Timler Chronor's Journal

Story by Niniju on SoFurry

Timler Chronor is a white bear. He isn't a polar bear, but his fur is bleach white. Even the shade can't darken his fur's color. His irises are electric blue and his left pupil is almost white. In fact, his left body has multiple abnormalities. The back of his left paw has an hourglass marking in black fur, and his paw pads on his left side are light blue. He has other hidden markings that don't show unless he's using his power. His power, by the way, is time travel. He has the ability to freeze and rewind time for short periods, and he is unaffected. Everyone else around him is slightly aware of it, but usually dismiss it as déjà vu. The closer another living being is to him as he uses the power, the more aware they are of its happening.   Timler's personality is strange, and would require a bit of explaining. He is technically extremely bipolar, but has trouble expressing himself during mood swings, so he's become an almost emotionless drone with strange tendencies. Under certain circumstances, his true nature might appear, but until then he's very hard to read.   Here are his journals.   Year 40XX, Month 6, Week 2, Day 1Just a normal day avoiding them. I can't really complain. I mean, when you're known for being link to serious cases of mass hysteria, and you aren't affected, people notice.Number of lives saved: 3Number of unpreventable deaths: Too damn manyNumber of deaths I let happen: Maybe around 10 (Regrettably, humans don't like being talked down from suicide by anthros, and others are authoritive figures whose deaths benefit me more than their being alive.)The first two were typical suicides, but the two people involved couldn't be more different. I was able to talk the first one down. Mentioned that he wouldn't be smiled down upon by God if he jumped. Good thing most anthros retreated into the Christian religion because of its overwhelming benevolence towards the oppressed.Second one could only be prevented if I caught him mid-jump. A similar unpreventable death was like this, but it got to dangerous for me to prevent his death. It wasn't suicide, but an accident. Must've just been his time. He was also human. Strange thing is, most anthro deaths are preventable, and most human ones aren't. Even if it's suicide. How long the day was: 24 HoursHow much time passed on my watch: 3 Years, 7 Days, 20 HoursI'm glad time traveling doesn't cause me to age during a time freeze, but my watch telling me how much time I spend in the past is nice.   Year 40XX, Month 6, Week 2, Day 2They almost caught me today. I froze time to give me some room to disappear. Found some suspicious activity. Looking into it.Number of lives saved: 4Number of unpreventable deaths: Every other oneNumber of deaths I let happen: 0 (Humans were being particularly nice to me today)Two suicides that were talked down.

Two murders prevented. How long the day was: 24 hoursHow much time passed in my eyes: 4 years, 3 days, 2 hours, 30 minutesI figured out that I don't need sleep in a normal sense. So long as I fall asleep during the night, my health is unaffected.New series of notes. How long I can freeze time in one go: 5 minutes my timeHow far I can rewind time at once: 10 minutesNew time tricks I discovered: I can maintain my momentum while freezing time to essentially "float" through the air in a linear path. I am not affected at all by other forces, but walls hurt immensely.   Year 40XX, Month 6, Week 2, Day 3They're getting better at finding me. Am I too predictable?Suspicious activity continues. I'm becoming attached to a certain panther's family. Where have I seen him before?.Number of lives saved: 100Number of unpreventable deaths: None that I could findNumber of deaths I allowed: 1The universe was being pretty nice to me. The only death I allowed was someone that would just commit suicide the next day. At least this way it wouldn't be his choice. How long the day was: 24 hoursHow long I spent between the seconds: 3 days, 2 hoursMost of the time spent time distorting was to debate the death of the one I allowed. He wasn't happy, I could tell. How long I can freeze time in one go: 10 minutesHow far I can rewind: 1 hourMy abilities are improving exponentially. The universe is preparing me for...something. What am I to expect? More death? A life I can't protect? But I'm use to that. Only time will tell the story of what awaits me.And I know that more than anyone.New abilities: I can bring someone back in time with me if I sacrifice half the time I'm allowed. I can also fast forward now, but it works like a redo button: I can only go as far as the I've already lived. My age may not appear to change throughout the temporal mists, but my mind is spending itself quickly. That's what I've called the strange blue mist that accompanies time travel. I still don't completely grasp my power, but the timeline is fine.   Year 40XX, Month 6, Week 2, Day 4It's happened. I've found what I've been preparing for. And I failed.Number of lives saved: 0Number of unpreventable deaths: 1Number of deaths I allowed: Every other death todayThe unpreventable death was the death of that Panther's brother. I tried everything. I pushed my ability to its most lethal limits, I tried to take him with me. The best thing I could do was let him die in such a way that the older one had some closure. How long the day was: 24 hoursHow long it was to me: 500 yearsMy mind is spent. I need someone to make me feel and think young again. I'm also dehydrated from all the crying I did today. I was attached to that cub and I don't

know why.How long I can freeze time: 100 yearsHow far I can rewind without a passenger: 3000 yearsThe handicap for having a passenger: 100 years plus an additional 100 years per passengerNew abilities: I have yet to explain this, but I can freeze myself in time for an exact amount of time, effectively removing myself from existence while I watch what happens. I can't think of any usefulness in it yet.I'm not going to have a journal for a while. I'm taking a break completely from life really. My mind is tired, and I need rest...   "How was it so easy to find him?" One said to another.   Another said, "He was asleep in an abandoned building. He'd obviously been crying, a lot, and he seemed mentally spent."   "I hope he can get his s--- together for the arena. We can't have three emotionally crippled players. We have to at least reduce that number by one."   "He shuts out his emotions, you know. Give him this."   "Excuse me?"   Another sighed, "Nothing."   "That's what I thought, soldier. Now show me the next one."   I heard them walk away, and I brought myself out of my temporal trance. This ability, I must say, has its uses...
