#5 of Ian and London - Our Dates

Ian and London's second date. Looks like Ian's not just out for enjoyment this time. Though I'm sure they'll both find some time to have some fun.

Ian Entry #1 - Date Number Two: Absolution - Part 1

"So... Why did you pick pink?" my beautiful wolf, sitting in the passenger seat asked, slightly bracing himself for a slap or something (Which I would have given him if I didn't want to mess with his mind. Y'know, because that's funner).

Instead, I quipped back, "Why do you have black fur?"

"Wait. What?" London said slightly taken aback, "That... That doesn't even make any sense. They're two completely different questions!"

"Tell me why you have black fur and I'll tell you why I bought a pink car," I said, referring to my super cute mini cooper.

London put his hand to his face, laying his head against the headrest.

"Fine!" London exclaimed, "My mom had white fur which has 2 recessive alleles. My dad had black fur, which is dominant. If you do a Punnet Square..." London droned. I had mostly stopped listening at this point, "you can see that there is a 50% chance their offspring was going to have white fur, 50% chance their offspring would have black fur. I just happened to get one of the dominant alleles. What's interesting though is that I'm a carrier of the white allele like my dad, so there is a possibility I could have children that have white fur."

I made the talking expression with my right paw, the left one still on the wheel. I added at the end, "Like you're ever going to have pups."

London made a scrunchy face which I saw out of the corner of my eye. I smiled at my effect on my wolf.

"Well, technically we could still have children. It wouldn't be traditional, but we could have one of our lady friends carry one of our sperms and get pregnant. Sure only one of us would be the biological father, but we'd both raise him or her like a normal family."

At the sound of such serious talk, I changed the subject, "I chose to buy a pink mini cooper for two reasons. Well, one for the car and one for the colour. I bought a mini cooper because it's my favourite car. I bought a pink one not because it's my favourite colour (although it is one of many). The reason why I chose pink was because right before my mom died in the car crash," I paused a second, "she had just over come breast cancer. The colour of the car is in memory of her battle which she won. Didn't really matter though," I put both of my hands back on the wheel, not before casually wiping at one of my eyes.

"Oh," London said, realizing he had grossly underestimated the reason for the choice.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know that," London continued.

"It's ok. It's in the past. And besides, I have you now," I said, grabbing at his left paw with my right.

Another 5 minutes passed before I realized we were getting closer to our destination. Although it was Saturday, I had planned to stay in the city overnight. And you know what that means! Date night, bitch! And, it was my turn to choose what to do.

I'm not saying London's choice of our first date wasn't good. On the contrary, I still have marks from where he furiously clawed me in the heat of sex. What a beast! On the exterior he's so calm and collected, but when you get him horny! Fuck, it's like the dams burst or something. Some animal comes out of hiding and preys.

No, our first date probably couldn't have been any better. I mean, come on, be serious. We had sex! And I don't mean some casual sex in bed. Like, we did it on a beach! On a fucking towel! Under a sunset sky!

That was most definitely the best sex I've ever had. Well, considering it was my first, I'd say it went pretty well.

I mean, don't think I didn't have relationships before. They just never escalated to that point.

Stop thinking I'm inexperienced!

...

Good.

Well, back to my two day date. Clearly we were in a car. I mean, I put my hands on the steering wheel. Where else would we be? And don't say a boat or plane, because I don't think boats or planes have headrests. Well, actually, fuck! You know what? Just take my word for it!

So we were in a car, and I will tell you we were heading half an hour up Highway I-O8 North. If you have been paying any attention, dear mysterious viewer of our life, you might be able to guess our destination. If not, shame on you. Go somehow view our past events. Why are you here! Why are you skipping over our first ever sex? And don't somehow fast forward to it, make sure to view the whole day. It's all important!

Anyway, we were currently climbing this large hill. I'm not implying that our state was mountainous or something. Au contraire, our state is actually quite flat. Really, this conveniently placed hill just builds suspense.

Oh, look at the suspense rising as we neared the top!

And... we're over.

Suddenly, tips of very tall buildings began to extend into the sky. As the car reached the apex, the whole city of Absolution could be seen in all of its glory.

"I love this city," London said, craning his neck to get the best view out of the windshield.

"Lots of shit to do, too," I commented.

And you can take my word on that statement. Absolution was by far the largest city in our small state. You could even say that our state was more like a city-state, with Absolution, the capitol, comprising almost 90% of the population. Small towns like ours lay sprinkled around Absolution like shed fur.

Absolution IS massive. I can't understate this. It's not nearly as big as New Cork City, about 200 miles or so west of Absolution, but the city was still large, having an approximate population of 400,000 furs with about 1 million in the surrounding region.

Now, compare that to Twin River which only has a population of about 30,000.

Absolution, being located at the north end of Absolution Bay, a large bay which splits our state into two halves, is quite strategically important.

Also beautiful.

The city, the first to become industrialized in the nation, is predominantly made out of very old brick buildings. Several newer buildings have been constructed, but keeping in theme with the rest of the city. Actually, Absolution once had the tallest building in the world. Now it's something like the 20th, but it's still the tallest brick building in the world, standing in at 850 feet tall, with an additional 100 foot tower.

The building is quite famous and defines the Absolution skyline.

The second tallest building in the city is just 400 feet tall, and thus the city's skyline is quite dramatic looking.

The city, which is known as the Cultural Capitol or the City of Art, is most famous for it's extreme number of artists, designers and writers. There are several world famous schools in the city including: the Absolution Architectural College, the Absolution State University of Writing and the most prestigious art school in the country, if not the world, the Absolution School of Design and Art, often abbreviated to ASDA.

It had always been my dream to attend ASDA, and it looks like my dream may have finally come true. I hadn't told London yet, but I had very recently gotten a scholarship for academic success and accomplishment.

I didn't need the money. But it didn't matter. ASDA only accepts the most interesting and accomplished artists.

On average, ASDA often receives over 50,000 applications a year. However, only 2,000 Freshman or so, sometimes up to 2,500 get accepted. The school is very selective. I've been declined each of the 3 years I've applied. But this year was different. I didn't hear back from them like I usually did. Instead, I got a letter a week later than they send out envelopes declining you. It wasn't a letter saying I had gotten in, but it was quite interesting nonetheless.

It had very briefly explained that my application was being looked into further and that I would hear back within a week if I was accepted.

I had gotten an email to come directly to the school the next week. I was asked to bring my best works and present them to some board of furs..

I was incredibly nervous. Especially considering the day was this Sunday. Our date day. I had planned on sneaking off at some point to not alarm London. If I didn't get in, I didn't want him to feel sorry for me. But if I got in, well, then I would tell him.

Our car was now half way down the gently sloping hill, coming closer and closer to the city, also known as the "Red City," as the red bricks in the buildings painted the city a maroon colour.

Absolution, like many other cities, was built on seven hills and consists of seven districts. Big Red, the name of the tallest building in the city, was located at the top of Capitol Hill. Big Red was actually our capitol building. I know it's slightly weird, but Absolution's known for being slightly eccentric.

Even the furs that lived here dressed differently than the rest of the country.

You could say we had our own culture, distinct from the rest of the nation as well. I had always loved our state's openness. Absolution was made up of countless ethnicites, colours, races and species. There was also a very large LGBT community which was very much accepted in our culture.

Absolution was sort of like a utopia in a way. Sure, we had crime, poverty, murders and discrimination. But what city/state doesn't? Our state just had a lot less of it.

We continued down I-08 until we reached the exit to the city which deposited us at the intersection of Capitol Hill and the Downtown District where one of the largest shopping malls in the northern half of the country could be found.

Getting off the exit, we drove down the main thoroughfare that traversed eastward across the city. It took us nearly 20 minutes to reach the other side.

"Where we going?" London asked, trying very hard to stifle a yawn.

I understood. We had been in a car for nearly an hour. That was torturous for anyone. Especially for London, who hated driving, much preferring to walk or bike.

Unfortunately, Absolution was quite too far to bike to from Twin River.

"Somewhere," I said vaguely.

"Oh, come on!" London protested.

"You made me walk for 15 minutes before I found out where we were going," I responded back coolly.

"And you've driven me for 50 minutes, and I still don't know where we're going."

"Fair enough," I said, suddenly pulling the car over close to the curb.

"Huh, we here?" London said, trying to look out the window. All that could be seen however was a series of fancy looking doors.

London opened up his door and stepped out onto the curb. I could barely hear, "No way!"

I opened up my door carefully. Being on the left side of the car, I didn't want to step out into traffic and get hit. That would've spoiled everything!

I slowly and carefully stood up. I stretched. Though I loved my small, little car, it did get sort of cramped in there.

I looked up at the newly constructed building. It wasn't brick, like the rest of the city, but it was made out of a pink cement, so it didn't clash either.

London was looking up at the 30 story building.

"This is the famous FangWood Hotel!" London exclaimed, a bit redundantly, considering the famous FangWood Hotel name hung above the door in large red letters.

"Yup," I said, "And we've got it for the weekend."

"The price must have been astronomical!" London said, quieting down a bit, probably feeling responsible for costing me so much.

"No big deal," I said, "I actually got a pretty good deal," I said honestly. I had a friend who worked in the chain who was high up. He helped me cut the cost by nearly half. I ended up only having to pay 1000$ for the weekend.

I'm not a millionaire or anything, but I'm not going to lie, I do like to spend money on myself. Don't think I drop a grand a weekend. At most, I just pay the mortgage and buy groceries. On occasion though, I'll treat myself to a gift or weekend away from my life.

Now, I enjoyed bringing my life with me. Now that I had London, spending such a large sum of money didn't feel half as bad. It was more like I was spending 500$ on the both of us instead of just 1000$ on me.

And besides, if this weekend goes as good as last, I'd be pretty much set for the rest of my life. Furs that graduated from ASDA are almost guaranteed to get other furs that are willing to pay extreme sums of money, just because they now had the title of graduating from such a school.

London suddenly looked down at his clothes which you would see on any normal fur, a black shirt with a white nature print and jeans.

"Uh, will they let us in?" he asked.

"Of course. I mean, they're getting a grand. I don't think they care about what we look like."

"Did- Did you say A GRAND!" London squealed.

"Come on," I said, dragging him toward the door by the sleeve.

As we passed a fancily dressed up weasel, I gave him my keys to park my car for me.

"A GRAND!" London squealed again as we passed through the spinny doors.

"Sshhh," I hushed him as he began to speak gibberish.

We walked up to the front desk. The counter top was a perfectly cut limestone, with white marble columns set to either side of a red carpet that led from the door.

"Hi!" I said cheerfully, "Providence and Dobrynin," I said our last names, letting go of London's sleeve.

The fancy dressed black panther traced down a list with his claw, "Ian Providence and London Dobrynin?" he confirmed.

"That's correct," I replied.

"Ah, good, well, please enjoy your stay. There is a pool and several jakuzzis on the roof. There is a button next to the landline. Press it and a servant will get you what ever you need at no extra charge. Your room is number 3001. If you have any questions, you can come see me, ask the servant, or call 000 for assistance."

With that, he handed me a pass card.

"Thank you," I said, smiling.

"Could you just sign here?" the black panther said, his words like velvet, as he lifted up a clipboard with a gold pen attached to it. I signed my name neatly.

London did the same, though his name was significantly sloppier. Growing up in the West End, the education system was very poor and thus many students didn't learn how to properly write until several years after a normal age. It didn't help that English was rarely spoken in homes, so often students still retained their accent while simultaneously not being able to practice English except with friends or in school.

London's family was one of the few to learn English with their children. Thus, London learned Russian and English at the same time. Because of this, he didn't get a full on accent, but instead had only a slight one, barely noticeable.

Though he learned the language verbally, he didn't learn how to write until the age of 10, or at least he had told me. His ability hadn't improved much since then. Luckily, painting didn't require much writing, though his other interest, writing books did. Luckily, he had picked up typing much easier. Though his spelling was still poor, autocorrect helped a lot. I had also gotten into the habit of reading and editing his works, which I must admit were pretty darn good.

After taking the clipboard back behind the desk, the black panther gave a slight head nod in approval.

I thanked him, then walked to the elevator.

"We're not taking the stairs," I said to London, who still looked baffled at the price, though I could see his eyes light up at the sound of a jacuzzi.

"I'll race you?" he said cutely.

"Let's just take the elevator," I said slowly, grabbing his hand to make sure he didn't run off to find the stairs.

K, cut off time. I'll post the next segment tomorrow night. Maybe.
