Chapter Two- In My Way

Right after lunch, I went upstairs and began packing my things to the college. I still couldn't believe I did it! It's such an amazing feeling to something you put so much effort to finally come true!

But here's where I got stuck. What now?

I have been studying all this time but I didn't really thought about what I will do AFTER I got accepted. Of course, pack my things, but what will I do once I get there? Classes don't start until Monday, so I can't study. Oh well, I will figure it out once I get there.

I get some of the books I didn't finish yet from the shelf and carefully put them in the box that was on my bed. I don't even know if I will have time to read them... I also can't believe I didn't finish some of those, I guess I got so focused on the test that I forgot about everything else... Well, it paid off, so I can't complain.

I open my wardrobe, that is quite empty, and get the few clothes I have and stuff them in the box as well: Some shorts and pants, and of course my beloved geek shirts. I should change my clothes too...

I pick up a jeans and a white shirt and change it quickly.

And then I stare at my desk. My notebook and my drawing tablet laying there. Should I take them? Like I said, I don't know if I will have time to do anything else other than study...

-Are you ready, sweety? - Mom came suddenly to my room

I quickly grabbed my notebook and drawing tablet and carefully put them on the box, closing it

-Yes, mom- I walk to her and hug her

-I'm so proud of you, Lucy- She said with a smile. Even if I couldn't see her face, I could feel she was happy

-Thank you mom- I was happy too, I couldn't deny it

She then breaks the hug

• Let's go then? - Mom asks looking in my eyes

-Yes, let's go- I get the box with both hands and walk downstairs, then I leave the box on the table

-Where are you going, sis? - Mike says with a sad face, that look just breaks me.

-I'm going to study in a new school outside the city, but I'll come back to visit you, ok Miky? -I say with a fake bright smile in my face. I didn't think about this, I'll have to leave my family... It's not for long, but still, being in a strange place with strange people... I will sure miss my family, and I will sure visit them whenever I can!

-Ok! Be the best of the bests, sis! I know you can do it! - He sayed cheerfully

-I sure will, Miky! - This time I smile truly

I hear a honk from outside. It's dad with the car.

-I got to go, bye mom, bye Miky- I say as I pet my little brother, him smiling big

-Bye big sis- Miky replied a little sad, but keeping that smile in his face

-Goodbye Lucy- Mom said hugging me briefly- Don't let any boys get in the way of your studies, ok? - She laughed

-Of course not- I giggled

I take the box to the trunk of the car, close the box with tape and leave it there in the corner of the trunk.

-I'm proud of you, Lucy- Dad puts his hand on my shoulder and stares at me, and I could feel the pride in his eyes

-T-thank you, dad- I never thought he would say that. I mean, my dad isn't that strict, he's more the kind of relaxed type, but still, I never thought he would say that.

-We should get going, come on- Dad said getting in the car and inserting the keys

-Okay- I sat in the passenger's seat and watched my neighbor's house, putting in the seat belt

Dad started up the car, and began driving with his characteristic careful in the streets. I didn't know the way to Lionheart, so I just appreciated the view while I was in my way.

My city was rather forested compared to the cities next door; it has a big park in the middle, The Plazastreet Park, and also a big preserved forest full of wild Pokémon. Every corner of a street there's a little garden full of flowers and trees, just like every garden in every house. I have to say, it's a pretty city.

The Lionheart College is just outside Scarlet City, my city, so I could still visit this beautiful place, and of course, my family. We soon arrived at the enormous college's entrance gate.

I got my box off the car's trunk and then I get myself staring at the lion emblem carved in the gate, complemented by stone brick walls, protecting the college.

-Here, I'll give you 500P per month to help you with college and food. Your mother told me not to do so, but I'll anyway- He winked at me and handed over all that P. - But don't you think you shouldn't get a job just because of that!-

-Of course not! I was planning to get a job anyway- I said. 500P will cover pretty much food and laundry for a month, but I'll have to work to pay for college, and I knew that

-I'll be going know. Do your best Lucy; you're our pride- He said with a bright smile, with the sun reflecting in his glasses

-I will dad, thank you- I stayed at the sidewalk, watching dad's car get tinier and tinier with the distance, until he turned and disappeared.

I faced the gate with my box in hands. I knew beyond that gate, everything would be even tougher, and I'm ready for it. Bring it on!
