Story by Uniden on SoFurry

Watching the entrance the female receptionist saw a rather intimidating wolf enter the hospital. Looking him over she noticed that he was of a good height and a good build. He seemed to be wearing a what appeared to be rather worn jeans and a harley davidson t-shirt. Walking up to the counter he stopped and gave her a frightening glance.

"Is there a patient here by the name of Mark Uniden?" he asked in a low grumble. This caused the female cat to tense up a little before checking her computer behind the marble toppend desk. As a page came up with the patients medical information . Not wanting to meet the gaze of the wolf she just read the information to him.

"He is in room two fifteen" she said starting to stutter a little under the gaze of the wolf, " g go down t the hall and to the right." Starting off the wolf wears somewhat of a scowl on his face. Turning the corner he reaches the metal elevator. Looking over at the plaque on the wall he reads "Rooms 200-250 2nd floor."

Hitting the red up button he waits rather impatiently for the elevator he kicks on the ground. Hearing a ding he watches a black panther and a yellow lab pushing a guirny rather quickly out of the elevator. Looking at them go out he sees what looks like a lioness but he can't tell with all the strapings and coverings over her.

Entering the elevator he hits the same glowing button the black fox had earlier, sending the metal box upwards. Looking at the pictures of the hospital on the wall he begins to mull over the situation in his head. "what have you gotten yourself into this time Mark, we just don't know when to go slow do you." Chuckeling a little in his stomach at his last comment he noticed the elevator had stopped moving and the doors opened up.

Looking out he saw a fury of different furs rushing around in white coats and scrubs. Walking up to the nurse's station he knocked on the formica tabl top trying to get a nurse's attention. Looking up from her computer screen, the snow white fox in blue scrubs jumped a little at the sight of the, much bigger than her, wolf. Clearing her throat with a feminine cough and asked the wolf what he needed.

Glaring at her he asked, "Which way to room two fifteen?"

Pointing down a hall she returned to her work, happy to be rid of this interesting wolf. Turning around the wolf started down the hall. Passing room after room, some with doors open allowing passerbyers to see the sick or injured furs within, he finally made it to a door with the nubers 215 in white print on the door. Pressing down the lever he opened the door and walked in.

Letting his eyes adjust he saw a smaller fox hugging his husky friend. Going to the foot of the bed he picked up the chart and looked it over.

Looking up at the intimidating wolf the scared fox nudges his friend and points a finger at the wolf. Looking up Mark saw the wolf and a smile grew on his face.

Extending a hand to the wolf, "Legend, what are you doin here?"

Grabbing the hand, "I was in town and figured i would surprise you, but it looks like you surprised me." Kneeling down to eye level with the fox he offered a paw, "Hello im Legend."

Taking his paw nervously the fox answered," I am Fraddas"

Standing back up he watched the husky. "Fraddas give me some privacy with my friend please."the husky said. Nodding his head the fox picked up his guittare and left the room. Sitting down outside he sang songs with his happpy heart.

"So Legend how did you know i was here?"

"Well I got in early this morning and checked into a hotel. Picking out my clothes for today a saw a bulliten come up on the news and had a horrible feeling in my gut. I decided that once i had a chance, I would head over here and see if it was you in the wreck. I always knew you didn't know when to slow down."He said his last statement through a chuckle.

"But I gotta ask." he continued "what's with your little fox friend?"

If it hadn't been for his grey fur, his friend would have seen him blush."Well when I was at Spider's, you know the bar. Well i saw him sitting with his back turned to me at a table but i just shrugged it off. The yesterday morning i was at the gym doing my morning wiegth lift's and there he was, sitting on the bench next to me. So i offered him a chance to learn more about me and he agreed. And then he jumps on my shoulders so i decide to just carry him out like that. I saw something in the look on his face. Remember the look I had the time you helped me through that depression?"

"Yah..."

"Well I saw that look on his face and it captured me. So I put him in the car and took him to the drive-in. Well we get there right. and Rick, remember Rick?"

"Yah..."

"Well he came over and we were talking. Evidently this must have been the moment he was waiting for because, when i turned to ask if he wanted anything, he kissed me! Well I couldn't say anything. And by the time I had regained my composure he was burried in my chest asleep. So I just took him home and had him put to bed. After that I drove home and got in the accident."

Mark continued, "Then this mornin' he came in and gried over me. He didn't leave or eat I have been told until i woke up about twenty minutes before you got here. And when I asked him why he kissed me, he said because he was gay and liked me. But the look in his eyes suggested more."

The wolf didn't know quite how to respond to his friends story. He had been in love before but this was something he had not encountered. "Well um... how do you feel about him?"

"That sthe problem. I just don't know how I feel. I wish this was easier than it is. I mean i don't wanna hurt the guy but still..."

Just then the doctor came back to the room. "Mr. Uniden, I am pleased to announce you can go home, now."

Sitting up in the bed he waited till the doctor left and took off his knightgown. Not embaraced at all of Legend being there for he had seen the husky naked before. Walking over to the lunch table, he grabbed his semi bloody jeans and put them on. Grabbing his hat he dusted it off and put it in it's rightful place.

Walking out of his room with Legend behind him, he stops to look down at the fox strumming away at his guittar. Squatting down he got the fox's attention.

"Hey"

"Hey", he replied looking at his friends beautiful hazel eyes.

"There is no need to be afraid of Legend here, he is my friend and I promise he won't hurt you. He is going to give me a ride home and drop you off at your house."

Fraddas didn'y like that idea one bit, he wanted to be with his friend as much as possible. "can i go to your house with you guys?"

Looking back at the wolf the husky gave him a look, that was all that was needed. They had been friends so long they could read each other just by facial expressions. "Well I don't mind.."

Tacking the fox's guittare and setting it on the wall he picked him up and put him on his wide shoulders before returning the guittare. "Let's go."

Walking to the elevator with his wolf friend beside him, and his fox on his shoulders made the husky quite pleased. Entering the elevator the three friends talked about different things, nothing in particular just small talk.

Walking towards the exit the little fox waved goodbye to the receptionist who had helped him, causing her to smile. Stopping at the curb of the hospital parking lot, Legend told his friends to wait there.

Pulling around in a classic cherry red convertable mustang, he could see Mark's eyes light up at the sight of the muscle car. Placing his fox in the back seat, he jumed over the door into the passenger side. Pulling out of the parking lot and heading to the husky's home, the wolf played a mix cd containing rock and country that lifted the groups spirit's and made them sing along happily.

Turning into the driveway, the wolf turned off the roaring muscle car. Hoping out the husky lifted the fox out of the car and set him down. Tossing his keys to the wolf who was already up the stairs and at the door he ushured the fox to the house. Walking in he took the guittare and placed it in a corner. Turning around he saw the wolf and the fox sitting together talking. Smiling to himself, he left the room and went and got an ice chest. Putting several pounds of ice in the chest from the freezer, he used his fist to pound out dents into the ice. Taking a case of coke he lined one side of the chest with the coke's. Grabbing a six pack he lined the rest with the bottles of beer.

Picking up the ice chest, he threw it over his shoulder and walked o the entrance to the living room. Letting out a load whistle. Walking to his door he kicked it open and walked into his backyard. Setting the ice chest down between two lawn chairs, before setting up another chair for the fox.

Hearing the whistle had brought the two furs on the leather couch to full atenttion and had gotten them to stand up. "Come on." the wolf said to the fox knowing exactly what was going on having done this activity many times before with the husky. Trusting his new friend he followed him out the door into the backyard. Turning the corner they heard a bang and saw the husky with a beautiful colt revolver aimed at the large wheat field behind the house.

"Damn missed!"

Chuckleing at the husky the wolf shouffers the fox to his chair on the left of the husky, before taking a seat on his right. "Give me that before you hurt someone." the wolf said in a playfull voice.

"Hurt someone? Were the only ones for miles."

"Yah but if we are gonna drink that means no guns, remember my rule?"

"Yah, yah."

Getting up he fired one more shot at the field. Hearing a quite thud he yelled. "Yes, got it." Walking back to the house he gave the wolf a high five before dissapering.

Reaching into the cooler he got out a beer and tossed the fox a coke. "Here ya go."

"Thanks."

Setting the revolver on the table he returned to his friend and grabbed a beer. "now Fraddas don't touch the gun if you go in the house ok?"

"Yup don't worry." He replied.

"A toast," the husky said lifting his glass, "to friendship!"

"To friendship" the wolf and fox said in unison before tapping the husky's glass and taking a gulp. There they sat laughing, talking and drinking, as they watched the sunset and the most beautifull night sky ever.

Seeing a star shoot by the fox closed his eyes tightly and made a wish.
