#1 of A favor to pay

Hello everyone! I'm a new writer uploading to SoFurry. I've been reading stories on here, and I've been wanting to try so myself! All the inspiration and creativity just makes me want to do one myself. I originally wanted to do a High school romance, but I might as well do something different - nothing too generic yet :3. I hope everyone enjoys :). It's pretty short and boring in the beginning, but things'll get interesting soon.

I'm open for criticism. I'm new to writing so it will be absolutely needed.

This is also a gay love story, but the beginning is just show casing what's going to happen. So no romance in the beginning..... yet ;)

I stand over my grave stone. Blake Diamond it read. It seemed fancy as to how it was spelled out, and the size of the gravestone. I wonder what crazy salesmen talk them into doing this.

I bend down and run my paws slowly over the printed letters. The "B" was slowly withering away just as the life I once had long ago. Peace and closure is what I had hope to come for. But remembering and thinking about the past doesn't let go of what had happened. The sins still live on with me.

Maybe I was that important to them. Maybe that's why after 100 years, my gravestone is still here. Maybe I was to pass away slowly just the letters would in hard printed cement. Maybe that was their way of letting go of me slowly.

I scan the other graves around me. Oh what a horrible person I am for not bringing them any flowers. Maybe I could get flowers the kind my mother liked. But what kind did my mother like? I can't remember. It's been too long.

It's normal to forget, and that's the cycle of fading away slowly and letting go. I forget the details of my life, the moments I've shared with others, the face-to-face conversations, the emotions I've grasped on. Everything that might help me understand who I am in this new life.

I hear a rustle behind me and find a shadowy figure 100 feet away. It seems it had been the same man that followed me from the train station up from town. He glances as if he was visiting a grave. As if that would fool me. Watching and trusting my instincts have become second nature, but I'll play his game of hide and seek. Maybe he wants to rob me. Who knows? That wouldn't be a good idea. I just hope he's intelligent enough to reconsider.

I walk away from the grave sites and hit he lonely, dark streets. I don't look back, but look at the corner of my eyes to watch his every moment. My tail frizzes all over to run, but there's something about this man I'd like to find out about. I walk into an ally way and attempt to make my escape through a gutter.

"Where do you think you're going?" The shadowy figures seems to finally speak to me, breaking the silence that omitted throughout the night. I spin around with my tail still frizzed, but calmly look at him in a composed manner.

I stare around my surroundings, looking at what I could use as a weapon. I wish I had regretted taking my eyes of him. In a matter of seconds, he spins and kicks me straight on in the chest sending me flying and sprawling onto the floor landing on my back. My tail started to hurt, I landed on it too hard. I roll attempting to run, but he's already on me with his knee on my chest, and his arm locked onto mine.

He removes his cloak, and grins at me - and that's when I partially recognzie him.

"You've learned nothing have you? Never give your enemy a moment of hesitance, or this'll happen." He gets up, and shakes his head. " Get your ass up, and lets go."

I attempt to pull myself up, and brush the dust from my clothes. "I'm not going any where with you. I'm heading off to London for business, I don't have time to waste."

"You were told to directly go to New York, not here, not any where else you please to go. You promised us a favor, remember?"

"It won't take so long, I'll only be there for a few days, maybe a week. I'll be back before you know it, I just need to handle some personal business.."

He spins and looks at me with a disgusting face, but quickly hides it as if he looks angry with me. "I knew you weren't the best guy for the job." He walks down the alley, concealing himself once again. "Don't even bother showing up. He'll probably be dead by the time you get to London, no point in even trying then." He turns, and walks away until his figure disappears.

"Wait a second!" I call, and run towards him. "Wait!" I yell. He doesn't stop. I catch up to him, and walk beside him. "It's only a few days, they couldn't possibly kill him that quick..." I hesitate. "Can they? "

I stare at his face, he's trying to give me a serious mood to throw me off - he's exaggerating. He thinks I'm just another dumb 16-year-old teenage kid. For sure he doesn't like me, but I doubt he likes anyone. He's in for something, and I want to know.

When I agreed to return them a favor because of what they had done for me I was never told anything. I was just told that they will hold a favor, nothing about what it was, or anything they wanted me to. I assumed it was a small favor. But for some reason they believe I have a special attribute that can contribute towards this favor, or a job as what they call it.

"If I'm going to do this, what's your real name then?" I ask. "If this isn't a regular favor, I'd want to know as much as I want."

"For now, just call me X. You'll know more when you need to."

This is more than just a favor I thought. What did I agree to? I could maybe back out right now, but I'll probably be hunted down until I'm dead. I don't want the same thing to happen to me just as what had happened to Kyle. I had already lost him, the love of my life. But now it's time to move, I learned from his mistakes, I'll make sure that I won't fail him.

"Fine. Let's go." I blurt out.

I walk down the street with some ass-hole named X, possibly a guy who's part of the Government that wants me dead. I'm not sure if I trust him, or if I trust myself. But all I know is that this favor is going to require a lot more, and that there's going to be a big price to pay.

"Whatever..." I told myself. Let's just get this favor done with.
