#8 of Solaria Chronicles

I managed to catch up with the group, and realized we were almost to the Residential Wheel. Infinatum consists of several "wheels". The ship is designed as a giant pipe, around it is a massive, spinning cylinder almost as long. The cylinder is walled off into various "wheels", and each has a different primary purpose. The cylinders themselves have about sixteen miles worth of residential space, one mile wide. The width was divided into seven sections, but the length was divided into two hundred and twenty four sections. Each "section" was a single, massive apartment building, three stories high. Each apartment had two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and two living rooms.

Once we reached Section E-193, we hurried to our apartment. Before, no one would know us enough to question a forth, but here I was pretty sure people would notice me and someone wearing my suit, with Gamma and Alpha wearing there's.

We were only six feet from the door when our neighbor, Quark, realized something was up, "So, who's wearin' your suit, Carter?" Quark is your typical grey wolf with golden eyes. It just so happens that every extremity is gold and glows, and it's brighter than most. To add to it, he had tattoos on his left arm that glowed bright gold as well, and were symbols of old videa games from back on earth.

"Huh, oh just a friend." I tried to step past him but he stopped me, knowing we were hiding something.

"Who's in the suit."

"You know, if we get banished for who's in the suit, you could too by association." [Gamma]

"... I still wanna know."

"Uh... His name's Skjorn."

"Skjorn? That name is ancient as fuck, who were his parents? The founders of the industry?"

"No, but they adored our... culture." [Me]

"Our culture?"

"Just let us through, Quark." [Alpha]

"Not until you tell me who he is."

"Step out of the way, Quirk." [Gamma]

"Don't call me that!"

"Oh, do you prefer Quear?"

"Gamma..." [Alpha]

"Stop!" [Quark]

"Or do you just like to be called what you are? A freak." [Gamma]

"Stop calling me names!"

"No, not until-" Skjorn laid his hand on Gamma's shoulder and shoved him back. He stepped forward and unlatched the helmet, pulling it off. Quark's eyes widened when he saw Skjorn. Skjorn didn't look Anthran. Not in the least.

"That... Wait, you got the terran mission... And you... You brought one of them on board!" [Quark]

"Yeah, and if you snitch, we're gonna kill you." [Gamma]

"We won't kill you. Just, please, understand that I'm like you guys. I'm just here to avoid a storm." [Skjorn]

"Is 'storm' a euphemism for war, 'cause if it is, I always carry a gun on me." Quark tapped the Chromium barrel at his waist.

"No, it's a literal storm." [Alpha]

"Although war could be started since none of my people know I voluntarily went with you, and... capturing someone's leader usually isn't the best way to avoid war." [Skjorn]

"You're they're fucking leader?!" [Quark]

"I'm just on the counsel."

"Okay..."

"It just so happens that I'm the head of the counsel."

"Fuck. You need to go home. They're gonna kill us if we don't send you back."

"We only used war when nessecary, and I have means of communication. Are there any windows or anything?"

"You don't understand space travel do you?"

"Ever warped the energetic flux field of space?"

"Huh?"

"That's what I thought. Let us in."

"... Fine, but I wanna be in there, too."

"Go ahead, then we won't be the only ones banished for smuggling an alien on board." [Gamma]

"Good point, you go on in, I'll go snitch." He darted around Skjorn before we could stop him, and was half way down the hallway in under four seconds. I slid my key through the lock and pushed the button on it. The door opened automatically, and I locked it behind us when we were all through.

"So, again, are there any windows in here? I just need to be able to see what I'm doing."

"Uhh... Yeah, but if you open it, you're dead. Literally." [Gamma]

"I know, I'm not stupid." Skjorn spotted the window in the left wall and went over to it. He adjusted to try and see Biocrate, and a strange shapes and forms grew outside the window. I ran over there, to try and figure out how he was doing it without any machines, but I couldn't even begin to fathom how the structure was coming alive. It took a minute to figure out how it was STAYING alive, and then I realized it wasn't more bacteria. It had a central nervous system, that would keep the entire structure in shape, and then he just had to create the structure. I realized that he giving it a respiratory system, even though it wouldn't serve a purpose in space. There was little markings and shapes on the structure, and those that were there were skewed and deformed. They didn't look like english symbols. I flicked his hand and the thing shot off into space towards Biocrate.

"Uhh... How did you just..." [Me]

"Magic."

"I'm telling you, that doesn't exist!"

"You really wanna know?"

"Yes."

"Okay, fine. Originally, we could only effect the stimuli of bacteria. That was the extent of our abilities. We'd mess with the stimuli, and over several generations, the bacteria would evolve. We couldn't explain our power, we were just glad that we had it. Later, after we got to your planet through more manipulation of the stimuli to create massive ships with oxygen fields and such, we discovered Theorium, thanks to your people. We attempted drinking it, and found that it worked for us similarly to how it worked for you. Only, for us, it also gave the ability to tap into the realm of magic. While it strengthened our abilities, it also opened up potential for new abilities. We took the chance, and about twelve generations later, you have me. I am capable of completely altering any life form on Biocrate."

We just starred at him. He was obviously telling the truth, but we were all thinking the same thing, and Gamma just voiced it, "But if you can control all life on Biocrate, how do you not have wars?!" Oh, so we aren't thinking the same thing.

"Simple, war is a futile creation of Anthrans that simply negated your ability to progress in the universe."

"Certainly pushed through all right." [Alpha]

"Losing a piece of your population barely counts as 'all right'."

"I was talking about the Last War, but okay."

"Last War? I... There was another war after we stopped watching you guys?"

"Yeah. It ended when the world reset itself."

"But, then how did you build this?" He gestured around, as if he meant the Infinatum.

"This is what started the war. People were sent to it from all around the world, along with pieces of technology worth billions. At a point, it got over crowded, but countries continued to demand space on it. Then, the machines on the outside that would build it opened up the first section of the residential district. More people wanted to be sent from earth, but only so many could be. We don't know who fired first, but we do know that within three days, the world was at war with itself. There were no allies, no axis powers, and no one to help anyone..."
