Burying the Magic Bone

Derby's Used Book Store wasn't the greatest place to work, but at least it paid the bills. Gilbert's boss, Mr. Malcolm Derby himself, had left early that day - supposedly to go to an estate auction where some rare books were being sold. Gilbert had his doubts about that; it was far more likely that Mr. Derby had skipped work to go to the bar, leaving him to sort through the new arrivals by himself.

Humming along to the radio station which played over the store's speakers, Gilbert grabbed a box at random and opened it. It seemed to be a compilation of cookbooks and diet books. He picked out a recipe book he thought his wife might enjoy and set it aside. He would reimburse his employer later, of course - Gilbert wasn't the type of employee to steal things from work.

Opening the next box, the man frowned. Derby's didn't have a market for these sorts of things, so why had a package of occult-related books been delivered to the store? Gilbert looked at the return label. No, it wasn't a mistake - the package was addressed to Derby's Used Book Store. With a sigh, Gilbert began to sort through the books, making a mental note to ask his employer about the delivery when he returned.

Most of the books were fairly standard - title, author, cover art. It was only when he reached the bottom of the box that Gilbert discovered something that wasn't quite the norm. The book itself appeared to have been bound in leather - real leather, not the fake kind that was making itself known in the fashion world today. It was in good condition despite its apparent age, but it had neither writing nor art on the cover to distinguish it. He opened the cover, thinking that perhaps the information he was looking for would be on the copyright page, but there was no such page. The book simply started.

It was a curious thing, this book. Most of it seemed to be written in a language that Gilbert couldn't comprehend. He flipped through the pages idly, gazing at the amazingly lifelike sketches of plants, animals, and even mythical creatures contained within the pages. As he grew closer to the end of the book, the language changed from incomprehensible to Olde Englishe. Gilbert cursed his inability to read the text as he scanned the pages. Even in school, when his classes had read Shakespeare, he had had to find a translation of the text into modern English in order to understand anything being said.

Thankfully the twelve words on the last page of the book were easy to comprehend, though he didn't fully understand what they meant. "What was two, now is one. Three by three, so must it be." Gilbert wasn't completely sure what the "three by three" bit had to do with anything, but he guessed that threes must have been important to the people who wrote the book. Below the words were three separate drawings. The first appeared to be that of a plain horse, the second that of a bird. The final drawing - which thoroughly convinced Gilbert that the book was some kind of grimoire - showed the two creatures being merged into a pegasus.

He only looked up from the book when the bell at the shop's entrance tinkled. "Hey, Gil. What'cha got there?" his boss, Mr. Derby, said amicably. Gilbert fought the urge to grit his teeth; no one save Malcolm Derby called him Gil, not even his own wife, and it annoyed him to no end that the man insisted on calling him a name he hated.

"I think it's a spell book," he replied, holding up the book in question. "It came in some sort of occult book shipment. You didn't happen to order any of those, did you?"

It was Derby's turn to frown. "No. Are you sure it had the right address?"

"It was addressed to the store."

Mr. Derby came over to study the label. "So it is. I'll call the shipping company tomorrow and see if there's been some kind of mix-up. In the meantime, get the rest of these boxes sorted before you leave." The other man clapped Gilbert on the shoulder before heading to the front of the store to deal with the customers.

Others might have called Gilbert's filing system intricate, but to him it was simply what seemed best. He carefully sorted the books by author, and within that category by title. By the time he was done shelving the arrivals, it was past closing. He turned his gaze back to the table and realized that he'd left the grimoire sitting next to the cookbook. Well... it's not like it has a title or anything, so it has to be rare. Maybe this one was sent here intentionally - if not for the writing, then for the drawings. Gilbert found himself picking it up and tucking it under one arm along with the cookbook. Maybe Natasha could use it for inspiration. His wife was an aspiring artist, and quite a good one. Many of her paintings lined the walls of their home.

Before he left the shop he tucked a couple ten dollar bills beneath the cash register along with a note explaining where the books had gone.

When Gilbert got home he found, to his utter annoyance, that the neighbor's dog had once more been leashed outside and was barking up a storm. "Be quiet, you," he muttered to the snarling Dalmatian. He had few hopes that the owner would come outside and quiet Rudy - he had never done so before, and would not likely start now.

"Natasha, I'm home," Gilbert called as he stepped through the doorway. The house smelled nice - he could tell that his wife had done some baking earlier in the day.

"Gilbert? What took you so long?" His wife's head poked around the top of the stairwell. Tall, brunette, and buxom, he could hardly believe that a woman as beautiful as she had settled for a man like himself.

"I got held up at work," the man replied as he placed his keys in a small blue bowl on a table near the entrance. "We received a wrong shipment today, some sort of occult books. I brought one home for you. It has amazing sketches in it that I thought you could paint."

"But won't you get in trouble for that, darling?" Natasha's voice floated down the stairs as her head disappeared from view.

"I doubt it. The book doesn't have a title or an author listed, not even a copyright page. And most of it is written in some sort of archaic language anyway."

Immediately his wife hurried down the stairs, wrapping a silken robe around her toned body. "Let me see that," she insisted as she held out her hands. A bit confused, Gilbert handed her the book. Natasha flipped through the first few pages, and he watched as excitement and trepidation warred on her face. "This is written in Latin, Gilbert," she said in a low whisper. "This... this is the real deal. A real grimoire."

"There's no such thing as magic," he insisted, but despite his protestations, Natasha simply reiterated her statement. "Fine, you win. Where's Charlie?"

At the sound of their cocker spaniel's name, his wife's expression soured. "I had to bring her into the house. That damn mutt next door already got her pregnant. We don't need him doing any more damage."

Gilbert sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I wish the Washburns would take that thing inside. Or better yet, neuter him." The Dalmatian was well-known throughout the neighborhood for humping any postman that tried to deliver his mail.

Natasha's brow furrowed as she thought. "What if there's a spell in the book that could do the job for us?" she pondered aloud.

"Magic isn't real," he reminded her, but remembering the merging spell he took the book from her. "There's a spell in here that's supposed to fuse two things together."

An evil - yet eerily adorable - gleam entered her eyes. "We can use it to merge that bitch's balls to his yappy little mouth." That said, she headed for the door, beckoning for Gilbert to follow her.

Once outside, Gilbert turned the book to the final page. "This isn't going to work," he muttered under his breath, but nevertheless he read the spell aloud. "What was two, now is one. Three by three, so must it be." Before his eyes the barking and snarling Dalmatian seemed to shimmer in the evening light.

It was at that moment Natasha sneezed. Out of reflex, Gilbert turned to her, saying, "Gesundheit." Uh-oh. He had gone from concentrating on Rudy to concentrating on his wife, and now she was giving off the same shimmering effect, as if viewed through a summer heat wave.

The changes started with fur. It grew in quickly before Gilbert's astonished eyes. It had much the same pattern as... wait a second. The man glanced over to the Dalmatian next door only to be shocked when he saw that it now had no fur. Even as he watched the creature's muzzle began to shrink until its head looked almost humanoid. In contrast, his wife's nose and mouth began to extend into a snout of her own.

"Wwwhafft's goin' oooonn?" Natasha asked fearfully, struggling to form the words. Her ears began to flatten and extend, shifting upwards on her skull so that they sat nearly on top of her head. At the same time Gilbert could see a wagging bulge appear at the back of her robe. Looking over at the dog, the man had to stifle a laugh despite the oddity of the situation. Rudy, flat face and all, was turning in circles, trying to figure out just where his ears and tail had gone.

"I'm fairly certain you're turning into a dog," he said as seriously as he could manage.

"A doooowwwwrrrg?!" Natasha looked panicked, which was somehow adorable on her new canine face. The next thing to come out of her mouth was not another question, but a high-pitched whine. Her hand - paw, rather - fumbled at her crotch, where Gilbert could see a large tent appear in the front of her robe. "Oooohhhh. This feels goowwrrd," his dog-wife moaned. She slowly shrugged off her robe, giving him a good view of the bright red dog-cock that had grown between her legs.

Natasha-Rudy reached down with a paw, slowly jerking herself off. Her tail was wagging furiously at the new sensations. "Wwant to trrry this 'puppy' out, husband of mine?" she asked, striking a seductive pose.

Despite the strangeness of it all, Gilbert could feel himself getting hard. He spared a glance over to the Washburns' yard, where the Dalmatian had disappeared. The only thing left was his collar and leash. "Let's go inside first," he urged.

Once back inside the house, away from prying eyes, the man set the book to the side and began to unbutton his pants. "Is my puppy ready for her bone?" Gilbert teased light-heartedly.

His wife chuckled, a strange noise coming from her transformed body. There was a feral look in her eyes. "Whrrooo said I was the one getting the bone?"

Gilbert could feel the blood leave his cheeks. His hole had been a virgin for his entire life, and he intended to keep it that way. "Natasha," he said nervously, unconsciously holding his hands out in the "down, dog" position, "let's just think about this."

"I have thought about this," she growled, suddenly seeming menacing. "And I've decided I wwant toooo burrrry my bone in that sweet little ass of yooourrrrs." The horny hybrid that had once been his devoted wife began to advance on him.

He couldn't help it - he made a run for it. He took the stairs two at a time, nearly tripping in his haste to get away. He could hear Natasha behind him, huffing in excitement as she chased her husband. Gilbert made it to the bedroom, where he could see his wife bounding down the hall after him on all fours. Hurriedly he tried to close the door.

It was too late. Natasha had wrapped a paw around the doorframe, preventing him from locking her out. There was nowhere to go. Gilbert sunk down onto the bed, defeated, as she posed over him triumphantly. "Now for the fun part," she crowed eagerly. Already Gilbert could see the knot forming at the base of her shaft in her excitement, and he cringed at the thought of what it would feel like to have that thing shoved inside him.

He didn't need to wait long to find out. Natasha quickly rolled him over onto his stomach, stripping him of both pants and underwear. She positioned herself over him like a dog mating his bitch. Gilbert had to suppress a shiver when he realized that's exactly what he'd become. "Brrrace yooourrrself, my darrrling," she whispered into his ear before biting down on the nape of his neck possessively.

The first thrust hit home. Gilbert couldn't help but let out a yell of pain - she had gone in dry, after all. The sound seemed to excite his wife, and her humping began to increase in pace. The torment was like nothing he'd ever experienced. It was like a hot fire brand was being shoved up his ass, and it only got worse with each push.

"Ooohhh, soooo tight," moaned Natasha, easing up on her grip a little in order to speak. She reached between Gilbert's legs with one paw in order to jack him off, only to find him as soft as a pillow. "Guess yooou'rrre not as into this as I am." She giggled, a nightmarish sound, before returning her teeth to their former position.

Gilbert had no idea how long it went on. It felt like an eternity. When Natasha's newly-grown knot entered his tight tunnel, he nearly passed out from shock. She kept pumping for several more minutes before releasing herself deep inside of him. "Mmmm, nice," she mumbled, snuggling on top of him and closing her eyes. Gilbert felt several hot tears leak out of his own as he realized what just happened: he was raped by his own wife.

Once the knot had subsided, Gilbert wriggled his way out from beneath his sleeping wife, grimacing as he felt the whitish fluid ooze out of his strained pucker. There was no time to clean up just yet. He had to find a way to reverse this. He needed the grimoire.

Painfully making his way down the stairs, he shuffled to where he had laid the book. Perhaps the same spell that had done this to his wife would be able to undo it. But when Gilbert flipped to the final page, there was nothing there. It was as if the spell had vanished. Frustrated, he flipped through the pages until he found a spell in Shakespearean English that seemed to be able to reverse the effects.

As quickly as he could, he limped back up the stairs to the bedroom. Standing over Natasha, he held the book open and began to read the words. "What once was is once again; one to two and two to one. Three by three, so wilt it be." Nothing happened for a minute, but soon he noticed that both he and Natasha had begun to shimmer.

That was when he heard a bark at his feet. Looking down, he saw the little golden cocker spaniel that the former Rudy had been so fond of. And with a sinking stomach, he realized that Charlie was also glowing.

If anything the transformation took less time than the last. And once it was finished, Gilbert, with his new fur coat and wagging tail, proudly stood over his mate and the litter of pups she carried.
