Chapter XXXV: Meeting Thy Lover's Mother

Allison just stood there for several minutes staring at where the young wolf had disappeared. The wolf was ballzier than she thought, him asking her out was one but kissing her? Maybe he wasn't so different than his brother after all...they seemed to share a habit of stealing kisses. She was so focused on her staring she hadn't heard her father step up beside her.

"You okay honey? What did the boy want if I may ask?" He asked. Mother was working late at the hospital, so it was just them which suited her fine. While Allison certainly loved her mother she knew she was very prejudiced against members of the Hidden World. It made sense naturally; she wasn't a part of it and to find out that people who were capable of having complete control over the forces of nature must be terrifying, and that was just the Mages, not even getting into the other magic races that inhabited this world.

"He asked me out," she said blankly, "He also kissed me...It surprised me."

"Did you say yes to his request?" Her father asked.

Even if Allison loathed the term 'Daddies Girl' she truly did adore her father, even when he asked questions like this.

"I did, I surprised myself, he had caught me so completely off guard that I could not help but to say yes," she replied calmly. "I had known he was infatuated with me but I never expected for him to ask me on a date it is... funny thing is he is the first person to actually attempt to ask me on a date. I respect him," she said softly, "He is far more than I first thought."

"Well I'm happy for you honey, he seems like a nice boy from what I saw of him." Her father offered.

It always amazed her that her father had gone from fighting in the Gulf War to baking pretty cakes at his bakery. Though it was clear he had enjoyed his own delicacies as he had grown a bit of a pudge to his midsection, but he still bore most of his military training proudly.

"He seems kind, but he is young, but at the same time quite bright," she said as she stepped away from the door, "But I am hungry, and I would be foolish to let Mason's cooking go to waste. Let us eat, can you heat the food while I set the table?" Her Father just nodded and went to the kitchen. 'What a day,' the coyote thought as she touched her lips. 'I never thought I would be asked out, and I told him yes, maybe Thorne was right, maybe I do have some affection for him?' But she needed desperately needed to stamp that out quickly, she could not risk his safety for her own selfish desires.

"Silly boy, you might actually win my heart, but that could put you at risk... so why do you continue to pursue me, even with your brother's clear disapproval?" She pondered aloud, until her father called her to dinner. Hearing her stomach growl and smelling the delicious delicacies she herself walked into the kitchen temporarily forgetting her predicament with the young wolf.

~~~~
"What was that about?" Ian asked confused. Lucas hadn't moved from where Richard had hugged him, whatever happened at Monet's it certainly made his brother happy? Which was good, much as he disliked the coyote (he respected her sure but she was still a stuck up bitch) he did want his brother happy... He just wished it wasn't her who did that.
"I got no clue," Erin said cheerfully, turning to her Uncle. "So... you are our Uncle and our teacher? How will you work that out exactly? You don't teach 9th/10th Grade classes, Mrs Samson does, but you teach 11th and 12th Grade classes which Lucas sits in. I doubt you would be allowed to show favouritism." Thankful for the distraction he turned towards Dr Közen (or Aydin as he insisted they call him). It was surprising that their new Physics teacher was also married to his love's Aunt, what a small world.
True to form the Anatolian Shepard spoke in neutral tones. "In class Lucas will be just another student, and our relationship will probably not be brought up as it has no bearing in class, I hope that answers your questions." Erin nodded in a satisfied manner before going into another line of questions.
Ian loved Lucas with all his heart but Gods his sister could be nosy.
"So how did you and Auntie Rita meet?" She asked her voice curious.
The man just chuckled at that. "It's quite a long story as we met in college. I was new to the country and I stood out. Things were hard for a young Turkish boy who'd hardly ever left Istanbul growing up. Needless to say your mother helped me adapt and it eventually went further." He said flashing his wedding-band.
"Do we have any Cousins?" She then asked.
Lucas gave her a death glare and the devastation in the other vixen's eyes made it clear.
"No..." The woman said sadly. "We have tried but we have never been able to conceive. I have asked my fertility doctor and he suggested that I might be barren."
A gasp echoed from Erin's mouth and she looked quite guilty at asking the question.
"I'm so sorry... I didn't know!" Erin stated sadly. The elder vixen just shook her head and patted her niece lightly on the back to indicate she wasn't mad.
Growing bored of the melodrama Ian shifted his focus to his beloved. Lucas had done a fine job cooking today...that had to be the most delicious dinner he ever ate. Not only was he sweet and adorable, his mate was a world class chef... He really needed to make that offering to Aphrodite... she seriously spoiled him with Lucas... The goddess of love was swiftly becoming his favourite of the Olympian's, and he fully intended to gift her well.
"Dinner was good love," he said as he embraced the small fox close to him, "And I'm sorry for comparing your food to Chef Boyarde... I had no idea you would try and castrate me with kitchen knives." Lucas just humphed, he still seemed a bit grumpy from that it seemed but he would make damn sure he made up for it tonight...would be the last they would get to share a bed for a while. His mother was coming tomorrow and he was going back to his own house afterwards to handle his grandparents.
"You don't compare a Chef's food to that pasteurized crap. I can't imagine why anyone would by those disgusting frozen dinners," he muttered lightly.
Ian just chuckled, it was kinda cute when Lucas's looked miffed (and wasn't telekinetically throwing knives at him) "Not everyone has the time or money to cook like you do," he offered.
Lucas just sighed and leaned back into him which made Ian quite happy. "I guess you're right..." Lucas said with a pout. Ian just kissed the top of his head and held him tight. He was going to miss his boyfriend, it would be odd not waking up next to him but it was probably for the best.
He looked around. All the adults seem enveloped in a conversation whilst Erin was talking to Greg and Xander. Tyler had let himself out shortly after Lucas had opened the portal for Richard, though he had thanked Lucas for inviting him. He was a nice wolf, despite his utterly massive size. Bored he started listening in on the adult's conversation.
"So I heard your wife is visiting this weekend?" Lucas's father asked. Ian found Evan Mason interesting. From what he had gathered the man was the eldest of four with his sister Rita being the third child. He definitely knew the Daphne they had mentioned. Daphne McKellar he had known she was Irish but it never clicked that she was in any way related to Lucas. He was actually good friends with her eldest son Curtis, though Curtis was a year ahead of him in school.
"Yes she is, her job keeps her in Scotland though generally. I am going to pick her up at the Vancouver National Airport around 20:00," he explained, "Why do you ask?"
"I assume she is not aware of your eldest dating my son?" The fox asked bluntly. Ian's father looked down, clearly uncomfortable at the situation. Lucas was obviously not the only one nervous about Ian's mum finding out, despite Ian insisting she would adore him. "I guess that is a no then...I place my trust in you to keep him safe?"
"Rebecca would never attack a child." Jordan insisted, sounding almost angry. "If anything she will take her wrath out on me for keeping it from her." He continued more calmly. "But Lucas will remain safe. He is a good boy and he makes my son happy." Ian could just feel Lucas's blush. He was really tempted to drag Lucas into his room and make love to him, but he didn't want to be rude... not with Lucas's father around.
He still didn't think the man liked him that much, even after giving him his permission to date Lucas (not that he really needed it, he would date Lucas regardless but it was nice having even a sliver of approval from the fox. He was sure it meant a lot to Lucas who desperately wanted his Mother's approval it seemed.)
"I'll trust you Mansfield." The man stated calmly before turning towards his sister and brother-in-law. "I believe it is time we head home. It is getting late and we still need to move your things into my house. What hotel are you staying at?" Evan asked.
Mrs. Rita just smiled and hugged her brother closely, which made him splutter some as he flushed brightly under his white fur. "Thank you Brother, thank you for opening your house for us! It means a lot." She said softly. "It's the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, it's beautiful but it'd be better staying with family." Evan just let out an impressed grunt.
Ian also knew of the hotel, he and his Father had stayed there for a few days while checking out Greenhart before they enrolled. It was a beautiful place, and he was impressed that they could afford to stay there and Evan seemed to think the same.
"Paid for by the school I assume?" He questioned.
This time Doctor Közen spoke. "Yes, they offered to pay the fee until they could help us find an apartment." He explained. "Of course, it comes out of my pay-check but it was nice of them, and it was a last minute move. Staying with you would save both parties money, so I do thank you Evan." He stated, seemingly remembering the man's request on his name.
"I'd say it would," Evan said before turning towards his children. "Remember, you may stay here Friday, but I expect you home by Saturday night." He told them firmly. "I really do not wish to be alone with your grandparents." Both of them nodded and he hugged both before leaving, once he was gone Ian quickly excused both himself and Lucas before he picked up the fox and carried him into his bedroom. He could hear Erin's chuckle and his Father's sigh but he paid them no attention.
Once he was downstairs he sensed that Richard had barricaded himself in the bathroom. He heard the shower running so he assumed Richard would be in there for a while. Using his telekinesis he opened his door since his paws were full. Once he was in the room he swiftly kicked it closed and placed both a locking and silence spell on it before tossing Lucas onto his bed.
"I'm going to make sure you will enjoy this, this will be the last night we'll share a bed together before Mum comes," he said while he stripped himself. It was quick and efficient and not at all sexy but he didn't care, he just wanted those clothes off. First came his white sweater that his mother had bought him before the move, then went the jeans and underwear (at the same time of course) and then he was naked, his impressive red erection standing out from his black furred body.
He swelled with pride as he watched Lucas admire him before he himself undressed. Lucas still amazed the wolf with his beauty. His figure had an almost feminine look considering how slender he was, and his pink nipples stood out amongst the sea of white and his more modest penis throbbed lightly. Quick as a flash, Ian was on top of Lucas, kissing him while one of his paws were occupied with his nipples while the other reached down to his penis before giving it a quick stroke before moving to Lucas's amazing ass.
Gently he placed his middle finger into the fox to the first knuckle causing Lucas to gasp into his mouth. Ian eventually stopped kissing Lucas's mouth as he kissed down towards the nape of his neck where he gave it a light nip. Instinct drove him to mark his mate both physically and by scent (and how he loved when Lucas smelt of him and only him, it made him so horny.) After that he kissed down his chest, both nipples then moved down to his bellybutton where he gave a light kiss to which made Lucas giggle, Ian had figured just how ticklish Lucas was there and enjoyed 'torturing' him there.
He moved even lower, skipping Lucas's penis and moved right towards that luscious ass. He gently folded the fox over and dove into that bright pink tail star. Lucas gave out a cry of bliss as Ian dug his tongue deeper and deeper into the fox's insides, revelling in the heat on his tongue. He managed to play with his prostate before moving away, right before Lucas was about to cum. Leaning over the fox he pointed his wolf-hood towards the wanting hole. He slipped inside easily and Lucas let out a pleased gasp as he was penetrated.
"I'm going to make you mine," Ian growled as he slowly entered the fox. Lucas just moaned and wrapped his legs around Ian's waist, as if trying to pull him in deeper. Once he was knot deep Ian growled again and Lucas happily bared his throat in submission while letting out happy little pants. Ian slowly began speeding up until he was slamming into the fox with all his strength. Lucas for his part was definitely not a quiet party in all this and Ian was VERY thankful for that silencing spell.
"Ian! Oh god! Faster! Please! Yes! Right there!" Lucas moaned into his ear. Ian just growled deeply as he continued to pound that amazing ass into oblivion. Finally, it became too much and he thrust himself home, knot burying itself into Lucas's bowels. Lucas screamed so loudly in orgasmic pleasure bit almost hurt his ears as he felt Lucas spray his belly with cum. On instinct he bit down on Lucas's neck as he himself came filling the fox so much he could have sworn he saw Lucas's taunt tummy budge from all the cum.
"You enjoy yourself?" Ian asked as he let his fingers draw circles on Lucas's bloated tummy. Lucas could only nod, temporarily rendered mute it seemed by the pleasure. "So..." Ian started, he had thought about this for a while, "What are your plans after we graduate? You planning on heading to Uni?"
Lucas just shrugged, as if he hadn't thought of it much. "I haven't really thought about it much... I was probably going to apply to the Pacific Institute Of Culinary Arts... You see, when I was a kit I always dreamed of running my own restaurant... Thomas always thought it was funny, he always asked if I would be like Gordon Ramsey you know, that scary lion on that Hell's Kitchen show?" Ian nodded, his Father was a fan of the man. "I loved those cooking shows, it's how I got started cooking actually."
"Oh?" Ian asked interested, he had honestly wondered just how his love had gotten so good. Greg was a great cook himself, but his skill came from his training and he was nowhere near as passionate about it as Lucas.
"Yeah, when we were little we had a live-in nanny. She helped raise us whenever our parents were busy with work. We used to watch all these cooking shows those American ones since she was an American herself. Eventually I asked if she would help me learn how to make the dishes in them." He stated cheerfully. "I learned French cuisine first actually, her Father owned a French restaurant and she learned from him. It was fun."
"So what happened to her?" Ian asked.
"We eventually outgrew her. When I turned eleven I told my parents we really didn't need a nanny anymore. By then I was doing most of the cooking myself. We kept in touch though. She married a Frenchman and is living in Paris." He stated before looking at Ian. "Can I cook again? I want to impress her..." He asked shyly. "I'm thinking if she likes my cooking she'll like me."
Ian sighed...here they go again, no matter how many times he insisted his mother would adore him Lucas still was worried she wouldn't, but he would be a fool to turn down a chance to eat more of his cooking. "Sure, you'll have to clear it with Dad and Greg again, Greg gets twitchy if someone else does his duties. He has to be doing everything, so he won't even let me help with the wash, says it's his job not mine.
"Just what all did his training teach him? He seems more like a Valet than a bodyguard." Ian had to laugh at that, he had joked about that and Greg would usually just punch him in the arm.
"They teach a variety of things, cooking, defensive and offensive magic, and keeping aware of his surroundings. A Protector kinda functions as their Masters Personal Valet, head of security and confidante. It's been hard though, he wasn't always so hyper serious, but once he started the training he changed." Ian said sadly he missed his friend before training took over. Back before he wasn't so completely devoted to him.
"A Protector is expected to defend their liege no matter what, risking life or limb is necessary. In return Protectors are given high status and their liege is expected to listen and follow their advice. Abusing their authority over the Protector is considered shameful and not only damages the reputation of that person but the reputation of the entire Clan, and as reputation is everything to the Clans, violators are typically stripped of their titles and exiled."
Lucas nodded, the Council seemed almost feudal in its operation. Very little like the Modern Mundane Governments. "Oh, so he really is your valet basically." Lucas stated.
"Yup, so, want to go for round two?" Ian asked naughtily, all this talking made him horny again and he wanted to make the most out of tonight. Lucas just flushed, which just made Ian laugh and kiss those lips softly.
~~~~

Lucas just sighed as he stared at the clock, it was almost noon and he was still buried underneath Ian's mass. They had gone about five rounds before they finally fell asleep. As he waited for Ian to stir he was already planning out what he would cook. Jordan would be expecting to pick his wife up around 20:00. He had decided French would be the way to go. It was his favourite style of cuisine honestly, and he had everything just about planned.

The appetizer would probably be a light salad something, not to heavy and filling. The main course could be either beef bourguignon or maybe scallops with leek and rice and cooked in a Crème fraiche sauce. He was currently favouring the scallop dish, he knew where he could get some fresh and it would be simple to get someone to fetch them. Desert would probably be île flottante and maybe some red wine for the adults. With all that planned he just patently waited for Ian to finally stir, his ass felt a tiny bit sore from the poundings it had gotten but it was a nice sore.

Finally though the wolf slowly stirred and gave him a dopey looking smile. "Morning love," he said as he kissed Lucas lightly, "How long have you been up?"

"Not very long really, about five minutes. I was thinking about dinner, but I might need one of the agents to fetch a few things." He chuckled as he heard Ian's stomach growl. Hopefully Greg was up so they could get some food (and he could ask for Greg's assistance it was always good to have some help and he didn't want to bother Erin (and maybe Greg would be more willing to agree if he could help).

"Can you tell me what you thought up?" Ian asked cheerfully. "Or are you going to leave me in suspense?" Lucas just laughed with him, it was amazing, how easily laughing came with Ian...it was nice.

"I'll leave you in suspense, now, we got to get this room smelling nice, and we need to shower and get dressed." Lucas said as he made a mental list of everything he needed to do. "I'll also need to make a grocery list so one of the Agents can get things for me." He stated. "I got so many things to do... I need to see if Greg would be willing to be willing to help, goes by so much faster with two people."

He stopped when he heard Ian sigh, "Slow down Love, you got plenty of time," he said as he gently rubbed Lucas's tummy.

"I just need everything to be perfect! I want to make the best impression possible!" Lucas stated, he just heard Ian sigh again.

"You need to relax, you will worry yourself sick!" The wolf stated in a concerned manner. "You just need to be you. Mum sees enough pretentiousness at her job, just act like you normally do, and I know she will love you," he said gently, "Like I love you." He added while kissing Lucas's ear.

They laid there for several moments before the quickly got dressed and rushed to the shower. It was a quick one, as both agreed it would be for the best to not dally. Soon enough they were dressed and clean. Walking upstairs they saw Jonah and Richard playing cards again in the dining room, and surprisingly Xander had joined them sitting next to Jonah even. It was strange, the two seemed to have almost bonded since they had that talk; Jonah hadn't been nowhere near as nasty to the other fox at least. They had also been joined by Agent Wallace. Richard was the first to notice them when he looked up from his cards.

"Hey you two! Wanna join? We're just about to start a game of poker!"

Lucas just shook his head, he had a terrible Poker Face really, and he really did have a lot of things to do anyway. "I'll be busy most of the day, I'm planning on cooking dinner. Do you know where Greg is?"

Richard just pouted, obviously disappointed before smiling again. "He should be in the laundry room, as he was getting things washed last time I checked. What about you Ian? Do you wanna join? We asked Erin and she said she didn't like card games and Dad's driving himself ragged trying to get everything ready for Mum."

"Sounds fun, but I need to talk to Dad."

Richard nodded again before Jonah decided to speak up. "Stop pouting Wolfie, let's start the game!" He chided gently. "They got other responsibilities." With a curt nod the dingo dismissed them before turning his focus back on the cards.

Seeing they were free to go the two split up, Ian in search of his father and Lucas for Greg. Like Richard had said Greg was busying himself with the laundry. The tiger's ears twitched and he turned around just as he walked in.

"Hullo Lucas, good to see you band Ian are finally up, you need something?" He asked as he folded up the dress shirt he had in his paws.

"Yes actually, I wanted to ask if you wanted to help me cook. I already have what I want to cook planned, and it would go by faster with two sets of paws, and Ian is not allowed in the kitchen anymore."

Greg just gave a deep chuckle. "You really enjoy cooking don't you? Sure, I'll be glad to help I hate not having something to do, just let me finish folding these." Greg stated.

Lucas smiled and nodded as he stepped up and grabbed a piece of clothing himself. "Here, let me help, only fair," he said before they started to fold clothes in a comfortable silence.

~~~~
Ian fidgeted around awkwardly. His Dad had gone to pick up his mum at the airport, Lucas and Greg were still busy in the kitchen, and everyone else was otherwise occupied. It had been a slow day overall as he had spent the day helping his Dad get everything set. Agent Wilson had also leant his help while Agent Wallace was on grocery duty. He couldn't wait to see his mother...he had missed her so much. But now he was preparing to tell her he was gay. That made him nervous, despite being absolutely sure she would love Lucas, he was still worried that something could go wrong.
'Calm yourself, things will be okay.' he told himself mentally, it would do no good to be worried, Lucas was worried enough himself as is. He didn't need to make him worry even more. The kit had been through far too much already.
With a sigh he got himself up and started walking around the house. The guys were playing another poker game and Richard seemed to be winning again. He had never been able to beat him in poker. Erin was off into the corner watching them with a keen interest. Shaking his head he walked towards the kitchen. Lucas had somehow managed to make a makeshift ward on the kitchen door so he and Greg wouldn't get distracted.
He was still amazed by just how swiftly Lucas's powers were growing. He had shown marked improvement during training today, though he still could not manage fire. Though he was proving pretty good on water and was making baby steps on Earth. He was just about to go downstairs when he heard a car pull in. His ears twitching he quickly ran towards Richard shouting.
"They're here!" Richard dropped the game completely and started running towards the door. Jonah just rolled his eyes but started fixing up the cards as Ian ran towards the kitchen. Knocking on the ward he shouted out. "Hey! Mum is here! Let's go meet her!"
He heard a bit of cursing on the other side that sounded like Lucas. Someone stepped towards the door, so the wolf stepped back so he wouldn't get clobbered by it when it opened. The seal seemed to dissipate into thin air as the door opened showing a tall tiger wearing a cooking apron. "We're not done yet, it'll be about ten minutes. Keep her stalled until I come and get you."
Ian gave him thumbs up. That sounded simple enough, it would give them time to get things ready, and he really did want to talk to his mother. Greg just chuckled and returned the gesture before he closed the door, the seal returning as soon as he did so. With a sigh he exited the room and entered the foyer. Standing there was a beautiful female wolf with light brown fur and strikingly green eyes, the very same shade he and his brother had.
She was slim, but Ian could tell she was fit. The lady wolf was wearing a simple purple sweater and white pants. She was holding his brother close as he hugged her, and he actually seemed to be crying. The woman was whispering sweet things into his ears as his father beamed at her, obviously overjoyed at having her here. With a twitch of her ears the woman gave him the smile he loved so much, the one he had missed so dearly...The smile of a mother.
"Hey sweetie, aren't you going to hug your dear mother?" Ian didn't even bother speaking before he ran up towards her and threw his arms around her. She snuggled him close bringing both him and Richard closer to her. "Oh, I missed you two so much!" She whispered as she continued to hold them tight. "How's school? And where are you friends? I heard you were sheltering a boy named Lucas, and his sister. Also where is Greg?" She asked as she looked around the foyer.
Richard was the one who spoke before Ian could get his mouth open. "Lucas is still here, he and Greg are still in the kitchen I think! Everyone else should be sitting in the dining room! Let's go meet them!" He said as he managed to squiggle out her grip and gently led her into the house. Ian and his father followed closely behind while Agent Wilson shadowed them silently. Richard and their mother were having quite the animated conversation as they walked.
"Oh, they are cooking? Surely they didn't need to go through with so much trouble..." Their mother stated in a flattered tone. "So what is this Lucas like? Your father didn't seem to want to elaborate about him. All I know is that he is Ian's classmate and he's been staying with you for undisclosed reasons."
This time Ian made sure he got the first word in, only fair since they were talking about his love he figured. "Lucas insisted though, and once you have his cooking you would be very unlikely to discourage him from continuing!" He stated as the smell of the food reached his nose making his mouth water. "He's also really sweet, very shy but always polite, you'll love him!" He stated happily. He caught a glint of a tiny smile on his mother's face but she did not speak which made Ian figured he was allowed to continue. "You see, he and his sister were attacked by Angels on the 14th. Lucas and his sister both got tainted, somehow their father managed to get a hold of a codex that had apparently escaped the purge."
Richard decided then that he would continue the story. "Yeah, Lucas nearly died because the taint was reacting badly with his body, but Allison uh... a friend of ours... managed to purge the taint. We then managed to get Erin cleansed the same day and they've been staying with us since there 15th."
Their mother just nodded as they entered the dining room. Everyone sans Greg and Lucas were already sitting there and Erin naturally was the first to notice. "Oh! You must be their mother!" She shouted as she swiftly got up from her chair and all but ran up to the woman. "I'm Erin! It's so nice to meet you!" She said as she shook her paw.
"It's nice to meet you to Erin!" The older woman stated politely as she on the eager young vixen. "You must be Lucas's younger sister." She stated kindly which Erin cheerfully nodded her affirmation. "I am told you and your brother had problems with Angel's, I'm glad you both are safe." Erin's ears drooped a bit on that, despite claiming not to remember anything about what happened while she was under the angel's influence, Ian had a distinct feeling she remembered a lot more than she let on.
"Yeah we did, your sons saved our lives!" Erin stated in a measured tone.
"So I heard." Ian's mother stated while glancing towards her husband before turning back to the girl. "So, how long until dinner is done?"
Right as she asked that Greg's voice rang from the doorway. "It's done! We're bringing the food in now!" He said while carried what looked like a massive salad bowl. Once he placed it at the centre of table he turned towards everyone. "Everyone eat up, Lucas and I made a 3-course meal. He should be in here in a few minutes, he was putting the dessert in the freezer." Everybody just nodded before Ian remembered that the others hadn't been properly introduced.
"Oh," he said while he directed his Mother's attention towards Jonah and Xander. "Those two are Xander Rose and Jonah Higgins, they are friends of ours as well. Greg, Erin and Monet found Xander in Seattle on the 16th. He's from NYC and Jonah is from Australia. He showed up not long after."
"Nice too meet you both," his mother stated kindly, Xander politely returned the greeting while Jonah just gave a curt nod, not saying anything. Ian's mom took it in stride even when Ian's own hackles rose. Before he could say anything his ears swivelled as he heard someone approaching. Turning around he saw Lucas timidly walk in. His mother just smiled as she approached the young kit. "And you must be Lucas? It's nice to meet you dear," she said as she offered her paw out to shake which Lucas accepted albeit while shaking like leaf himself.
"You alright dear?" His mother asked while frowning.
"I-I'm fi-fine Ma'am!" Lucas squeaked out which made her frown deepen before Ian thought it best to rescue the kit before he fainted.
"Let's eat shall we!" He hollered out. Everyone just nodded and sat down at the table, dinner was a rush of laughter and conversation, but Ian noticed that his mother seemed to have an odd sort of focus on Lucas, who barely even looked up from his plate. After the salad Greg brought out the main course, which was scallops in some tasty sauce with rice. It was especially amazing and Ian's mouth continued to water as he slurped them down. Dessert was a quieter affair as everyone gradually broke into separate conversation. Ian was talking with Lucas and Xander about school while Richard and Jonah were talking about music.
The adults conversation was especially quiet and even Ian couldn't make out what they were saying. Once dinner was finally through Lucas and Greg gathered everything do they could wash the dishes while Jordan had asked him and Richard to join him and their mom in the study. Once they were in Jordan cast a silencing spell so they wouldn't be overheard. Maybe this was when they were going to tell his mom about him and Lucas? He hoped she took it well.
"So how are things at home? How's my father?" Ian's dad stated. "And how's work?"
His Mother just let out a snort at the questions. "Isaac's fine, grumpy as ever, but fine. He's been busy with the Council. They are debating if they should make a direct complaint to the Knights regarding the continued harassment Hunter's." She said before turning to her son. "You collected yourself an eclectic group of friends though my dear, a Changeling and a Dark Mage. How exactly did you meet Lucas?"
"We met on the first day. He accidentally bumped into me and we had the same homeroom and all our morning classes together so we became close."
His Mother just nodded. "He seems like a sweet boy, but is he always so jittery? He looked like he was scared to death of me." She stated sounding a bit hurt.
Jordan just patted her back and explained Lucas's nervous actions. "He didn't mean it personally, Lucas is a shy boy, he'll warm up to you eventually, just give him time, but how is work?"
"Work is the same as ever, busy." The woman said. "I had to work about five cases at once, which was exhausting. I was actually afraid that I wouldn't be able to come here this weekend until Libby offered to cover for me. Ian definitely knew who his mother was referring to. Libby Dawson was a Mundane malamute who worked at the same office as his mother, and they had been close to each other since Uni. They had even played a part in each other's weddings (Libby's knew about the Hidden World, her Grandfather was a big player in the Scottish Knights and Libby's son Carson was a Tahleno... Carson was also gay himself and used to always give him blow jobs and paw-jobs after practice (which Lucas could never ever be allowed to find out).
"That's nice, how's Harold?" He asked, referring to Libby's husband. The malamute had been recovering from a massive stroke when they had left for Canada, and he had still been in a wheelchair.
"He's doing better, lost a bit of weight and he's walking again now. Libby has been keeping him on a strict diet." She stated calmly. "He's unhappy about it of course but you know Libby, she cannot be argued with."
His father just laughed at that. "I know all too well, but I'm glad he is getting healthier. He was overweight for a long time and hopefully this will get his life turned around."
"Me too, but you two enjoying school? How are the teachers? They know their stuff?"
Richard was the one who took that up. "Schools great! The teachers are great and generally friendly! We actually got a new teacher yesterday who just happened to be Lucas and Erin's Uncle!" He let out. "Teaches Physics to Grades 11 and 12."
"That's interesting." The female wolf stated. "What a small world, do you have many other friends that I haven't met yet?"
Richard blushed at that which made Ian snicker (which resulted in Richard elbowing him before he decided to answer once again). "Yeah! Allison Monet she's my classmate! She was the one who cleansed Lucas and Erin! She's pretty awesome!" Richard stated obviously blushing underneath his fur.
Ian couldn't resist the chance to tease his brother at that. "Richard has a huge crush on her." Ian explained before grunting at Richard's second elbow jab. "She is a bit stuck up but she knows her crap I have to admit." Ian stated begrudgingly. "She knows a lot about the Hidden World though, far more than you'd think a fifteen year old would know," Ian admitted, "But it's came in handy as she's a healer also."
"You mean one of those traditional healers? I've heard a lot of good things about them. Libby actually hired one to help Harold heal faster, which is working we'll for him. I hope I meet her soon." The female wolf stated in an interested tone. "But I'm curious. Is Lucas related to that model who was murdered recently? Marie Mason wasn't it?"
Ian gulped at that, of dog it would make the news back home! They had gotten lucky about keeping those damn paparazzi away from the siblings. "Marie was his mother..." Ian stated sadly. "She was abducted by the Cabal...They want Lucas for something as they seem to think they can wipe out all Mundanes if they sacrifice him or something. They used Marie to get to him. We mounted a rescue mission but we got into conflict with the Cabal. They ambushed us and a struggle occurred... she was killed in during it... Lucas... he just snapped and slaughtered everyone there... it was terrifying."
"That's horrible." His mother stated before glaring at her husband. "Why were they the ones fighting!? What about the Knights or the GC!? It's their JOB to handle things like this! Why did you allow them to leave!"
The male wolf just winced before he started talking. "Because Lucas refused to stay behind. Ian and Erin both refused to let him go sooner, and Greg and Richard refused to let Ian go without them. I had no real choice, my paws were tied." He stated calmly.
She just glowered, obviously not happy with his answer. "What was stopping you from keeping him here?"
"Because his mother was in trouble, besides he would have probably managed to go there anyway, but we were keeping a close eye. The fighting started before we could move out and by the time we got there it was over." Ian's father explained.
"He truly killed them all? By himself? I have a hard time believing it... he seemed to timid as if wouldn't hurt a fly but he killed an entire squadron of Cabal agents by himself?" The female stated in a confused tone. "You say he snapped though Ian? What do you mean by that?"
"I mean he literally snapped... it was if he was a completely different person... The power I sensed from him was... it didn't feel like his own... he even told me that it felt his body was acting on his own... his eyes changed Mom, they turned purple when he snapped... It really was terrifying, seeing him like that..." Ian stated, ears drooping from the memory and the meltdown that happened almost immediately afterwards. "Worst of all is that he still sees his Mum...Or a phantom version of her at any rate. I don't know if it's his powers going haywire or not, but she can affect him physically...If she were a ghost he wouldn't be able to see her, let alone be affected, and if it were his powers she still shouldn't be able to affect him."
His mother hadn't said anything, only nodding and once she did speak her voice was tinged with sadness. "That poor boy..." she stated while shaking her head, "Nobody should have such things happen to them, let alone a child..." she said before her voiced firmed up. "However I am curious about something...when were you going to tell me Lucas was Ian's mate?"
