Daniel barely got his shield up in time as the dragoness swatted at him causing him to slam into the cave wall hard enough it made him cough up blood. He had barely figured out what had happened when she clamped her taloned hand over him pinning him to the stone wall her face inches from his.

Valiceia swung at the swordsman as he put his shield up watching him bounce off the stone walls and smelling his blood as he started coughing. Leaving him no window to recover she pinned him to the stone wall and glared at him as eh brought her face closer. "What have you humans done to my precious daughter!?!" she demanded slowly pressing on him hearing him gasp.

Daniel was wheezing and his eyes were flooded with star from the pain in his chest as he felt the dragoness slowly crushing him and barely registered her words. Luckily the answer presented itself shortly.

Oriana heard the violent battle outside as she curled up in den. *Mother please, save me. But why, why is that human protecting me?* she wondered as he heard the battle and the arguments outside and then she heard her mothers roar and she knew she would be safe so she started dragging herself towards the entrance pain flaring in her impaled thigh as she forced herself on.

Valiceia slowly pressed on the human swordsman. He had still yet to give her an answer and she was about to just finish him and look for her daughter herself when she heard her daughters upset voice ringing from the back of the cave.

"Mother, Don't hurt him!" Oriana cried seeing her human protector wheezing pressed against the wall his shield she had traded him for food laying on the earth beside him having slid off his arm as he started to lose consciousness. "Don't hurt him! He's my friend! He protected me!" she cried close to tears at the sight.

Valiceia turned to see her daughter leaning heavily against the stone wall of the cave her leg a bloody mess and her once gorgeous body splattered with an array of arrows. Hearing her cries at the sight of this swordsman she slowly let him go watching him slip to the ground crumpling and coughing badly as she turned and went to her daughter looking her over.

"Oriana, what has happened to you my daughter!" she cried as she moved over slowly accessing the wounds. Glad to see that none save the bolt in her thigh were of any real risk to her as she started to examine the grievous wound.

"I...I was out hunting and I flew over their camp. When they saw me they started shooting and they caught my leg before I could get away." She said tears flooding her eyes as she kept looking at the swordsman lying on the floor of the cave though he lay still now. "They followed me back here and....He was protecting me!" she sobbed. "Is he...did you kill him mother!?!" she asked quickly becoming hysterical over the young human.

Valiceia looked at her daughter and rubs her head looking at the human swordsman. *A human who'd protect one of our kind?* she thought as she hushed her daughter. "He is not gone, we shall see to him next but first let me tend to your leg" she told her considering her daughters story. "Now tell me everything. Tell me how you came to have a swordsman protecting you from this bandit scum." She said as she started to slowly treat her young daughter's wounds.

Daniel awoke to a symphony of pain and as he forced his eyes open he realized he was still alive lying in the cave. As he became more aware he felt that he was lying against something soft and warm and as he managed to turn his head he realized he was lying against the chest of the smaller dragoness. She had him against her breasts and lying atop her arm. She appeared to have been bandaged and the arrows and the bolt in her leg were gone.

In its place was a large bandage made from what appeared to be bits of cloth from a wagon top and some leaves and material from the forest nearby. He was drawn from his inspection of her by a soft and quiet voice coming from the direction of the cave entrance.

"So your finally awake" Valiceia said as she realized the human was awake and examining her daughter the sounds of his breathing telling her he was still quite injured from her mistaken attack on him. Why she felt so guilty though she couldn't explain.

"Oriana has told me of your trading with her. She also told me how she has helped you to start your keep above her lair and how you defended her in her hour of need"

Daniel looked at the older dragoness and after some difficulty, and with a great deal of pain, he managed a response. "She has shown me nothing but kindness. I couldn't do any less for her" he said as the larger dragoness slowly approached him and seemed to study him before looking at the other dragoness. *So her name is Oriana* he thought.

"You are a very strange man, Daniel master of blades" Valiceia said as she looked at her daughter. "she has never been so close to any male before, Even of her own kind, yet she refused to let you out her sight." She told him as she slowly lay down beside him and her daughter knowing he could no more harm them than an earthworm could a hawk. "Why did you not flee when you discovered what she was?"

Daniel looked at the new dragoness seeing she was as beautiful as the other. As she lay down he also realized that she was as well endowed and curvaceous as the younger dragoness. "Is she your sister?" he asked his voice choked and sounding like that of a frog.

Valiceia smiled at the unintended compliment as she looked at the human realized he was slightly aroused by her as she quirked an eye smirking. "No I am her mother, Valiceia, and it seems you have an eye for dragons." She said watching him look down and blush realizing where he had been staring as he started to stammer a response before she shushed him. "Look all you like but do not move. You are much too injured to attempt such. Rest and we shall all talk later" she said and watched as he nodded then slowly laid back against her daughter her keen hearing catching her sleepily muttered words as he drifted off again. "Mmm night my lady..." he said as she slipped into sleep.

Valiceia studied the sleeping man as she pondered his words. * I have never heard of a human considering us more than beasts. Oriana should have told me when this human arrived that she was risking so much. Though a human protector could prove invaluable...perhaps my daughter was not so foolish in keeping this once close by.* she pondered before she too laid down her last thoughts surprising even her. *He is a handsome male, for a human.*

Daniel awoke the next morning to find himself resting on soft grass with a bundle of what appeared to be furs under his head. The two dragonesses were off to one side, apparently talking until they noticed he was awake. Then they started to come towards him.

Valiceia watched as her daughter approached this young man and slowly lowered her head to him looking him in the eyes. "Are you ok? I'm sorry my mother hurt you but she was just trying to protect me" Oriana said as the man lifted his hand and...caressed her.

"It's ok...just glad you're safe." Daniel said as he slowly rubbed the dragoness' muzzle. "Guess I won't be working on my cabin anytime soon though" he said with a light chuckle which brought tears to his eyes as he started coughing the dragoness soon fussing over him. He was about to ask why she was so worried for him when her mother moved closer to them and spoke first.

Valiceia watched as the human greeted her daughter as if a fond lover and even dismissed his injuries that she had caused. *That does it then* she thought as she slowly approached the two. "Daniel, master of blades I would have a word with you if I may" she said as she slowly sat near the injured human wondering at what her parents would say about a dragoness showing such weakness as she was about too.

"Of course, but you can just call me Daniel. I'm no master with a blade. Obviously I'm not masterful enough with anything to avoid a protective mother" he says smiling softly at her.

Valiceia smiled too then continued. "My Daughter has grown very fond of you, and you have shown yourself to have a dragon's instincts and courage in protecting her against such odds..." Valiceia wondered how this next bit of news would go over and suspected she'd soon be seeing this human in a different light though she knew that if things went well it could very well mean the difference in their survival.

"I'm pretty fond of her too. She has been a great help to me in building my home and she is a wonderful and lovely nurse as well" Daniel says as he rubs the young dragoness whom he could swear was blushing as she lays down sliding him back against her breasts gently.

Seeing the two helped some with Valiceia's distrust and she went on. "Her heat will soon be upon her, I would know if you would consider being her male. In her injured state a male of our kind would as likely slay her as give her child" Valiceia says as she watches the human awaiting the disgust and anger knowing if they presented themselves she'd likely have to slay him to save her daughter in the future.

Daniel gasped and looked at the younger dragoness who seemed to be watching him hopefully then back to her mother. "You mean. I'd be her mate. Her partner? Forever or just until she can take a drake of her own?" he asks his head spinning missing the surprised look of the mother and the hopeful one of the daughter at his answer.

"You'd be her mate until you slew her or one of you died. I would not allow this but I truly think you would protect her and any child she has with your life and she has never shown interest in any other." Valiceia said watching as the human began to rub her daughters side then looked at her.

"I would be honored to have your daughter. So I suppose you will be my mother-in-law then?" Daniel asks feeling the dragoness behind him hug him briefly eliciting a hiss from the pain of it before she released him and he heard her mother's next words which stunned him even more than the warm tongue gently lapping at his neck and the soft in-human lips on his cheek.

"About that, I am already with egg by a male whom I fear will return to take me in my next season and to slay his offspring. I would ask that after you have laid your claim to my daughter you might allow me and my egg into your den... I would yield fully if you would accept and I only ask you spare my child till it may survive upon its own." Valiceia said looking away shamed her daughter now knowing why she was offering herself to this human as well.

Daniel could only stare stunned at the offer until the mother started to look rejected when he finally answered. "I would be happy to accept you...but I'm really going to be a lover to both of you?" he asks surprised when the dragoness turns and smiles nodding vigorously as he saw tears running from her eyes. In moments he found himself between his two new lovers being quite well cleaned by their warm supple tongues and his mind spinning as he realized that he now had both as his own.

"We shall await your claim Master but when you are able I ask that you make my daughter your clan's alpha. She found and desired you and I am but a hindrance. So please accept us both but let my daughter be your first conquest when you are able." Valiceia said feeling less disgusted in trusting this human than happy that not only did he welcome them but seemed genuinely pleased. His scent telling her he was both excited and aroused and he seemed to genuinely accept her though she knew she'd have to soon explain to her daughter of her impending egg lying.

"In exchange for keeping me and my bastard egg I will gift you my own hoarding that you may add to your keep and wealth." She said as she looked at her daughter then him. "We are yours now and always." She said as her daughter leaned down and gently tugging down his breeches gently licked and nuzzled his stiffening shaft. The mother soon doing them same before both lay holding him. She could see he had many questions but she just hushed him and smiled. "Rest and we will explain all when you are recovered"

Daniel just smiled as he felt his eyelids drooping and he rubbed their warm faces as he started to doze off his bodies energy spent from just sitting. "Night loves..." he said as he slipped into a happy slumber not seeing the joyful smiles on their faces or hearing their reply.

"Sweet dreams, my mate" said an overjoyed Oriana followed by the wishes of her mother. "And fast healing my noble lord" Valiceia added as the two lay down to rest with their new mate. One already with child and the other dreaming of a possible child to come.

Notes from the author:

Ok so lets see. we have a badly injured dragoness who can't hunt or fight right now. An expecting mother and a bed-ridden swordsman. Not to mention an apparently less than friendly male in the area. that can only mean a few things. Chapter 5 will be the first with yiff, it will have violence and comedy as well. unfortunately it will also be rather lengthy so expect it to be a week or more. hope you enjoy this and don't worry the mothers sudden change of heart will make much more sense next chapter when her reasons are revealed. hope you enjoyed and as always leave some comments and suggestions or any little dragon eggs bellow.
