Prologue: The year is 2,234.

The land witch the human have dominate is decorated in skyscrapers power by major solar powered plants controlled by each nation's military forces. However some areas around the globe are still used for farming, lumber cutting and coal mining. The creatures that work the plants are known as 'furs' which are the main source of labor.

Created through genetic experimentation to create the perfect soldier in the early years of world war three. Which was later called the genetics wars. Cause of the creatures that were made to fight the war. So in short they were a success. Exceeding almost every human ability physically. With the same thinking power and communication abilities.

The furs were fantastic soldiers and were used for military service till the end of the genetics war. When the treaty was signed. The government seeking cheaper labor and a quick bail out of there debt look to the past and today. Slavery what made the United States one of the riches country in the past could do so again. A bill was made claiming that furs had no human rights after all they were just animals. Si they turned these solders into slaves. Saying that they had no legitimate rights held by the constitution. Which cause civil unrest as over one third of the country disagreed with this act. Furs working to fund a corrupt government and so many people stunned at their government treachery of the constitution. That is about to cause a civil war unlike any other.

"I am Clare grey stone the rose knight. Hear my word and rise up against the corrupt and broken government!" I yell as thousands of fur and humans cheer raising their gun. "I will lead you to your freedom from the gates of hell we shall rise and overtake the thrown of Satan. Let turn this hellish land into a heaven for all and shall the gods curse all those that we slay to a damnation more wicked than our own!" I yell at the top of my lungs. As more cheer erupts over the whole city.

"We tried are protest so they could here are words... But what did they do. They shot us down. Their own people. They denied us the freedom of speech and use military force to kill their own people. They are making slaves out of all of us fur and human alike. They do not protect the people or abide by the constitution. This country is in flames and from it ashes! We shall build a new. A true Republic that will exceed all the others!" I yell through the micro phone.

Leo walking up beside me and ask for the micro phone. "You all did your world a service by helping us take Athens as our own. Please if you would spread the word of are victories. Let all know this is a safe haven for all former slaves and freedom fighters. Someday are whole world will hopefully be free."

As he set the micro phone down the rest of the cheering stops. "So what do we do now". Leo asked looking at me.

"mmm let me think" I say smiling at him. "I got a ideal. Now that I'm free I always wanted to go on a dat...." before I could stop Leo hug me by the waist and we fell into a deep kiss. As if all my worry's, regrets, and pain just milted away. I wish I could always feel like this.

Chapter 1: The first stone

"What going on" I ask as I walk in the doors of the slave halls, Coal dust filling the air Making me cough "You have to get back to work! Leo wants to know why you all are laying around." I say staring at the miners in the back of the common area.

"Oh shut up you damn vixen. Master pet going to get us guys, I'm so scared" Tom a grey wolf sitting in the back snickered.

"Tom did you do this? You dumb ass, are you trying to get whipped again?" I said taken back by his actions. "Listen Clare" Tom said getting up and walking over to her.

"Were not working today! Now don't get that cute little tail of yours all ruffle up. Or mater might get mad" he said with a laugh with other guys around the room joining him. "Go back and tell Leo that it happens to be my birthday. I deserve a day off. After all it the day I was born into this hell" He shouted as he pulled my skirt out and letting it go painfully snapping back in place. Causing laughter to erupted all over the slave house.

Pushing him back into the other jack ass behind him, He just stuck his tongue out at me in a vaguer way." Get back from me you creep. I hope he clips you, you bastered!" I yelled as I ran out of the slave house.

I was so pissed off and upset I ran for what seemed like miles. Trying to put distance between me and the slave house. I crossed a small path to the flower field. Stopping cause I could barely breathe. I was so upset or worn out that I didn't even realize that I was crying. Till a tear drop off my chin and landed on a white rose. For a moment my mind could only think of the rose just that it was so delicate and beautiful yet strong and protective. Snapping out of my thoughts. They automatically went back to Tom.

"He such a jackass, he tries to embarrassed me just because I'm a female and a house slave. Making fun of my tight clothes and the unnatural black stripes under my eyes!" I yell angrily at the ground.

"Am I really that different?" I ask quietly to myself. I sit down in the grass. My short skirt catching the soft wind, am I really that different from the worker's? Leo calls me his favorite fox and treats me nicely. I clean the house and do errands for him like this. But Tom and the others always treat me horribly, calling me is pet and toy.

"My thoughts are giving me a headache." I whisper wiping away the tears, staining my fur dark. As I stand up I walk the rest of the way to the house.

Approaching the entrance I did my best to hide the fact I was crying by trying to wipe away the moisture from my eye. Which did not help one bit. Looking up I took a moment to admire the mansion which was painted mostly black with red and white swirling into each other and then exploding out along with the curved roof. A odd but beautiful design I think. It was originally built to hide the solar panels, But made it look unique Leo always said.

As I walked into the elegant entrance of Leo's house. I had the privilege of living in. All the walls were painted dark red with black trim. Giving it a dark but vibrant fell. While the flooring was all very nice hard wood and the marble stairs. All of it is just beyond mere words.

"Sara hunny so why were they not working" Leo ask sternly coming down the stairs. As if he knew she was coming.

"They said...." choking on my words I didn't know what to say. He walked down the stairs more till he came into clear view standing out in the red room with a white suit on with black embroidery letters on the right chest labeled L.L. regaining my confidents I speak up

"They refuse to work Leo" I said then my ears soundly pressed against my head. Not wanting him to get mad.

"It fine little fox but there will be Consequence's to this, they must need to learn some proper rules and punishments. I've been too lenient on them. Any ideal of who is the ring leader of this is?" Leo asked annoyed

"Um Tt-Tom is the ringleader I believe" I slowly said.

"Of course it has" he said suddenly relaxing." only been three months since I bought him, and all he has done is cause several fights and has caused my favorite to cry. Now he's a leader of a small restraint. Better stop him before he cuts my head off "Leo said with a laugh.

"just kidding but He is resourceful and a leader for sure. He needs to be taught control." Leo sighs calmly

"What do you want me to do sir?" I asked nervously.

"Go clean yourself up. We're going to have a party tonight, here" He said throwing me a key "Use that to get in my room later I have a dress laid out for you, we're going to have an after party tonight with some interesting people." As I look up are eyes met for a second. His green eyes look as if something was troubled him. What was he thinking I wonder as I caught the keys?

"Thank you Leo" I said going up the other flight of stairs.

"Oh yes Clare if tom makes you cry again. I'll make him cry 10 times harder. I can't have him hurting you now." Leo said laughing as he walked downstairs and out the door. As I heard what he said it made me shiver a little. As much as I hated tom I do not want him getting hurt.

I enter the top hall I quickly walked to the shower. Trying to ignore all the pictures and cameras. The one thing I hated about Leo house was the lack of privacy. But it was necessary for there were a lot of expensive items here and slaves that would love to vandalize these them.

I turn and open the door that said 'bathing room' on it and walk in quickly shutting the door behind me and putting the key on the sink. I slid my skirt off and rolled my top over my head. Took off my under cloths and threw them down the laundry shoot and got in the shower I had only a little while to enjoy the bathroom. That was as larger than most bedroom. With a two man tub and stand in shower you could relax for days, with nice smooth rock tile flooring, leading to a large beautiful window and view of the flower field.

It was very nice but not as nice as the warm water I thought to myself as I turn the valve letting the rain like droplets hit me. After soaking myself I lather shampoo all over my body and making sure to massage it through my thick tail. Then taking the time and care to rinse it all out. As i step out of the shower I grab a towel to dry off with then wrap around my chest as best I could. Going to the mirror I stare at myself for a minute. I always enjoyed my eyes for they were light blue like a clean pond in the middle of a field. Then I grabbed the brush and began working on my hair and fur. Smoothing out my muzzle fur.

I looked at my soft orange fur that goes all the way around my head to the side of my head and wonder why my marking dint look like a regular fox. For each side of my face a dark path of fur grow that swirled. But beyond that I was a normal fox with a white chest that make my blue eye's look brighter. I then grab the brush to work on my brown thick hair so I could get it to lay just right so that it would not get in my face. Taking the key off the sink I wrap the towel around my chest tighter. Then i dart across the hall to Leo room.

After unlocking the door I walk in to the Leo bed room, it felt odd. Why I don't know it felt like there were eyes on me from every direction. I just ignored as I was use to it. I walk up to the purple draped bed to look at the dress. It was white with gold lining on the sleeves of it. Making it almost glow in the light. I put on my black undergarments that were laid atop of the dress.

Then I put on the dress itself, making sure to pull my tail through the tail hole in the back. Realizing I forgot to brush my tail which was in a mess. Going back to the bathroom I look in the mirror realizing how much the dress really showed off my breast. Making them stick out "god why!" I say to myself. But as look at myself in the mirror again I wish I could dress like this every day. Then the thought hit me, Wait why had he given me such a fancy dress, Usually I server drinks unless I'm serving in this. No that not right, what is he planning, I think as I leave the bathroom to go to my room.

As I entered the room, I felt the relief of not having the camera's on me anymore. I decide to walk over to my bed and lay down; "I loved my blankets" I whisper to myself. There so soft and warm I think closing my eyes.

As I open my eyes I look over at the clock on my side table the glowing numbers said it was 4:33 pm. "Gosh" I whisper to myself. It has been three hours since I first left to go the slave house. Now that I think about it I feel kind of bad about what I said to Tom, I don't know what he goes through daily. But he makes it so hard to get along with. He treats me like I'm the one who put the chains on him. Ever since he first saw me he has been making my life horrible with his sexual comments and stupid jokes. He's one of the only ones to say it to my face.

Probably because I get treated so well as a house slave. But three years ago, before I lived here I was a slave on a dairy farm. I use to working from sun rise till sun down. That was where I was born and was raised; I was evens beaten. Regularly by the master son.

They used the most horrible kind of whips thorn whips,

"God that was horrible" I whisper to myself shaking a little. But then the son's father died and he lost almost everything to the government because his dad never filed anything in his son name, I was part of that.

I was held in the local slave auction house for weeks which was the most horrifying thing ever, they kept us in these very small dirt floor cages and expect you to use the ground you slept on as a toilet. It was bad compared to the labor I did on the farm; I rather worked there till I die than live like that. Lucky for me there was an auction about 2 weeks after I came. That was when I first met Leo.

They had me collared to a metal rod that was on a rotation belt that forced me on the stage of the auction house. It was large and the crowd even larger. Many slavers eyed as a object that gave the most horrifying chills I ever had in my life.

I only prayed to myself they wouldn't use me for anything other than labor. After all we were property and you could do whatever you wanted with property. As the auction began it started at 11,000usd and quickly rose to 14,000usd then 18,000usd as I looked up.

There were two individual buyers and a company biding on me Leo and Rose Vine heart. The company was Rods industry the world largest metal ore mining and metal forging company in the world and also the world biggest slave users. The government most profitable business and one of the reasons why we are still slaves today. Leo had the highest bid by the end of it all paying $45,000usd for me.

When they brought me out to him I wasn't expecting him to be so kind, he spoke to me like a person and once we were in his car he took off all my restraints. Saying "I don't believe in chaining slaves, unless if it was necessary."

I couldn't help myself by yelling at him" But were slaves we have no rights and you know that. What am I to you a toy or a fucking work horse!?"

At that he looked at me with a horrid face. His chin length hair hitting his face like a whip as he turned his head peering over his glass at me. "Listen here I'm not out to buy slaves as TOYS as you called them but yes I do use slaves as a business profit. I hate what I'm doing working other people to death to provide for my own needs. But listen hear or get out now. I am trying my best to make a world that is free. I want a world where everyone can enjoy the same rights. But in order to do that it takes more than one man it takes army of ether paper or guns."

"If I am to believe that why do you buy slaves and use them to your own advantage" I asked lower my voice preparing to get hit.

"I'm sorry I exploded like that. I'm sorry I own buy and have slaves. But like I said in order to meet my goals I need slaves. But I will make you a promise. If I ever have the power or the means I will get you your freedom and every other fur in the worlds." Leo said returning to look out the windshield. "By the way my name is Leo" he said. Disgruntled

Taken by surprise I felt bad that I exploded on him and felt oddly confused by him. Was he a good guy or a bad guy? But as I relaxed I responded. "I am Clare grey stone"

I heard a soft knock on the door snapping me out of my trance, "Clare are you ready some of the guest are already here" Leo said calmly.

"Yes I'll be out in a moment" I said getting up and looking in the mirror making sure I shook all the wrinkles out of my dress. Then I head out "Hello little fox. You are looking lovely, I'm sure are guest will be delighted to see you" Leo said smiling.

Running his hand through his long blonde hair to his unshaved chin taking the time admired me. "Thank you, Leo. May I ask why you gave me such a nice dress to wear" I question blushing "Clare how many times do I tell you that nothing is too much for you and we do have some important people who want to meet you" Leo said smiling.

As I followed Leo down the hallway. I asked him what he meant by me meeting a special guest. At this Leo pulled me into his room. "Sara do you remember the first day we met and the promise I made you" he ask looking into my eyes with a serious look.

"What...t I'm confused." I said looking down unsure of myself. Leo put his hand under neath my muzzle and pushed my head up till are eyes met again. "Do you remember Sara?" he ask softly.

"Yes you promised me some day you would find a way for a free world if you could. So I and every one of us fur could live equally." I answered raising my hands to his.

"I'm glad you remember. I found the people that all i can say for now" he said in a whisper and kissed me on the nose has he let his hand fall into mine.

Then he kissed me taking me by surprise as a warm feeling in my chest and face spread. "I'm glad I have you" Leo said. I'm sure Leo would saw me blushing. "Thanks" I say.

I couldn't possibly think of what Leo meant by that. I had hundreds of question racing through my head and not a answer to one of them.

"By the way Sara you look absolutely lovely in that dress tonight. Please join me in the office around 11:00 p.m. tonight after every one has left. That If you wouldn't mind hunny" he said as he walked out of the room.

"Yes Leo I will do that" I say back confused. Quickly walking out of his room I went to the bath room. Sitting down on the toilet I couldn't help but think of all that transpired. First the people that Leo was talking about what did he mean by freedom. Then the kiss and the complement that made me feel so odd. I'm not sure of what i feel about this.

As I got up off the toilet I looked in the mirror to regain myself. Some of my hair was sticking up so I wet my hand in the sink and pushed my hair down. I then started to calm down and decide that it was probably best for me to go downstairs now.

As I open the door I ran into a fairly large man. "Oh I'm very sorry sir is there anything I can help you with" I ask? In a booming voice the man answered back with desperation "Why young lady it not your fault. I was just into too much of a hurry. But if you like to help me where is the bathroom in this god forsaken mansion"

"Oh the bathroom is right here sir. I'm sorry for the confusion the house or other workers have caused you." I said in my most cheerful voice trying to forget what just happen between me and Leo.

"Oh thank the gods of high heaven and you to young lady. I will love to make lively conversation to you after I use your facilities." the giant man said with a sound if relief as he rushed into the bathroom closing the door behind him.

Standing in the hallway a lone now trying to not wondering what that was about. I figured the old guy just had to much to drink. I quickly started walking down the hallway to the stairs being carefully why I walk down them so not to trip.

As I reached the bottom of the stairs I saw dozen of people entering the room in lovely elegant dress and designer suit's. Which many that gave me the oddness stare and I couldn't figure out why till I looked down at my own arm decorated with golden flowers twirling down my arm like a vine colliding together near the top creating a white rose blooming. Of course that's why they are not use to us being dressed so nice I thought to myself walking through the door behind the stairs to the main kitchen.

"Clare there you are" Sara yelled. "Where have you been no never mind that. Please get these drinks out to the guest." She said as she shoved 3 wine bottles in my arms.

"Clare calm down why are you in such a hurry" I ask setting the bottles down and looking at the young wolf all cover in baking powder and dough.

Ignoring me as she ran around the kitchen from the island counter back to the stove and then to the fridge preparing pastry food. Making a mess of all the icing, syrup, and filling cream. "Clare what's the matter?" I ask softly why I walked over and helped her fill the treats.

"It's nothing I'm just stress" Clare said more focus on the desserts.

" hunny just try to calm down a little if you talk to guest like that you might get more than a ear full" I said concerned to her.

"Well you please get those drinks out to the guest now please." Clare asks?

"Sure thing I will get right to it hun and don't work yourself to death back here" I said to her as I cleaned my hands off and grab the wine bottles.

Heading back out to the party the giant cheery man I met at the bathroom was standing right in front of me with the biggest smile on his face "Well if it not the pretty girl I bumped into near the bathroom. Would you like to share a drink with me" He asked sticking is hand out. Confused by this I handed him one of the wine bottles.

"Why hunny I wanted to shake your hand but I guess this is has well as a hand shake" The fat man said with a laugh.

Chapter 4: A bright smile and a broken hand

"I'm sorry sir I'm not allowed to drink." I say looking up at him.

"Oh come on share a drink with old Heartnet. It would do me joy to have a good conversation." He said taking the wine bottles out of my hands. "Come please and sit with me. My name is Jim Heartnet fell free to call me whatever you like though."

"Bu...t but" before I could finish Jim shushed me.

"If you will not do it for yourself do it for me?" He chuckled as he sat down and set the wine bottles on the table next to him. "Sit please." He asks smiling at me.

As I sat down he pop open one of the wine bottle while studying it he said "It a good year 2115 with about 20 years of age. I wish I could say the same for myself" he said. Both of us started to laugh. Then he poured two glass of the white wine. "Here take one" he said bending forward and handing one over to me.

"But I never had wine before and I'm not allowed to drink" I say taking it.

"Well then it will be your first and if I remember Leo has let his furs drink in the past." He said raising a eye brow at me. Making his green eyes shower over his dark brown mustache. "So a toast to your first drink." He laughs raising his glass over next to me.

"To a toast then" I said raising my glass to his.

"To your first drink" Jim said drinking his whole glass in one gulp throwing his head and hair back which bounced off the chair which did not seem to faze him other than throwing his long hair every were. Pulling my glass to my lap I look into the glass of white liquid that smelled of bitter flowers. "To me" I whisper as I brought the glass up to my muzzle. I decided to drink it as fast as I could. Pouring it inside my mouth the bitterness surprise me and made me cringe. But I was able to swallow the mouthful and the rest of it in one go.

As I pulled the glass down I let my face relax and unwring a little. "Astounding amazing you were able to down your whole drink and not puke, spit it out, or spill it. We got a natural here" he said in a seriously tone that turned into a laugh.

"That was bad really bad. By the way I'm Clare" I say starting to laugh.

"Oh it will grow on you Clare it a pleasure to meet you" Jim said with a smile. "Now I can trust you." He said lying back in his chair.

"What do you mean" I ask curiously.

"Well after serving several years in the military I learn to never trust a man who never had drank." As he finishes his sentence a drunken man came stumbling up to us.

"Hey you dog move I need to sit down for a minute." The drunk man said.

"Yes sir right away" I said braking away from Jim and mine conversation.

"No Clare don't get up let this drunk find his own spot." Jim said eyeing him. I dint know whether to move or not as I sat there froze between the two.

"What the fuck move it bitch" the drunk yelled. Jim getting up "listen you drunk go find you own spot" Jim said loudly.

"Hey you get the fuck out of this fat man. I will teach this bitch her place. "The drunk said raising his fist to punch me.

As soon as the drunk took a step forward to hit me Jim stepped in grabbing his hand bending it back then tripping him by putting his leg behind his and pushing. "Oh fuuu....ck. owe my fucking hand. You broke my fucking hand you fur lover." The drunk said laying on the ground cradling his hand as a crowd of guest began to form." Clare" Sara yelled ushering me to follow her from the kitchen door as I turn to get out of the way of every one. I heard a loud sharp crack and a bloody yell came from the drunken man. As the party members began to scream I got lost in the crowd. "Watch you think of this fur lover now you bloody weasel" I heard Jim yell

As I found my way through to a brake in the crowed I made my way to the kitchen Sara came up to me and closed the door. Then she insisted on looking all over me for a injury I told her she could. "Are you ok Clare are you hurt" she ask softly realizing that I wasn't feeling good. "Ya I'm fine I think" I whisper to myself. Lost in thought did he a human actually try to protect me?

Chapter 2: A room of silence

"Clare its fine it's over. Please come out of the pantry" Sara yelled at me.

"I'll be out in a minute I'm sorry. I'm. I'm just trying to clear my head." I said wiping the tears from my eyes. "How can I be so weak" I whisper to myself.

I don't know why I'm crying. I don't know what I'm thinking. I don't know why I care so much about what happens to him should I. After hearing those screams as the fight ended and the police rushing in. I just couldn't. I just dint want to think about Jim or that drunk.

"Clare are you fine" Leo ask through the door. What I think to myself as i quickly wipe my nose why is he here. "I'm coming in if you don't mind". He said calmly sliding the key into the door. NO I scream in my head the last person I want to see me like this Is Leo. I quickly got up and just stood there froze.

As the door open Leo quickly walked in closing the door behind him. "Clare hunny are you all right" he asked walking up to me.

"Yes I was just a little bit shaken back there I'm fine really." I say looking up at him with a false smile. "Clare don't lie to me I can see the pain in your face" Leo Sais giving me a worried look. Then walks up to me and takes my hand.

"Don't worry about Jim. He's a good man and is known for getting himself out of this kind of mess." Leo said smiling at me.

"But he.. He killed that man didn't he" I say hugging Leo tight. Leo started to laugh a little.

"No no not at all Clare he just broke his leg and from my understanding of what the police officer said. Is he was protecting you from the man." Leo says softly scratches my back.

"Yes he did. I don't understand why though?" I ask Leo.

"Jim is a man that doesn't base a person on what they look like or there class in the social pyramid. He bases all of his option on the person personality. That why Jim is one of my closes friends. "Laughing a little I say "It kind of reminds me of you.

As I pulled out of Leo embrace I look up at Leo with a real smile this time. "Clare if I said it once would say it again you are the best girl in the world" He said looking into my eyes. Before I knew it I was on my toes kissing Leo and a second later he was kissing me. As if the world for one minute did not matter but only us. Two people lost in the fabric that held it all together. The two flames that would one day grow and burn the old to ashes.

"Leo I love you" I whisper.

"I love you to Clare" Leo said holding me

Then from the hall I heard knocking coming from the pantry door. "Leo all of your guest have left other than the ones in your office. They request that you hurry for many of them would like to go as soon as possible" Sara said opening the door a little.

"I'll be out in just a minute" Leo said turning that way.

"Clare I understand if you do not want to come with me. But I really hope you will." Leo said turning is head at me staring me in the eyes. Looking down I thought about it for a minute "Yes I want to help in any way I can" I say looking up at him with a big smile.

Chapter 3: A nervous smile

** ** I followed behind Leo through the quiet hallways to his office. Looking around noticing that everything was neat and organized as if a party never took place. Stopping at the door Leo turned to me His blonde hair flowing back and forth like a stream. "Clare hunny now I know this might be hard for you. But I want you to know the truth. I love you and I never want you to get hurt. But I see a war coming and the slaves need someone to look up to. Clare we need a symbol we need a rose. A beautiful and strong rose. One that can be strong for others when they cannot. I don't want to burden you Clare but I want you to be that rose. " He said as his blue eyes felt like they were starring right through me to my soul.

Looking down at my feet I didn't know what to say. "Leo" I say tearing up. "I promise. I promise till the day I die. I will try, I will stand strong for you. I will stand strong for me. I will stand for all that look up to me. I will be your rose my love." I say hugging him tightly.

"Are we ready to start" A man said opening the door from behind Leo.

"Joffrey give the two a moment" A women voice rang from farther away

Breaking are hug Leo look down at me "It time, Time to meet the people that will bring are dreams to reality my little rose." He said taking my hand into his and walking me through the door into the brightly lit office. Leading me to a seat at the huge table where maybe 20 or more people sat. He pulled a seat out for me right next to the head of the table. Where he went to sit.

"Thank you Evelin, Robert, Jeffery, Percy, and everyone else how is here, for the matter at hand. The fight which we all are part of the fight for freedom" Leo said loudly across the table. As every look up to listen.

As I look around me some smiled at me others just stared. I started to feel nervous as it seemed most everyone eyes were on me. I turned me head to Leo as he continued to talk again.

"As I hope we all are on the same page. We are here to discuss the best way of handling this. We all know we have close to the majority of the country support but those in power denies us any hope for a truly free nation. Now I would like to hear your opinions and actions on the matter." Leo said loudly so everyone could hear.

A women with red fiery long hair stood up in the back of the room and said "As all the good people here and I believe we should go the most peaceful way. We should fun protest on all major factories. Cut off supply lines of slave goods and protect slaves in any manner possible." She then took her seat. Looking around the table many people where shaking their heads in agreement to her ideals.

"Evelin I love your ideal's but what will the government do to those they cutting off supply's and slaves have one hand in all the goods that are made today. So if everyone who believed in are cause stop buying the products. Are economic system would crash. "Hun you worry way too much. Go home and get some rest." Leo said to her

"Fine Leo goodnight." Raven said skulking out of the room

As she was walking by I notice her clothing instead of being in a dree like all the others girls here she wore jeans that stuck to her skin and a long sleeve black shirt with the triangle tip sleeves. While her cloths were not elegant they were still beautiful clothing.

"So Clare I believed you enjoyed your self especially there towards the end" Leo said right next to me making me jump a little bit.

"Yes no I mean well. It was interesting." I said not sure how to answer the question

"I think it time for some sleep Clare" Leo said braking the hug and standing up. "Good night my little rose."

Sitting there I don't know why but I felt frozen as if time stop as I looked around I notices the fire place ate the end of the room was dying out. So I got up and grab some fire wood that lied beside Leo desk and threw it on the fire. Taking a seat beside the fire I sit and think. I think of the possibility of freedom. I think of the war for it. I think of the poor people that will lose their life's fighting for it. "Why oh why does change require war. Why can't we all just live equally from the bagging? Chapter 4: A slow day

"Clare are you all right" I hear somebody shout. Waking up tiredly with a sharp pain in my neck. As my eyes adjust to the light I can see Sara.

"Why are you in my room Sara?" I ask tiredly sitting up.

"Clare hunny you're in Leos office" Clare said tilting her head at me.

Standing up quickly I realize I was still in the office. "Oh I was so tired last night I didn't even realize I had fallen asleep here.

"Oh Clare hunny you have black ash all over the side of your dress. You need be more care full. You're lucky your tail dint catch on fire being that close to the fire place." Clare said walking over to me.

Looking down at the side of my dress I sighed "That isn't any good. Thanks for waking me Clare. I hope Leo doesn't get mad. Is there any way to wash this Clare?

"I'm sure there are ways to clean the stains out of this. You should go get a shower throw your dress down the chute and I will see what I can do." Sara said smiling at me.

"Thanks hun" I say hugging her

"I expect you to tell me what went on in here last night later today." Sara said with a laugh

As I left the room I begin to wonder why Clare was in here this morning. Probably getting some documents for Leo. As I walk through the kitchen I look at the clock and is said 12:23. Gosh that the longest I slept in a long time. I half to hurry and shower before I get doing to my chores I think rushing out of the kitchen to upstairs.

Going through the door into my room I started going through my drawers looking for something decent. Dragging out a pair of pink panties and bra I throw them on the bed. Then I grabbed me a red V-neck t-shirt and pair of red knee length shorts. Picking up my under garments I quickly make my way to the shower.

Walking through the bathroom door I quickly peeled my dress down my shoulders to my waist then off. I quickly shoved it down the Shute with last night undergarments to.

Hoping in the shower and turning it on. I wonder what my chores for today well be hopefully nothing to back braking. "God I'm begging to get spoiled when I consider a little physical work back braking" I say with a laugh. I wonder if Leo awake yet I'm sure he would have called for me by now. I think to my self

As I turned the water off I started to masseuse the shampoo through my fur and before long I was nothing but a big ball of shampoo soap bubbling up everywhere. I laugh at the thought of what I must have looked like. Turning the shower back on getting rid of all the soap bubbles.

"I can't believe I fell asleep on the fire place last night" I say to myself giggling at the thought of my self-laying there in front of the fire. God why am I being so self-center right now I think to myself as I rub conditioner all over my body.

As I rinse all the conditioner out of my fur I step out of the shower. Grabbed a shower out of the cabinet and rubbed it through my fur drying it and fluffing it all up. As I go to the mirror I grabbed a brush and flatten my damp fur down being careful to brush all the fur on my tail flat. After which I went to put my panties on then my shorts making sure to pull my tail through which I had to re brush cause it fluff my fur all up again. "This is so annoying" I say to my self-aggregated. After which I put my bra on strapping it up and pushing my boobs into a comfortable position. Then I pulled my shirt over my head.

God I fell so much better I think smiling at myself in the mirror. Walking out the door I headed down to the kitchen to where Clare usually is to ask her what I should do around the house. As I enter the kitchen there she was cooking what smelled like beef stew.

"Felling any better after you shower Clary" She said taking notice of me.

"Much I say with a smile back to her." I say with a smile

"That's good but if you sleep in any more I'm going to tear you a new one. You can't be sleeping your house duties off and you know that." She said laughing.

"Oh I promise not to be bad like that anymore" I say with a giggle back. "So all scary Sara what are my chores?" I ask laughing.

"Oh nothing much today. You got lucky the only thing really needing done is dusting in the main room." She said adding verge's to her soup.

"All right the soup is smelling good" I say walking out of the room

"Thanks!" Sara yelled from the other side of the door

I then walked to the utility door pulling out the spray bottle of dust cleaner and the rag and then got to work in the main room. Gosh there so much glass where I think as I enter the room. Looking around about all the tables where field with glass figures some of famous people others of animals and some glass roses. For those seem to be Leo's favorite flower.

As I start dusting I think of the discussion last night. What everyone was talking about. Then I couldn't help but wonder what being free achy would fell like. As I dusted table after table I drifted deeper and deeper into thought. Wondering what walking through a mall would be like. Going out to a bar and playing poker like Leo did. Going to big cities that are a bright with lights and advertisement signs. What driving a car really feels like? As I drop one of the glass animals I snap out of my thought's as I saw the glass wolf right before it shatter on the ground.

"Damn" I whisper to myself. I hope Leo won't get upset. I think as I lower myself to see how bad it was. For as I look closer there was no saving it. It was complete destroyed and unrecognizable.

I sigh as I get up to go get a broom. "Clare what was that" A small girl voice ask from the door way.

"Oh it nothing Lucy I just dropped a piece of glass" I say smiling at the little wolf girl in the door way. As she look up her pretty green eyes caught the light.

"Well your looking pretty today is that a new outfit you're wearing" I say noticing what she was wearing. A bright Blue long sleeve shirt with a knee length skirt.

"Yes thanks for noticing it Leo got it for me!" She said with a big smile.

"You're so adorable hunny run off now because I got a little mess to clean up." I say smiling at her.

"Oh ok see you later foxy" She said with a giggle and ran off.

I love that little girl she can always make me smile. I think as I head to get the broom.

Coming back to the main room I quickly sweep all the glass up making sure to throw them away.

Later that day after I got done dusting everything I went into the living room designed for us furs. It was set up like the main room just smaller and had surveillance cameras in it. As I walked in I noticed Sara siting down watching TV.

"A little birdy told me broke something." Sara said noticing me

"Ya whatever" I say sitting next to her.

"God you love that man" Sara said with a laugh

"Well why wouldn't she" Leo said walking into the room.

"Oh yes we were just relaxing." Sara said

"Of course Leo" I say getting up and walking over to him.

Chapter 5: The false world

"See these device sends information to and from the brain by connecting to your nerves right below the back of your neck through a little needle which will slowly insert itself till it finds the nerve." Leo explained as he put the head set on me.

"Don't worry about that Clare. These headsets have a failsafe as soon as it notice any mass movement of your actual body the needle will eject into the skin. Why sounding bad it's actually is for the better for it prevent tears in the nerve and permeant damage" Leo said calmly.

"I'll just take your word on this one" I say trying to keep from freaking out.

"Ok Clare I am turning it on keep your neck as straight as possible. I will see you inside the program we are both being inserted into the same program." Leo said clicking a button.

As it started up I could hear a vibrating fan like sound Start then I felt a prick in the back of my neck causing me to let out a small yelp.

"Oh I'm sorry Clare did I scare you a little" Leo said with a laugh sticking a white glove hand out to me.

Taking his hand he pulled me up. "We half to find the factory before the solder find us" Leo said starting to walk towards the mountain's.

"What are you talking about" I asked lost following him

"Oh well see I set this program up to teach you and me both how to defend a location that enemy soldiers are trying to take and or destroyed. I will also teach you how to clean and to shoot rifles in this program. But Clare remember every time you or I die the whole program will end." Leo said walking in the same direction.

"How do you know where we are going?" I ask jogging up to him. With my tail constantly waging trying to keep body heat.

"Well I set the program to early morning. So where the sun rises is east and it sets in the west and lucky for use the facility is due 2 miles east." Leo explain pointing at the sun in front of us. "If we had a watch I could show you how to find north and south. But we do not" He said as we came to a small sloop.

"Be careful not to fall." Leo said leaning forward as he walked up it.

"I won't I said" rubbing my ears with my gloves to try and warm them.

As Leo got to the top he look back at me and laughed. "For a creature with fur you sure look cold." He said with a laugh.

"Oh shut up" I say as I pick up a ball of white powder and throwing it at him. Hitting him right in the face.

Him bending over with his glove on his face "gosh that is cold. I haven't been hit with a snow ball in forever."

"Oh I'm sorry I dint mean to hit you in the face with it" I say rushing up the slope to him. As I got up beside him I bent over next to him "Are you ok Leo" I ask putting my arm around him.

"I'm ok but you will not be" He said laughing quickly getting up and shoving snow in my face.

"Wha...t" I say as my face got wet and super cold. "Ouch that hurt my nose" I say shoving the snow off my face. My nose still stinging.

"I'm sorry hunny but that pay back" he said with a laugh

"I'm going to get you" I growl

Then out of nowhere I heard a loud bang and I saw bright red specks fly through the air. As if everything slowed down Leo fell into the snow his pants leg stained in blood.

"Fuck!" Leo screamed holding his lower leg

As I drop to my knees I looked in Leo face as if I went death I couldn't hear the words coming out of his mouth. Then he handed me a Pistol and pushed me back.

As I snapped out of my fear I quickly got up I looked and saw a man not too far away laying in the snow. Before I knew what I was doing I was running towards him. His Rifle pointed right at me. Jumping quickly to the right before he pulled the trigger. I was stunned after felling the wind from the bullet passing by me. I quickly regain myself. The fright only increasing my rage I sprinted faster and before he or I knew it I was right on top of him. Pointing my gun in his face. I pulled the trigger without a second thought.

His blood and bone flew apart all over in the snow with chunks of gray falling out of his head. Looking down I got so sick I felt like I was going to puke I gadded and gadded but nothing came out except for my spit.

What had I done what did I do I think to myself tears streaming through my eyes. Then I remembered Leo back in the snow. As I ran back I could hear and see him grunting to sit up.

"Leo your all right you're alive" I say collapsing on my knees next to crying and him hugging.

"God that hurt's. Clare I'm fine it just a simulation." Leo says trying to calm me down

"But it feels so real and I... I killed him Leo I shot him and killed him." I say shoving my head into his shoulder.

"Clare he was going to kill you. If you hadn't shot him I and you would have been dead. Now it mandatory that we hurry to the factory. As fast as we can. You think that you can support my left side hunny" Leo asked as I started to calm down

Wiping my nose and eyes getting the tears and snot out of my face "Ya I think I can" I whisper.

Getting up I grab Leo left side. "Ok on three lift you got it" Leo asks.

"Ya I got it" I say

"All right 1. 2. 3..." Leo Sais as I pull his left shoulder up then his arm over my shoulder.

"God damn that hurts" He says his face cringing.

"I thought you said none of this was real." I ask sniffing.

"None of it is real. It just the simulation." Leo said

"It's too real" I mumble to myself. As Leo weight push's down on me.

"Don't worry were almost there you see." He said pointing in the distance to a black and gray building.

The rest of the way was slow. But there weren't any solders firing at us as we. Approach the building. Several men came rushing out from around the gate.

"How are you and why are you here!" A man in a green Thick coat yelled walking by the solders.

"I am Leo, Levant of are reconnaissance unit. Code word Alpha 2374" Leo said

"What the report on enemy movement." The general asked Leo.

"Half a mile maybe closer." Leo replied

"Damn get to the medic so he can patch up your leg and how is this girl that is following you." The man asked Leo.

"That is Clare stonewall Rifle woman of unit 542. She the only one left the rest of her squad was wiped out." He said. Confused by this I looked him.

"Is this true miss" The grayed hair man said eyeing me

Leo nodded at me then as I looked back under the pressure of his gave I managed to speak and say "Yes they were all killed" After which'd I hanged my head low.

"Well I'm sorry to hear that my name is General Jack Longstrife. Joe albert get Leo to the medical wing. You girl follow me." General Longstrife said looking at his men then me.

The men quickly came and relieved me of Leo as I was about to follow them Leo told me "Clare follow the general. I will be fine" At that I nodded my head to him then quickly walked up to the general how turned around and had me follow him through the door.

"So you're a rifle man right do you prefer standard or plasma" Longstrife asked me

"General I don't know the difference between the two" I say to the general

Some complain they aren't as accurate but you got close to 50 shot's per canister and less of a recoil with a faster shoot time than most rifle. Plus you don't half to load each round into the chamber. But I warn you keep the Reload canister clean or you well be dealing with a small frag grenade." The general said grabbing a riffle and handing it to me with a laugh he stopped as soon as gunfire erupted from outside.

Quickly the general grab a assault rifle off the shelf "Move move move we half to protect this factory we need this ammunition for the war. All rifle men and women on the roof now." He said.

In the excitement a women walked to me "You have a rifle get up on the roof!" She yelled.

"I don't know how to get up there" I say my ears against my head as she got into my face.

"God are you a recruit follow me." She said grabbing a plasma rifle off the shelf. I followed behind her as she rushed through a couple rooms filled with boxes and boxes stacked to the roof. Then up a metal stair case to the roof.

She quickly laid down by the roof on the gate end side. I just stood there staring at all the people down below blood and guns laying everywhere. I was frozen in fear then someone was up in my face yelling at me to get down. Then I was falling and I snap out of it.

As I hit the ground "fuck" I yelled closing my eyes as I open them the girl from before was staring at me.

"Damn it girl were trying to get killed this is not a time to freeze up grab that rifle put it up against your shoulder find a target and shoot!" She yelled

"I'm sorry" I say grabbing my rifle lying beside me and doing as she told me putting up against my shoulder.

"Don't be sorry shoot and shoot the ones with the black hoods on" She yelled

As I look down my scope I saw one the black showing through the white hood of their jacket. As the black point found his body I tried to pull the trigger but it dint fire. "It won't fire I yelled

"Turn your safety off it right next to the trigger" The women yelled firing and killing one of the men quickly return fire came from below. As I looked I found the safety switch and flipped it off. I then looked through my scope again and fond the man as I pulled the trigger I got the same sick felling again. Watching through the scope I saw a ball of red light go through the man chest and caching his jacket fire as blood blue out the back of him the man fell forward on fire.

"Good shot recruit" The girl next to me said.

You see that truck driving over the hill up here that truck is caring a bomb. You got one maybe two shots to shoot the engine or the gas tank of that thing you got me. I'll keep the return fire off of you" The women said.

"Ok" I say looking down my rifle at my moving target this time my scope moving everywhere as my heart rate sped up. I aimed for the hood but my first shot miss it hit the passenger in the front seat.

"Don't worry about that you still got one more shot. Calm down and take your time" The women said.

As I looked through the scope again this time I aimed lower and more to the left of the hood figuring the movement of the target is fater than my bullet. As I squeeze the trigger it was like watching the bullet leave the barrel and following it all the way to the hood of the truck as it hit the engine. The whole front of the truck blow up due to the massive amount of heat. Which'd cause the bomb to go off killing most of the surrounding troops. The only thing I could see out of my scope was red fire and ash on the melting snow.

"I got I shout with" excitement

"Yes you did" the girl beside me yell. As I looked over at her she smiled at me with her blonde hair a mess but her brilliant brown eyes were filled with joy. "I think we will hold out for another day" She said looking back through her scope.

I then went to look back through my mine. But as soon as I put my face up to the scope. I felt the wind of a bullet over my head. I felt something thick and wet on my head. Then the pain came.

"owe" I scream as my hand trigger hand find's its way to my head as I touch my hair a jolt of pain shots through me as my other hand crunches up in the pain. "You fucking basters I'm going to kill even if it means I die" I yell getting up and grabbing my pistol from my sides. Not even thinking I jump down into a bush below the ledge.

"Are you a fucking idiot" I hear the girl from before as I fall.

Quickly regain myself I saw we were barely holding the lines from outside. We are being overwhelmed with enemy solder's. I think looking at my small pistol which looked useless at this time putting it back in it holster. I quickly looking around I see a rifle in the grip of a dead solder in front of me. Taking the oversized coat off I jump for the gun. Prying it out of the hand of the dead man. As I looked up I saw Leo crouched behind one of the make shift barricades.

Quickly running over there I slide in right beside him. "Leo your all right how's your leg I say" hugging.

He jumped and looked at me like a mad before relaxing "Clare you scared the shit out of me."

"How's your leg" I ask again looking down noticing he was wearing another pair of pants with no sign of blood.

"It fine the doc fixed it right up before all the shit came down." He said looking over at my face. "Holy sh... Clare you ear there a giant gash and it bleeding" Leo said stunned

"Its fine I promise in fact I want some revenge" I say getting angry again. "Leo cover me don't let them kill me" I say with a smirk.

"Wait what" He started to say but I was already up. Jumping over the barricade making sure the safety was off I rush the incoming solders by running diagonally through the middle of the standoff around enemy lines making sure to make every bullet count as I took steady aim on my targets and I squeeze the trigger. 3 or more bullets erupted from the chamber and the recoil I wasn't expecting it was so hard it knocked me down into the snow the man I was aiming at fell down into the snow as well but he stopped moving after a second. "Damn" I whisper to myself as several of the solders turned towards me but like that the two solders that took notice of me where both shot down. As I looked over it was Leo how shoot them.

"Thanks" I say not even thinking he could hear me. As I get up to run by the guy I just shoot I notice something catch the sun. I looked around to make sure nobody was trailing me. I quickly leaned down to see what it was. Grenades I thought remembering a movie I saw a long time ago where a man use one to blow up a gas station. I quickly grabbed them and ran all the way around the rest of the enemy. Ducking behind a piece of metal that was blown off the truck by the explosion. I quickly looked over and saw maybe 20 or more enemy soldiers laying in the snow all around. Some dead some not.

Starting to freak out I dint know what to do. I'm one person I don't have a chance. I'm behind enemy lines and by myself. "Come on Clare don't freak out think think." I whisper to myself.

Wait I got it. I can through grenades over the whole area that might be anoff to scare them to stand up and move back where I can then stand and shoot them from in the front. While are guys at the gate can Shoot them in the back.

As I counted my grenades I had three. Studying it I push down the clip them pulled out the pen. Quickly realizing I active it I logged it in the air over head. Soon after hearing it explode and hearing the screams of those that got hit by its shrapnel. I looked up and got an ideal of where it hit. I then Pulled the other 3 one at a time and throwing them and like I thought I started to hear them running through the snow this way. I quickly got up on my knee with gun in hand and aimed. Shot by shot by shot I saw the men fall to the ground dead as a rock. Like a drumming being pounded I kept shooting till the gun did not shoot any more. Dropping the gun I felt so sick looking at all the dead body's before me. It seems there all dead I think to myself.

After all the excitement I just realize how could I was. Getting up I hanged my head against my neck and crossed my arms heading back to the factory's. As I got near the gate the general and Leo booth stood there holding there rifle at hip. "That took some gut's girl. God you took out half of them by yourself I ought to give you a medal" the general said.

"Thanks but I would appreciate a coat instead" I said with a half-smile

"Clare hunny are you're all right" Leo said giving me a hug. "You did great out there."

"Just a little cold. Thanks but I only did it with your help. Is the simulation almost over" I ask putting my head under his neck.

"It is over" A voice said has everything around me turned black.

Chapter 6: reality

As I took the head set off. I realize I was drench in sweat and my clothes were sticking to me. As a sudden pain began to spread through my skull "Ouch I say" bring my hands up to my head as it throb in pain. Looking up I saw Leo staring at me.

"The headache hit you to" Leo said looking up with his head set in his lap and his hand on his head. "It's a pain but you will get used to it." He said smiling at me.

"That was too real." I say burying my face in my hands to try to kill out all the light.

"It called virtual reality for a reason. It gather all the information from your brain and from files located on the program itself and transfer the data back in forth from the nerves to the computer." He said looking down at the machine.

"Leo I don't understand what most of this technology or half of the words your saying." I say looking at him.

Looking at me with s frown "No you don't do you." He says seeming to talk to himself. "But there always the possibility of teaching you. For my little rose knowledge is the supreme power of this world." He says with a smirk.

Bring my hands from my face "What time is it I ask" looking at him his blonde hair sticking to his head in sweat. Looking at his watch he looked back up at me.

"Only 4:30 hun" He says looking back up.

"What that's impossible" I say looking at Leo shocked

Leo laughing to himself spoke and said "Clare think of it like this. You were dreaming. Now when you dream your dreams can fell like hours even days. Why because your brain slows down and your sense of space and time slow. There for a 1 in reality can be 3 hours in virtual reality." He said getting up and straitening his sweat soak suit out.

"Why is everything so complicated" I say looking up at him.

"Hunny that's life. Everything is a complicated puzzle of mysteries. I will see you later my rose I must get me some water and get out of this suit." He said walking by and patting my head. Then he headed out the door.

Standing up seemed to make the headache worst causing me to become unbalanced and almost fall. But I was lucky there was a table there to stabilize me from falling down. "God" I say pushing the hair out of my face. "I'm soak in sweat and I can hardly rembered what even happen in the sim." I say to my self-getting really nauseate has more of the memory's came back. It all a blur of blood and snow then I remember the man the man I shot. His head bursting in the snow like a bug being step on. Squirting out blood, skull and brain matter. Not a second later I turn my head and all I had eaten was on the floor with streams of spit drooling from my mouth.

"Shit" I say wiping the puke and spit from my mouth with my arm. Realizing what I did I felt so disgusted and tried to wipe it off with my hand with no prevail.

At the moment I heard the door behind me open. "Oh my god are you all right" A high pitch girls voice ranged out from behind me.

Recognizing the voice I turn around "I'm fine I'm just a little sic..." I say before pukeing more onto the ground.

The girl walking up behind me put her hand on my shoulder "Clare you need to go get cleaned up and lie down. You're sick as a dog and you're sweating dreadfully."

Now I know how it was Turning around I saw the sweet old golden fur wolf Liz With her bright blue eyes that always seemed to match her cloths. "But I need to clean up this mess" I say holding my hand over my mouth to protect her from my breath.

"Hunny I will clean all this up but you need to go lie down." She said looking me in the eye.

Sighing I gave in "Fine thank you Lizz I owe you one." I say walking towards the door stumbling a little.

"I don't owe you anything hunny. We all get sick. I'm sure you would help me if I had gotten sick like you did." She said as I laid against the door frame to listen.

Smiling a little I told her "Thanks"

Walking up the stairs I really didn't fell like taking a shower because I was so tired. But I felt so disgusting. I didn't even bother grabbing cloths. I just went in the bathroom and peeled my pants bra shirt and everything else off as it was soak in sweat. I realize how thirsty I was as soon as I turn on the shower and heard the water pouring out. Not even realizing what I was doing I had my muzzle open and was drinking the cool water that came streaming out till it turned hot and burned my mouth. Cringing I close my muzzle. God that thing really fucked with me.

I grab the bottle shampoo and began lathering it through my fur making sure to really rub it in on my muzzle and arms witch were stained brown in puke. That stew did not taste good coming up I think to myself as I rinse the rest of the shampoo out of my hair. Tiredly I look at the conditioner. I really did not want to take the time to put it on.

A day won't hurt my fur I think to myself. As I turned off the water and step out. Getting in the cabinet I grab a 2 towels. Wrapping one around my waist the other one around my chest. Around my waist. Looking in the mirror my hair was such a mess but I had no want to brush it.

Picking my cloths up off the ground I shove them down the chute. Then I walk out of the shower and walk the rest of the way to my room. Walking through my room door I look at the clock by bed. The glowing blue light reading as 5:23 p.m.

Kind of early to sleep but I'm exhausted I think closing my door. I crawl into my bed and close my eyes. As if as soon as I close them I was a sleep.

"Clare get up" A voice yelled.

"What's going on" I scream as I wake up to the smell of smoke.

Sara standing in the door way ran in "The house is on fire.

But before she got half way through the room the glass shatter and Sara stopped eyes going big as something wet spread from her chest and she feel to the ground the last words I she mumble was "Clare go they want y...." Then she complete collapse.

In terror I quickly crawled out of my bed to Sara "Sara Sare" I yell my eyes tearing up. "You can't die" I say crying.

Then in the hallway more gun shots rang out and then screaming. Realizing there was nothing I could do I crawled to my door looking out into the hall way I could see the fire eating away at the other end of the stair case. Quickly getting up I darted down the hall tripping over myself just as bullets go flying by out of the door to my right. That was Lucy room I thought immediately. Rushing in I saw a man dress in some kind of a black suit with a mask on pointing a gun at Lucy. Who was on the ground crying. Quickly before the man could redirect himself I had him by the throat with one hand and drove him to the ground. Quickly with my free hand I grab the small riffle looking gun shoved in to his skull and pulled the trigger firing off about 5-6 rounds before I let go of the trigger and with each blast gun bonce truing his skull into mush.

Quickly getting up I rushed over to Lucy. "Are you all right hun, Are you" I ask. Looking for any sign of blood.

"It hurts" I heard her whimper through her sobs.

"Where hunny I asked" Desperately looking for where she was hurt

As she moved her hands from her face she put her right hand on her left shoulder. Quickly locking to where she put her hand I saw blood soaking through her shirt. Getting up I look for something to press against it to try and stop the blood. Rushing over to her bed I pick up her sheet and quickly use my teeth to rip a large narrow patch. Running back over to her I say "Hunny I'm going to help please move your hand. I half to rip you shirt so I can wrap a big bandage around it to make it feel better." I tell her trying to keep calm.

She moved her arm and I made quick work of ripping her shirt and wrapping her shoulder. "Ok hunny I'm going to pick you up and were going to get out of her." I say putting my hand under her legs.

"Ok" she sob as she hugged her arms around my shoulders. Quickly lifting her I made my way into the hall the fire was almost to the stares. I half to hurry I think to myself. Quickly making my way to the chairs I can feel the heat behind me licking the back of my neck.

Rushing down the satires I could see the door wide open. "Everything will be all right Lucy we are going to make it." I say rushing down the last step and out the door the cool air refreshing compared to the heat. But my relief didn't last long a noff.

"So your this Clare I been hearing about." A man said standing a few feet in front of me. His long black hair which'd laid just past his chin Shined in the full moon light. His green eyes peered at me with a silent hatred.

"I have been told a lot about you. Of your love for a man of owns you. Of a false hope of freedom he promises you." The man said with a wicked grin.

"You don't know me." I shouted in immediate hatred putting down Lucy I walk forward.

"I be careful if I were you" he said with a laughed. As I heard the sounds of guns being cocked from both sides of me.

"I know more than what you think. After all I am Cain, Cain Rivian that is." He said smileing and looking down.

"I'll give you a choice yours and Lucy freedom or the life of your love Leo" Cain said walking up to her.

"What" I say with overwhelming terror.

"You can run away now with that girl or you can give me her and Leo will not be killed by my men" Cain whisper in my ear. After staring in terror for a minuet it turn to rage and I slam my head into Cain's head then I heard the firing of guns.

Opening my eye's I looked around my clock glowed blue in the darkness 3:58. "It was just a nightmare." I say to myself. "Just a bad dream" I say hugging my pillow as I shake from the fear. After calming down just a bet. I decide to get down out of bed to go and get a drink of water. Realizing I was undress I turn on my light and quickly got dress in pajama pants and through a baggy shirt on. Looking back at my bed I saw the mess of towels that were wrapped around my body. Quickly clearing them off and slating my sheets out. Turning around I walked to my door walking slower and slower as I got closer.

Cracking my door I peak out still in fear of the invisible fire that was there in my dreams. But there was nothing except for cool darkness and small night lights that follow down the hall along the walls. Felling relieved I open the door all the way. Silently I walked through the halls till I came to the stares. Making sure to be careful not to fall I took my steps very slow one by one. As I reach the bottom of the stairs I paw my way by the wall to the door and entered shine a great blast of light out into the hall way blinding me. To bright I think squinting my eyes to see. Walking over to the sink I use the step stool to reach the cabinet to grab a glass. Turing on the cold water I fill my glass and I quickly downed the first glass. Filling it up again I took my time drinking the water down slowly.

Putting the glass down I felt so much better. Thinking about the dream I couldn't help but to laugh at the silliness of it. Tiredly I walk out and went up the stairs down the hall to my room. Walking into my room I turned off my light and got in bed and cuddle into my blankets.

Chapter 7: A fire

Beep beep beep my alarm clock went off till I slammed my hand into it making it turn off, "It's already time to get up" I complain slowly opening my eye's to the sun shining through my window. The light string my eyes.

Sitting up I stretch my arms up in the air and started to yawn. Rubbing my eyes all the memories of last night rushed into my mind. That horrible nightmare from last night that I remember so viably. "Gosh I must have been sick last night" I say laying back and relaxing.

After lying there for 20 or so minuets. Going over and over the dream in my head. I did not know why but I could not let it go. It was stuck there in my head. Trying to distract myself I decided to get dress and down stairs. Getting up I walk over to my dresser a mess from where I went through it last night looking for cloths. Pulling out one of the stupid skirts I wonder why Leo like these thing so much. He always says they make us look more lady like. But In my opion it make us look more like a prostitute.

Throwing it on the ground behind me I pull out one of my few pair of jeans which I so truly loved. Putting it on my bed I then go back to the dresser to pick out a shirt. Looking through them I decided on my white long sleeve V-neck going a draw lower I pull me out a white bra and panties. Quickly taking my pajamas off. I slide my under garments on and adjust them properly. Then I pulled the jeans on which was annoying cause it cause all my fur on my legs to pull up and it takes a good solid hour to get it to lay conformity under them. Pulling my tail through I could see that it needed a good brushing as it looked like a mop.

Next I slid my shirt on over my head pulling the bottom out so it laid right. After which I grabbed the skirt as I headed to the bathroom once in there I shoved the damn thing down the laundry Shute. Grabbing the brush I worked on my tail making sure to work all the annoying knots and tangles out. Next I went to my hair pulling it all out of my shirt. I began to brush it till it was good and fluffed. "There we are" I say admiring myself in the mirror as the stripes under my eyes came together and exploded outward Making my blue eye's shine with my orange fur.

Heading down the stairs I headed towards kitchen to see Sara. "Hey Sara how are you this morning" I ask walking in.

"Fine as always" she said looking up with a smile. Baking powder caking her fur.

"Do you ever sleep?" I ask with a laugh

"Of course I do otherwise my food would taste as bitter" She said back me and her laughing at her joke.

"So what are my chores to day bitter wolf?" I ask cheerfully.

"Well if you must know in about an hour. Leo would like you to meet the Vander's boy at the front gate and show him where to off load the mining equipment." Sara said working vigorously with her mixing bowl.

Looking up at her with a disgusted face "Is it just me or does Leo like putting me near those cave like animals" I say sticking my tongue out.

Sara unable to contain her self-started laughing "Come on be nice to the poor boys" She said wiping a tear from her eye.

"Well if they were nice to me I might." I said taking a seat at the kitchen table. Is there any food left over from yesterday I'm starving." I whine giving Sara a puppy face.

"Oh stop that you're getting as bad as Lucy Clare." She said with a smirk shaking her head

Putting on my best sad puppy voice I said "But I'm so so very hungrys"

"Really all right I give in. there no left overs but there are a couple frozen meat pies in the freezer that you can help yourself to" She said smiling and rolling her eyes.

Getting up I walk up to Sara and give her a big hug from behind "Thank you Thank you Thank you." I say in a high pitch voice. Making Sara laugh a little. Receding from the hug I go to the fridge and open the freezer and pull out a chicken meat pie. Quickly unwrapping it and putting it into the microwave. Till the familiar mmmmmm sound came from the machine.

"Forget about being as bad as Lucy your worst." She said poring the content of the mixing bowl into a pan then into the stove.

"You're just a bitter wolf." I say smiling and returning back to my normal voice.

"Oh yes I'm am as bitter as black coffee. Even though I just gave you one of my pies" She said smirking.

"You're a bitter wolf with a sweet spot for me" I say jokingly as the microwave beeps. Quickly I pull the hot content out and put it on the table as quickly as possible cause it was burring my. "Ouch I say" clenching my fist. Quickly I went to the sink and ran could water over my hand. As I stood there looking at the water I realize I was a tad thirsty so I pored me a glass and went back to my seat.

"You should be care full not to burn you self. Trust me I have had my fair share." Sara said getting in the cabinets looking for more ingredients I assumed.

Stirring up my chicken pie I took a giant fork full and blow on it and then ate it. The thick peppered chicken gravy burned my mouth but it was so good. Quickly after that first bite I had eaten the whole thing glugging my water down with it. Getting up I threw a way the paper pie holder in to the trash by the fridge.

"Well I'm heading out" I yell to Sara.

"All right hun don't get in a fight with the other" She said with a laugh

Walking out the door I couldn't help but to think of Sara. She all ways been the closes thing to a mother to me. She has always been kind ever since the first day I came here about 4 years ago. She taught me what I needed to know and always looked after me. "I can only think of her highly." I say to my self

After about half an hour walk I was at the gate. Not having thought to bring anything to keep time on me. I had no idea how much longer it would be till the man got here. After siting by the gate for several minutes I began to grew drowsy in the warm sun till I eventually nodded off.

ERRRNT ERRRNT the gate buzzard went off causing me to jump. Quickly waking up I unlocked it.

Pushing the button down on the gate door I speak into the speaker "The door is unlocked you may come in."

"All right give me a minuet" A voice said from the other end. After a couple seconds the metal slid opened slowly but once it opened all the way a man in a grey solar power truck pulled up caring several tanks of oxygen and mining tools in the back. Ruling the window down he gave quite a disgusted look. "Are you Clare" He asked with a growl behind his voice.

"Yes I'm here to show you where to set the mining equipment at" I say smiling at him.

"Get in" he said nodding to the other side of the truck. As I walked around I heard him mumble. "Sending damn slave to do your work." Making me quite mad what does it matter to him I think keeping my head down as I opened and got in the truck.

"Where am I heading now" The man said starting to drive.

Being as polite as possible I say "Keep going straight. Then turn onto the bridge till you see the old house. It painted white and has a large red chimney pointing out of the top of it." I say leaning back into the seat.

"MMF don't lay back into my seat I don't want it smelling like dog." He said looking over at me.

Trying to be as nice as possible I sit up "I'm sorry sir.

Turning my head I looked out the window it was a beautiful day especially as we turn on the bridge. Revealing the flower field in full Bloom with the beautiful roses and lily's popping up everywhere.

"Is that it" the growl came again as I looked out the front window. I saw the old white house about half the size as Leo. "Yes it is" I say as the old house brought back memories of what Leo told me that was the old house that his father use to own. I asked him what his father was like and he told me that he does not want to remember what his father was like.

"You mutt tell me where to park." He said barking at me

"There in the garage sir I will get out here and go in and tell the guy's to unload it." I say opening the door as he slowed down. Quickly hoping out I close the door behind me a little harder than I thought. Walking around the truck to the door as he inch closer to the garage.

"If you ever slam my door like that again bitch. I will slam your tail in there" He yelled out his window as I walked in the slave house.

Looking up as I close the door behind me all the slaves looked at me weary. "The new equipment is here and ready to be unloaded" I say looking around.

"Well looky here we have a stray little fox among the wolfs" Tom voice range out from the left of me.

"Tom I don't have time for this. Now will you help unload the equipment or not." Say looking right at him. This time without fear but anger.

"Boys look at this. Miss Rosy here is demanding us to do work for her." Tom said walking right up to me only leafing a foot or more of space between us.

"Leave her alone let just get the stuff done" A golden dog said coming to my defense.

"Why are you so keen on being master little pet Albert" Tom said angrily walking towards him raising a fist to his chest cracking his knuckles.

Looking at the old dog I could tell he was in no shape to fight Tom. "Stop it Tom leave him alone." I yell angrily at him.

"Oh I'm so sorry hunny I forgot all about you I wonder what Leo would say if I put a pretty little scratch on your face" He said turning around.

Clenching my fist I couldn't take it any more even if they were empty threats the past memories came flooding back to me. Rushing forward I saw Leo eyes go wide and he tried to punch me but I saw it before he moved his handed and tackled him to the ground. Pulling myself up I trap his arms under my knees and look deep into his scared little eyes in anger. Several of the slaves around me standing up looking at me unsure of what to do.

"You smart ass little fuck. You think you can treat me like shit! I'm not saying I'm as good as you. But I'm definitely not as bad as you" I yell putting my face into his.

Then like a blur I hear a hissing sound then loud bang as I fell the heat of fire lick my side knocking me over. As I opened my eyes I see the old golden dog above me but I couldn't hear the words coming out of his mouth only the screaming and clambering of people trying to get out of the room.

Siting up he offer me a hand but I wave him away turning around he ran out the front door. Looking around wearily I saw golden flame climb the wood as it turned black and cracked. Getting up on my feet I look down and see Tom laying there a sleep almost. His chest rising and receding as he laid there with his eye's closed. Using all my strength I get down on my knees scoop my hand behind his neck and under his legs and lifted him up.

Then I headed towards the door and outside I went. Getting a couple feet away from the house I set him down in the grass. Then a panic in me kick in me the driver he still in there. Quickly running to the garage I saw that there was no way of getting in there. Thinking of what to do. I started to run back into the entrance rushing in I saw the door that went into the garage trying to open it it was jammed. So I step back and rammed it with my shoulder it quickly fell in releasing a giant wave of fire out as I fell with the door that by a miracle did not burn me.

As I got up I saw the man he was burned badly on his whole left side but he was still breathing. Almost all of his black hair and cloths burned off I run over to him. "Are you ok can you walk?" I ask. Not getting a response back I try to lift him but he was too heavy. Looking around I dint see anything else I could do except drag him. So I drag him up and over the door frame. Through the litter slave room and out the front door all the way to tom till I let him go.

Not even realizing my pants were on fire till I started to fell a tingle of warmth. Quickly I striped off my pants killing the fire. Sitting down I fell light headed and decide to take nap.

"Clare are you all right" Leo said laying over me.

"Of course" I say sitting up hearing loud painful sirens.

"Oh god when I heard of an explosion in the slave house I feared the worst." He said hugging me.

Instantly I remember starting to shake and freak out. "What happened?" I ask as he recede from his hug.

"From what I was told there was a gas leak and the Vander boy Lit a cigarette. Sparking an explosion. Somehow amazing he survived and an even more incredibly story I heard was that you dragged him out of the burning building and tom to." He said looking at me questionably.

"I couldn't leave them in there to burn to death... Plus I almost dint even realize there was a fire. Like it was never even real." I say looking down realizing there was a blanket over my waist.

"Sounds like you were in shock. But never the less you saved them. There was only one death in all the panic." Leo said grabbing my leg and smiling at me.

"What" I said shock.

"Yes old Arnold he had a heart attack and was found lying in the flower field by the fire man." He said looking down. "He was a good old person." Leo said looking down.

"He can't be dead I saw him leave. I saw him" I say tearing up thinking of the old dog that tried to ward Tom off of me.

"He is Clare just no easy way to say it." Leo said to me as a man in a giant in a bright yellow suit walked up to us.

"Are you Clare?" The big man asked

Me and leo Look up at the "Yes I am why sir"

"Ander's son would like to speak to you" The man said.

Getting up I tried to keep the blanket around my waist my burnt jeans laying over in the grass. "Don't worry about those jeans Clare I will buy you a new pair" He said with a laugh getting up with me.

I had to walk quickly to keep up to the man as we approached an air medic car. An ambulance like car that could hover above the ground using 5 giant fans replacing where tire would usually go. To push it in the air.

`"He is in the back here." The yellow suited man said

Walking around to the back the big man from the truck was looking up and gave me a painful smile. "There the gir....l that saved my life."

"I don't know how to say this. But I never thought there be a day were a slave would save my life." He said grunting with pain as he lifted his hand and stuck it out to me. Leo put his hand on my shoulder and whisper in my ear "Shake his hand Clare."

Sticking my hand out I shook his good hand. "I'm sorry I don't think I introduced myself I'm Alek Anders. I'm also sorry if I was cruel to you. There was no excuse for the way I treated you. I don't even know why I hated you" He said with a laugh then he started coughing horribly.

"Leo your behind her right" Alec yelled past me.

"Yes I'm right here" He said stepping in front of me.

"I'm dreadfully sorry for the way I treated Clare and the destruction of that old house. I will pay you whatever it cost to replace everything and that amount doubled for your personal use." Alec said laying back on the medic bed.

"No Alek you really don't half to. Accidents happen" Leo said with a smile "Don't argue with a hurt man just take it Leo it will help clear my concisions" he said staring at Leo in a serious manner before breaking out in laughter.

"Ok we half to go" Yelled the paramedics closing the door on the ambulance.

"Ok Clare let head to the house you been through a lot." Leo said putting his arm around me kissing me on the head.

Walking with him towards the house I asked "What happen to Tom"
