A coyote follows his dreams and his stars to a not so dignified job. Fortunately it gives him time to be around his unrequited crush, but how will he balance professionalism and his feelings?

Hey I'm happy about this story and rather than continue to fully flesh out the entire thing in one draft I decided to edit the first chapter and throw it up here so it gives you guys something to read while I'm working on the rest of it. I think this story will be about 3 or 4 chapters long. I generally don't have much interest in sports but I do like soccer and I felt it would be fun to write about. Given, I don't know much about the professionalism of soccer as I've only really played casually but I don't think my lack of realism will be that important when writing about animal people. Because it is a multi-chapter story and this is the introduction it is a little slow but the next chapters should have a lot more ahem 'action' in them.

Any comments are welcome and appreciated as I'm still writing the rest of it, let me know what you think and I'll happily keep chugging along on the rest of this story.

Athletics is an industry that you don't go into without already loving the sport, and Aiden loved soccer. Wether it was called football or soccer he didn't much care, though he'd rather be part of international games with all their fan fervor compared to the American league. Though to his great delight its popularity had been rising in the states in the last handful of years, at least where he lived. Though he wasn't gifted with skill to match his enthusiasm of the sport he still jumped at the opportunity to work in the local stadium and could be found this foggy morning trudging up and down the seemingly endless rows of seats as he hunted down wayward bits of trash. This job might have been interpreted as 'menial manual labor', which it was, but to Aiden it was a privilege, no, an honor to keep the grounds clean. The young coyote gazed over his shoulder at the great blue-green flag flapping over the darkened scoreboards, bright orange flecks highlighting the grey and blue stylized heron silhouette upon the flag. Even with the pay being just enough for a student to live off of, the job was defiantly worth it.

A sharp whistle rent the morning air. With a snap Aiden turned his head, a smile breaking out on his thin face as the team came jogging on the field. It was worth it for this. Nearly every morning the team would come out and practice for a number of hours while the sun came up. The blue and grey tack-suit clad athletes began their warm up by jogging a few times around field, Aiden stopping his rubbish hunt briefly every few minutes to watch for as long as he thought wouldn't get him in trouble for slacking on the job.

Having followed the sport from a very young age and there was no team he held as closely as the Belltown Herons, the local city team. Only a handful of years back the team could barely afford to keep the stadium maintained but since then a major following had grown in the city making them one of the first celebrated teams in the United States. At least in recent years.

During his brief vigils he watched the team avidly. Magazines and blogs would get the interviews and inside looks at the goings on of the team but he got to see them like this. Their regimented work, the relaxed skill of each player, and even the way they would joke and laugh when the coach wasn't paying too much attention. Aiden knew all he could about the team but admiration blossomed forth primarily for one of the team. Scanning the constantly moving group he could just barely tell them apart from where he was in the stands but he could still pick out his idol. Black tips flecked the top of pointed dusty brown ears as they jutted straight into the air.

The lynx was Alexis Boucher, or simply Alex, one of the newest members of the co-ed league having just signed on with the herons three years ago. She was widely covered in various magazines as one of the strongest new players in the league and as soccer became ever more popular so did she. Aiden pulled his eyes from her and went back to his cleaning. There was no question that he admired her skill on the field more than any of the other Herons but he did cherish a small crush for the lynx in his heart. It took him a while to admit it to himself but he still held his feelings close to his chest, the coyote didn't want to be a typical fan pining obsessively after a distant celebrity so he really didn't think it was anything but a silly crush. Nevertheless his college buddies had actually given him a rather large poster of her, an action shot of her bolting after the ball, her short hair flying, the jersey clinging to her damp fame. It was embarrassing to say the least but he still hung it up next to his bed.

With his trash bag full and the last lane cleared Aiden meandered his way to the basement of the stadium, sad he couldn't watch the team longer but worried that his rather quick to bark boss would see how much time he spent lollygagging. Under the stadium the halls were rough of moulded cement unlike the rather nicer on the eyes plaster and painted metal that the rest of the building showcased, but those were for the audience to enjoy, not for the employees. Down the long halls Aiden walked, emerging out a back door surrounded by half a dozen dumpsters at the end of a long alleyway.

"Hey Aiden," looking around the startled coyote spotted Carlos, another employee with roughly the same status as himself. "Was there a lot of leftover junk from yesterdays game or were you just taking your sweet time?" Short and rather stocky the pigeon stood on his tip-toes to push a few folded up cardboard boxes into the top of an open dumpster.

"Nah it was a pretty average amount." Aiden said nonchalantly hoping to glide over the accusation of laziness. "Did you get to see the game yesterday? I was stuck on campus and I could only get the score live."

"Yeah it was amazing!" The bird's feathers puffed up with excitement as he spoke. "Miller got tackled and the ball went flying out from under his feet," he flashed his broad feathered arms with a flare as if pointing to an visible ball rolling about, "but then Edwards punted it out into the middle of nowhere and out comes Boucher pelting up the middle of the field and she runs the thing straight past everyone and right into the goal! The goalie looked like he'd been hit over the head when he dove the wrong way to catch it!" He ended with a bright tweeting laugh.

"And just what are you two doing chatting away?" Aidens far off look of daydreaming was quickly shattered as the broad shouldered orange tomcat that was their boss pushed his way into the alley. "Carlos, get your ass to loading. We just got in twelve pallets that need to be moved upstairs to the shops." With a quick shifty grin towards the coyote Carlos ran off, hurriedly flattening his feathers. "And you," the tom jabbed a fat finger at Aiden. "Our ball boy no showed today so get to the sidelines." Aiden stared silently, the worried expression he had adopted on the large felines arrival still etched upon his face.

"M-me?" Aiden pointed to his own chest, stupidly.

"Wh-YES! Who else would I be talking to!" The orange fur bristled making his mustache flare. "Now get out there before I change my mind!".

"R-right sir! Yes sir!"

The fog had cleared letting the sun shine down upon the turf by the time Aiden sauntered out of an undecorated maintenance entrance onto the field. Having finished their warmups the team was enjoying a playful scrimmage, though they still used this to practice against each other as much as they could. The coyote's heart raced but his sheer enthusiasm overcame his nerves as the coyote's attention was caught by a girl waving him over. It was another employee of the stadium, Becc, who mainly helped with catering the team and other logistics.

"They sent you to cover? Do you know anything at all about what you're doing here?" she struck bluntly.

"No," the coyote mumbled, "well kinda but not exactly. I mean... What am I doing here?"

With a sigh the large lab began to speak though it was obviously a recital which she had repeated many times before. "You're here to make sure that these guys don't pass out from heat or dehydration, that they always have a new fully pumped ball, and really whatever any of them ask of you."

"Whatever they ask of me...?" Becc waved, apparently trying to clear the air of concern, "Oh just stuff like 'take my coat' or 'find my phone' or uh 'hold back my hair I need to throw up'. Just whatever mundane tasks they need done."

"So basically I'm a manservant." His voice mildly speaking his question of 'is this a higher or lower ranking job than picking up trash' through it's exasperation.

"Uhhhhh, yep," the dog plainly said, "except there's more sweat and flying objects and less fancy outfits."

Looking out over the field Aiden felt the twisted knot in his stomach slowly unravel. The team had split into two, it looked like guys against girls. They had draped their track jackets over the front row of on-the-field chairs and were wearing assorted tanks and t-shirts. Outside of a league game that was loaded with risk it seemed the players were either stretching their wings and trying overly flashy and daring moves or just taking the day slow and lagging behind. Aiden's gaze strayed from the daft handling of the ball on one side of the field to the other less active side. Bent over, hands on her knees, Alex panted, attempting to catch her breath as steam billowed up with each measured respiration. She was clearly winded but the grin on her face and the ready near predatory look in her eyes made it perfectly clear that she was still ready to strike. Her eyes flicked and even a few dozen yards away Aiden could feel her eyes lock onto him and in that second the coyote's cheeks burned.

"Look out!"

Aiden's head whipped around just a second too late as a black and white blur filled his vision. Next thing he knew Aiden was blinking up at the sky with a wicked headache pulsing through his forehead. Vague voices echoed around him as he slowly sat up, gingerly touching his forehead where a bruise was already forming.

"You okay kid?" Looking up Aiden met eyes with a rather well built cougar, concern etched on his face.

"Y-yeah I'm fine," The coyote stammered, now noticing there were a couple more people around him eyeing him, "just wasn't paying attention properly." He ended, sheepishly. The cougar stood his ground though the other team members left readily to enter back into the scrimmage.

"Well you weren't actually knocked out, I don't think you lost consciousness." he said more to reassure himself. "What's your name kid?"

"A-Aiden." Apart from being injured while on the job he felt a bit embarrassed that this cougar who couldn't be that much older than himself was addressing him as 'kid'. "I work here and I'm filling in for the uh, ball boy." Smiling, the cougar clapped him on the shoulder which nearly sent him back to the ground.

"Well take care of yourself Aiden, I'm sure we'll be needing you to take care of us shortly." and with that the cougar darted back onto the field where play had already resumed.

Taking a seat next to Becc, who was giggling under her breath, the coyote massaged his forehead. It wasn't a perfect way to introduce himself to the team but at least he didn't have to do it while he was actually nervous instead of delirious. It was fun watching the team play casually, though not quite as fun as it would be if his head stopped hurting. Every so often Aiden would be called into action, jumping out of his chair, grabbing a spare ball from the sidelines, and hurling it out into the field before going to chase down the last ball which had flew in any number of directions. Play continued until about noon when most of the Herons decided they were done for the day.

It was odd, learning all about the players athletic careers and watching them from either a television set or from far up in the nosebleeds whenever he was lucky enough to score a ticket. Now that he was handing out towels and water while they cracked jokes at each other interspersed with the occasional 'Hey Aiden!' or 'Head feeling better yet bud?' they all seemed much more human and yet much more admirable because of it.

"Your head okay dude?" Aiden turned, water bottles in his hands ready to be offered, but stopped as he was met with Alex, the Lynx toweling off her neck.

"Y-y-yes!" He said, perhaps a bit louder than he'd like, "I'm okay. Just a little bump. Can I get you water or a towel? Of course you already have a towel I um... water?" He offered her one of the bottles he was holding hoping that she wouldn't see the red creeping up on his cheeks.

"Thanks." She took the water, either not noticing his odd behavior or more likely choosing to ignore it. She was a head shorter than he was, something he hadn't noticed before, though her frame was broader than his. "Your name is Aiden, right?"

"Y-yes ma'm. Aiden at your service!" It might've been the fact that he was nervously talking to his crush but he was inwardly cursing his dorky attitude and loudness. Truly he wanted to do a good job as well as be respectful to this skilled sportsman but at this point in time his hormones were at the steering wheel. The lynx's eyes took him in, the deep green puncturing any semblance of courage he seemed to hold.

"You're alright," she gave him what was supposed to be a reassuring pat to the upper arm though it stung through his fur, "you're just a little starstruck. Everyone is like that on their first day, you'll get over it." More than anything the friendly smile she gave him made him melt and he wasn't sure his mouth would be able to form a reply. "Here, take this to the laundry. See you around!" She tossed her towel which landed on the shocked coyote's muzzle before turning and heading into the depths of the stadium.

Aiden was frozen. A deep scent reminiscent of cedar and rain though heavy with musk teased at his nose. It was her scent, and the stiffening in his pants knew for sure that he loved it. He knew that everyone else, including the various employees like Becca, had left for inside the building but he was still afraid of anyone seeing him like this. He reached up grabbing the damp towel before pulling it off his snout. Despite the absence of the cloth the scent remained, drifting hazily through his head. Shaking his head as if to fight off flies he went to do his job, packing up the equipment and towels, though his mind kept straying to his scent memory.

As he drove home later that day the scent of the cloth drifted hazily in his mind. I'm not a crazy celebrity obsessed stalker, why is this effecting me so much? I barely even know the real her, it's just a fan crush. Unbidden his mind raced with images of the lynx though he shook them off. Arriving home he went through his nightly routine, studying, dinner, cleanup, but he still found himself ruminating on her voicer and other qualities of hers. Calming his mind Aiden prepared for bed though it was hard to fall asleep with the distant memory of that musk just barely teasing his senses as he drifted.

The sun was bright. Aiden blinked it away but still could barely see where he was. Beneath him was grass and he seemed to be sitting up. As the world came into focus he recognized the stadium, empty though and at sunset, hence the bright light in his eyes. He had just noticed he was sitting squarely in front of one of the goals when he heard something move. Walking calmly towards him was Alex in full uniform, the black tufts bouncing atop her ears as she stepped.

"Oh uh, h-hi I didn't notice you there." He spoke but she didn't seem to notice. Trying to stand he found that his arms were bound behind his back and suddenly he began to panic. "W-why am I tied up? What am I doing here?" but upon looking up he found the Lynx's nose just inches from his. Raising a thickly furred finger to her lips she hissed for silence, though gently as if to a lover. "I-I'm sorry I don't know what I'm doing here!" He muttered, still struggling against his bonds.

"I said shush." And her voice came sharp, the hint of softness gone. Aiden sat still, paralyzed. "There's a good doggy," and she stroked his cheek with the back of her hand, "you don't want to find yourself on my bad side, now would you." it wasn't a question but a threat.

"N-no. No I-I wouldn't." It was hard to talk with the distraction of her hand on his muzzle. It was only now he realized he was buck naked, his thin frame bare for all to see. A whimper escaped his mouth, embarrassment rising at his exposed fur though Alex continued to play with him, tracing her thumb across his lips. With a sudden jerk Aiden's muzzle was lifted to stare directly into the lynx's face, her eyes showing that same hungry hunting look she showed while playing. A predatory fierceness and eagerness that pierced Aiden's heart and made him whimper. Alex leaned forwards and Aiden felt a new pressure, the soft fur and smooth pads of her paw were gently pressing onto his sheath. He gasped, the building weight on his member was teasing it out of his sheath but his blush was from more than just that. Having her step on his crotch while he was helpless and toyed with sent his heart pounding and flushed his cheeks redder than anything had done before.

"Does my dog like being stepped on? Does he like being humiliated like this?" her scent was strong, it blocked everything else out with its dark woody tones. Aiden couldn't give more of an answer than a pathetic squeak and a nod of the head at this point. "There's a good boy." Her thumb slipped past his lips and he eagerly sucked it as she gripped his lower jaw. It was bliss, he wanted nothing more in his heart than to be hers, than to give up all control to her. Beneath her paw his cock quivered with each gentle rub pushing him closer and closer to the edge.

Her claws raked gently over his cheeks, her saliva coated thumb rubbing its dampness into his fur. Aiden had stopped pulling against his bonds but he quivered both at her touch and at her words. Soft whispers of 'Good boy' and 'You like that, don't you perv.' underlined with deep growls and threats of sharp claws and sharp teeth broke his resolve. He only wanted to obey, to be good for her, he didn't care about his happiness so long as it was for her.

"Hey yote," her voice broke over him in a haze, "let me see how much I mean to you." And with one final push accompanied by a low growl from the lynx sent him quivering and moaning, the pads of her foot sliding smoothly over him.

"F-fuck..." Aiden whimpered out. But something was different, it was warmer and the overwhelming scent was gone. He opened his eyes and sat up, his blankets rolling off his slouching shoulders. Without even having to look or check he could tell his boxer-breifs were drenched and sticky in the front, his pulsing morning wood pushing against the cloth trying to escape. "Fuck!"
