"Tay'Rat, Queen Kaliendra." the royal scribe called out as he dropped to a single knee, bowing his head. A smile appeared on the Tokaya's face as she looked over the slender, orange furred male. His cream colored muzzle, tail-tip, and chest accentuated his appearance, making the female's tail twitch at the sight of him, while white paint marked his face. Dressed in a simple skirt that covered from waist to knees with bangles around his wrists and ankles, the young male stayed on one knee as she enjoyed the sight of his body. On his bicep rested a black tattoo, while his brown hair fell down behind his neck.

Shimmering green furred flesh shone in the light of the sun, while the gold adornments sparkled on her brow, and around her appendages. Horns poked up out of her black mass of curls as they fell over her shoulders and down her back. Long green ears lay down behind her jaw spikes, while her brown eyes looked over the young man. Dressed in her white skirt and chest covering that kept some of her modesty, the Abunese queen tore her eyes from the young male as she looked down at the papyrus in her hands. "Tay'Rat, Ravin." she responded softly.

"You summoned me, Queen Kaliendra?" Ravin asked.

Smiling, the green furred woman nodded. "I have recently received an interesting missive from the neighboring Hexarcate of Zoniza, Ravin, and wish for your opinion upon what I read." Kaliendra mentioned, handing the parchment over to her dutiful scribe.

Lifting his eyes to the older woman, the young Emer reached out, taking the parchment. He noticed the deft flourishes, the slant of the letters, and the rather unkempt scrawl before ever reading the words. "I do believe that this "Lord Nykin" as he wants to call himself is quite upset, my Queen, and although his... language leaves much to be desired, it is quite obvious that he is requesting... no, he's demanding... aid."

"I too have noticed that, but my question is... when has the Zonizan Hexarcate, or any of their Kanreesha ever asked anyone for help in the history of the nation?" Kaliendra asked.

At the word "Kanreesha" he looked down at the signature, blinking. "None that I know of, my Queen." Ravin answered in confusion. "The Zonizans tend to be strict isolationists, who only trade with others when it benefits them. Xenophobic by nature, the entire nation refuses to accept any other races without at least five generations having lived within their borders. Even then, they still regard those as second-class serfs with no real allegiance toward the nation, unless two or more generations have been in the military, or served one of the noble houses. Hat'Ny has attempted trade relations with them for decades, and I can only remember a handful of times they were even permitted within the borders of Zoniza."

"Do you know of any reason to submit to this request?" Queen Kaliendra asked.

"Lord Nykin appears to have a genuine problem, but the way with which he asks for assistance is nothing short of insulting to you, my Queen." Ravin answered. "Were it me, I would refuse his demands within a second."

"Agreed." Kaliendra remarked. Pressing her elbows onto her knees, she brought her hands up in front of her face, interlacing her fingers in front of her nose. "I thank you for your counsel, Ravin, now if you will. Take a letter."

Pulling out an ink bottle, quill, and parchment, the young scribe walked over to the desk close to the royal thrones. "I am ready, Queen Kaliendra."

"Lord Nykin, I understand your difficulty with the small horde of rampaging nomads, but I cannot, at this time, assist you with such problems as my husband Prince Faad is currently away on a diplomatic mission. The deployment of troops to our borders must be agreed upon by both rulers before any action can be taken, as such I must decline your request. Respectfully yours, Kaliendra Wacha of the Ahkis clan, Holy Queen of Abun, Hope of the People, Beloved by the Gods and Blessed by Say'Rada." she dictated while Ravin's quill scrawled upon the parchment.

"Very... diplomatic, Queen Kaliendra." Ravin admitted with a smile.

Kaliendra smiled at the scribe. "Yes, I'm quite pleased with that particular response myself." she thought aloud as she felt her heartbeat slow to normal.

"I doubt that he'll be happy." Ravin remarked as he transferred his dictation from the scrap of parchment he was using to a full missive.

"To be honest, at this juncture, I really don't care." Kaliendra remarked. "However..."

"However?" Ravin asked.

"From what I read about these nomads, he makes them sound like some sort of invading army rather than a bunch of misplaced peasantry." Rubbing at her chin, Kaliendra thought long and hard about the problem. "Perhaps we should increase the guard patrols in Abun at the very least. Just for security."

Ravin nodded, "That may be a wise precaution, my queen." he remarked, looking up at her. In a few minutes he finished the letter, adding deft flourishes and small enhancements to the parchment. Seeing the letter, he nodded, his chest swelling with pride in his work.

Letting the ink dry, he approached the throne with the letter on a tablet of wood sanded down until it was smooth as glass. Handing the quill to Kaliendra, she signed between the words "Respectfully yours" and her title. After the response was signed, he left the letter out for the queen as he bowed in front of her. "Is there anything else, my Queen Kaliendra?"

"Not as of yet, Ravin, but please visit me tonight in my chambers. I... I miss Prince Faad and wish for someone to hold me tonight." Kaliendra admitted.

"Of course, my queen." Ravin said, knowing where she was coming from. He missed Nahara as well.

Smiling, she dismissed her scribe to his duties, and waited for a few more minutes before picking up the letter. Noticing that the ink was dry, she rolled the parchment in a tube in order to protect the contents for travel. Slipping it inside a hollow reed, she capped the tube. Reaching out to the side, she picked up a small block of colored wax, and dripped it onto both ends until they were both covered.

Extracting herself from her throne, Kaliendra walked through the open room until she was standing in front of a golden brown Emer male, dressed in long white and brown robes, with a black and red scarf that formed a hood around his head. Holding the tube out for the rider who had approached the palace earlier that day, she took in his slightly more muscular frame than what Ravin had, his muzzle the same honey color as the rest of his body, while no paint adorned his face like her scribe. "This is my answer to Lord Nykin." she announced brusquely.

"Forgive me, Queen Kaliendra, but I..." the golden brown Emer started to say, only for the Tokaya to turn to the side, while her guards stepped between the pair. Even so, he continued on with his statement, "must tell you about the ride to Enit."

"I have read the missive by Nykin, there is no reason to tell me anything further." she remarked.

"But..." he started to say, only to see the guards reaching for their weapons. Looking at the woman in charge of Abun, he gave a sigh, and took the tube. Turning around, he mounted his chestnut mare without another word spoken. He never even looked back as he started for the Eastern gates of the city.

Kaliendra watched the rider until he passed the gates of the city, a momentary shiver of apprehension coursing down her back. "Ny'Hath, rider." she murmured, worry causing her to shiver. She wanted to dispute the missive she had read, but if it were true...

Riding to the east, the Emer leaned forward against the neck of his horse, his clothes rippling in the wind while his mount grunted against the exertion. The orders of his lord kept penetrating his mind even as he permitted the stable hands to care for his mount, and allowed him to rest in the capitol of Enit the night he arrive. Part of his mind reminded him of the hospitality the Tokaya queen's servants bestowed upon him before she saw to the missive, and yet part of him couldn't help but be upset about her refusal in permitting him to speak. He only hoped that her response was favorable.

Arriving at the first of two rivers hours after leaving the capital, he slowed his mount to cross the shallow trench, remaining mindful of potential tripping hazards under the surface. The sight of happy villages, and quiet hamlets along the river lifted his spirits ever so slightly. Part of him wanted to ride into one of those villages, to have a relaxing ride back, and yet as his mount ascended the banks of the river.

Over the course of the next few hours, he rode on, his horse breathing heavily with each mile they put between them and Enit. Reaching the bottom edge of a landlocked lake, he saw a few small fishing villages spreading out around the edge of the massive body of water when he crested the hill, and continued onward to the second river. 'Once I'm past the river I will be only a few hours from home. My only hope is that the village of Ny'Shee is still there.' he thought to himself.

Barely two hours later, as he reached the zenith of a hillock, the glittering blue strip of a river appeared in the distance filling his heart with the vain hope that he would be greeted with the sounds and smells of a lively hamlet. It took another hour of riding before he would realize the truth. Inside the flowing river, he slowed his mare to a canter, letting her move at her own pace while he kept a lookout to see if there was any activity in the lone village.

What he saw filled him with dread.

The entire place looked like a ghost town, with more than a dozen buildings left empty. Livestock and food were gone, along with the people, and yet there were no indications of combat, or damage to the buildings. It seemed, to him, that everyone had picked up and left.

Shaking his head, the Emer rider continued onward, knowing that he would arrive several hours past nightfall. His only hope now was to remain unobserved while riding to Lord Nykin's court. Riding up an incline of more hilly terrain, he passed within a few feet of the summit, only to see a campfire with several people resting around it, and a lone tent just on the outskirts of the campfire's light. The only reason why he didn't notice the camp before was due to the waning light of the sun setting in the west.

It was customary for travelers to share a good meal and the warmth of a campfire, but the rider barreled past, causing all around the campfire to leap up and hurl insults. Not knowing if the men surrounding the campfire were part of the nomadic group, the Emer refused to stop his horse, and ask as he continued on his way. His horse whinnied, obviously complaining about needing a rest, and yet he spurred his horse onward. "Once we get to the border we will slow, but not a minute before my friend." he said, patting the horse's neck. "Please, just a little longer."

He knew this route better than he knew his own body, and yet so much had changed in the past couple of months. Remembering his last ride through this area, the Emer rider saw that several villages along the border had already been raided, but to see one so close to Enit deserted was a testament to the dangers facing everyone in the three nations of Zoniza, Abun, and even Hat'Ny. Slowing his mount only when he saw the rising hills and mountains of his home nation, the rider patted his animal's neck as the mount shook out her mane.

Now fully into the foothills, and barely three hours from home, the Emer rider finally felt safe enough to slow his horse, but he remained on guard for the following thirty miles. The next three hours would determine his safety, knowing that the nomads were probably still within the borders of Zoniza. He knew that until the nomads were no longer a threat, there would be no feel of respite within Ny'Cyne, his home town, and domain of Lord Nykin.

Within a valley one quarter of the way between the border of Zoniza and the national capital of Ishper, stood the Laylis of Lord Nykin known as Dradyn. His primary town, Ny'Cyne, was little more than a trio of small villages at the base of a fifty-five foot tall cliff, where the lord's estate rested. The entire plateau was a two hundred meter wide by one hundred meter long semi-circle, with most of that covered by grazing lands for the lord's personal livestock, gardens for his food, and a fortified compound. A single tunnel situated at the base of the cliff was the only way to reach the cliff top without ropes.

Upon riding around the crescent shaped chasm that partially encircled the town, the rider finally saw the welcoming torches flickering against the town walls in their sconces. Relaxing a bit, he leaned forward bringing his horse to a gallop. Using his right hand, he reached into his chest for the small stick. Extracting it, he held up the standard of the Cyne riders, with the brisk wind rippling against his cloak, while it unfurled his small flag.

His mare approached the thirty foot tall gate at a full gallop, his entire body leaned down so that he could feel the strength of his mount as she barreled toward the door. Even from nearly a fifty meters away he could hear shouts from the parapets on either side of the gate. At twenty meters away from the portal, the doors started to open. Separating just enough to let him through so that the fabric of his clothes brushed against the wood, the doors closed behind him.

The rider never heard the doors slam shut, nor the wooden beam being fitted back into place. All he knew was that he had to get to the base of his lord's cliff quickly. It took another ten minutes to arrive at the cliff face, but even so, he dismounted before his mare had come to a full stop. He could feel the stiffness in his legs, the constant bucking sending shooting pains into his lower body where only numbness had been previously. Nonetheless, he approached the guard at the base of the cliff while a stable boy took the reins of his mount. He didn't worry about his mare, for she had done her duty and was going to be rewarded for her exertions, but his job was not yet done.

"I bring word from Abun." he announced to the guard at the base of the cliff, while showing him the sealed tube.

Standing a full head taller than the rider, the guard was an intimidating looking warrior with muscular arms kept bare save for a pair of leather gauntlets, and copper bracers around their upper arms. Dressed in a single red jerkin that covered from shoulder to knee, he saw the brown leather armor that covered the male's barrel chest and abdomen, while a leather strap crossed over his body from left shoulder to right hip. A leather skirt, separated into a dozen points rested around his waist, while a single scimitar hung from his left hip. Long ears poked up out of a red and black hooded cloak, while a slender, reptilian face remained covered by a bronze mask that had been painted with distinctive Zonizan symbols. "Lord Nykin said to send you straight up when you returned." the guard announced.

A second guard emerged from a darkened alcove. "Follow me." he ordered in a heavy baritone that mirrored the first guard. Turning, he watched as the second guard took one of the torches out of its sconces, and started for the tunnel to the top of the cliff. Both males could've been twins, considering their height, and muscular builds. The only difference was the designs on their masks. Following without question, he kept close to his escort as they ascended the winding stairs. Glancing to the sides, he saw that roughly every ten feet, alcoves were dug into the stone where the guard stations, bunks, and dining areas were situated.

It took more than ten minutes of the pair passing torches lining the right side before they emerged from the seven foot wide tunnel into the night air. He felt the wind whipping his clothes around his legs, sending scraggly grass waving from left to right as the muscular guard led him straight to the gate of his lord's compound. Once they were five meters from the gate, the guard proceeded to wave his torch in his left hand. He then waited for a few seconds, before giving yet another few motions with his torch. A matter of seconds later, the gate opened to reveal another guard. Upon being escorted inside he blinked.

"Follow me." the Emer rider was sure the guard beside him had just spoken.

Upon turning around, the guard started the long walk to the front door. Both males went down a central path of irregular stones affixed with mortar, their leather sandals creaking with each step. Walking behind the guard, he managed to keep his eyes straight ahead since there was no need to look around. The rider had been to Lord Nykin's compound several times in the past, and would see him more times after this visit, so he had seen everything the gardens had to offer.

Reaching the door, the guard knocked in a preset sequence to indicate the urgency of this visit. It wasn't long before the heavy wooden portal creaked opened, and he saw a female servant beside the door. "The rider dispatched to Abun has returned." the guard grunted, but the young Emer was no longer listening to the male.

His eyes took in the Anu'Dar female as she stood in the candlelit entryway. Dressed in a light purple dress that draped over her nubile bosom, she stood there unashamed of the fact that the sheer fabric left her entire upper body bare. "Remain at the door so that you might escort the rider back." she instructed the guard as she motioned for the Emer to enter. A blush heated his cheeks as he stepped inside, while he mentally fantasized about the beautiful creature joining him for a single night.

Turning ever so slightly, she closed the door as her knee length skirt shifted around her slender hips. A single apron had kept her lower body covered from the front, but that wasn't the same for her back. Blinking, he saw her tail twitch to the side revealing her entire backside, and the sight of her sex from behind. The three groupings of three rings on her tail indicated her station as either an employee, or the head maid of the house, while the numbers of the groups indicated her employer's position in the political arena. "Follow me." the female ordered, and yet she needn't have spoken.

He would've followed even without the order as she started to walk across the main hall. Ascending the stairs, he tried to commit the rounded hips, and taut little rump to memory while his cheeks burned and he felt his entire body shiver under all of his clothes. When she turned the corner, he was only a few paces behind her as they walked down the hallway, the sight of her hips and tail swaying with each step making his pants tighten with a need for release.

"Remember," the female ordered as she turned to look at him, giving the male a perfect look at her profile, "take a knee when you first enter, and stand only when Lord Nykin permits."

Nodding, the Emer rider spoke in a voice that trembled ever so slightly. "O-Of course." Looking at the rider for a few brief seconds, the female Anu'Dar turned, to push the door open, revealing the bed chambers of Lord Nykin. The first thing to hit him was the sweet scent of roses mixed with the heady aroma of incense, and their attempts to cover up the musky scent of sex.

Moans and gasps of pleasure coursed through his ears as he got a glimpse of the entire room. Against the far wall lay a bed with animal furs draped over the edges, while two Anu'Dar females lay against the straw mattress. Positioned above one of the females, his thick purple shaft pushing deep into her lavender slit, while fluid squelched out between them, was the lord. His toned physique moved with practiced ease as he plunged his member deep within the female, as she cried out in unfathomable pleasure.

On either side of the bed sat three nude females apiece. Two female Emer flanked a young Tokaya on his right, while three more Anu'Dar lounged on their pillows, with their bodies displayed for all to see. Just the sight of the females caused his tail to twitch as he took two steps into the room and genuflect while the female servant announced "The rider you dispatched to Abun has returned, Lord Nykin."

For several minutes, there was no change as he heard the squelching and moans of the lord continuing to push his thick shaft deep into the female. After what seemed like an eternity, the female cried out loudly as the Anu'Dar male grunted. "Yes! Fill her with your seed, Lord Nykin!" the female that hadn't been getting pounded urged. The female was silenced by a kiss, at which point she moaned happily.

Breaking the kiss, Lord Nykin looked at the pair of females. "Go take a bath with the rest of the concubines. I have business to take care of right now." he ordered. For a few seconds the pair of females looked as if they were going to argue, but instead, they slipped out of bed with the rest of the Anu'Dar, and both Emer following, leaving only him, the Tokaya slave and his rider, as well as the servant in the see through dress.

Staying on his knee, with his head bowed, the Emer rider held up the message tube while Lord Nykin shifted to sit on the edge of the bed. Once he was resting comfortably, the male looked at the rider. "Rise, and step forward." he ordered, as he managed to slow his breathing.

Rising from his knee, the rider stepped forward and presented the tube for his lord, while his eyes averted his gaze. The onyx skinned Anu'Dar was a decent sized male, not nearly the same height or build of his guards, but still strong and toned. His long ears were quirked forward, while his piercing orange eyes roamed over the tube. Long white hair that stuck to his chest and face fell down to his navel. Completely nude, the rider could see the male's still engorged shaft, the thick purple tip resting against Nykin's abdomen just a little above his belly button, while some white seeped out. Seeing the nine spikes on his lord's tail, he blinked at the sight, knowing the mating significance of that number. 'No wonder he's lord of a Laylis.' the Emer thought silently.

Nykin inspected the end of the tube for only a few seconds before nodding. Holding out his hand, the Emer rider placed the tube into his palm. Opening the container, he pulled out the scroll, and started to read. Several seconds passed as he read the letter a second, and then a third time. "That... arrogant...!" he growled angrily as he crumpled up the letter. Looking up at his rider, he snarled, "Did you not tell her the significance of your ride to Enit?!"

Bowing in subservience, the Emer shook his head. "I could not, my Lord Nykin. Her guards would only permit me to hand the tube to one of her servants while she looked on, and I was not permitted to speak with Queen Kaliendra." he answered.

Gritting his teeth, Lord Nykin clenched his fist, crumpling the letter even further. "Leave me!" he ordered as he threw the ball of paper away. The only one in the room at the time was the young Emer female, and that one didn't look strong enough to take any punishment that he might mete out. As he left the room, he could hear the female remark softly "My lord?" before he heard the doors shut.

The female that had led him to the room stepped ahead of the Emer rider in the hallway, her body still on display. "I shall see you to the front gate of the compound." she announced, heading down the hallway.

Following her, he bowed his head. "I just wish the news had been better." he admitted.

Nodding, the female servant spoke quietly. "You have done as instructed, and that was all anyone could ask of you, Lord Nykin knows that." They were silent for most of the walk to the front doors. "I'm sure he will thank you for your dutiful service once he is in a better mood."

Shaking his head, the rider sighed. "I did my job, and need neither thanks nor reward for that aside from continuing to keep my job." He then smiled at the servant, "But thank you for your kind words."

The female servant nodded as she opened the double doors to reveal the guard beyond. "Get some rest, for I have no doubt that he will send another missive to Enit soon."

Passing through the front doors, he looked back at the servant, her body reflecting the flickering light of the candles and the guard's torch. "Thank you." was all he said heading out of the house and starting for the compound's gate.

Back in the lord's bedchamber, Lord Nykin gripped the edge of the bed, gritting his teeth in frustration. Without asking permission to approach, the orange-red Tokaya female with blue markings stepped forward until she was between his knees. "My lord?" she asked in a soft voice.

Looking down at the young girl, he sighed, letting go of his anger the moment he looked into those soft green eyes. "I'm sorry, An'Jya, but I may be unable to avenge your parents." he remarked sadly. Nuzzling his inner thigh, she shook her head as her nose gently pressed against the base of his shaft, making him gasp.

"Do not think about it, Lord Nykin." An'Jya remarked as she looked up at him, her eyes shining with affection as she started to lightly lick the base of his semi-hard shaft so her forked tongue moved from sac to tip. His scent filled her nostrils, making her hips wiggle with need. A blush heated her cheeks as she gave a little moan of enjoyment. When he placed his hand on top of her head, her tongue had been swirling around his tip with it poised to enter her maw.

"Mmm, you're doing much better, my little one." Lord Nykin remarked. "Did seeing me with those two turn you on?"

"Y-Yes, Lord Nykin..." An'Jya answered, blushing so that the light blue on her cheeks took on a more lavender hue, "but only a little."

"Why only a little?" he asked.

An'Jya blushed more as she looked at Lord Nykin, "Because... I... I wanted it to be me, my lord, and I became jealous that you would fill them with your seed, and not me."

Smiling at her, he gently reached down, pulling her up to sit on his lap. "You know why I cannot take you, An'Jya." he remarked with a shake of his head.

"It doesn't make this any easier for me, Lord Nykin." she remarked. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she gave his cheek a nuzzle, her body shivering at the feel of being so close to what she desired, and yet not being able to have the Anu'Dar filling her. Taking one of his hands in hers, she brought the much larger appendage between her legs until his fingers were against her virgin flower.

"By Reka, you're drenched." Nykin thought aloud.

The young Tokaya blushed crimson. "I want you, Lord Nykin. Even if I cannot have you, I still want you." Leaning in, she pressed her lips to his in a passionate embrace. Trembling in anticipation and pleasure, An'Jya held him close for several seconds before their kiss broke.

Lord Nykin sat there, his forehead against hers. "I want you too, An'Jya." he breathed.

He remembered the first time he had met the young girl, her parents unable to pay their debt had offered An'Jya up shortly before her first menses as a personal servant. Unable to tear his eyes from her, he'd taken the girl as a scullery slave for two years, and then a maid for a year. Focusing on teaching the young girl a trade, Nykin had watched her grow from a scared child to a young woman, her beauty only becoming greater with the more time she spent around him.

Over the years of watching her, there was no doubt in his mind that he wanted An'Jya to share his bed, but he worried about both hurting the young girl, and wanting to wed the Tokaya. If he did the latter, his rule over Ny'Cyne would be finished, and all of his planning for the future would end because of a single night. Even now he felt the desire for her filling him before he pulled away to look at her. "We can always have oral fun, if you're interested." he suggested.

That one offer had An'Jya shivering as she nodded. Moving slowly, he managed to fully slide up so that he was laying on the bed with the Tokaya female beside him. Helping her to lay down his body, he slid his hands over her rump as he gave tender kisses to her inner thighs. Giving a squeak of surprise, the younger female lay her upper body on his abdomen as she licked at his shaft, kissing and suckling his length while her hands caressed his thighs.

His tongue moved slowly, lavishing her netherlips and aroused nub with pleasurable caresses, before he pressed his mouth to her entrance, moaning deeply. Gasping and moaning, An'Jya trembled at the sensations that coursed through her body, her mouth open. Bowing her head, she felt the tip of Lord Nykin's shaft press against her lower lip. Shivering, she slowly lowered herself down, taking his tip and much of his length into her maw. Once more, she swirled her tongue around his length, a moan of lust echoing in her throat as she started to bob her head up and down on his shaft.

Neither of them knew how long they were together like that, but An'Jya broke her embrace with Nykin's shaft as she cried out, with waves of pleasure crashing against her body. It was then that she felt a streamer of her lord's seed erupt out of his tip. Grabbing his length, she wrapped her lips around his tip to suck down every possible drop. Even so, the male had made a mess on the young Tokaya's face.

When the rest of the concubines came in from bathing, the two Emer females helped her off of Lord Nykin, while the two Anu'Dar ministered to the male. Off to the side, she felt them licking her all over, enjoying the feel of their tongues and hands while one of the females rode his face, and the other did the same to his hips. She knew their lord would deal with the affairs of state later, but for right now everyone needed a bit of stress relief, and he was getting that in spades this evening.
