Red Moon: Chapter 16

Trevor began to feel as if he was in a Lord of the Rings movie with all of the walking he had been doing. It wasn't like he was tired or even winded, he felt as if he could go at it for days if he needed to. It was just that, mile after mile went by and nothing changed, he was still in the woods staring at the ass of a wolf.

He didn't know why he was so attracted to the swaying mound of toned muscle. He wasn't that kind of guy... was he? He understood liking animals, one of his neighbors had twelve cats, but that was more of a family kind of love. Ms. Connell cared for her cats like they were her children. Trevor was looking at the wolf as if it was something else entirely. He could see how the muscles clenched with each step and how the small pink star would reveal itself every once in a while when the long bushy tail would swish out of the way. Even more were the orbs that's were large enough to hold one in each hand. The fur on those seemed especially soft. Soft enough to rub his face in.

Trevor shook his head. He was starting to freak himself out. He wondered where those thoughts were coming from. He had never looked at animals that way before. As he thought about other animals, even other dogs, he didn't get that same feeling. There was something about this one wolf that was just pulling him in. He tried to think about other things, more important things, such as what had happened over the past few days, or weeks. He didn't even know how much of his past he had lost and wouldn't until he got a chance to figure out what day it was. However, his mind and eyes always travelled back towards the wolf which would look back at him occasionally as if to check if he was still there.

Dmitri saw how Trevor looked at him. Was it confusion, lust? He couldn't exactly tell. Human faces were somewhat of a mystery to him. How the nose crinkles and the brows furrow, it might as well have been an alien language. He had thought that he was getting better as he spent more time with Trevor, but not nearly enough to tell apart faces other than happy or sad. Or scared he realized. Trevor didn't look scared anymore which was good. That might change soon. As the wind changed and blew in from the south at a decent speed, he caught the faintest whiff of both his father and Sergei.

That brought thoughts about how they would react to Trevor being a werewolf now. Sergei would most likely throw some sort of fit like always. He would go on about how Trevor should have been left alone and allowed to live a normal life. His father might be upset, but since he knew that Trevor was his mate and that he was now possible to strongest wolf in the entire pack, he may end up being more understanding.

It wouldn't matter however. If Trevor didn't accept the truth when it would be revealed to him. While the old Trevor had been accepting after some time, this one might be different. Would he up and leave on the plane when he had to go. Shit. Trevor had spoken about friends and family back in America. Could he ask him to leave them behind just for him, a person he had just met?

Sergei didn't have a choice when he was turned and he turned into someone who hated his life most days. Dmitri didn't want that to happen to Trevor. He didn't want to hold him here if he truly didn't want to stay. While his father would insist that he stayed, the old rules about needing to keep any werewolves in the pack no longer applied. There were packs in America and if Trevor did decide to leave, they would be able to keep an eye on him to make sure he didn't end up going feral or turning into a roaming wolf. Other than that, he would be able to go on with his life relatively normal. He would always be a werewolf, but he wouldn't need to let that affect him.

Dmitri gave one last, long look at Trevor before he heard the sound of crunching snow approaching. He turned towards the direction of the sound and saw two familiar shapes approaching. They looked rushed.

The two wolves stopped several paces from Dmitri and Trevor who kept his distance, but didn't run.

One of them, Sergei, raised his nose to the air and gave a sniff which put a scowl on his face. He gave Dmitri a stern look and then snorted. Dmitri caught on quickly and bent back to give his rear a sniff to only then realize just how much he was giving away.

He gave sheepish glance to the other two who began to change form, unaware of Trevor's memory issue.

"Dear, God." Trevor covered his mouth as he began to feel sick again. He took a step back at the sight of two of the wolves begin to change into more human like shapes.

Dmitri rolled his eyes, he had wanted to take it slow to avoid freaking Trevor out too much, but that was too late and he too began to change.

Whether it was awe or being petrified by fear, Trevor stuck around until he was faced with three naked men. "What are you?" He squeaked out and swallowed a lump in his throat that had been rising from his gut.

"Is there something wrong with him?" Sergei asked and crossed his arms, looking at Trevor who avoided eye contact.

"Amnesia." Dmitri said as he stretched out his arm. "Something knocked him on his head and it seems he doesn't remember anything from the past few days." He hit his own head a few times with a knuckle. "You can see the scar."

The Alpha looked over at Trevor as well. His eyes traced the scar. He noted that it looked as if it had been an ugly wound, one that should have been fatal. Now here the human was, healthy as could be, minus his memories. "Yes. I see that now. But, I would like to discuss the more urgent matter on his other condition." He didn't say anything about him being a werewolf when Dmitri gave a quick shake of his head.

"Chat all you want." Trevor crossed his arms, trying to look at their faces not below their waists. "I don't know what stuff I'm on, but I just want to get back to civilization until I can get back home."

The comment, even though it was made out of frustration, stung Dmitri a bit. He needed to make the right impression. "I'll take you back." He said and turned to Trevor.

"Then we came out here for nothing." Sergei moaned. He had been in the middle of packing his meager possession. He was excited to finally be going back to Germany. He was fully aware that things would be drastically different, but to see it again had made his anxious.

"Then I'll change that." The Alpha said to Sergei. "Go scout out the area, make sure no Inquisition agents are around."

Sergei didn't say anything else as he skulked off. While he would have rather stayed a person, scouting was easier as a wolf. He changed form and ran off into the woods.

"You get Trevor back to the city." The Alpha told Dmitri.

"What about you?"

"Before Sergei and I left, I got a message from the German alpha. Wanted to discuss something. I'm going to see what's that's about." He started to walk away, but stopped. "Then we'll discuss the current situation." There was a hint of displeasure in his voice, but just barely.

Just like that, it was just Trevor and Dmitri, alone. They stood there in silence. Trevor was sorting out his thoughts on what had just happened. He had been mostly ignored during the quick exchange that had taken place in Russian. He had only barely been able to follow, but he got the idea that the one that had left first was angry and the other was the boss.

Trevor admitted that he was taking all of this a lot better than expected. While many thoughts of running off had crossed his mind, he felt like this was a familiar situation. He couldn't put his finger on it, but some dark recess of his mind told him that there was nothing to fear from the man who had just been a wolf.

"Ready?" Dmitri asked Trevor with a cheerful tone, trying to appear friendly.

"How far is it back to the city?"

"Ten miles."

Great. More walking. "I suppose so. Lead on." Trevor sighed.

Dmitri caught onto the tone in his voice and thought about if there was something that could possibly help. There was one idea which seemed preposterous to him, but it would test if there was any trust between them.

"If you don't want to walk." Dmitri said with a bit of a blush which seemed out of place on the large man. "I can let you ride on my back."

"No offense, but I'm not one to be carried around on some naked man's back."

"No, not like this." Dmitri waved both of his hands down his chest which caused Trevor to look right at his package on accident. Dmitri quickly brought his arms back up when Trevor looked away. "I'm big enough as a wolf that you could ride on my back." He clarified.

"Riding a wolf?" Trevor couldn't believe that he was giving it any thought. It seemed crazy to ride him like a horse, yet he didn't want to end up walking through the snow naked until nightfall.

"It would save a lot of time." Dmitri pressed.

Trevor gave in and nodded. Riding a wolf would be one of the less strange things that had happened that day and he figured that the werewolf would have killed him already if that was his original intention.

Dmitri shifted back into his wolf form, putting some extra effort into making himself slightly bigger with a wider back to make it more seat like. Trevor watched this time with fascination. How he could see everything move into place. There was no magical formation of body parts other than the tail and that even seemed to stretch out of the man's impressive ass in such a way that it appeared natural. All worries faded as Trevor admired the werewolf's impressive body, his eyes eating up every inch of him. It took all of his will to keep himself from getting an erection. Once again, Trevor shook his head, unable to figure out where those thoughts were coming from.

Dmitri finished changing and looked back at Trevor, telling him that he was ready with his eyes.

Trevor got the message. He walked over to the wolf and set a hand on its shoulder. The fur was coarse, but clean as his fingers dug into it, feeling the muscles tense up under his grasp. He felt awkward. He hadn't even ever ridden a horse. Remembering and pulling the sacred knowledge that he had gained form watching too many westerns, Trevor threw his leg over the wolf's back. It worked well enough and he was seated.

Dmitri nearly buckled. Trevor may not have looked that big, but he was heavier than he looked and the sudden onset of several hundred pounds caught him off guard. There was no sudden gaining or losing of weight when transforming into or form a wolf form. All weight and mass was transferred and in this case, the wolf who had once been bigger than him was now all stuffed into the compact form that was Trevor's small human body. He did manage to stay upright though and after a few moment, he got used to the additional weight.

With no reigns or anything to hold onto for stability, Trevor wrapped his arms around the wolf's thick neck which brought his face right into the fur. The smell was odd to Trevor. It should have been revolting, the smell of what was very similar to dog was overwhelming. While any other person would have retched, Trevor found it oddly soothing. He kept his face planted into the wolf's fur the entire way back to the city.
