Chapter 8-2: Why The Good Always Suffer... 2/3

New Moon Island-Sinnoh Region-13:51 P.M...

"So, the brat go what was coming to him? Why am I not surprised?" remarked Darkrai as he looked at Seje's condition. The Guardians, Kuri and Luke had all been transported to New Moon Island, where Darkrai and that one lady lived now. He had made adjustments to the water and general atmosphere in case of invaders.

"Darkrai, not now. We...need to get him...to Arceus..." Sin said, not really injured much now, but still in pain.

"Well, looks like your friend got affected by stabilizer chemicals. Though, this is a special brand, almost as if it was made for him to be the target..." Darkrai said cryptically, making the others think for a moment.

"Wait so..." Chris trailed off as one of Arceus' warning went through his head, 'Team Neo has been crafty as of late...'

"Damnit!" Chris outbursted, catching everyone else's attention.

"What's wrong Chris-kun?" Kora asked him, looking worried.

"Team Neo are getting prepared for us now..." Chris said vehemently, making the others gasp.

"But how would they know about what we can do that fast?" Kora said in a near whisper.

"Maybe...", Sin said, making the group look at him.

"What Sin?" Kuri asked him, Luke also looking questionably.

"They have been receiving intel on us from our Base Raids." Sin guessed, making sense to the others.

"Looks like we'll have to be careful with those now..." Chris said morosely.

"But that aside", Darkrai interrupted, "Sin, the way you are now won't last to Mt. Coronet. You need your energy."

"Where am I gonna get it?" Sin asked, skeptical from Darkrai's smirk.

"You know how to feed..." Darkrai replied, backing away from Seje's body. Sin caught the hint.

"No... I'll wait it out...I'm not feeding off of Seje!" Sin cried in defiance. Darkrai crossed his arms in amusement.

"Either that or die trying to find another source..." Darkrai said, leaving Sin with a hard decision.

'Do I do it? Or do I wait?... Damnit, this is hard...' Sin thought as Kora walked up to him.

"Don't do it Sin-kun." Kora begged Sin.

"[Sigh] I have to Kora. We go down one more team mate, who knows what'll happen to you guys?" Sin responded as he stood next to Seje.

"I'm pretty sure you know the procedure by now..." Darkrai said smugly, wanting to see Seje writhe in pain.

"Shut it; I'm going in his nightmare to ask for his consent." Sin said, getting his powers ready.

"Really? Asking? Who gives a shit about his opinion?" Darkrai said, snarkily.

"We do." everyone but Darkrai said, leaving the 'nay-sayer' alone in that vote.

"Fine. But if you don't come back, I'm doing it for you..." Darkrai said, turning away. Sin smiled through his mask and used what was left of his powers in Mental Processing Manipulation to go in Seje's mind...

Seje's Mind...

Sin had arrived in Seje's subconscious in a pop. He looked around at the atmosphere...

And nearly cringed as he realized that Seje's nightmare would do him something worth 10 favors.

The area Sin was in was desolate. There was blood lakes around and blood-red skies above. Trees were just stalks of wood sticking out of the ground. Any animals in sight were skeletons the more Sin looked. Sin had almost threw up when he saw the mutilated bodies of the Legendary Council behind him. It was the most disgusting thing he had ever seen. He looked away quickly, only to see a figure ahead of him, watching and waiting for something.

Sin walked towards the figure, grass blades red from past blood and fresh crimson liquid dew. When he reached the figure, the figure turned, confirming Sin's assumptions that it was Seje.

This Seje, however was crying without making any sobbing sounds, almost like...

"Every time..." Seje started, making Sin confused.

"Every time, what?" he asked him.

"Every time I fall asleep... I have a chance to experience imagination at its happiest... If not... it's always this Hell I must see." Seje deducted for him, making Sin think about how Seje acts now.

"I just don't want this to happen... I know why you're here..." Seje said vaguely, making Sin remember as well.

"I don't want to do it... unless you say so..." Sin said to Seje, the latter smiling sadly.

"It's okay... As along as you guys are able to get me to Arceus, take what you need..." Seje said, making Sin feel bad for what he was about to do.

"I'm sorry if you are scarred from what I'm about to do." Sin said, preparing the move he had to do.

"I said I'll be fine... I won't scream... I know that's why Darkrai wanted you to use me... I'm not giving him this victory..." Seje said, moving away.

"As long as you say so..." Sin trailed off as the siphoning began, the atmosphere being sucked into his hands, giving him massive amounts of energy.

Meanwhile outside, Sin's hands had growed bright white, his wounds and bruises fading away. Darkrai, seeing this, looked at Seje's face for a reaction, only to see him smirking. Words of the ethereal color appeared above his face that read:

"Not this time, 'shadow-thingy'..."

Darkrai was very tempted to Dark Pulse him to the face for that, but didn't want the process to stop...

Later...

Soon, the process was over, Sin feeling beyond refreshed. He flexed his fingers and arms, as they were stiff from standing. He looked at Seje's body, the blood leaking from his arm a tad more profusely.

"Alright, we need to move." Sin commanded, making the others look up.

"Wow, Sin-kun you look great!" Kora cheered energetically.

"Yeah...That nightmare was too graphic..." Sin trailed off, making the others hope that Seje makes it out Ok. Darkrai had sudddenly snapped, making the group disappear, leaving him on the island...

The Guardians And Kuri...

They had landed on the outskirts of Canalave City, the area where the chamber was. They got off the ground and looked around.(That unintentionally rhymed).

"Alright, should we risk going through the tunnels of the Underground or walk through the region?" Sin asked them. Chris and Luke wanted to walk through, while everyone else wanted to go through the Underground.

"Alright, let's go." Sin ordered, blasting the top of the cavern ceiling with his fresh new energy...

Seje...

"Maybe this is the way..." After having that revealing moment with Sin, Seje decided that he should leave and explore, that is until he came across an interesting landmark.

"This looks familiar, but I've never seen a garden like this..." Seje had commented as he walked into a zen garden of sorts. The place made any exotic place he's ever been look like a simple flower compared to this bouquet. As Seje looked around, he failed to notice the woman standing right behind him.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" the woman said, making Seje jump in surprise.

The woman in question looked kinda like Jun, except this woman wore an elegant kimono that covered all of her form. The kimono in question was a satin red with white trimming and a blue sash tied around her middle.

"It sure is... Though, I feel like I shouldn't be here..." Seje trailed off, making the woman mysteriously smile.

"Yes, you don't." she said, 'confirming' Seje's assumption that he should go.

"Alright, can you show me the way out?" he asked her, making the woman laugh.

"My my, I never met someone so eager to return to their lives so quickly." the woman commented, making Seje all-the-more confused.

"What do you mean?" he questioned.

"Well, you didn't let me finish. Yes, you don't belong here. Why, if you should be putting Team Neo in its place?" the lady of ethereal glowing said, making Seje even more confused.

"How do you know about Team Neo?" he askeed, making the lady of white, red, and blue chuckle.

"How can I NOT hear about them? They're almost as bad as Team Rocket." she said.

"Uh, lady? Team Rocket doesn't even exist anymore. Where would they be now?" Seje said, thinking about what she said.

"Oh, sorry. Thinking about another place in peril in a different time..." she trailed off as if thinking about something she missed.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Seje asked her, snapping the lady of red out of her stupor.

"Well... Maybe you can..." she said, closing her eyes.

"What can I do?" Seje hurriedly asked, wanting to do something rather than walking around his nightmare.

"There is something...I'll need to send you to a different world..." the lady of red said to him.

"Okay, what'll I do there?" he questioned, curious and anxious to go.

"Three children from a place not like ours were kidnapped by a group of Team Rocket grunts. Your task is not to save them, but to aid them in their inevitable escape." she explained, Seje nodding in understanding.

"I see... but won't I be hindered with my wound?" Seje inquired, holding up his 'injured' arm.

"What wound?" the lady questioned amusingly, making Seje look at her in wonder and curiousity.

"What do you me-?" Seje started, but he cut himself off as he observed his left arm, which was wound-less and had no blood on it.

"What the..." he trailed off, looking at the lady of red, who was smiling.

"Well, can't have you noticable when you go, can we?" she said, making Seje very happy.

"THANK YOU!" he said, hugging the lady of white. She hugged him back.

"You're very much welcome, child. Now, are you ready to go?" she asked him, he nodding the affirmative.

"Okay, be safe." she trailed off, Seje being surrounded by a white light. Before Seje could go however, he noticed something about the woman...

"Before I do this, can you answer this question I have for you?" he asked her.

"Of course." the lady of red said.

"Is your name Athena?" he asked after some thought, nearly gone.

"..." she didn't say anything, but she smiled and had a look in her eyes that said, 'What do you think?'. Seje didn't have time to dwell as he left the garden...

The Guardians And Kuri...

"Okay, Chris give me a lift." Sin requested as they came across yet another recently dug tunnel that was above them. They had been traversing the abandoned tunnel system for about an hour, occasionally stopping for the situation they were in now. No one asked about the Steelix.

"Alright." Chris replied, cracking his knuckles and neck. He stood under the tunnel entrance, ready to launch Sin upwards. Said Assassin had backed up for a running start. Sin waited a few moments before taking off at a fast pace, shadow trailing behind him. When he reached Chris, he stuck his foot out to his cupped hands. Chris reared back, throwing Sin up to the tunnel ledge above them. He was barely able to grab a suitable hand-hold as he climbed up.

"Okay", he started, finished climbing and looking down at them," Everyone, step into the shadow." The shadow trailing behind Sin before he jumped was present in front of Chris, who had stepped inside the shadow and appeared behind Sin in his shadow.

"I hate this." Kuri commented as she went into the shadow, appearing next to Chris.

"Don't...", Kora started, stepping into the shadow, appearing behind Chris and Kuri,"...worry! I'm sure we'll stop doing this soon!"

"If you say so..." Kuri trailed off as Luke came up, thus restarting their trek...

Seje...

"This is by far the most depressing atmosphere I've ever felt... Probably shouldn'ta asked Mespirit for Apathy lessons..." Seje commented as he looked at the interior of the Base where the kids were. So far, he had seen the occasional Team Rocket guard or grunt walk past, but Seje didn't have to worry as he was on a catwalk, hidden behind some boxes.

"The one time I get stuck in a form, it's this one..." he commented, looking at his red dress, that blended in with the black around him like a chameleon. Seje sighed as he watched for a clear coast before using his Hookshot to travel to the other side of the building he was in. The Hookshot sent out a grappling hook that flew silently, thanks to some modifications from the Moonstones he received, to the wall on the opposite wall. The hook latched itself inside the wall, securing itself as well. Seje clicked the trigger and he retracted towrds the hook, making sure he wasn't seen by anyone.

Seje front-flipped before the line ended and retracted the hook into place. From his new position, he was able to see the kids that 'Athena' mentioned. There was two boys and a girl piled on each other in a truck bed. There was what appeared to be an overgrown Raticate that looked bipedal near them.

"Okay, that Raticate is on drugs." Seje quietly commented as he looked at them. The girl shifted, making a shadow that Seje had not been paying attention to shift into a man wearing a suit. He looked important.

"Excuse me", the shadow man quietly called to Seje, making him look up to see who had noticed him up there," But may I ask what you are doing here?"

"I was sent by a woman to aid these kids in their escape. But when she did not mention..." Seje said in his 'A-6' voice so the man couldn't tell the difference. He noticed anyway.

"I know who you are already. There's no point in hiding your true form." the shadow man said, making Seje cringe.

"Yeah, but I'm not the only one here hiding something..." Seje commented, making the man look at him in interest and a glint of something else.

"Oh? Care to elaborate on how I may be hiding something?" the man of shadows said, looking at Seje with a raised eyebrow.

"I know what you really are. And might I say, you are worthy of mental scarring at first glance." Seje said in a humble tone.

"How did you know?" the shadow man said, shocked at Seje's deduction.

"Because your aura looks funny." As it was true as in his 'A-6' form, he has remnants of the other's powers, mainly seeing things that people can't normally see and feeling the general atmosphere like an Empathic.

"My aura looks funny? I wasn't aware that an energy wave could look amusing to you." the shadow man said, a hint of agitation in his voice as he spoke.

"Okay okay, jeez. No need to get your panties in a bunch..." Seje trailed off, making the shadow man look at him again in curiousity.

"I don't wear women's undergarments. I do hope that you can refrain from such vulgar imaging." he said.

"You don't really get humor at your age, do you?" Seje commented...

The Guardians And Kuri...

"Are we there yet?" Kuri asked for the umpteenth time, getting on everyone's nerves including Kora, who was rarely irritated.

"No." Sin curtly replied, a little harsh as Kuri looked hurt by his tone.

"What'd I do?" she said, making the others pinch the bridge of their noses in exasperation.

"You've been asking if we were there for the past 10 minutes." Chris said.

"Well sorry! I am bored, you know!" Kuri said, making everyone groan.

"Come on Onii-san, could you please not say anything for at least another 5 minutes? My eardrums hurt." Kora said to her sister, who felt guilty for making her sister like this.

"Okay Kora; I'll do it for you..." And like that, Kuri shut her mouth, much to the hidden relief of the others. Soon, the hole that the others had fallen through was above them. There was a problem though...

"HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO GET UP THERE?!" Kuri said out loud, making the others anime-fall to the ground, much to Kuri's confusion.

"What'd I miss?" she asked them as the got up...

Seje...

"I still say you are in a moderner age where humor is apart of everyday life. Wherever you came from was boring. Period, point, blank." Seje said to the shadow man, said person having a look of irritation on his face.

"Look, can we just-?" But the man was cut off as some guards came in the big room, shutting the duo up.

"The guards walked in, heading towards the kids. The shadow man looked like he was gonna do something, so Seje watched. The guards came in close, the man next to Seje getting ready to pounce down, but Seje stopped him.

"Wait." he said, making the man look at him in evident impatience.

"With the current mood I have thanks to you, I'd advise you to let go of me." The man said darkly.

"Well, I'd advice you to do this quietly." Seje replied, handing the shadow man a set of keys.

"What are these for?" the man irritably asked Seje.

"Handcuffs. And I left something for the nerd." Seje said smirking, pulling out his Hookshot.

"Oh?" The shadow man peeked up at that.

"Ahbupbup, no spoilers." Seje said, and with that he zoomed off to a door in the wall, that led to a ventilation system. Seje immediately went through the vent grate, crawling with haste.

Soon, he reached his destination, a storage room. He kicked in the vent door and went inside. There was a bunch of stuff here that looked like it would belong to someone not apart of Team Rocket. And a LOT of guns. Seje immediately went to the door and knocked on it to see if there was guards out front. He hid when he saw a face appear in the peek-through window...

The Guardians And Kuri...

"Almost there..." Sin said as they climbed up the REALLY big hole. They had been climbing for what seemed like a half hour, some of them nearly falling off the hand-holds barely provided.

"Got it." Sin said, reaching the top finally, sweating bullets and what-not as he pulled himself up. He dusted himself off and looked behind him. Chris was almsot there, with Kora and Kuri paired up. Luke was climbing without emotion, not even looking tired as he passed Chris on the way up. Sin already knew what he was thinking about...

"Come on Luke...You can't keep worrying about Seje...He'll be fine." Sin stated, panting as he watched the Electivire climb over the edge and sit down.

'How can I stop? It's my fault he's even like that...' Luke deadpanned, sounding dead inside. Sin came up to him and held his shoulder.

"You need to stop blaming yourself for things that were out of your control." Sin started, making Luke look at him with puffy eyes.

'But what else can I think about? Seje's the only thing on my mind. It's madness...' Luke responded, looking at the others make it to the top.

"Just think about your future. We're almost there, so you can start planning on what to do with Seje when we get back to the Hall." Sin said, before a group of Team Neo grunts sprung out the bushes.

"Drop your weapons and put your hands up!" One of the grunts ordered, holding a gun. Luke and Kuri had paled as the grunts revealed to only be carrying firearms.

"Look, we're in a hurry. So if you could please get out of the way?" Sin said in a fake calm voice, hiding his true intentions.

"How about 'get on the fucking ground with your hands up'?" Another grunt said, pointing his assault rifle at Sin. It was there when the grunts realized where they recognize Sin from.

"It's the Assassin! Kill him!" the others panicked as they saw the Team Neo grunts get ready to shoot. Kora was nearly ready to barrier Sin when something happened.

Seje, who had been in a pocket dimension from Sin's doing, popped outta nowhere. He was still unconscious. However, he got up and immediately shot all of the grunts in their head in an instant. The Guardians were shocked at Seje's sudden appearance, moreso when he went back into the pocket dimension.

"Okay...Anyone that thinks that was illogical, raise your hand." A shocked Sin said to the others, who had all raised their hands in response...

Seje...

"That's why you don't think with that head..." Seje said to the dead guards in the storage room. There had been the usual two guards at the door who had came in to see 'him' in the doorway. The idiots had believed they could get some stress relief from Seje so they put their guns up and head for 'him'.

But then, that's what you get for thinking with your dick.

"Alright now..." 'he' trailed off again, looking for the girl from earlier's clothes. Finding them, he put a necklace alongside her Pokebelt. Doing so led to the discovery of another Pokebelt, this one full of Pokeballs. Seje had read the name engraved in it, the name 'Matt' shown on the inside of the belt, and put a ring on the magnet that kept one of the Pokeballs in place.

"Alright, one last thing..." Seje had prepared this next part specially. He had hoped the shadow man would find it soon and recognize what it does. Seje had shot up to the ventilation shaft and crawled through the vents, looking for the exit.

Meanwhile, the kids from earlier had been revived by the shadow man, who had knocked out the guards without alerting anyone.

"Lawrence, is that you?" the girl said, rubbing her eyes before she embraced the shadow man.

"Yes, Mistress. It is me." the shadow man, now identified as Lawrence, said soothingly to the girl.

"Lawrence, what's going on?" a nerdy-looking boy said to Lawrence.

"I am getting you out of here, Otto. I do hope that-." Lawrence was cut off as he shifted and felt something in his back pants pocket. When he pulled out the intrusive object, it was revealed to be a touch screen of sortas. Lawrence touched the screen and out popped the 'woman' from earlier in holograph form, making the others pay attention as the holgram spoke.

'If you're hearing this and you believe that Team Rocket will control all, please select yes. If not, then push no.' Lawrence immediately tapped the 'No' icon, making the hologram come back with a smile.

'Thank you, I needed that precaution to avoid giving crucial info. Now, the way out is simple; head to these coordiantes.' the boy in army fatigues was about to object, but the hologram continued.

'But, if you have some important items or things, head to these coordinates first.' A digital map of their current location was displayed from the screen. The coordinates were shown as red dots and they were green dots. Enemy targets were black dots.

'Any other questions will have to wait; I'll be waiting at the exit coordinates.' And with that, the hologram went off, but not before adding one final note.

'One last thing... Lawrence, don't tell Rachel who I really am.' The hologram went off for good when she said that, making the girl, who was presumed Rachel, looked appalled.

"The hell's that's supposed to mean?" she said to Lawrence.

"That woman doesn't look like she can be trusted." The nerdy boy, Otto, said.

"Well", Lawrence started," She went out of her way just get me a key. Who's to say she can't be trusted if she's to help us?"

"And how do you know that?" the nerdy boy questioned skeptically.

"She told me she was here to help." Lawrence replied, wondering himself if said woman can be trusted.

"Well", the army fatigue boy started," I for one am getting outta here, trusted or not. If she can get us outta here so we can get to Bill's, why should we deny help?" As he said this, the outside of the base was being infiltrated by a burly man and another who was feminine-looking. They were making sure to keep outta sight when the need arised. Anyone from Team Rocket they encountered were dealt with quickly.

"So, our friends are in there Darrell?" the feminine-looking one asked quietly as they crouched behind a container.

"Yes Doug. I'm sure of it." the burly man, now known as Darrell, replied as they moved to hide behind another container.

"But I'm still confused. How do you know?" the one known as Doug asked again as they kept it moving.

"I knew from a weird dream I had." was Darrell's reply as they neared the front doors, being guarded by a LOT of Team Rocket grunts and what-not.

"And how are we supposed to rescue them if there's no way in?" Doug asked, worried that they may have come to a dead end.

"Simple. We rush in." Darrell said, readying a 9mm. pistol. He was about to get up, much to Doug's disapproval, when all of the grunts outside the door fell subject to a stream of bullets. The confused duo looked around for the shooter, eyes eventually coming to rest on a woman in red, holding a smoking machine pistol.

"You might wanna hurry in; this won't go unnoticed." With that note said, the woman turned to the inside of the building, disappearing from the duo's sight...

Meanwhile the other group had ran through the halls, running into dead bodies amongst other things.

"Looks like the woman from earlier was busy." Lawrence commented, looking at the massacre the 'woman' left in her wake. The group had finally reached the storage room coordinates, where they found the door open and two Team Rocket grunts on the floor dead with their pants down and shafts cut off.

"Either they were gonna get tortured or they were planning on laying a woman." the nerdy boy commented, making Lawrence think.

"Maybe that female from earlier is the cause of this." he said, making Rachel turn to him.

"Why is this woman so interesting to you?" she said with a hint of agitation and another emotion.

"She is a mystery; a mystery that needs to be solved for one's benefit, Mistress. I'm sorry if I am causing discomfort to you by mentioning her." Lawrence told Rachel, who felt a little bit better.

"Whoever she is, she's doing her job well!" the bipedal Raticate said, the others nodding their agreement. They soon saw what was in the storage room.

It was filled to the brim with weaponry and equipment of the artificial persuasion. The walls were litterd with A.R's, LMG's, SMG's, and magnums for anyone's use. In the middle of the room on a convenient table was their belongings. They quickly scrambled for them, each one making sure everything was there. When the army fatigue boy and Rachel went for their Trainer Belts, they saw a ring and pendant respectively for each of them. Rachel picked up her pendant and the engravings on the chain said:

'To the Guard of Destiny's Sword. Use this wisely...'

Rachel shrugged and put it on while army fatigue boy grabbed the Trainer belt with 'Matt' engraved in the belt, confirming his identity as Matt as he read the ring on one of the Pokeball magnets. It read:

'To the Blade of Destiny's Sword. Deal The Finishing Blow To Those Who Commit Acts Of Sin...'

Matt put the ring on as the others were leaving out the door already. After they ran through the hallways, they found the exit, a double door that was being surrounded by guards as an alarm went off, drawing more to the location.

"We're not gonna make it!" the nerdy boy Otto said, stopping his stride for strife.

"No shit, Sherlock!" Rachel yelled, looking at the seemingly hopeless struggle to escape as they were surrounded.

"Put your hands up!" a grunt shouted at them, the group complying. But then...

"I would prefer they keep their heads down..." a calm female voice said, Lawrence recognizing it immediately. They looked up for the voice, only to get on the ground as bullets went off from seemingly nowhere. Even though the bullets came dangerously close to them, none of the innocent were shot down. When the bullet shower ended, the group immediately got up and looked around.

The grunts and guards that had showed up were all dead, and the front door opened to reveal Darrell and Doug, who had came in to see what was going on.

"Doug?!" Otto called as he recognized the newcomers.

"Darrell?" Rachel and Matt said together. Lawrence nearly crying out his surprise at their arrival. But the reunion was temporarily interrupted...

"I hate to interrupt", the voice from earlier said, making the group look and lock-on to a woman in a red dress, wearing a magazine strap around her shoulders, making her breasts stick out. Rachel noticed it and looked at ther own chest, groaning in envy. The woman's dress ended at her ankles, where she wore red high heels. A lime-green and tan pistol was adorned on her thigh with a hook sticking out of it," But you do need to get moving. More will be here soon."

"Who are you?" Rachel demanded, making the woman smirk.

"Not from here. And I won't be after." she replied.

"Why not?" Otto, the nerdly-nerd asked.

"Because, I have to be somewhere. My contact needs some more help and this was my only debt of service to you." she said to them, back turned to them.

"But..." But Otto was cut off from talking with a raised hand.

"See you around." And with that, the woman in red disappeared from view by shooting her pistol at the wall near a window, zipping after the hook that was shot outta it and going out the window before anyone could call her back...

The Guardians and Kuri...

They were near the top of the mountain's interior, heading for the 'entrance' to Spear Pillar, when they were ambushed by a large group of Team Neo grunts.
