The tournament began, Shimmer looking around. She already had a strategy to get this done as quickly as possible. She quickly found the closest opponent, going over and hiding in a bush near them, watching their every move. Her first target was a Houndoom in a purple blazer. He was doing well, quickly winning his first duel, Shimmer paying attention to his deck. Once she felt she had a good understanding, she goes out of the bush.

Shimmer: Hey, let's duel.

The male looks over, smiling.

Houndoom: Oh...hello there. Did you want to duel? How many Crest Pieces do you have? Shimmer: That is of no matter. We'll duel for everything we have.

He raises his eyebrows at that though, as it seemed Shimmer was hiding her's.

Houndoom: Um....I'm sorry, but you know the rules, and so do I. How many do you have? Shimmer: We'll bet all we have. How's about I sweeten the deal a bit then?

She pulls out a few Poke notes, about 5000.

Shimmer: You win, you get all my Crest Pieces and the money. I win, all you lose are your Crest Pieces. Houndoom: Hm....alright, let's go for it then. I'm Xross, by the way.

The two step to the sides, prepping for the duel. The randomizer spins, landing on Xross taking the first move.

Xross: Alright, let's begin. I'll start things off by setting one monster, as well as two facedowns.

Shimmer: My move. I start off with the Field Spell Madolche Chateau.

The spell is slotted in, but suddenly, a massive windstorm blows it away.

Shimmer: Let me guess...Mystical Space Typhoon?

The spell was on Xross's field, as he smiles.

Xross: Heh, I know those things already. Not letting it-

Shimmer: I activate another one.

The castle grows once again, Xross a bit dumbfounded.

Xross: The chances of you having two in your hand at the very start....

Shimmer: Where was I...ah, yes. I now summon Madolche Mewfeuille.

The cat appears, mewling softly.

Shimmer: I then follow with his effect, allowing me to special summon a Madolche from my hand. I summon my Madolche Hootcake.

The owl flies in, landing.

Shimmer: I now overlay my two level 3 monsters.

The monsters become orange orbs of light, flying into a vortex on the ground.

Shimmer: I now Xyz summon Wind-Up Zenmaines!

The large toy monster appears in defense mode.

Shimmer: I set one card facedown and end my turn.

Xross: My move. First things first, I flip summon my monster, Crashbug Z!

The little bomb-headed creature appears, Xross taking another monster.

Xross: I then summon my Crashbug Y!

The fatter beast appears, as both of them look to each other.

Xross: And my boys always like to have friends, so when I summon Y while I control Z, I can summon Crashbug X!

The smallest of the bunch appears, all three monsters on the field.

Xross: I now overlay my three monsters together! I Xyz summon Number 34: Terror-byte!

The three monsters fly into the vortex, as the giant mechanical creature appears in defense mode.

Shimmer: Hm...annoying... Xross: I end my turn with that. Shimmer: I draw.

She draws her card, looking over what she's got.

Shimmer: I start off by summoning my Madolche Magileine to the field!

The witch flies in, her fork broomstick glowing.

Shimmer: I then use her effect, allowing me to add a Madolche monster from my deck to my hand. I add Madolche Puddingcess!

The card flies from Shimmer's deck to her hand, as she takes the other card.

Shimmer: I play my Madolche Ticket spell card, and that's all from me.

Xross: My move. I use my Terror-Byte's special effect! By detaching an Xyz material from it, I can control a level 4 or lower monster on the field until the end of my turn. Come to me, Magileine!

Terror-Byte absorbs one of the orbs, as a beam shoots out from it, controlling the witch.

Xross: I set one monster, and end my turn.

The witch returns, Shimmer a bit confused.

Shimmer: Why go through all that to not even use her? Xross: You'll see. Shimmer: My move. I summon Madolche Messengelato.

The messenger boy runs onto the field, Shimmer smiling.

Shimmer: I now overlay both of my monsters and Xyz summon my Madolche Tiaramisu!

The two monster fly into the vortex, the queen appearing...before abruptly falling down into a hole.

Shimmer: W-What the... Xross: Hehe. Saw that coming, I used my trap card, Bottomless Trap Hole! Shimmer: ....annoying....I end my turn.

Xross: My turn. I'll start with a trap card, Dark Smog! By discarding a fiend-type monster, I can banish any monster in your graveyard. I discard my Crashbug X to banish your Madolche Messengelato!

The smog enters her graveyard, as the card flies out and disappears into the void.

Xross: I then summon my Trance Archfiend to the field!

The odd blue demon creature appears, screeching.

Xross: I then use his effect. By discarding a Fiend-type monster from my hand, I can boost his attack by 500. I discard Crashbug Z to the graveyard.

The monster pulls the virus-like monster to it, growing in strength. Xross then smirks.

Shimmer: Hmph....what are you laughing about?

Xross: You will see in time....in the meantime, that's all I do.

Shimmer: My turn...I set a monster and that's all I do.

Xross: My turn.

He draws, looking over his card again.

Xross: Hm...I end my turn. Shimmer: I set another monster and end. Xross: I draw.

He looks over both cards, smirking.

Xross: Time for some fun...first things first, I tribute both Terror-Byte and Trance Archfiend to summon out my monster, Belial, Marquis of Darkness!

The two monsters are sent to the graveyard, as the giant sword-wielding dark angel appears on the field. However...it also falls down into a pit as soon as it's summoned, Shimmer smirking.

Xross: Tch...a taste of my own medicine...

Shimmer chuckles, as her own Bottomless Trap Hole was used. However...Xross just smirks.

Xross: Just as planned...time to have some fun.

Shimmer: Excuse me? Xross: Time to show you my true mistress. I now banish Trance Archfiend, Belial, and a Crashbug Z. I now summon to the field my Dark Necrofear!

The creepy blue female appears, holding her decaying baby doll.

Shimmer: Creepy....

Xross: Dark Necrofear, attack the facedown monster on the left!

Dark Necrofear's eyes open, as it fires a beam right at the monster. It was revealed to be Madolche Chouxvalier.

Shimmer: My chevalier's effect activates. When she would be destroyed by your hand, I can add her back to my deck. However, while I have my Chateau on the field, I can add her to my hand instead.

The cookie puzzle piece Chouxvalier was on flies to her hand, turning into the card.

Shimmer: Now my ticket activates. When a Madolche monster is added to my hand, I can add a Madolche monster to my hand. I add my Madolche Marmalmaide.

The card flies from her deck, adding it to her hand.

Xross: I end my turn.

Shimmer: My move.

She draws, looking over her cards.

Shimmer: I set a monster and a card face-down. That's all.

Xross; My move.

He draws his card, smirking.

Xross: Let's do this. I banish my three Crashbugs, X, Y, and Z! This allows me to summon out my Super Crashbug!

The three virus fly out of the graveyard, combining together to form the giant thing, but in attack mode with 0 attack.

Shimmer: Hm? 0 attack? Xross: That's because his effect hasn't kicked in yet. While Super Crashbug is on the field, it makes the attack and defense stats of all monsters on the field swap!

All monsters on the field have an odd patch on them, looking like a virus as their attack and defense stats are flipped around.

Shimmer: ....seriously?

Xross: Super Crashbug, attack the monster on the left!

The monster attacks, it was Madolche Marmalmaide.

Shimmer: The combo activates again. Marmalmaide is returned to my hand, and I add Madolche Anjelly to my hand.

Xross: Dark Necrofear, attack the other face-down monster!

It was revealed as Madolche Butlerusk.

Shimmer: He returns to my hand, and I add Madolche Baaple to my hand.

Xross: All those monsters...and not a way to make much use of them.

Shimmer: We shall see...

She draws her card, smirking.

Shimmer: Let's do this. I now activate my trap card, Madolchepalooza! Xross: Madolche...palooza? Shimmer: That's right. Now I can summon as many Madolche monsters I can from my hand to the field! They'll all return back to my deck at the end of my turn, but it won't matter anyway. I summon Madolche Chouxvalier, Anjelly, Puddingcess, and Marmalmaide!

The four monsters all come out, getting on the field.

Xross: Unbelievable... Shimmer: Let's have some fun, shall we? I overlay my Marmalmaide and Chouxvalier to Xyz summon another Queen Tiaramisu!

The monsters enter the vortex, as the queen comes to the field.

Shimmer: Next, I use Anjelly's effect. By tributing her, I can special summon a Madolche to the field from my deck. I tribute her to summon Madolche Hootcake.

The angel gives a prayer, as she flies up, the owl flying in to take her place.

Shimmer: I then summon my Madolche Baaple to the field. I then overlay Baaple and Hootcake to Xyz summon M-X-Saber Invoker.

The warrior monster appears, Shimmer smirking.

Shimmer: Time to raise some hell. First, I use Tiaramisu's effect. First, I detach an Xyz material. Then, I can return up to two Madolche cards from my graveyard to my deck. I can then return any number of cards you control to your deck. I return Madolchepalooza and Madolche Baaple to my deck to return Dark Necrofear and Super Crashbug back to your deck.

Xross: N-No way...

Tiaramisu gets a giant mixing bowl into the middle of the field, Shimmer's two cards and Xross's monsters going into it as they fly from the bowl, returning to the decks before shuffling.

Shimmer: And now that Super Crashbug's gone, all of my monsters are back to their usual stats. And guess what...I'm not done yet. Xross: No way, you've already got so much damage output...

Shimmer: But not enough to win. But I still have Invoker. By detaching a material from him, I can special summon an Earth Warrior or Beast-Warrior-type monster from my deck. And I have just the one. I summon Madolche Chouxvalier!

The knight runs onto the field, as Shimmer now had a full field.

Shimmer: Alright then....end it!

All five monsters attack at once, bringing Xross down to 0 in one go. Xross is blasted back, groaning as the buzzer sounds, Shimmer going over.

Shimmer: Nice duel.

Xross: Thanks...that last play was incredible.

Shimmer: Thanks. I was actually worried about your Dark Necrofear for a bit, that ability is annoying. Xross: Yeah, I didn't expect you to be able to get Queen out so quickly. Here, you earned these.

Shimmer takes his Crest Pieces. She now shows her Star Crest, pinning them on, showing she only had one.

Xross: So you only had one. You were willing to risk it all on your first duel like that? Shimmer: Gotta start somewhere, right?

Xross: Well, I'm out. See ya later, Shimmer, best of luck. Shimmer: See ya.

She goes off, disappearing back into the brush. She smirks, deciding to rest for a bit once she was hidden.

Shimmer: Ah, I do enjoy a good hunt now and then....
