#9 of My Brain Must Work

I wrote this while listening to AWOLNATION's new album, run. Tried to capture what I believe the songs are conveying. I had noticed a running theme in the songs -- they all concern oneself, love, and questioning the situations he's in. So... Here is a story!

Finally!

*Note: it's more a poem, but eh.

The sun started to set.

Yellow, orange, pink, and red filled the sky -- red was the predominant color.

Wind could be heard.

Whoosh.

It feels crisp.

The snow twinkles in the dying light.

The silhouettes are growing.

Snow flits about the landscape.

Mountains lose their color and give into the shades of black, of red, and of orange.

Whoosh.

There is no other plants than trees and small brushes.

The tundra stretches forever.

Small huts around a pond are the only things around here.

It smells of death.

It feels bad.

It feels lonely.

Lonely.

So he runs.

Whoosh.

Now he's living in a dream.

Whoosh.

The wind picks up.

It's warm inside.

He runs.

Whoosh.

He adjusts his legs, his arms, and his head as he runs.

He is living in a dream.

He doesn't understand others.

He's living in a dream.

Whoosh.

They make more sense here, in this land scape with it's shadowy mountains, whooshing wind, and a peaceful sunset.

Living in a dream.

Running.

Hiding.

Whoosh.
