Just a short story about Russell buying some more feminine clothes

A New Look

Russell made his way through the bustling, grand mall that resided near his new home. He was looking for a certain music shop that carried the record he wanted, and upon buying it, was set on leaving right away. He did eye a few shops on the way out, most of them not intriguing in the slightest to him. One shop however, did catch his eye, oddly enough it was the clothing that held his gaze. He normally just wore a hoodie, jeans, and band/fandom t-shirt, but it was kinda getting old. He'd started to wear less of those kinda clothes, and more revealing shirts and such, though not in THAT way. It was even more odd that the shop was mostly for women; carrying more feminine clothes. He didn't entertain his feminine side as much as he could be, and it would certainly be more interesting than the same hoodie and jeans everyday.

He stopped for a moment, debating whether to go in or not, before deciding to just go for it. He makes his way over to the entrance and steps in, eyeing the mannequins and racks. Both held some interesting options, and he couldn't quite decide what exactly would look good on him. He was never afraid of asking a store worker for a little help, and this time was no different.

A short walk to the counter, and a little bit of courage left him introducing the current situation to one of the employees: Len. The stoat was wearing a short sleeved, black turtleneck and skinny jeans. Russell introduced himself, though shy as always.

"Uh, hello. I'm thinking of maybe, buying something here, but don't really know what would look good on me."

The stoat nodded, and then begin walking slowly towards the small, but existent guys section. Russell blushed a bit and then said meekly:

"Well, uh, I wasn't really looking for guy's clothes..."

Len smiled a bit and then nodded, apparently quite happy about this for some reason. The stoat led Russell back to the much larger women's section and began looking through possible options. He held a few up to the cheetah's fur to see how it might look. Though only some of the shirts would've looked good on Russell. Len kept searching for something, and eventually found something that would fit the cheetah well. He held it up and let out an excited sound, to which the cheetah's ears flicked.

Russell looked at the attire, a thin, long, light turquoise cardigan. It did look quite comfy, but the cheetah was not quite convinced it would look good on him. Len urged him to try it on, and so he did; replacing his hoodie with the cardigan and taking a look in one of the many mirrors near him. He smiled a little, seeing as it did look pretty nice on him, but he also needed a shirt to go with it, a plain, colored shirt. The cheetah walked back to Len and said he liked the cardigan, but did need a shirt. So the two went back to rummaging through the store for one. They both decided a plain, (very) dark purple shirt. Russell walked over to the changing room and tried the shirt on; seeing how it fit his body. It seemed to fit him snugly, and so he decided to buy it as well.

He walked out and followed Len back to the register, waiting for the stoat to ring the items up so he could pay. The cheetah handed over 2, 20 dollar bills, which the stoat quickly put in the register and gave Russell back the change. Len smiled at the cheetah one more time before Russell turned and headed out of the store, with something more than his same, old clothes.

As always, constructive criticism and feedback in general is highly appreciated.
