The Rise of Serpens: The Reptile God Revealed

Serpens Revealed

*Flashback*
Since ancient times, constellations had been a guide for humankind. A beacon of hope. "How wrong these silly mammals were." Thought Serpens. "They have ruled for far too long. It is time for reptiles to reign supreme once more" Through simple manipulation of the mind and the natural human lust for better standing in life, the great god of reptiles had convinced that silly human Cynthia to open that zoo. He initially intended to mutate the reptiles of the world into a new race of dinosaurs, starting with the zoo. Sure a few humans might mutate along with them into lesser reptiles, but that was the carrot he'd dangled in front of Cynthia: an endless supply of reptiles for the zoo. What she didn't know is that he'd kill anyone that did not serve him.
However the power he imbued this zoo with surprised even the snake god. It appeared that humans were more willing to accept reptilian rule than he thought, and the power of the zoo produced an unforeseen effect. The young boy Chris had immediately latched onto the water monitor Karina and within a week, he was a water monitor himself. What really shocked Serpens was not that his power had transformed the human, he'd expected that...but that the boy had eagerly embraced his reptilian self when it began to manifest. He watched Chris tear apart his house and reform it into a habitat fit for a reptile. This amused Serpens greatly. There were so many houses on this planet, so many potential dens and lairs if all humans were indeed as Chris. He watched him fiercely long for Karina when he was away from here, eventually coming to regard her as his mate. The boy was as if he had been born a water monitor.
Of course, this power scared the weak Cynthia and she ran. But not before Hercules, the resident anaconda caught her eye. Serpens had long blessed his namesake animal with hypnotic abilities. Judging by
her reaction, this ability had been boosted by his power. Serpens would watch carefully. If scared little Cynthia converted as willingly as Chris, there would be no need for loss of life. The weak humans would become the new reptilian masters of the world....and when the time was right, Serpens the Reptile god would manifest on earth to rule over his kind.
Serpens was roused from his revere by a surge in his power. He watched the zoo carefully. The reptile area was expanding! "Yessssssss" he hissed in a deep voice. "It appears that with every reptile added, this zoo will expand. There will be plenty of food in the zoo for my children when they break free." He turned his gaze back to Cynthia, now in her house. "One last test. Cynthia will you willingly embrace Hercules, or will it be war?" He hoped she'd embrace him. There would be so many more subjects to rule then. Not to mention the upkeep that a new race of dinosaurs would require. He'd rather avoid that. Another thought occurred to him. "If any human can be convinced to willingly embrace a reptile, then I can imbue all reptiles with a bit of my power, not just the zoo. Maybe I can even use their own media to convince them." He imagined transforming an entire theatre through the use of a movie...This game was going to be fun.
