#9 of Poke-Treat 2

Do you know how hard it is to get back into something after a year? I apologize for the delay, I had to force myself to sit down for more than 10 minutes at a time for this today. I'm trying hard to get these popping out quicker.

With a vigor pace and an alert mind, the Lucario femme led a group of Pokèmon and fellow Trainers down the road to the next town. Her map app needed to be calibrated when she looked at it, for it kept wanting to tell her she was in the middle of the ocean heading to Johto. But she had studied the map as well as Darla, her Darkrai; Lisa just wanted to keep moving no matter the cost.

"Lisa, can we make camp yet? Our feet are getting tired..." Todd moaned and groaned as he complained.

"Yea, I am also hungry!" Macy huffed as she raced on her short legs to keep up with the other two. "And I want to play with my Lileep some more."

The Lucario growled then stopped suddenly making her companions slide to a stop. "Fine, let's do it." She did not know why she was angry, just that she was. Adrian broke free of his Pokèball and appeared at her side, he immediately began to rub her shoulders.

:Everything will be alright. It is just the young within you. Your hormones are acting up.: He whispered into her ear.

She huffed then slumped down, her mate embraced her from behind.

"Lisa, are you okay?" Macy asked and approached slowly.

"Not really. I...apologize for my acts. This is my first proper pregnancy." Lisa rubbed her eyes. "I'm cold."

:I'll keep you warm, my mate.:

Lisa sniffed lightly. "Thank you."

Todd pulled Macy back and got her to start making camp at the side of the road. Once Lisa had leveled out, she had Adrian set up their tent. Once that was done, Lisa did not even wait for Todd to make supper before climbing into her sleeping bag and encasing herself within the wool covers. Adrian had taken his teammates and had them out and about along with Draco. The dragon claimed a log and sat on it while he watched the others. He particularly watched Todd with interest.

Once the food was cooked, Adrian took a little bit of soup to his Trainer and coaxed her to eat. He checked her Aura and then left her be.

"Todd," He quietly said as he left the tent. "Do we have any of those Multi-meds for general illnesses?"

"I think so, you think she needs a dose?"

"It wouldn't hurt."

"I'll go check my bag."

During the short conversation, Macy eyed the Lucario curiously not being able to understand him. When Todd went to his tent she still stared at the Lucario whom just crossed his arms smugly.

"I get it, alright, you do not have to rub it into my face."

Adrian smiled then sat down in Todd's little folding chair.

"How can we fix this? I do not like being left out."

Adrian still smiled and remained still.

"Here you go, bud. I hope this helps." Todd handed over a blister pack with a pill in it along with a canteen.

"Thanks." Adrian continued to smile at Macy as he took the items. He slipped away into his Trainer's tent.

"Oh, come on!" Macy huffed and crossed her arms as she began to pout.

"Is he giving you the Silence attack?" Todd chuckled which resulted in a loose tongue pointed at him. "You should have listened to Lisa when you had the chance."

Despite the grumbling, Macy was willing to do just about anything to be able to hear the Lucario male properly. She eventually went to her tent with her Priscilla hopping in behind her. Adrian returned to the fire and handed over the empty canteen then went to his daughter to start their nightly training. Tina watched the two quietly, more out of curiosity than anything. She would occasionally beg for a chance to join in the match, but Adrian kept denying her that chance as it was not up to them to train her. When the sun finally set and everyone decided to call it a day, Tina and Draco were left free to watch the fire. Draco, being the silent type, listened (barely) to the chatty reptile female that tried to convince him to teach her how to fight. When he finally broke, he huffed and silently motioned the youngling away from the tents.

"You wish to learn? Then listen to me carefully and do as I say." The pure Dragon type said quietly to the dual type. "Almost all Pokèmon, even some humans, can learn this. Humans have come to call this Double Team. I will move slowly so you can learn and mimic."

A couple hours went by as he taught her how to do this and she mimicking him. In the end, she became tired and proficient in making the doppelgangers to hide behind.

Come morning, Tina and Draco laid around the shimmering ashes of the fire only to be awakened by Adrian rekindling it to cook breakfast. The bigger male rolled over and gladly went back to sleep, though Tina was forced to use her muzzle to push her up onto her feet. When she finally stood, she looked around for her Trainer.

"Draco, wake up, please." Adrian calmly spoke.

"You are not the Teacher."

"No, I am not. But we need you to carry her, she's not feeling well. She needs to get to a Center soon."

"Then why do you dawdle with small things when you can get us there quickly? Are you not a user of the Extreme Speed?"

"Yes, but our human companions cannot use it. We need to stay with them."

The Druddigon growled then stood. "I shall begin to take down camp and police it. I suggest waking the humans then... pet."

"Ouch. I am not her pet, I am her mate and her team lead. I will do what is needed."

"Pet."

"Then how do you see her?"

"She is my Master, my Teacher, I will obey her commands to the death."

"Then you need to listen to me because if she dies, you die. She is your only chance at redemption in the eyes of the humans."

Again, Draco growled; he did not retort against that.

Tina, however, had slipped into her Trainer's tent to check on her. "Ma'am?"

"I'll be fine. My mate is just over reacting. I'll be out in a bit."

"Draco and your mate are arguing. Though he taught me how to evade attacks last night, I believe he might hurt Adrian."

"I bet it would be the other way around. Alright, I'll get up." That she did, she rose and exited the tent. "Draco, Adrian, come here."

The arguing stopped as the males heard her voice and followed her command.

"What is the problem?"

"This one thinks he can order me about." Draco replied without thought.

"And he can, he is my team lead. Now why does he want to order you about?"

"He believes you are ill and must be carried."

"He does, does he?" Lisa grinned. "I may be sick, but I am very capable of walking. I am pregnant, being ill in the morning is normal. Now, I want you two to stop the fighting, I am not fond of family fighting each other. If you want to compete against each other, find a boulder to judge your strength on. I am going to go sit down while you two break down camp. Got it?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Yes, dear."

"Good. Move it."

As the two began to do their task, Todd and Macy came out of their tents with a matching frown. Lisa apologized for the noise then told them what was going on. Todd eased his mild anger while Macy just rubbed her head.

"So, all of this was just because of an over protective male that just wanted to ensure his mate would make it safely to the Center?"

"Yep."

"So, just because Draco is not a normal Trainer's Pokèmon, he refuses to listen to anyone but you?"

"Yep, again."

"How are you going to stop this?"

"One step at a time, Macy. Other than dominating them like the males they are, I do not know how."

"Why not use Darla's help?"

"I do not think she would. Though it wouldn't hurt."

"Are you going to do it?"

"No, I have them in line at the moment, but I will if needed. For now, enjoy the silent service."

Macy huffed and rubbed her head again. "Is there any words of wisdom for headaches in that Pokèmon brain of yours?"

"O-oh? Well I do not see any Oran bushes, so you cannot suck on the leaves... Try to relax and not think too hard."

"These flashes of light make it hard though."

Lisa growled quietly as she silently cursed, "What do you see during these flashes?"

"Colors surrounding everything. It... hurts."

"Try shutting your eyes. If you still see these colors let me know."

"Tried that already."

"Let me have a word with Adrian, he has had more experience in the wilds than me. I am sure we can figure something out between the two of us." Lisa fell silent and focused her Aura on Macy for a brief moment then reached out to her mate. We have a problem; Macy is becoming sensitive to the Aura. Marsha warned me about her bloodline, she is maturing. We have to stay with her at all times or abandon her soon.

She will know where you are at all times if this is true, you bonded with her. We have to keep her. Adrian paused his work to turn to her and the humans.

I was afraid you would say that. Do you know a way to slow this?

No.

"Sorry, Macy, we are stumped; I may have to ask the Wilders for Clan locations. But just so you know, they do not like humans, they barely tolerate Captured. So, I may just be the worst thing alive to them."

"Sorry for what?"

"We may have awoken something deep within you with the bonding... or it could be the bonding itself. If we, or rather, I, talk to an Elder, we might be able to break the bond or even stop whatever is happening. Your Aura is becoming more like a Lucario's."

"How is that possi- How can that happen?"

"Humans and Pokèmon are not that different. Anything could have happened."

The two males finished packing and came over to snuff the fire before going to their Trainer. As they awaited orders, the Trainer's stood and looked at the two before moving on. Adrian quickly fell in behind Macy while Draco went behind Lisa without a word.

In silence, they walked for nearly an hour before finding any sign of human life. They looked at their maps and could not find this tiny four home village. Working in a garden was an elderly woman with a grayed Lucario next to her. Lisa flashed her Aura ahead of them, the elder turned to them but did not respond with Aura, instead it waved then grabbed a red and white pole and the arm of the woman.

"Well, visitors. How unusual. Come, come, I will fix tea." The woman huffed as she straightened her back. "Let's get you to your chair, Zeus."

The Lucario moved slower than the woman as he limped heavily on a now obvious prosthetic leg. "Yes, Dear." The Lucario actually spoke which startled the kids, but not the Pokèmon.

"We are actually trying to make our way to the Gym."

"Oh! That thing? Then you are seeking our grandchildren. They will be back in a while." Zeus chuckled as he slowly sat down. "That grandson of mine has become one fine warrior. You would not be that one on the Tele that trying to gain Equal Rights, are you?"

Lisa smiled, "I am, Elder."

"Wonderful, I would be happy to 'watch' you guide your team through this challenge. Tell me something, pup, have you met up with the Clan in these woods?"

"No, sir." Todd answered hoping to gain insight on this. He had room on his team and he hoped to gain the respect of a Lucario or Riolu and get them to join him.

"Ah. Shame. Though beating Maxis and Hermes will gain the eyesight of my son, the Clan Alpha. And, yes, we are named after Old Gods from lands of no Pokèmon. If you have knowledge of these lands, you will know his weakness. That is all the hints that this blind, old male shall give. Enjoy your tea time, children."

The woman came out of her home with a steaming kettle and several cups, enough to supply a battalion. After she poured everyone a cup, she examined Adrian and chuckled. "He is a father himself, Zeus, I do not doubt that this pup is highly protective of his little one."

:I am, ma'am.:

"Ha! I knew it!" The woman rubbed Adrian's head then sipped her tea.

"I figured you understood Pokè." Lisa eyed the woman.

"Not really, Zeus is always translating for me. He may be blind, but his Aura Sight has yet to weaken."

"Seventy years of training and a decade of retirement. I am one of the oldest living Lucarios in human care. In fact, we need to check, I might hold the record now."

"Eighty? I didn't think we could live that long..." Lisa muttered which caught the ear of the elder.

"Normally, no. The Pokèball does help, plus the help of the hospitals. Oh, I do believe the boys are here, my dear, do not slouch now."

"Yes, Elder." Through utter reflex, Lisa straightened up.

She then noticed to young males come between two of the houses. The human, a very attractive subject with auburn hair and not a sign of fat, walked with an equally attractive and fit Lucario. They came right up to the elderly and hugged both before acknowledging the visitors.

"Welcome to the midst of Aura Valley, travelers, many do not go off-Route and find our home. I have no doubt you have had the notion of being watched, correct?"

"No, actually, sir." Macy said politely trying to hide her blushing face.

"Really? Hermes, you are going to need to put them through more drills."

The male huffed and nodded Lisa noticed his Aura was going wild as he was continuously communicating to his Clan.

"I believe it would be due to me and my mate, Maxis. Being so close to humans may have put them on enough guard to not allow their presence known." Or they sensed Macy's growing abilities, Lisa thought.

"Possible. I bet you're here for my badge, correct?"

"Yes, I am." Lisa smiled.

"Ah, then you are that Lucario. Did you know that you have become a model to many in the city? A lot of Lucarios have started to dress like humans and started to learn how to read more than just the basics."

"I am glad that I have impacted many lives just by being on the television."

"I expect that you will end up with many autograph requests when we head to the Gym." Maxis chuckled then looked to Hermes then became stern. "Are you sure?"

The Lucario nodded.

"He wishes to speak with you, young lady, if that is alright?" Maxis knelt slightly to look Macy in the eye.

Macy nodded then followed the Lucario away from the others.

"So, is that the infamous Druddigon behind you?"

"I forgot he was still out. He is far too quiet at times. Yes, that is him. He's... starting to change."

The dragon cocked his head at his teacher then blinked at the human. He stared at the man as he lifted his hand and offered it to him. After a moment, he put out his own claw to the man's and watched as the human shook it.

"Just so you know, bud, they offered me this job. But when Hermes saw your Aura protruding the ball, he told me to refuse. I think being able to see the world has helped you. So... Lisa, would you and your friends like to rest in the guest cottage tonight or head into town? It is just a click away."

"Click?"

"A kilometer, sorry, I forget not everyone is familiar with military jargon. At least it was just that simple little thing."

"You're in the military?" Todd looked at him. "You can't be that old."

"Forty-two. I did my ten years then left to take over my father's work. Hermes stayed to learn what it takes to be Alpha."

Macy came back to the group looking rather confused and in deep thought. Hermes came up to his Trainer and shook his head.

"Alpha, I assume this is about... her condition. Do you think you can help suppress it or even help her with some techniques? My mate and I had to learn on our own."

He took a deep breath as he focused his thoughts. :Yes, but she may end up staying with us. She... can be dangerous without proper knowledge. I know you... bonded with her and the male. Risky, but albeit needed for your own protection. If she wishes to learn, it will be her decision.:

"Thank you."

Hermes looked to the edge of the homes then pardoned himself as a young female Riolu came running in. Maxis followed along with the group.

"It is hard for me to translate: The Clan is under attack your help is needed." Lisa whispered to her companions. She then pushed her Aura as far as she could to check their surroundings. The only thing she noticed was a single Pidgey overlooking them. "There's... nothing out there. Not even the littlest worm. Arceus, is this the work of the Dark One? Darla, come out."

Hermes immediately raised his guard as he noticed the Darkrai's Aura. Darla ignored him and turned to Lisa.

"Take to the shadows, find the Clan anything other than our guard up there." A single squawk was heard at that mentioning then the fluttering of feathers. "If there is trouble, we need to know."

Darla nodded then vanished.

"That Pokèmon..."

"The Darkrai is with me. This may become a bloody battle, be prepared for a lot of death." Lisa brought out the rest of her team and explained the situation. Tina bounced as she heard she was to be in battle.

"I do hope you and your teams are well accustomed for war." Lisa huffed then went to the Alpha. "Lead the way. We are a part of the Army of Arceus, we will help protect the innocent." Mona and Adrian came up to Lisa as she spoke to the Alpha and smiled.

The male nodded then turned tail.

"Draco, protect Macy and Todd."

"Drudd!" Draco shouted an affirmative then went to the two companions as the others began to follow Hermes.

They quickly got to a village made of adobe huts. Lucarios and Riolus ran about putting out fires or fighting a violet mist Lisa ordered her crew to battle. As soon as they joined the front defense, the mist pulled back to reveal shadowed figures with glowing red eyes. Darla came out of a portal to rejoin her Trainer and sneered at the figures.

"They are just shells, they no longer have a mind. Kill or be killed!" Darla shouted to the Clan.

Mona rushed the group; Lisa immediately recognized Follow Me.

The entire field shifted to attack the speedy Riolu and allowing the others to regroup and focus on the battle. Darla used Dark Pulse then shuttered as she found her attack useless. Aura Spheres filled the air afterwards. She heard Lisa yell out Focus Blast, she did just that. Mona shifted gears and started to use Force Palm on every opponent that drew close. Soon, Adrian joins his daughter to sling Spheres over her head and decapitating a few mindless shells. But when a metal Aíat Ba'teese golem appeared, Adrian scooped up his daughter and avoided the explosives that it shot. One shot hit a hut and sent Pokèmon flying through the air. Pain flowed through the air as water flowed down the mountains, Lisa growled as she, too, entered the fray and aimed a Sphere at the head of the golem. It hit leaving only a tiny dent. It aimed at her and shot.

"LISA!"
