the unsuspecting husky.

"No!" she grinned, watching as he moved onto the bed and started moving closer to her. "I'm still mad at you!"

"Too late!" he whispered, before he pounced, arms finding all her ticklish spots again. The husky erupted in a fit of laughter at his assault. Her arms couldn't move fast enough as he straddled her, fingers poking her sides.

He pressed his attack when he felt her let up a little, and was rewarded with a renewed round of giggles. They were both breathing pretty hard when she finally tapped out.

"Ok! Ok! I give up!" she said, her sides hurting from laughter. Aidan looked down at her in victory.

"Good!" he grinned smugly.

But it was a trick. The second he let his guard down she acted. Shifting her weight, the husky was just barely able to flip positions.

"Oof!", Aidan said, finding his back pressed against the mattress and a confident blue husky above him, one of her arms on either side of his chest.

Both laughed at her victory as each fought to regain their breathing. The moon outlined her shapely body as she gazed down at him, and Aidan couldn't help but notice how her eyes sparkled. As he gazed up into them, he couldn't help but notice how pretty they were.

How pretty she was.

But he could see a confliction in her eyes as well. Something was battling for control inside her mind.

"You sure you're ok?" he asked again, bringing his hand up to the side of her cheek.

She closed her eyes and nuzzled into his hand, sighing deeply. When she opened them again, she seemed different...more determined.

"Because I car" he started to say, but he was cut off as her muzzle pressed tightly against his lips.

Aidan's eyes went wide in surprise as the girl kissed him.

It wasn't a passionate kiss, but it was tender and delicate. Like a lover coming home from a long journey away.

Slowly though, as the kiss continued, his eyes began to close as he relaxed into it. A wave of different emotions washed over him, but the most prominent one was....contentment. Something about this...about her....felt right.

Aidan would admit that when they both started growing up, he noticed some...differences in his canine friend. When he went through puberty, he couldn't stop his mind from commenting on just how pretty she looked every day he saw her. It wasn't just her body though, her mind had grown even sharper. He had chalked his feeling up to a simple childhood crush, and had never said anything, for he figured she wouldn't be interested in someone that wasn't an anthro.

Slowly he felt her pull away from the kiss, but not before brushing the tip of her tongue against his lips.

He opened his eyes and looked up at her, but she refused to meet his gaze.

"I-I'm sorry!" she said, her hands covering her muzzle.

Aidan tried to say something, but his brain hadn't untangled itself yet.

"I-I Just....couldn't keep going on....as things were.." she said. Her whole body was shaking and he could see tears forming.

He had never seen her so vulnerable, at least not since they were younger. Whenever she would have a particularly bad dream, or something scared her pretty badly, she would go find him and tell him everything. He remembered how she used to shake as he held her, telling her that everything was going to be all right. This changed when she went through puberty. She was more self conscious, especially when he was around. She would still come to him when something was wrong, but there was always something she held back. When she came back from New York, he thought that something had gone away. Apparently he was wrong.

He didn't know what to do as he gazed up at her as she tried her best to reign in her emotions. He could see the confliction on her face now. He could see how badly she wanted to collapse onto his chest and let it all out, but she was unsure how he would react now.

He knew he had to do something. He had to comfort her.

So he did the only thing his brain would allow.

He kissed her again.

It was her turn to be surprised this time, as his hand reached around the back of her head and pushed her muzzle against his lips again. As he held her in the kiss, his other hand wiped away any tears on her eyes. He couldn't help but notice how nice she smelled from her shower, the scent of fresh blueberries automatically relaxing him. His kiss seemed to work on her too, as her body stopped shaking. Gently, he moved his hands away and broke the kiss.

"You smell nice." He said, grinning at her like an idiot.

"Mmhmm." She mumbled, her eyes still closed. She stayed that way for a few seconds, before her eyes fluttered open and she gazed down at him.

"Hey." He said, still grinning.

"Hey." She said, her voice barley a whisper. He expected her to say something else, but she just kept staring at him.

"...you wanna lie down?" he asked, patting his chest.

She shook her head, eyes still sparkling in the moonlight.

"You wanna...kiss again?"

"yes please."

He grinned as he placed a hand on her back and gently flipped positions. Now lying on top of her, the human traced her lips gently with his thumb. He had never felt this way before. It was almost like his brain had shut off completely, and the only thing left in his head was the desire to kiss the husky below him, to hold her. She was so vulnerable beneath him, all her emotions there for him to see. Fear, the fear of rejection, was still there, but it was only a speck compared to something else, something that had been there all along but he had never noticed it until now.

Love. True, unconditional love.

A warm, wet feeling broke him out of his thoughts as he saw that Chloe had gently licked his thumb as it finished its journey. Slowly, he removed his finger and kissed her again. Both closed their eyes in bliss as she wrapped her arms around his head and played with his hair.

After a few seconds, Aidan felt the husky part her lips slightly and run her tongue across his, silently asking for permission to enter. He parted his in acceptance and she pushed her tongue into his mouth. She moaned softly as his tongue met hers, each exploring the other with curiosity. Her breath was hot in his mouth as they continued their slow, passionate display.

He could feel his body responding to her attention, his pajama pants growing tighter. He tried to keep the bulge in his pants from pressing against her, but he was sure she could feel it.

As they gently parted, he noticed a thin trail of saliva that connected the two, before it too faded from sight. She kept her arms around him as they broke, keeping him close to her. She was smiling now, a beautiful blinding smile that made him smile back.

"again please" she said, smiling as she played with a lock of his hair. He rolled his eyes at her.

"I've created a monster!"

She giggled as she licked the tip of his chin, and pushed him down for another kiss. This one was a little more passionate, filled with more need. While they kissed, he felt one of her arms unwrap itself from his neck and explore his body. He kept his eyes closed as he felt her hand press against his shirt and began creeping lower. His eyes shut tighter when she found his bulge, especially as she traced it lightly with her fingers. Even through the thin fabric, he could feel her touch. She brushed past it one last time on her way back up to his stomach. When she reached just past the elastic band, she stopped, hesitating, before she slipped her hands under the band and the layer of underwear that blocked her from her prize.

He moaned into her as impossibly soft fur brushed against him, sending a jolt of pleasure throughout his body. His own hand started moving on its own, taking a much faster journey into her pants as his other hand supported his weight. It was her turn to moan as his hand found what it was looking for, a warm, wet opening whose folds parted easily under his touch.

"I....I want you." She whispered pulling out of his kiss. She ground against his finger with a primal need.

"Are you sure?" he asked, fighting his hormones. All he could feel was her hand on him, stroking.

She nodded, licking his cheek quickly.

"Please?"

Aidan swallowed in nervousness, but nodded.

Quickly they undressed, clothes carelessly discarded as he moved on top of her again. Her soft fur felt great against his bare chest, and as they met for another kiss, he brought a hand to her firm breasts, massaging them with care.

The skin on his thigh was moist with her excitement when they parted again. He was barley able to contain himself. As he reached a hand back to guide himself to her entrance, she lapped at his neck and face. Another wave of pleasure coursed through him as he touched his tip to her entrance.

"Are you ready?" he asked, looking down at her with a tinge of worry. She smiled up at him and nodded.

Slowly, he began to push inside.

Both gasped at the sensation. It felt like he was encased in impossibly tight warmth, which contracted around him with such force as to trap him inside. He continued pushing inside of her until he came to her barrier. Slowly he pulled back out, anticipating what was to come next.

"This is gonna hurt." He told her, hands stroking her face. Chloe looked up at him with trust, nodding.

He prepared himself, steadying his arms. When only his tip remained inside of her, he looked deep into her eyes, before thrusting once, pushing all of him inside of her and smashing past the barrier. Her hands covered her muzzle as she yelped once in pain, a fresh set of tears appearing around her eyes.

He kissed away the tears near her eyes and waited. She felt unbelievably good, her walls soft and moist as they contracted wildly around him, but he fought the urge to move. Chloe wrapped her arms around his neck and burred her face in his shoulder, the fur pressed against the side of his face.

"That hurt..." she said, grinning into him despite the pain. He brought one of his hands to the back of her head, petting her.

"Do you wanna stop?" he asked, his concern for her overriding everything else in his brain.

She shook her head, and nuzzled deeper into him, taking a deep breath. They stayed like that for a few minutes, holding each other close as the pain in her slowly receded, only to be replaced with a growing pleasure. Soon she pulled her face away, licking his exposed skin anywhere she could. He smiled at her as she gave him the nod to continue.

Slowly he began humping into her again, first at a much slower pace both to let her get used to it and so he could explore all the warmth inside her. Each new thrust brought with it an explosion of emotion and feeling. She brought him into another kiss as he started picking up speed. The kiss was much sloppier, each conveying their desire for the other. She moaned as he slammed into her again.

Aidan felt all sense of reason leave him as he pushed himself into the female below. She felt incredibly good, so soft and moist as he pushed into her. Her tongue was still so unbelievably warm in his mouth and her fur sent shivers up his spine. As they broke the kiss, she moaned into his ear, her panting tickling his skin. He increased his speed, seeking to get deeper and deeper into her as his humping turned primal. His sac repeatedly hitting the base of her tail as the sloppy, wet sound of their lovemaking grew a little louder.

"yes!" she moaned, her tongue lapping his face wildly as each powerful thrust pushed her body forward. Her fingers gripped the bed sheets as her more primal instincts took over. Desperately she humped against him, matching his thrusts with her own.

The smell of her, the way her tongue tickled, and feel of her saliva on his skin and her juices on his crotch all made it impossibly hard for him to hold back. But still he fought, feeling her walls growing tighter.

"I-I'm gonna...cum!" she said, her voice muffled. "aidan....!"

Even the way she said his name evoked something within him. As the husky wrapped her legs around his hips, limiting his motion to keep him inside, he thrust harder and harder, reaching as deep into her as he possibly could.

As he gazed down at her face, he saw how totally lost in the pleasure she was. Her fur was slightly damp from their frenzied motions, and her tongue, after having found all the uncharted skin on his face, lolled out lazily. He smiled at how much she was enjoying this, and he took the opportunity to lick the short fur of her cheek and neck.

"aidan!" she said again, her walls growing impossibly tight around him.

He grit his teeth as he felt his orgasm growing closer and closer.

Their panting and gentle moans filled the air as the husky wrapped her arms around his neck again. She gave a few, wild thrusts before cumming hard, her whole body shaking as he pushed deep inside her. She gasped against him at the sensation, her eyes seeing stars.

He couldn't hold back anymore. With one last desperate thrust, he pushed deep inside of her and exploded, toes curling as his orgasm overtook him.

"Chloe!" he said, griping her body tight as rope after rope of his seed coated her walls.

The husky shook her hips desperately as his seed shot inside her, trying to milk out every last drop. They kissed as he finished emptying himself inside of her, the tingling warmth of euphoria still coursing through their bodies. When he eventually felt himself softening inside her, he rolled off, lying next to her as they both struggled to control their breathing.

--

Breathing under control, Aidan lay on his side so that Chloe could move over and cuddle with him. She buried her face in his chest, a huge smile on her face as he traced lazy patterns in her fur.

An overwhelming wave of happiness coursed inside her. That was everything she had ever hoped for, but she had been too afraid of rejection to ask. Her mind considered the possibilities now.

"That was..." he started, unable to find the right word to describe just how great that was.

"awesome." She finished for him, smiling into his chest.

He smiled back and wrapped his arms tighter around her. She was his, completely and utterly his.

"Is this what's been bothering you all day?"

She nodded into his chest, tired to keeping secrets from him. He was her best friend, and it was only now that she felt she could be completely honest with him.

"I've wanted this for so long..." she whispered, "but I thought you didn't want me....because I wasn't...."

"Human?" he finished, sighing as she nodded again.

"You know me better than that." He told her, his hand moving up to stroke the back of her head. Her tail wagged gently of its own accord, and she sighed in contentment.

"So what does this make us?" Anthro culture and practices had always been different from humans.

"I...was hoping...we could be....mates?" she asked, looking up into his eyes. Mates were the closest thing to exclusive that existed in anthro culture. However, it was a little different. Anthro culture did not place the same taboo on open relationships that humans did. Generally, anthros with mates were free be physical with whoever they wanted, but they shared something special with their mates, a deep emotional connection. Becoming mates was no small thing in anthro culture.

"Are you sure?" he asked. He was aware of instances where anthros and humans had become mates before, and while it was not much different from the kind of deep bond he shared with her now, it did prohibit her from having a mate of her own species.

She was growing tired, and they way he stroked her body didn't help any. Slowly her eyes began to droop, despite her attempts to stop them.

"I'm sure!" she said, eyes sparkling up at him as she fought to keep them open.

He smiled, and planted a small kiss on one of her ears. "Ok then." He said, "I'm in."

She had the widest smile on her face as sleep began to overtake her.

"I...*yawn....I love you..." She whispered, before shutting her eyes.

The last thing she felt before trailing off the sleep was the feel of his lips on her head, kissing her again.

"I love you too."

** Author's Note: Wow this story took a long time, but it was worth it in the end! I originally planned this story as a one-shot, but as I worked on it, I realized I really liked the characters and came up with a few different ideas for future chapters. When I finished it, I was again torn between making this a one shot and making this a mini series; so I am leaving it up to you! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think!! This is also a pretty shameless way for me to hear from readers! :) **
