One Chance Part 1

A store alarm sounds as three young men rush through the door rushing down the street as the store owner runs out yelling and pointing as the three rush around the corner shortly followed by the sounds of police sirens. Two of them make it into an alley as two police cars turn the corner and spot the last one who stop and head into the near by apartment building. He rushes up the stairs as two police officers rush in a few second behind him. He makes it to an empty hallway as a petite person walks out of their room. He nervously rushes tackling the person back into the room and slams the door shut. As he sighs hearing the cops go past the door he looks back at the sneering muzzle of the petite husky. He pulls back his hood revealing his messed up fur and pierced ears. He quickly realizes the situation and opens the door but instantly stops when he sees the two police officers searching the building still. He shuts the door and turns around as the husky walks up to him and pins him to the door.
"Now what is stopping me from turning you into the police, I know you skinny foxes are in high demand in the slammer." The husky says playfully laying one finger on his muzzle. "Listen lady I have nothing, trust me!" He says terrified. He flinches as they hear a knock on the door as she moves him over to the side of the door. She opens the door as one of officers asks, "Chief... we were looking for a suspect on the run, have you seen anyone suspicious?"
"No nothing out if the ordinary." She says as the young fox slides slowly down at the wall at the realization of his captures real identity She closes the door and walks in front of him.
"So what are you going to do to me?" He says burying his face into his hands. "Nothing, I know you don't have any stolen property, you're not a hardened criminal either, why turn in a person who is suffering from bad circumstances, if you want a new beginning come to the police office tomorrow after seven," She says grabbing her bag off the ground and walks towards the door, "now get out of my apartment before I get butch a few doors down to throw you out."
He quickly stands up and walks out of the room feeling a mixture of relief and depression. He walks out off the building contemplating taking her up on her offer. As he gets to a alleyway the two other people who were with him comes out and joins him cheerfully. "Hey man we did it, we can finally pay the rent for a months." One of them says holding up a stuffed backpack.
"Yeah... at least we can sleep inside tonight." He says as they walk across the street. They walk into a huge broke down complex and are greeted by two little kids. "Hey big brother can we finally go back to the room?" One of them asks as they both look up at him with eyes of wonder. He nods as the two go crazy in enjoyment. The other guy walks over to the desk and hands the lady a some of the money as they all walk up some stairs. They finally make it to their room as the two kids run in cheering.
"Hey I'm going to buy some food, Vince make sure Jay gets some sleep, he doesn't look to good." The third guy says walking out the room. "Hey Jayden, what happened?" Vince says as Jayden falls onto the bed. "Don't tell Mark but I almost got busted, I panicked and tackled some random girl into their room, turned out to be a chief in the police, she didn't turn me in but told me to meet her at the department tomorrow after seven, I don't know what to do." He says sighing as the two kids jump onto the bed with him.
"Its up to you, if she can get you three out of here that's good, but if she double crosses you we all end up in the slammer and they end up..." He stops as Jayden gives him a stern glare. "Just sleep it over I'll watch the kid tomorrow and mark is going up town to try to talk his grandma into letting him stay again. Jayden nods and shuts his eyes and falls asleep.
