Chapter 19 â€" Home Sweet... Jungle?

"That was the loudest you two have ever been," Spencer calmly stated, as he walked past Alex now lying on Skye's bed with him.

"What can I say, he's a screamer!" Skye grinned.

"Hey! If I recall, you also were the moaner!" Alex shot back, jabbing Skye in the ribs.

"Well sorry," Skye replied, "The next time that you vibrate, suck and mess around with my cock, I'll to shut up!"

"Hey, I'm just kidding," Alex comforted.

"I know, I'm just playing around with you," Skye replied, messing up the locks of Alex's golden hair.

"Well, two things are evident," Evan began as he walked into the room,

"One, I need to get BJ lesions from Alex, and Two, We're late for our meeting with the ships commanders!"

"Shit, we gotta go!" Skye shouted, jumping up, grabbing some clothes and began to make himself a little more presentable.

"All right fine, ill get up!" Alex groaned standing and beginning to get tidy himself also.

About ten minutes later the four members of the Black team walked into Blake's office, meeting with the other three commanders.

"Ah, you're just in time," Blake welcomed, "Please be seated we need to get this started."

"What the big secret?" Alex asked.

"I'll get to that in a sec," Blake reassured.

"Okay," Alex replied, sitting quietly in his chair.

"Gentleman, the reason that I have called this meeting is, well, there is a slight problem." Blake paused. "The Intel we've recently gathered was en-route through an encrypted message from Joey to one of his outposts. It seems that Joey has settled his main production worlds rather close to Earth." Blake paused again.

"Sir, won't that make it easier for the Earth fleets to assault the facilities?" Spencer asked.

"It should but there is defiantly something going on there, ships have been going missing, and we need to know why." Blake replied.

"So you're sending us to find out where they're going?" Skye asked.

"Not exactly," Blake replied.

"What do you mean?" Skye asked, "Don't make me go looking for answers Blake; you know I'll find them."

"Okay, well hear me out, okay?" Blake asked.

"All right, go." Skye replied bluntly.

"We were ordered by Earth's fleet commander to send Black team to respond, while we stay here and battle his insurgency in the outer colonies." Blake replied.

There was a very awkward silence in the boardroom; this was finally broken by Evan.

"So let me get this straight, you're going to kick me out of the only home, I've actually had, and to boot, you're sending us to a planet we don't even have enough Intel on to send simple ships there, without them going missing?" he demanded.

"I'm sorry guys if it were up to me I..." Blake was cut off.

"If it was up to you, then you should have told them to politely fuck themselves." Evan screamed.

Several objects on the desk began to float in the air, as if gravity was completely zeroed out around them.

"If it were up to you, then this shouldn't be happening, we're supposed to be your allies, friends, not just your little weapons of war." Evan snapped, jumping to his feet and storming out of the room, causing the objects that were floating mid-air to suddenly drop back down onto the table.

"Evan, I..." Blake tried.

"Save it Blake, you've lost his trust, it's like talking to a wall," Spencer advised.

"Well someone needs to go talk to him," Blake replied.

"I will, just let's get this meeting over with." Spencer snapped.

"Okay, well, according to orders, you and the rest of Black team are supposed to be suited up and en-route to the Space Gravity Shot tomorrow morning at 10:00 hours. You're only taking the Prowler and whatever you can fit inside it, we can't risk losing one of these ships." Blake replied somberly.

"Nice Blake, you kick us out practically and now you won't even let us use one of the ships that we captured?" Alex asked, getting up and walking out of the room.

"I'll try my best to send you supplies when we can!" Blake replied.

"Well you certainly haven't made this the best use of a meeting Blake; and all you basically said to Alex there, was that we were expendable and a ship wasn't." Spencer got up and walked into the hallway.

"So is this it Skye," Blake asked, "You're the only sane one?"

"Blake I only stayed to thank you for everything that you've done for us, but apart from that, I'll see you around!" Skye commented standing and leaving the room after Alex.

"Well, what can I say..." Blake muttered, "This sucks!"

The next few hours for the members of the Black Team was spent packing whatever they could inside their jumper, it would hold a lot, but not enough. The boys packed their armor, which took a lot of space on its own, their clothes, food, water and whatever weapons were available.

"This sucks!" Evan muttered, packing his gear away.

"I know what you mean." Alex replied.

"He's practically outing us, just because we're what, use able else where." Spencer replied.

"Well, we are the best hope that they have," Skye continued, "But it's still not right to do it this way."

The following four hours consisted of Alex and Skye having one last shower aboard the ship, Spencer cuddling with Evan, trying to comfort him, and of course, Becka downloading herself onto the Prowler's systems and the boy's equipment. When this was all done they finally fell asleep for the five or so hours that remained.

When they awoke they slowly ate, and boarded their jumper, getting the final preparations ready.

"Thrusters?" Skye asked.

"Green," Alex replied.

"Navigation?" Spencer asked.

"Green," Evan replied.

"Weapons?" Evan asked.

"Green, locks on." Skye reported.

"Life support, seal and temperature controls?" Alex asked.

"All green," Skye replied.

"Becka, initiate the final checks on the system prep for launch at scheduled time." Skye ordered.

"Aye sir, checks initiated." Becka replied, the systems check screen appeared on the main screen of the Prowler, currently sitting at 5%.

"Well I guess this is our last chance to say goodbye," It was Blake, he tried to feign a smile, but none of the boys bought it.

"Well I guess so," Evan replied sarcastically.

"Look guys, I'm sorry things didn't work out like I wanted them too," Blake attempted to reconcile.

"It's okay Blake, were not blaming this all on you, we'll still be allies," Skye attempted.

"Save it, see if I care when you're under attack and we're not here to save your asses!" Evan snapped.

"Evan, go sit down, that's an order!" Skye commanded.

"All right Skye, but I'm doing this for you, not him." Evan replied.

"Thank you," Skye smiled, before turning to Blake. "We're not going to take the sling shot; it's too risky to get into the planets orbit un-detected, it spikes several energy frequencies, which we're sure they're watching."

"Then how're you going to get there, normal sub-light speeds would take you decades." Blake wondered.

"That's where we come in," Skye replied.

"What do you mean?" Blake asked inquisitively.

"Well simply put: Evan's newest ability manifests over gravity, mine creates un-stable wormholes, or portals, light energy, Alex can manipulate matter and Spencer can manipulate powers, and controls dark energy." Skye explained.

"That's really cool but still how does it get you there?" Blake resumed.

"We're going to make a portal, straight into the atmosphere of the planet, and crash down like a piece of rock, we activate the cloak at about 16000 feet and make it as if we broke up on entry." Spencer continued.

"How can you do that?" Blake gasped, "Won't the gravity of the planet rip micro-tears in the streamline, and you could be ripped to pieces on emergence." Blake warned.

"Hello, does ‘Evan's newest ability manifests over gravity,' mean anything to you?" Evan remarked.

"You're going to stabilize the worm hole?" Blake gasped, "That'll kill you."

"It didn't kill us the first time we did it, remember?" they all asked.

"Okay, well I'll let you guys get back to it," Blake replied, "Good luck, and please no hard feelings."

"Whatever," Evan replied, walking over to the biometrics console.

"System scans 90% complete," Becka's voice cheerfully advised.

"See you later Blake," Skye parted.

"Good luck!" Blake replied.

About five minutes later the boys were ready to launch, the hanger bay doors opened, as they awaited clearance to depart.

"Prowler, you are clear to launch, good luck!" The new commander of the Shroud of Shadows advised.

"Aye, thanks." Spencer replied across the com.

"Alex, you know what to do," Skye asked.

"Aye, launching now, main thrusters hot," Alex answered, pushing several buttons and levers.

The prowler lurched forwards, streaking about one kilometer away from the three ships they had until recently called home.

With the coms open, they began. Skye stood up in the middle of the ship and closed his eyes. Several different glowing symbols appeared on the deck beneath him; his body began to slightly glow also.

Evan also stood and closed his eyes, followed by Spencer and Alex, they too all began to glow, each of their symbols began circling them and intertwining with the other four groups of runes. The shapes began to get more complex as Skye opened his eyes.

The space in front of the Prowler began to turn white, and soon a tear seemed to slash itself across the star streaked view, it began to twist and convulse.

Evan opened his eyes now, the tear began to glow a bright green colour as he began compacting the gravity around the tear. Spencer followed, by adding the dark matter components to the tear as Alex began to convert the matter around the tear into charged ions for which the tear began to leech energy off of, creating a concentration gradient which flowed through the tear.

The four boys focused even harder, making sure the tear was perfect, the shape of it began to form more, and several strands of super-ionized white and dark matter began whipping around the tear.

"Taking us in now," Becka advised.

Everyone thought once more about this working, and the Prowler darted into the twisting matrix.

Planet X-2084 â€" Serion â€" May 1st 2020

ï Inside one of Joey's labs

"Sir, I'm detecting something coming through the atmosphere," the scientist warned.

"What is it?" Joey demanded.

"Not sure, but its coming down way to fast to be a ship, its breaking apart in the atmosphere." The scientist replied.

"Well then why waste my time with it then?" Joey snapped.

"It's just weird, we didn't pick up anything on scanners prior to entry, and it just appeared." He warned.

"Well maybe we missed something, get those scanners re-calibrated," Joey ordered.

"Aye sir, on it now." He replied.

"Now, what's the status on our latest harvest project?" Joey asked one of his lab techs through the com.

"Sir all seven of the boys have started the DNA augment process, approximately ten hours until its complete, and an additional couple of days until they're able to first morph." The tech answered.

"Why so long?" Joey asked.

"Well it's because of those new adaptations you requested, the breathing in non-atmosphere, its taking some time." He answered.

"Well hurry up damn it; if those half-morphs of the Earth project can do it I want it ready ASAP." Joey replied, and then turned the com off.

Planet Serion â€" Surface â€" Black Teams landing site

"Alex I thought you said we could land smoother than that!" Spencer shouted.

"Sorry, the ship lost some control on final entrance; it must've been the change in gravity fields." Alex replied.

"Oh so it's my fault?" Evan snapped.

"No, its not, I'm sorry I meant that the planet has a slightly different atmosphere that I had anticipated." Alex corrected, "Sorry if I offended you."

"It's okay, sorry to snap, I'm just still burning over this whole op." Evan replied.

"Don't worry, we all lost something today, it's never going to happen again!" Spencer comforted.

"Well let's get out of this crater!" Skye ordered playfully.

"Aye, let's go!" Alex replied.

The four boys climbed out of their crumpled wreckage they had once called the Prowler; their wounds healing and gashes closing as they stepped into the sun light.

"Whoa!" they all gasped looking at the pre-historic looking world around them.

"Where are we again?" Evan asked.

"Our new home," Skye replied with some hesitation.
