A wolf loses his job, and his partner, a fox, tries to make him feel better the best way he can.

It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, but a wolf slowly making his way home through a dim street could be summed in only three of them, or at least as far as it concerned him:

You. Are. Fired.

Economic crises, downsizings, efficiencies... things he didn't care about, but ones that had cost him his job. The only thing that Tyler got of giving the best years of his life to a company was just a slight pat on the head and the promise for a job once things got better. They never get better.

Now, the issue was not being finally "let go", as his former employer put it, but something far more important. As he walked next to the bars, the wolf noticed all those young people laughing without a single care in their lives. A bright future awaited them, and the world was theirs to take. And now, he had to go back home to one of these young people and tell him that this was not the case for him.

The relationship he had with Max had always been a rocky one. The fox's parents had never approved of them being together, partly due to the age gap between them.

He's not good enough for you.

This is just a game for him and you're next.

You won't get anywhere if you continue with him.

The ex-foreman couldn't have been happier when Max had enough of his parents and decided to move in with him, yet he now started to understand the boy's parents and, maybe, they were right all along. Could his savings be enough for the two of them while he got another job or the fox finished college? He wondered as he opened the door to their apartment.

-"Hey," the fox said, barely looking away from his computer, "is... everything all right?"

-"I," the wolf sighed, "it's just... I lost my job."

The fox stopped what he was doing, but, before he could utter a word, the wolf ran to the door and entered the bedroom of their two-room apartment. It was the best he could afford for them. When he had a job.

Tyler took off his boots and fell on the bed. He and it were the only ones there, and that's the way he wanted it to be until he figured what to do from now on. He had to find another job, and fast, if he wanted this little make-believe game to continue.

Unfortunately for him, his time alone had to wait because someone dared to interrupt him. The wolf stared for a few moments at the fox and was planning to ignore him for the rest of the day, but he could no longer do so once he felt the boy's wet nose on his soles. Max had always been reluctant to play, or just be near, Tyler's feet in spite of the wolf's pleas; yet here he was willingly taking the man's scent. While the wolf appreciated the gesture, it wasn't the moment for this sort of thing.

Before he could protest, the kid had already started lapping at the socked feet. The wolf had had enough and waited for the fox to start licking the lower parts of one foot before smacking him with the other. That'd make the man happy had he not looked to the sad face between his feet, still trying to worship them. The wolf sighed and decided to just let his mate do whatever he wanted, might as well enjoy it while it lasted, something that the fox did gladly.

Max was making sure to not forget a single spot in Tyler's pads, or between them, and it reminded the wolf of a thirsty man in the desert that had just found water and had to take advantage of it. However, this thirsty man seemed to have found another water hole nearby and decided to go for it instead, after making sure everything was alright with its owner.

The fox got his pants off and proceeded to do the same with the wolf's, since the ex-foreman had only agreed to have sex and that was as far as he would go to spoil his mate, before getting into position. Tyler lied on his back and smiled as he saw Max wince a little when the fox lowered himself into the wolf's cock, before starting to grind it like mad.

Tyler thought about their time together and all the things that had yet to come as he looked at Max - his lover, his fox, his mate - continue to pleasure both of them. A wolf's knot was only one of the things kept them together, so, once both of them marked their lover, they didn't miss it and rested next to each other.

-"You know, I think I might enjoy being like this." The wolf said as he wiggled his toes.

-"Yeah, but you're still job searching tomorrow. Don't forget that we're in this together, and I'll try to help you out as much as I can." The fox said.

-"I know." The wolf gave a small laugh before they both fell asleep, but he couldn't help to think that maybe having some free time was not so bad after all.
