#4 of Ian and London - Main Story

Second part of Ian's interview. How will it go?

Ian's Interview: Absolution - Part 2

I had ended up at a cafe in north-downtown Absolution. Being a relatively big city, it had taken me slightly long to get where I wanted to be, approximately 5 minutes from the ASDA complex which was located on the east side of the Whitestone River, a river that ran north to south and exited into the Absolution River which Waterfire was on.

I had pulled into what looked like a quaint little strip mall complex with 4 or 5 businesses. On the very end was this breakfast place which I had heard a lot about.

I had walked in with my bag thrown over my shoulder. I was immediately assaulted by the most Heavenly mixture of smells: ground coffee beans, roasting bread and a slightly pungent cinnamon smell.

I stopped in my tracks, taking in all of the smells.

I looked around, allowing my eyes to adjust to the slightly dim room.

The place was slightly crowded and narrow which only added to the cozy feeling of the building.

I walked forward up to the counter which had several chalkboards above it on the wall.

I looked at the menu which ranged from coffees to different kinds of bagels and breakfast sandwiches.

A very cute white cat walked forward, her brown hair swept sideways.

"How can I help you, handsome?" the cat said, leaning her elbows onto the wooden counter.

"I'll just have a french vanilla coffee and a cinnamon bagel," I said, giving her a smirk back. Either furs were just very friendly and open here or she was hitting on me. Either way, I enjoyed the moment.

Though I am pretty gay, I can still appreciate the woman figure, you know?

"Sure, darlin'," She said in that slight city drawl.

She got up, turning around, moving over to several steaming coffee pots on a back counter.

After a minute or so, she placed a warm bagel and steaming coffee on the counter.

"That'll be 2 bucks, darlin'," she said, once more leaning seductively.

I handed over a 5, "Keep the change, dear," I said back.

Her eyebrows, which could barely be seen, lifted up in surprise, "Why, thank you!"

"Oh, you're welcome," I said, grabbing my coffee with one hand and my baggie with the other. I walked away to find a table. I made sure to lift my tail up high so she could get a full view of my butt.

I love teasing furs.

I climbed a set of stairs to this loft area.

There were several tables with green, comfy looking chairs.

I walked over to one, sitting down, getting comfortable.

I still had 45 minutes to get to the college.

I planned on looking over my presentation for half an hour or so, then driving to ASDA with about 5 minutes to get to the front desk. I was to be directed from there.

I flipped open my laptop, placing it onto the beat up wooden table. I looked at the beat up surface. There were several hearts with initials carved into the table.

I imagined London's initials next to mine: IP + LD.

I smiled as I signed into my computer.

I clicked on the desktop button.

I smiled widely as my desktop picture popped up. I had it on cycle mode but the one that was currently on was a picture I had taken of London licking a vanilla ice cream cone. The ice cream had gotten all over his face.

I snickered at the memory.

Technically it wasn't _entirely_his fault.

Thinking back, I might have 'accidentally' pushed the cone forward as he was opening his mouth to lick it.

He didn't get mad though. Somehow he never did. No matter how much I messed with him or teased him, he was always so calm. I love that about him.

My background changed to a picture of him hiding his face with his paw. I had tried to stealthily get a picture of his face after he had just eaten some soup. He was a mess! And it was hilarious looking.

He knew it was coming though.

At least the picture was cute.

I clicked on the program for my presentation. It opened. I hovered over 'recent projects.' I clicked the one I wanted.

As it was opening, I heard a commotion from nearby.

I looked up.

It was that cat again!

"Yes?" I asked, slightly annoyed.

"You're Ian Providence?" she asked excitedly.

"Um. Yes... Why do you care?"

"I knew I recognized you from somewhere! You were on the news!"

"What?" I asked. I don't really watch TV, except for Netflix or Hulu, so this was _news_to me.

"You don't know?" she asked, a piece of her hair falling in front of her face.

"Clearly not," I said, still confused.

"It's a big deal, you know?"

"No, I don't know. What should I know again?" I asked.

"It's a big deal that the ASDA Council asked for you to present to them! How do you not know this?"

"Isn't this to decide if I get in or not?" I asked honestly.

"Baby," she said, "You're already-" She began, leaning onto the table. Her elbow jammed into my coffee at that second, tipping it forward forcefully.

The lid ejected off; a wave of sweet brown liquid rushed forward like a tsunami.

I breathed deeply in that second, forgetting all about the cat, looking in terror as my coffee inundated my laptop.

I reached forward quickly, pathetically attempting to stop my full coffee from doing any more damage.

I made a whimpering sound as the cat cringed.

I looked down at my sad laptop. The screen flickered then turned black, a sea of brown liquid pooling on the keyboard.

My face lit up in terror as I gently grabbed my laptop, tipping it vertically so the coffee fell with gravity.

"What have you done?!" I exclaimed, not taking my eyes off my ruined laptop. I didn't really care about the laptop, I could buy a new one.

"My presentation!"

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to!" the cat cried, looking around frantically for something to dry the laptop with.

"Oh... I'm so fired," she murmured, taking off her green apron, dabbing at the wet keyboard.

"Please!" I exclaimed, "Just stop, it's ruined! You're not going to fix it by drying the surface..."

I looked at my coffee soaked hands.

Suddenly, I breathed a sigh of relief.

I remembered suddenly that I had recently linked up my laptop to my phone. My presentation was saved!

I got up suddenly, picking up my destroyed laptop. I placed it back into my backpack. Maybe I could get it fixed later.

I glared at the cat who was still mildly freaking out, desperately trying to clean the table and floor.

She saw and mouthed I'm sorry.

I sprinted down the stairs and ran back to my car. I had a chance that things were going to be ok. I jumped into my pink mini cooper and sighed. I looked down at my suit. It was ruined as well.

"Fuck!" I exclaimed.

Calming myself down, I said to myself, "Ian, you can buy a new outfit. You still have time."

Thinking of time, I put my paw into my pant pocket to pull out my phone to check the time. I hadn't turned my car on yet.

I scrunched my face in confusion. I always placed it in my right pocket...

I reached into my left, dread befalling me.

It wasn't there either...

I desperately searched for more pockets on my suit. Nothing.

I bent over, looking in all my cubbies in my car, under the front seat, in the crack in the seat. Nothing.

Panic once more washed over me.

"Where is it!" I yelled, frustrated.

All of a sudden, I realized where it was. I groaned, burying my face in my paws. I had never taken it out of my other pants. Being in such a rush I had completely forgot about my pants, kicked into some corner, forgotten.

"There's no way I can get back to the hotel and back in time..." I said out loud.

So I guess there will be a third part. The more the merrier!
