Author's Note: Usuratonkachi means stupid, idiot, dumbass. :)

And here's another consecutive one. Since I had the time and motivation for it. Enjoy! :D

"I can't.. go on.." a gasp slowly yelped out as the filed was ridden with the scars of imminent battle. Gigantic rocks and debris surrounded the living corpse, slowly running out breath. The figure had a chain protruding from his chest, an eerie sight to see. Footsteps were heard closing in a bit on the figure, and next, a maniacal laugh. The blue-haired male couldn't express the fear of death for that much. All he could do was gaze menacingly at the two silhouettes covered in the unsettled dust around them.

"Really, is that all you got in that tank of yours?" one of the shadowy figures said, clearly holding a very boastful tone.

"AHAHAHA!" a high pitched laughter came from behind him, seemingly creating more tension into the atmosphere with his ostentatious laughter. "It's really high time to give up, kid. You're backed into a corner." the male said as he swung his arm across the space before him, clearing out most of the dust that had covered their view. And there they were: Kiyoshi and Raiki. Their target: Jason.

'God.. his personality's drastically changed..' Jason thought to himslef as he slightly cringed at the crazed monster he was facing. 'I'm not sure I'll..' Jason was interrupted in mid thought as he swiftly got back up on his feet and somersaulted backwards. As he landed back on the ground, the impact was sent into his legs, and critically injured him. Repressing the pain, Jason knelt down only helpless to gaze at the sadistic stare his hunter had before him.

Kiyoshi pulled out his spirit sword which was clearly broken out of the ground and threw it up in the air where it dissipated into nothing. The blonde slowly approached Jason as he yanked the chain from his chest, a sword made of his spiritual energy formed once more in his hands. The blade slowly made its way towards the chain as Kiyoshi teased it by sawing it little by little. "I'm sorry, kid. My rules are absolute. Your goal was to survive, and you failed in that endeavor." Kiyoshi said, an evil grin forming on his face. "But don't worry, this will be swift.. and painless."

Kiyoshi's arm retracted back as he prepared to swing with mighty force. "Bye-bye.~" he cooed in a spine-chilling tone as he forcefully swung his sword down at Jason's chain.

Jason's pupils dilated in fear of what was going to happen. He knew death was imminent, and when that chain is cut off, he dies. Was this how everything was supposed to end? Killed by someone he barely knew for about 3 days? This was the fate subjected to him by the gods? Jason knew he had so much more to live for, but the end was naught. He couldn't feel his body due to the exhaustion. His two hunters rarely gave him any breathing room. 'This is what I get for underestimating them.' Jason could only close his eyes and wait for the final blow to be struck.

KLANG!

Jason opened his eyes expecting to see the debris and remains of what once was a chain in his chest. But he only saw a streak of lightning blocking the sword Kiyoshi was holding. Jason could even see the blonde looking flabbergasted at the sudden block. Then Kiyoshi gazed to see Raiki beside his target, his hand stuck out in a chop-like gesture as a lightning scalpel grew from it. Raiki's expression was unimpressed and nihilistic as ever. He only gave both Jason and Kiyoshi an annoyed stare.

"...?" Kiyoshi could only gape upon the teenage male as he stood up drawing back the sword, still looking surprised as Jason was. Then Raiki slowly snapped his fingers as a timer made out of complete electricity showed the numbers: "00:00:00." on it.

"He finished the time 5 seconds earlier, before you swung the sword. Your stupid monologue saved him." Raiki said in a rather spiteful manner, spitting at the ground in an annoyed notion as he clicked his tongue. He turned around and headed for the exit. "I'm going back, you've already wasted enough time here." he remarked as he walked towards the ladder in the far distance, only for him to disappear in a blink of an eye.

"Well.." Kiyoshi chuckled in a very hearty manner as if his sadistic personality had completely gone away. "I.. I think apologies are in order." Kiyoshi smiled sheepishly as he scratched the back of his head.

"No worries. My stupid fool-hardy self got me into this." Jason breathed a sigh of relief as he stood up and dusted himself off. As he copped his chest, he could see his chain was gone. 'Whew.. thank god for that.'

"Now, I think it's going to be awhile before your soul powers are realized. It might not be in the form of the Soul Step, Raiki's spirit chains or my spirit blades. We'll just wait and see, maybe you'll be a special case." Kiyoshi spoke a bit heartily, being happy that Jason had been admitted into the HTFS. A new student, hm? This was going to be changing for both of them. Since Kiyoshi can still see the fire burning within him. It was special.. somehow.

"I think it's time we head back. Raiki's probably waiting for us. I asked him to escort you home anyway." he said, turning around and signalling for Jason to follow.

Jason jogged up front and caught up with the blonde male. "Did you really have to? I don't really have a good history with his kind." he asked, a bit disoriented.

"Well.. yeah. As far as I know, Raiki is the grandson of our leader, but he's not that far from being my lapdog." Kiyoshi said, another one of his rather morbid jokes.

'Ugh.. there he goes again with those jokes of his.' Jason thought to himself as he followed along with the male.

[8:30 PM - AMATERASU QUARTERS]

Raiki, the rather aloof male leaned on the wall, waiting for his two colleagues to return. He seemed a little lax in Jason's admission into the HTFS. A sigh was elected from the male as he slowly looked up the ceiling, his front bangs gliding down and showing more of his face. In complete honesty, he was scared that Jason wouldn't be able to make it. He has seen so much death in that room and someone who was still young as he was entered in that sort of torture. He was 14 when he did that trial, and it still haunts him to this day. But inside, he was glad Jason was safe.

"Oi~! We're back!" a hearty greeting called in from behind as Kiyoshi entered with a fatigued Jason.

"..Hn." Raiki scoffed out as his body parted from the wall and faced the direction of the two males in front of him. "So.. are we done here?"

"Pretty much, yeah." Kiyoshi said plainly as he smiled. "But you need to take Jason home. I am aware of his abilities, but there are more stronger forces out there. You're quite accustomed to them by now, hm?" Kiyoshi hinted as he kept his creepy smile on.

Raiki rolled his eyes as he made his way towards the door, brushing past the two. "Fine." he remarked, the last bit seeming like a slight growl. "C'mon.. usuratonkachi."

"STOP CALLING ME THAT!" Jason said angrily as he pointed at Raiki in a very comical manner.

"Heh.." Raiki snickered as he opened the door and walked outside, not bothering much more with Jason's outbursts.

"That little.. ugh!" Jason exclaimed before stomping his way out of the Bureau's headquarters. Kiyoshi could only smile at both of them as he turned around back to his office, scratching the back of his head.

"Man.. I have a feeling this'll be a long ride." he commented before continuing to walk back to his quarters.

[8:32 PM - BUREAU HEADQUARTERS - GATE]

"Hey! You wait for me, I don't know my freakin' way back!" Jason said, running haphazardly towards the Luxray who was walking towards the gate in a rather cool manner. Jason's clumsiness allowed him to trip on a rock in his way. Losing balance, Jason tried wobble his way back into a balanced position. But he couldn't, he could only watch helplessly in somber acceptance as he falls face first into the ground.

But just then, he felt a shoulder against his neck that slowly pushed him upwards. Then he met his gaze against the unruly Luxray. Jason couldn't help but gaze into those amber hues, as his pupils dilated in its beauty. Truly, a Luxray's eyes did hold such glamour. A sharp and straight stare Raiki made at the male, and Jason couldn't help but feel petrified by those eyes of his. 'Those eyes..' he could only mutter in his head as he slowly pushed back into balance. Then Raiki turned around and shoved a hand into his pocket. His head turned to look back at the Lucario.

"Be more careful next time." Raiki said in a rather unimpressed tone as he continued walking down the gate.

A reddish glint formed on the male's cheeks as he shook his head and ran after the male. "Hey! I said wait!" he called out once again, completely ignoring that intimate gesture from before.. or could he? A lot of stupid things were going inside that head of his. Including that.

[9:45 PM - BOKUNAWA STATION - OUTSIDE]

"I'm just a few blocks from the station... thanks. I'll head on out from here." Jason remarked as he shivered in the cold gust of wind that hit him. It was quite cold at night and so he brings that brown trench coat with him. It was his uncle's, so he gave it extra care. He checked his bag, but he couldn't find it. 'Agh! I must've left it at school. Dammit!'

He could see that his gratitude was replied with silence, so Jason then walked west and towards the direction of his apartment. The city suburbs were a quiet place during night, but it was also very dangerous. But there were people outside, and a few cars here and there. Finally, he was about to be rid of that silent eyesore. He was practically quiet the whole trip back! As Jason slowly made his way back to his apartment, he could hear footsteps behind him.

"H-Hey.. I said I can take it from here, okay?" Jason said with a little fake smile on his face, he really wanted to be rid of this Luxray. God knows he's been through a lot with these types.

"...." Raiki only answered with silence and a shake of his head.

"Goddammit, can't you talk?! You were so talkative when you were insulting me!" Jason remarked, and then realized that came out meaner than he'd like it to be. "Oh.. uh.. I'm.. s-sorry.."

"Don't misunderstand. I have orders. And I am tasked to escort you all the way." Raiki commented, seeing as the male was flustered by his silence. He had always been this aloof, if not provoked. He was cool-headed, in complete reverse if he is challenged.

"I.." Jason was completely silent of his answer. He was military soldier type, hm? He knew that all too well. Being told what to do, and to never question orders. It brought back very painful memories.

"C'mon." Raiki said, heading out in front of Jason but realizing that the male was quite shivering. ".. Weren't you part Fire-type? Why're you shivering there?"

"I-I-I am exhausted, y-y-you idiot. I-I c-can't quite f-focus my e-energy at the m-m-moment.." Jason said spitefully as he tucked himself together his his arms. "Let's just go..-- huh?"

Raiki, showing off his cerulean blue t-shirt designed with a yellow star in its front as he stuck out his hand to give Jason his black, fur leather jacket. "Take it."

Jason slowly stuck out his hand and took it as he looked at the jacket, it smelled of strawberries. Then he looked back at Raiki who was lazily waiting for him to put it on. The lazy male was practically taking out his cerulean headphones.. but he had no music player. It was probably so cold that he had warm his ears up. Jaosn did not expect this compassion from Raiki, not in the slightest. He slowly put on the jacket as he felt the warmth of it. He then realized that this was previously Raiki's body warmth. It was very cozy, Jason couldn't help but exude some pink glint on his cheeks. He wouldn't notice, would he? It was just the cold. And with that, the continued to walk.

[9:47 - JOY'S INN - OUTSIDE]

"Okay, I'm here." Jason commented as he looked back at Raiki who was busy gazing at the moonlight. "I.. um.. good night then."

"You know.." Raiki said, while still staring out on the moonlight. This caught Jason off guard as he gasped slightly then turned his attention of Raiki. "You were supposed to die earlier." he said in a rather somber tone.

Raiki thought back to that moment where he had blocked that attack by Kiyoshi. He knew that there was perfectly enough time left for that, Jason's chain was definitely going to get cut off. But something just urged him to stop that attack. He didn't know why, it was the very first time he'd do something like this. All the other recruits died and did nothing to stop them. Almost felt no remorse after doing those dirty deeds. So why is this person so special from the others? He couldn't shake off the feeling that blocking diversion to buy some time for him was not a mistake.

Jason turned away from Raiki as he looked down at the ground. 'So.. he saved me?' Jason though to himself thinking about this deeply.

"Good night, usuratonkachi." Raiki said from behind as Jason looked back quickly. But it seems he was already gone, like a flash of lightning. Jason then made his way into the apartment building, and then realizing he still had been wearing that black jacket.

"Stupid idiot." Jason said to himself as he shook his head and entered the apartment, with full knowledge that he intended to have him keep it for awhile.
