When the final bell rang at 2:10 I hurried out of my 7th period and went upstairs to the science hall. From there I located Ms. Coleman's room rushed in there to help set up for the last meeting of the calendar year and for our Christmas party. I greeted a few of my friends and was ordered to help out with the decorations. I got some ornaments and hung them across the classroom blew up an inflatable Frosty the Snowman. Vanessa Diot, a junior who is also a lesbian, came in with a large rectangular cake that had Santa and the reindeer on it and she set it down on the table. I went over to greet her then I grabbed the GSA banner that said Archer GSA 2013. Vanessa came over and helped me hang it up when suddenly I saw someone pass by. I turned my head to see if I can catch sight of the figure creeping down the hall. I stare for five seconds then turn back to hang the banner when I finally caught sight of the figure and I couldn't believe my eyes. Ian and my eyes locked for a split second before he started to turn to walk off. I start wagging my tail and call after him, "Hey Ian, why don't you come on in we're having a party in here!" I couldn't stop smiling and wagging my tail and Vanessa took a very long look at me then Ian probably knowing why I'm acting so gay right now.

Ian slowly walks in and sits down at a table. I quickly finish hanging the banner with Vanessa giving a teasing look in which I responded by lightly punching her on the arm. Ms. Coleman walks up to Ian and cheerfully asks for his name. "Ian," he replied, his voice nervous yet distant. I walk over and sit next to smiling warmly and waving my hand. "Hello!" I say a little overenthusiastically. "Hey," he replied in the same distant tone. He was staring at the board but from the lost look in his eyes I could tell his mind is in another world. "So what brings you to Archer's Gay-Straight Alliance?" I flat-out ask. He turns and looks at me; his pink hair covering one of his beautiful jade eyes and answers coldly, "Problems." I immediately knew what he was talking about and quickly changed the subject. "So how's Merissa?" I inquired. He blows his hair off his eye and replies with, "She's fine." I know this conversation is going nowhere fast and I understand why he's acting so cold towards me although he kissed me Tuesday not the other way around.

Suddenly Sailor Moon (I swear you'd think her parents are hippies for naming their child after an anime although her surname is really Moon) and our president Charlie Godfrey came in talking with one another discussing something about how one state's supreme court ruled that not allowing same-sex marriages was unconstitutional or something like that. I wonder when our own idiots in Congress will read the preamble of our constitution and read that "All men are created equal" and finally make same-sex marriage legal and a federal law. As usual they arrive when the 2:30 bell rings, signaling that any student remaining in the building must be with a coach or teacher or they must exit to the student parking lot and wait for their ride to pick them up. I wave at the pair and gesture them to come over and sit down and they pulled up chairs then sat with Ian and I. Vanessa came over having to know everything that's going on and sat with us. Charlie quickly introduced himself to Ian and the two of them shook hands then Vanessa introduced herself and I gave her a look.

The room is finally set and holiday music is playing while the rest of the students form their own little cliques, catching up on the latest gossip and discussing the latest news in the LGBT world. We all talk about parents and school and life hoping to get Ian to communicate with us but he won't budge. Finally we decided to have a dance tournament and Charlie connected his Xbox 360 to the projector and sat his Kinnect on a desk while the rest of us pushed the tables to the back of the room to give us all more space. Ms. Coleman changed the channel to video and the Xbox dashboard came up displaying Charlie's background which was him and his boyfriend kissing on the Fourth of July. He turns his controller on and goes into Dance Central. While waiting we all decided who was going to be on whose team and eventually made four teams of five with Ms. Coleman deciding to join in on the fun. Unfortunately Ian didn't get to be in my crew and instead he was replaced with a sophomore named Alex Marlon, Ian being in Ms. Coleman's crew. We did rock, paper, scissors to see which two squads would go first and the Darrin twins went first. We made it more dramatic than it really had to be, Vanessa deciding that she wanted to be the narrator. "It seems that the Darrin twins were destined to go against one another, brother vs. sister. Who will win the dance off? Who will claim victory for the Darrin household? Find out in this week's GSA dance off!"

My team, consisting of me, Sailor, Charlie, Vanessa, and Alex sat in the back with Ms. Coleman's team cheering on the Darrin and people betting on who would win between them. The first showdown was between Lindsay Karen and Etna Bebhinn, two freshman girls who have been best friends since kindergarten. The instructions for the round was to basically copy the dancer's moves in the game and try to obtain the highest points as possible. The song came on and the dancer looked like He-man with his tight briefs and long sword and he was in space and instantly I knew the song. I turned over to Ian who was looking at the dancer like, wtf? The teams in the back started singing Hero by Bonnie Tyler while the competing teams were cheering their teammates along. The round ended with Lindsay winning taking Bette Darrin into the lead however Arnold Darrin was not far behind and by round five the game was tied. Bette and Arnold stepped up to the center and Vanessa couldn't help herself, "The round is tied 200,000 even and it's up to the siblings to claim victory for their team and to end their sibling rivalry for at least a month. Who will win? Who will advance to the finals? Find out this week at Archer GSA!" The directive for this round was to dance to the beat and the game came on with Suit and Tie by Justin Timberlake coming on. The class was in an uproar as the twins were dancing in sync. The song was halfway over and the points still tied when without warning Arnold changed his dance routine in hopes of gaining more points but he failed in the long run gaining victory for Bette Darin. The two shook hands and Vanessa was gonna say something but I decked her before she could.

The Darrins retired to the tables as my squad and Ms. Coleman's team advanced to the front preparing for the showdown. We decided to have the captains go first so Ms. Coleman and Charlie stepped forward in front of the Kinnect and started dancing to Moves like Jagger and at first it seemed that Ms. Coleman was going to win for she was beating Charlie's ass, but Charlie got use to the patterns of the game and ended up scoring higher than Ms. Coleman winning the round. Up next was Alex and Renee Cillian, a bisexual sophomore, dancing to Super Bass by Nicki Minaj with Renee winning the round setting her team 20,000 points above mine. Sailor and Max Lachlan, a straight senior, had to create a move by which they had to copy and Sailor's energetic sprit caused her to create moves she couldn't imitate thus making Max win and setting Ms. Coleman's team 50,000 points above mine. Up next is Vanessa and Zachery Cadence, a gay freshman, had to dance to the beat this round and although Zack can dance his ass off, Vanessa pounded him tying the teams at 180,000 each. Vanessa comes back panting hard saying, "He was a piece of cake you guys shouldn't have worried about me I knew I'd bring us to greatness. Now Avi, it's all up to you bud. That Ian guy doesn't look much like a dancer anyway so go crush him and bring home the glory."

I stepped up next to Ian, who shot me a glance before adverting his eyes back to the screen. Please just be a regular dancing round I don't want to dance to a beat nor imitate my own moves just be a normal round. The round comes up and it's Rock Lobster by The B-52's. I sigh in relief and get ready for the round choosing to be the lobster. The room is in an uproar as we prepare to see who will advance to finals, the crowd booing and cheering on their favorites. The song starts and during the first quarter of it I manage to take the lead; however, Ian gets used to them and catches up rapidly as I try to out-dance him. Suddenly a part comes up where we have to bump butts and wave our hands out and we both peek at each other then go for it. On the third time we did it I noticed something wrapping around my tail and from the furriness of it I could tell it was his tail. Turning as red as a tomato I lose my train of thought and get off sync with the music. The round won with Ian winning placing his team just 5,000 points above mine. I shoot him a look in which he responds by beaming joyfully as his team raises him to their shoulders. My team was totally cool with the defeat and went over to crowd Ms. Coleman who had an announcement to make. "Ok guys it's 3:28 and we have to go soon so unfortunately we can't have a final round so we'll do it by points. Coming in first at 231,000 is my team. Second place with 229,000 is Bette's team. Third place with 228,000 is Charlie's team, and fourth place with 226,000 is Arnold's team. Everyone here is a winner especially with how close the scores were. You all did great and I hope you all have a wonderful winter break." With that people were hugging and conversing while also cleaning up then departing the room making their way to the car pool lane.

I walked with Vanessa and Sailor and I forced Ian to come and join our clique with Vanessa, Sailor, and I congratulating him on his victory over me. We got there and I saw my mom waiting for me and I started towards her car when I noticed Ian patting his pockets. "Damn it I forgot I broke my phone!" he exclaimed aggravated. I walk up to him and ask him if he needs a ride. "I'm fine thank you very much I can walk home," he answered. "Oh come on it will just take a few minutes to get to your house and it's sure as better than walking home plus it's cold out here like in the low forties don't freeze out here Ian!" I pleaded. "Fine," he responded. We walked over to my mom and I introduced her to Ian and vise versa then we were on the way to Ian's house. Ian was quiet the whole trip and when we drove up to his humble abode he got out and said bye before going walking towards his door. I closed the door after him and waited for him to go inside his house when he called me. "Avi!" he shouted. I opened the car door and walked up the steps to his house where he wrapped his arms around me and kissed me making my heart explode. After what felt like forever he pulled back and went inside his house slamming the door on the way in. He's a confusing little fellow I think to myself, dumbfounded look crossing my face as I return to the car.
